I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

Has anyone else been really ill on wk 2?
I've got really bad upset tummy. My tummy is cramping so much, it's really painful. I can't get off the loo and I feel likein going to throw up

oh no, hope you feel better soon

wlinewbie0425 · 05/05/2025 22:13

@Brunocatmonsorry you are having a bad week. I felt pretty awful from the next day after injecting week 2 dose for a whole day but then it passed. Extreme nausea and headache in my case. Really hope yours passes too. Have you managed to get any calories in? And water/electrolytes?

I feel your pain. Saturday afternoon i started with constipation, my 3rd jab was Saturday evening. Struggled with it through Sunday. Had a normal poop this afternoon and thought great thats over. Now tonight ive gone completely the other way. Oh the joys.

Gabby10 · 06/05/2025 06:51

@PoisonIvy89I’m W1d6 and was the same yesterday and I already feel like today is going to be all about the will power! Jab tomorrow though so I’m keeping that in mind.

GoGoGovy · 06/05/2025 07:06

Morning!
W1D4 for me. Looks like I’ve lost a Kg so far. Not a huge amount, but I have had two social events this weekend, so not bad really. No real issues. A bit of nausea and a few tummy cramps so far. Anyway, back to work today. Planning to have a. Protein rich lunch and NO afternoon snacking.

coffeelover69 · 06/05/2025 07:40

Morning everyone
So nice to read through everyones stories when I get the chance. We are all doing so well and the support on this group is just lovely Smile.
Hope you start to feel better soon @Brunocatmonand @Scouseblokex plenty of water and rest if you can
It's jab 3 day today for me and I've just weighed
SW 14
CW 13.5
So 9lb loss in two weeks (just tipped into overweight from obese at 29.3!!)
I've ordered my next pen and went for 5mg as there was only £10 difference and like others have suggested I can tweak the doses if necessary so seems better value for money. Still haven't ordered the kit for the golden dose, a bit scared of trying it tbh but I was even more scared of injecting - look how far we've all come! 👏😁
Have a good day everyone x

Sunshineandpool · 06/05/2025 07:54

Morning, guys!

Had an early breakfast this morning as on a course today. Felt a bit nauseous but ok once I got going.

All the losses and NSV are so positive. We really have come so far already!

Sallycinnamum · 06/05/2025 08:01

Morning all. Struggling a bit again today. Literally can't face eating anything and have a very busy week ahead work wise so I'll try and force something down this morning. I also think I'm not drinking enough.

I'll give it another week and reassess. Although the weight loss is great I'm feeling quite low in mood and the constant low level nausea is a battle.

Chunkysewist · 06/05/2025 08:25

W3D1 for me. Just done my jab. I'm getting better at it! I'm expecting a headache and stomach cramps in a few hours as that's what happened the first 2 jabs. Nothing a couple of paracetamol didn't sort though. Had breakfast already, protein shake and a slice of whole meal toast with butter and honey.

Hope you feel in a better place soon @Sallycinnamum

Awesome loss @coffeelover69 well done!

MsRicoletti · 06/05/2025 08:28

Weigh in today. I’ve only lost 1 pound in a week… how??? Why????

I’ve had appetite suppression so have eaten little ,absolutely no snacks or alcohol at all, and have even started to go on walks. I don’t understand.
Feeling very deflated. after initial 6lb loss this feels hard to take.

Sorry, you aren't feeling great and really hope the nausea settles down for you soon.

My health coach (Juniper) has said I shouldn't be drinking 3.5L a day, 2L of that should be water. That's quite a lot for me but I'm trying!

coffeelover69 · 06/05/2025 09:13

Hope things improve @Sallycinnamum 🤗it is a bit of roller-coaster ride x
@MsRicoletti it is a bit disheartening but try to think that you have lost half a stone in just two weeks which is still amazing. When I was with SW it took me 3 months to get a half stone certificate!

Gabby10 · 06/05/2025 09:28

@MsRicolettiI was having a read up on weight loss last night and anything over 2lb a week is actually classed as rapid weight loss and not sustainable so it may help to think of it that way. Although I know once I’m passed first week my weight loss will slow down and I’ll probably feel the same 😂 x

ymemanresu · 06/05/2025 09:40

Great losses everyone and @Brunocatmon and @Sallycinnamum hope you feel better soon, sounds tough.

I’m W3D5 and today is the first time i’ve felt a bit hungry and looking forward to lunch. Is this a sign that i’ve got used to this dose and ready to move up on the next pen with 5mg do you think?

Brunocatmon · 06/05/2025 10:00

Morning ladies. I've had the worst 18 hours and counting. It got to the point where I was literally heaving and bringing up bright yellow bile.

Every 15 minutes or so I am still having diarrhea with the worst stomach cramps.

I'm really hoping this is a bug because If it's not I'm really reconsidering carrying on with the 3rd dose next week.

Sallycinnamum · 06/05/2025 10:09

I suspect I'm feeling rough as I'm just not eating enough so I'll make a concerted effort to eat and drink today.

