I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

Just had oven pizza, salad and a few oven chips for tea. Managed to keep myself busy today but definitely having more hunger like sensations on day 7.

Crikeyalmighty · 05/05/2025 18:34

@MsRicoletti looking round our shared business centre and also amongst my friends of all ages, absolutely everyone I know who is both pretty slim ‘and ‘ importantly over a certain age ( let’s say around 35) doesn’t seem to prioritise food as a huge deal or make a big think about treats or snacks - most seem to eat decent amounts , but not huge amounts and I’ve never seen any of them with a single snack over and above maybe a few nuts or a few grapes - I’m sure there are exceptions but I haven’t seen many to be honest.

TheSilentSister · 05/05/2025 18:53

Thanks for posting the YT @catchingzzzeds - makes more sense now. I think I'll order the 5 and adjust if I feel like it.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 05/05/2025 18:55

For those who just started, don’t get disheartened. The 2.5mg dose is just to get your body used to it. Mounjaro is only therapeutic from 5mg upwards for most people. That’s when it should really be starting to make a difference.

I took 3.75 for my 4th jab and take my first 5mg on Thursday.

PoisonIvy89 · 05/05/2025 18:58

Everyone is doing fantastically well, seeing all these losses is making me excited for weigh in day, I have never been excited to see what I weigh before! Well done everyone!!

Is anyone else waking up earlier? Every day since taking the first dose I have woken up early and been immediately wide awake. For someone who usually sleeps in as late as possible and takes a while to fully wake up this feels weird.
I'm also having a lot less fatigue and brain fog, despite sleeping significantly less. I don't know if it's the mounjaro or the eating healthier foods or the increased protein or the decreased sugar or the extra supplements or a combination of all of the above but something is fixing me in so many more ways than just losing weight.

BudgieMom · 05/05/2025 19:17

Thanks @Chunkysewist @Coventree @MsRicoletti 😊😊

Nearlyhadenough · 05/05/2025 19:21

First weigh in today and lost 7.6 lb! I know it’s the first week and I’m not expecting it to continue, but, I feel great😊

Crikeyalmighty · 05/05/2025 19:30

@NotsosunnyShropshire whilst I know in theory that’s the case, in practice it does for many have a decent enough effect - in my case it’s brought my blood pressure back to normal and worked wonders on my stress incontinence ( tmi I know!! ) - I’m actually only doing 2 months on it as I don’t like the heartburn and nausea much at all and have good willpower anyway - but I can see for some that never going above 2.5 may well be just enough to work - it really depends on whether food noise and snacking was ever a big issue as it wasn’t for me.

PoisonIvy89 · 05/05/2025 19:31

MsRicoletti · 05/05/2025 14:40

So, medexpress have emailed me to tell me to reorder.

im due to take third dose tomorrow. Im pretty sure ive lost a few pounds this week (along with about 6lb on first week) and suppression has still been very strong. It fades a bit the few days before I’m due to jab, where I will feel a bit hungry but I’m still totally devoid of food noise, can ignore the hunger if I’m busy and am satisfied with small portions.

negative side effects are very minimal, as in the sometimes problematic zero appetite, occasional heartburn and constipation.

if you were me, would you stick to 2.5 for another month or go for 5ml??

im a bit scared of upping my dose and the suppression being even more extreme, along with possible further side effects creeping in?

I don’t actually mind plodding along and losing a few lb a week, as I feel like I’m resetting my mindset and embedding some good habits as I go. But equally don’t want to stall my weight loss and I’ve only lost a few lb this week… which isn’t as ‘exiting’ as the 6lb I lost in first week.

Really unsure what to do …. 🤨

Based on what you've said I would stay at 2.5 and I am planning to myself for as long as possible. If you are using the 5th dose you have an extra week to see if there's any changes to your suppression before you need to order.

violetmondays · 05/05/2025 19:38

@PoisonIvy89 yes!! I have been waking up earlier since I started and also been wide awake - although I have felt extremely fatigued during the day some days too.

@BudgieMom congratulations on your loss, fantastic!

I was so happy today!! I put on a pair of jeans that I haven’t been able to fasten the top button of for ages and I could comfortably fasten them. I’ve also noticed other clothes feeling slightly less tight. I’m so pleased as part of the reason I’m doing this is because I no longer feel nice in my bigger clothes and really want to get into clothes that I haven’t been able to for years, this feels like a small step towards that 🤞🏻

MsRicoletti · 05/05/2025 20:41

@violetmondays I’m the same with clothes goals! I don’t actually have a target weight in mind… I just want to feel good in my clothes again! I’m guessing that when I get close to this point I might pick a number just so I can monitor gains and losses.

well done on that top button 🙌🏻

Yea I’m going to stick with 2.5 for as long as it’s working, might do it with a 5ml pen just in case though.

im too scared to mess about with the 5 th dose. I can just about bring myself to use the regular pen 🫣

wlinewbie0425 · 05/05/2025 20:54

congrats on the jeans @violetmondayso think those sort of victories feel even better than the numbers on the scales. I have a pair that at Xmas I had to use the pregnancy trick of using a hair bobble as couldn’t fasten! Now they are fine.

well done also on the losses @Nearlyhadenoughand everyone else!

Thanks @MsRicolettiand @wlinewbie0425- I have also been using the hair bobble trick for a while now and I won’t be sad to see the back of it!

I'm not going to do 5th dose either. I'm a bit of a stickler for the rules. I was nervous enough so can't even contemplate messing with the doses 🙈

Mounraine · 05/05/2025 21:29

I'm not tempted to take an extra dose out either. I don't think I know enough about needles and hygiene and the risks. I guess I also think of it as the dregs rather than as a golden dose. I totally understand why more informed people do it though, given the price.

I know it's only day5 but I go to my slimming world group on a Monday night and nearly fainted when they said I had lost 7.5 lbs even got on twice to check it!! 😃😃

Well done!!

Brunocatmon · 05/05/2025 21:58

Has anyone else been really ill on wk 2?
I've got really bad upset tummy. My tummy is cramping so much, it's really painful. I can't get off the loo and I feel likein going to throw up

I'm sometimes waking up to half an hour earlier, but usually when my alarm goes off. But like you I am wide awake which is very unusual! Like you I am seeing all sorts of benefits.

W1d5 suppression and noise reduction are definitely wearing off a bit.
Late last night I had a small urge to get a snack but told myself no and that was enough the urge went away. This evening I am fighting the urges and using all my willpower.

I'm so sorry you are feeling unwell. I would try some kefir for your gut biome and some peppermint or ginger tea. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm waking up about 2.5-3 hours earlier and I'm wide awake, I've tried going back to sleep and can't, it's a good thing really but also a little bit annoying because I might physically be wide awake and bouncing out of bed but mentally I am just not prepared to start my day so early 😂
