I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

@Mounjaronew I'd wait a couple of days, you might find you are repulsed by things you usually love and crave completely different things. I'm just doing a tesco order and it looks a whole lot different to my usual!

BonnieClydeSW15 · 05/05/2025 06:25

@Sunshineandpool Well done you! I know that one of my triggers is being pissed off or upset - always sent me to the cupboards but I have found that I seem to have more control than before even though I’m feeling almost back to ‘normal’ on W2D5! Those morons who call it ‘cheating’ are just ignorant and just remember that the world is full of them! Happy MayDay! 😁

catchingzzzeds · 05/05/2025 07:01

@Beachbabeshope you feel better today, I’ve been too scared to have a drink as I get horrendous hangovers and I’m worried Mj will make them even worse

@Mounjaronew good luck!

@Apprenante hope it works well for you

@Sunshineandpool good restraint! What sort of strength exercises do Juniper recommend? I was looking for some last night but ended up confusing myself

@PoisonIvy89brilliant idea, I detest meal planning so will give it a go

@Crikeyalmightycouldnt agree more

@BonnieClydeSW15 it feels so good having that control doesn’t it? I used to feel a deep sense of shame for my eating habits and used to hide my wrappers 🙈

PeachSnail · 05/05/2025 07:26

Morning all 👋
Happy bank holiday Monday!

It's weigh-in day for me...

W2 D7
SW 87.65kg
CW 84.2kg
GW 65kg

So that's a loss of 1.7kg - almost exactly the same as last week! That's still way more than I'd usually manage per week while dieting so I'm feeling pleased with that 🙌

@catchingzzzeds your comment to @BonnieClydeSW15 really resonated. Part of the reason I overate so much was because it was easier to eat the whole bar/whole packet and hide the wrapper/bag in the bin, than to just have a portion and try to hide the bag in a cupboard. MJ has made this easier to control, and for the first time in my life I still have uneaten Easter chocolate in the house.

dozywelshbird · 05/05/2025 08:03

Morning all, W2D1, going to take 2nd injection once I've walked the dog.

Weigh in this morning shows a 6lb loss 😲 I know first week whooshes are a thing and it won't be like that every week, but I'm happy for such a good start to this.

Had very few side effects last week, hoping for the same this week.... Have a great Mon all 😁

catchingzzzeds · 05/05/2025 08:14

@toobusytoclean 💐 let’s hope this is the start to a lifelong change for us all

@dozywelshbird amazing 🤩

SparklyGlitterballs · 05/05/2025 08:19

Hi all, I found you again 🙂 I don't get to come on the thread as often as I'd like and when I do it's moved forwards so much! Well done those of you who are experiencing good losses. I had my second weigh in this morning prior to taking my last jab with this pen and, following my 4lb loss last time, I've only lost half a pound this week 🙁 I'm sure this was affected by my daughter pestering for a takeaway this weekend (we had Chinese), and also the fact I just haven't felt the suppression this week so much (and food noise has built up). Having said that, I haven't gone mad at any time.

I've just reordered and I'm going for the 5mg pen this time, in the hope I get better suppression.

On the subject of side effects, I've nothing major to report. Very slight constipation. I am sleeping incredibly well at night, but having very vivid dreams. Another thing this week - don't know if it's related to the injection - is I've suffered badly from a heat rash. I used to get this a lot when I was a young woman and on contraceptives. I don't sit out in the heat too much as I find I can't tolerate it (no internal thermostat control since meno) but I have had the odd five or ten minutes in the sun last week. I made sure to put factor 50 on my neck and chest, as that's where I get red, but wow, such bad heat rash! I'm chucking calamine and all sorts on to try and ease the redness and itching. As some PPs have said, I think my weight gain is hormonal, so I'm wondering if it's hormones post-meno causing this again, or the pen?

Age 61
Height 5'7"
SW 228 lb
CW 223.5 lb
GW below 154 lb

Edited

You and I are on exactly the same days.

I lost 3lb in my first week. I didnt do any extra exercise except a short 15 minute hit kettlebell.

I was a bit disappointed but I had a head start on my own whilst waiting for delivery etc so have lost 12lbs in total since 14th April.

I'm at work today so lots of lifting and carrying, I bloody forgot my electrolytes and my snack so I'll have to buy some. I'm here until 6pm.

Hope everyone has a great bank holiday today.

