I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

Ordered my 5mg pen today. Won't need it for another 10 days but want to err on the side of caution. I'm with Simple Online Pharmacy and got another discount code so didn't pay full price again.

Having a tough, tough week as I'm having zero suppression (didn't think I had suppression on W1 or W2 but I must have as I wasn't this hungry until day 5/6!) It's only W3D4 as well.

Chunkysewist · 12/05/2025 20:10

Well done on the losses @BudgieMom and @Undecided2025 excellent!

@Undecided2025 i ordered mine from ukmedi 😊

MsRicoletti · 11/05/2025 20:57

well done on the losses 🥳

A Glycerol suppository (if required) to get things going , then 5 prunes a day and a laxido every few days have been a game changing poop routine for me.

Thank you. That is very helpful.

Sheldon4k · 12/05/2025 21:02

Evening, can I ask which needles and syringes you have bought for the 5th dose?
Thank you in advance

@ymemanresu I'm on gel, coil for progesterone & testosterone. Newly on coil due to spotting. Coil didn't improve it and in last week have noticed increase in spotting. Interesting it may be due to mounjaro.

I have an appointment on Thursday to discuss the coil as my mini pill is ineffective with MJ and I had my first period (or breakthrough bleed) in 14 years 🙈
Disappointing that I may be no better off with the coil, but also thinking the nurse practitioner might not be clued up on MJ and won't be able to advise 😬

ymemanresu · 12/05/2025 21:21

Yorkshiregirl10 · 12/05/2025 17:59

Has anyone taken the golden dose yet who could say how easy or difficult they found it please?
Quite keen to give it a go due to the coat of MJ but I'm not a fan of needles at the best of times. Whilst the pen is a bit stiff to inject, I can do it without really looking at the needle.

I did it in my belly which is a fat pouch 🤣I figured more fat = hurt less. I just don’t look when i put it in and when i do look it’s in and i haven’t felt a thing. Had to press a bit harder with the insulin syringe than the needles you get with the pen.

@Sheldon4k I've got these ones https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk?variant=53484951077243

Thank you!
I was on the medisave website, getting myself in a pickle with all the choices! Actually looks like I was looking at the right ones after all.
Not sure if I will go ahead and do it, but would like to have the option and I am possibly going to do a midway between the 2.5 and 5, so its possible they will be needed for the final dose if i do.

I wouldnt have even thought about amazon doing them to be honest.

PoisonIvy89 · 12/05/2025 21:28

Excellent losses! @BudgieMom @Undecided2025 @Nearlyhadenough

@Yorkshiregirl10 I don't think any of us here have reached week 5 yet, might be worth looking on the threads that have been running a bit longer

Just an fyi in case anyone else might need to know at some point. Dulcolax which always works the next morning after taking it at night seems to be taking longer to work. Maybe the slower stomach emptying slowing it down? Talking about my bowel movements or lack thereof on the internet is weird and not something I thought I'd ever be doing, I've just ordered the glycerine stuff. I'm shutting up now, just thought it might be useful for anyone else trying to predict a convenient time, iykwim. 😬

PoisonIvy89 · 12/05/2025 21:43

@Yorkshiregirl10 oops I didn't see @ymemanresu 's post before I replied.
Did you insert the whole longer needle or just halfway?

I get the depo injection, so far no issues. It stops my periods which is my main motivation when picking a type of conversation. Worth a chat with your nurse about it

Like @Sheldon4k the choice is a bit baffling

I used to have depo in my early 20s but I had constant spotting, and swapped to mini pill, so not keen to try it again 😕 My motivation is also no periods 🤣

PoisonIvy89 · 12/05/2025 22:05

@PumpKim I had a mirena coil for a while and had no periods

Nothing like trial and error with women's health 🙄

Just to report back I survived my Zumba class! It was really good fun, actually.

Also wanted to make people aware as I didn't know that mounjaro can cause skin to be sensitive to the sun. I sat out in the sun for a couple of hours in my swimming costume. When I got changed my breasts (that were covered by my costume) were bright red!

OMG. So that's why I burnt through my jeans the other day!!!!

Chunkysewist · 13/05/2025 07:13

W4D1 today, will be doing my fourth jab in a bit once the house is empty. It's gone really quickly, only feels like I started last week 😊 I don't weigh till Friday so nothing to report there yet. Hope everyone has a good day ♥️

Coventree · 13/05/2025 07:23

@PoisonIvy89 I agree on the dulcolax - one’s not having the similar effect as it used to. I haven’t tried the nuclear option of two for a bit but I wonder if that would be different too!

@Chunkysewist are you feeling ready for next week and the move up to come around?

Sorry to hear you're struggling.

YippeeAbsentmindedly · 13/05/2025 07:34

W4D1, I started injecting on a Monday but that's my busiest day and I just didn't get chance yesterday so I'll be injecting this morning. Spoke with my provider and I'm moving up to the 5mg dose pen, but I will be using my own needles to extract the extra dose from this pen.

I can't help with what kind, though - I was given some by a friend who has also been using WLI (and is a nurse, so they know which ones to get).

SW 12'7
W1 12'6.1 (-0.9lb)
W2 12'2.4 (-3.7lb)
W3: 12'0.9 (-1.5lb)
Total 6.1lb.

A slower week this week, I've definitely felt more hungry. I dipped just below 12 over the weekend, so gutted that I've gone back up but next week 🤞 I'm obviously in the slower weight loss bracket, but happy with slowly but surely (and it's still faster than I would manage without the WLI).

Yes! It was so weird the way I was red under my costume. I thought hmmm....is this the mounjaro?!

6lb over 3 weeks is brilliant- well done!

Sunshineandpool · 13/05/2025 07:39

Morning all! Hope everyone has a good day. Luckily the redness has gone and I've not actually burnt. I'm W3D4 and still getting really good suppression. I've messaged my provider to ask their advice on moving up to 5ml or not.

YippeeAbsentmindedly · 13/05/2025 08:05

@Sunshineandpool I made the decision because I haven't really been getting much suppression on the 2.5mg, which is only supposed to be the starter dose anyway.

I figure if it doesn't agree with me, I can just do half doses more often.

Interesting to see about being more susceptible to the sun, I hadn't heard that before. I'm off abroad in 3 weeks so I will pack stronger sun cream!

@Chunkysewist thank you!

Ive reordered my pen for 5mg so I can up if I feel I need to. I’ve weighed this morning (I’m weighing every morning) and I’m -11lbs. Lightest I’ve been for years. In fact, it’s the weight I was when I stopped weighing myself at 6 months pregnant 🤣🤪

W3 D3
SW 13 3.75
CW 12 6.75
and just realised my bmi is under 30 too