@Brunocatmon oh that sounds awful. Poor you.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/05/2025 10:31

Just a quick mention to those that want to tweak doses. I had only taken 4 of 200 on my first pen and was expecting to be able to take a 5th without faffing with ‘golden dose- but no- it locks out at the 4 doses on my pen -so I would have to faff regardless if I wanted the extra- just thought I would mention this because it might impact anyone who thought they would get an xtra dose by using a bit less each dose.

Chunkysewist · 06/05/2025 10:44

@Brunocatmon that sounds awful! Are there any stomach bugs going around near you at the moment? Did it coincide with a jab?

@MsRicoletti 7lb in 2 weeks is great. I also believe that after a big week 1 loss the body has a bit of a shock on week 2 and needs to recalibrate ready for week 3. Keep the faith, you got this 💪

Ah, that’s a very good point…my cunning plan won’t work without buying extra syringes etc and I’m not sure I’m that bothered about trying it.

Keep going @MsRicoletti, we’re all just adjusting to this new way and finding what does and doesn’t work for us - maybe next week will be different, maybe the next dose up will be different. But either way, you’re half a stone lighter than you were just two weeks ago and that’s worth being proud of.

Hope you feel better soon @Brunocatmon☹️

Chunkysewist · 06/05/2025 11:23

Just ordered my next pen ready. I went for the 5mg. Hope I made the right choice. I've still got another 2 weeks on 2.5 (inc golden dose) and I will do a half dose on the 5mg pen initially as I'm going away and don't fancy any new side effects occurring on a 4 hour drive 🙈

Feeling very deflated. after initial 6lb loss this feels hard to take.

My weigh day is tomorrow, but i have weighed this morning because I feel hungry! I think I was trying to deter myself from going crazy today and tomorrow by seeing a loss and not wanting to ruin it... I am only 1lb down too... so much for helping myself along.. I feel really annoyed! I baked rolo cookie bars with the kids last night and they are sat on the side taunting me and the way I am feeling I can see me caving in today Angry

I know we should look at the combined loss over the last two weeks, but it doesn't stop the disappointment.

It has however made me reconsider my thinking that I would stay on 2.5mg for the next pen.

Hope you and I both manage to move on from the disappointment quickly. Today (or tomorrow for me) is the start of a new week. X

I did wonder if this might happen doing it that way (and was considering doing this the same as others) so thank you for confirming! Im not excellent with the jabs anyway, have to get the hubby to do it, and there is no way he will be messing about with another needle to do it for me as it took a lot to get him onside anyway.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/05/2025 11:37

@Sheldon4k yep I was particularly thinking of those doing 3.75 on 5mg pens and counting clicks - I would have presumed you could easily access what you haven’t taken but it seems it is not the case after 4 jabs

Sheldon4k · 06/05/2025 11:46

didnt manage to get back on yesterday so thank you to you all on your thoughts re taking MJ long term plans.. i do know its too early to really be thinking about it, but im wondering if my thoughts will change further down the line.

@catchingzzzedsi am hoping that by the time I am at a weight I am happy with the healthier habits will help me along too

@wlinewbie0425i also feel like its going to be different for everyone. I believe my weight gain to be hormonal but also I have to be in the right frame of mind and obviously haven't been more recently. So hoping this is going to give me a bit of a reset.

@violetmondaysi also havent been able to find any 'hopeful' stories about after mj, however @PeachSnailhas attached a thread on here that does show a bit of hope for us moving forward.

I have been going to the gym and will continue as I feel that strength training will help moving forward and as has been said people tend to wish they had started sooner in their journey.

@SkibidiSigmai do feel that i would be more happy to remain on mj if the cost was more affordable in the long run and little side effects continue to be the case, however I still feel that like any medication I would rather be without it eventually

violetmondays · 06/05/2025 12:18

Afternoon all. Feeling a bit rubbish today but I think it's more likely to be my daughter's cold than the mj.

@Brunocatmon I feel really bad for you, hope you feel better very soon and if not maybe worth contacting your provider to ask for advice.

I have been inspired by the strength chats and the chatgpt suggestions earlier in the thread - so if anyone is interested....I asked chatgpt to create me a programme. This is what I asked it to do:

'can you write me a full body strength training programme to do 3 x per week for 20 minutes. I have dumbells and kettlebells. I am a woman aged ** and looking to increase strength in perimenopause'.

It spat out a pretty good programme for me to follow which is great as to be honest I don't really have a clue what I'm doing! It will even create a printable pdf of it so I can print it and stick it up somewhere👌

@Sheldon4k and @MsRicoletti When I was looking on another thread of people who started last December, some of them said they were averaging about a 1lb a week of weight loss. Also by losing weight too fast you're opening yourself up to other health complications so slow and steady is much safer and more likely to be maintained. As long as it's going down you're doing great 👏
(Also I weighed myself yesterday and it said I had put on 3lb which I obviously haven't and I was back down again today so fluctation is real)