AdotHam · 05/05/2025 08:21

Happy bank holiday everyone!
week 2 d7 for me here and second weigh day.
SW 221.4
CW 212.8.
Week 1 lost 7 pounds, but only 1 off this week so really trying not to feel disappointed in that since I’ve been so careful. Trick now will be to just carry on and believe it will pick up again and not just give up like I have so many times before at the first sign of it slowing down.
As a 2 week loss that I’ve maintained, it’s great.
weight loss really is a game of mental gymnastics for me!
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Brunocatmon · 05/05/2025 08:26

Well done everyone on their losses and positive stories.

Someone was telling me to use chat gpt yesterday. I hadn't thought of asking it to do a meal planner for me. I might give that a go.

A loss is a loss isn't it? This is a new week, we can do this.

Chunkysewist · 05/05/2025 08:32

Good morning! Well done on the losses!
It's W2D7 for me. I found I was able to eat a bit more yesterday and I'm enjoying coffee again this morning. It's my 3rd jab tomorrow. I have a feeling today is going to need some will power (I must have some somewhere 😂) so I'm going to busy myself making a dress for a show we are going to see on Saturday.

Maybe look at it as 8lbs in 2 weeks? That's 4lb a week 😊

Great way to look at it.

StartingApril2025 · 05/05/2025 08:39

Ah well done everyone LOVE seeing all the positivity! I’m beginning to think did I actually inject myself properly on sat for my second jab?! No side effects other than vivid dreams, woken up hungry and craving nicotine whereas this time last week I was very different! I suppose some weeks might be like this though, don’t want total suppression but the craving for nicotine i could do without!
it’s a lovely sunny day where I am, going to have a bbq brunch in a while and get caught up with some housework as away with work this the eve until Wednesday. I have my food prepped to bring with me, made soup yesterday, cooked chicken and a few of the Lidl small lunch pots of curry - so nice and 20 something grams of protein in them. Oh and my new favourite sweet treat - chocolate snack a jacks!

any other ideas if quick go to protein snacks/ meals that you have been enjoying?

I've just asked chat gpt to make me a days menu less than a 1000 cals and around 100g protein

PumpKim · 05/05/2025 08:51

Morning all. Well done on all the fab losses.
W1D5 for me.
No real side effects to speak of.
No super suppression either but I am managing not to overeat, just enjoying normal size portions.
Did a barbell workout this morning, it was tough! I used to do it three times a week but it's been about a year. New knee pain that wasn't there before. I'm guessing it's my weight and lack of exercise for such a long time.

Sallycinnamum · 05/05/2025 08:58

Morning all. W2D3 for me and suffering from nausea and stomach cramps today, which is not great as we're heading into London to celebrate DS 16th birthday.

I think this may be down to not drinking enough yesterday and my evening meal, which might have been too fatty. Lesson learnt.

Will dose myself up and hope for the best

violetmondays · 05/05/2025 09:03

Morning - happy bank holiday!
Week 2 day 5 for me.
I did a really tough reformer Pilates class yesterday so have woken up very achy this morning. I also felt really hungry yesterday afternoon (maybe because I had exercised??) and had some ice cream last night which is the first time I’ve had anything like that since starting MJ. I hope I haven’t done too much damage!
Hoping to get out for a nice long walk today, fingers crossed the sun stays out!
Well done to everyone’s losses this week, no matter how small, it’s all in the right direction Grin

wlinewbie0425 · 05/05/2025 09:11

Happy bank holiday it’s lovely to pop on the thread in the morning and see all the positive updates. Congrats on the new losses. My happy update is that I did a mid week weigh and BMI is 29.9! Not seen just ‘overweight’ in a long time. Definitely feel clothes are slightly less tight but still a long way to go. I really believe it will happen this time unlike previous dieting attempts. Reading the other months’ threads who started before us helps keep me positive too. They are all doing amazing!

@wlinewbie0425 that’s great well done and it’s such a good encouragement isn’t it to keep going ! My relative lost 20% of their body weigh on wegovey i 6 months, came off it and had put on 2 lbs in the 6months since, which to me is incredible. I now am thinking of 6 months time and where we all could be towards our weighloss goals, just wish I had started this earlier!

Congrats @PeachSnail you're one week ahead of me with the same SW and GW, fingers crossed I have the same loss!

Definitely lost the suppression at the end of my first week. Days 5-7 have been hard with the food noise back. Hopefully that'll get easier each week as the MJ builds up in my system.
