Welcome to thread 10 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we’ve successfully navigated Easter and head towards Summer Holiday Season. Stop here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W25 D1 and on my second 7.5mg pen

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 9lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 44lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

1lb off for me this week. Slowly Slowly is OK. Hope you all enjoy the sunshine today

murraymcgill · 11/05/2025 09:27

@Cantbesure thanks it's been hard but we have a DSGS to deal with he has Autism and he's 7 so we get on with life his mums in the same place as his dad is who is my DSS so he needs us or he's in care

Cantbesure · 11/05/2025 09:29

I can’t even imagine how hard that is @murraymcgill well done for stepping in and looking after your GS. He’s lucky to have supportive grandparents

LindtCurves · 11/05/2025 09:38

Ladies, I have hit my initial target weight! 42lb down.

Main effects:

  • everything is so much easier, walking up hill I'm not out of breath etc
  • much better, upbeat mood
  • really enjoying my fashion. Bizarrely size 10 has somehow become very loose on me. Keeping fave old clothes though in case I gain weight back. I'm wearing clothes from my teen years and they're starting to feel loose, too
  • hardly anyone has commented on my weight, but people just say 'you look really good'. Main area of weight loss seems to be face/ neck/ shoulders/back
  • my main 'problem' would have been random snacks, e.g. buying a UPF sandwich for a flight. Now I stop and think, 'do i want or need this? No, not really.' And I spend my tenner on a book instead, food for the brain

Plan now:

  • Lose another 20lb, but probably at the pace of 1lb or so
  • Build up muscle to have a really nice shape, not just be 'skinny'
  • Get my calorie intake up a bit. I've dropped under 1,000 a lot of the days, and it's not really sufficient to get all the nutrients in that the body needs. So I'll dose down, be more active and eat all the good stuff. A high protein soup with 14 different vegetables, and eggs and meat from my local farm is what maintenance dream are made of

So happy, thanks for all your support :) And this tool is amazing to make lasting lifestyle changes and really become the person we want to be, active, healthy, confident and glowing.

Plus extra kudos for our cohort for taking this on through the dark winter, peak comfort eating season, and Christmas!

3 stone rosette for you! Congratulations! Enjoy all of your benefits and teenage clothes! (Sadly if I wore mine, I’d look like an extra from Rivals 😂)

That soup sounds amazing! Do you have a link to it?

Ignore the click-bait headline - the article itself is actually very good!

Thanks for sharing. Interesting how many articles are now pointing out the disordered eating and thinking created by WW/Slimming World I think.

@Mounjaropen I hope you had your supper eventually! My OH is prone to engrossed in something and then forget about other peoples food needs 😂 if he had a tractor I would never see him!

Hope the tomahawk was worth the wait :-)

also congrats on size 10 👏🎉

Yes, there are definitely 3 of us in the relationship if you include the Tractor 😂

Tomahawk was bloody marvellous but my digestion system did not react well to eating late…😩 on the upside, no constipation 😉

Amazing news on the size 10 @Mounjaropenisn’t it a fabulous feeling? You have worked so hard with all of your exercise. I’m sure you look absolutely fabulous.

@murraymcgill life sounds very difficult for you. Well done on keeping at this whilst it’s all going on. We deserve to look after ourselves too.

Im having an unusual weekend as the scales keep dropping. I usually gain a pound or 2. That’s a loss of 2.7lbs this week 🤯 2.8lbs away from my 8 stone goal.

Congratulations on the whoosh!

I am trying hard but I still look like a melted candle sadly…😩

What a lovely update. 20lbs to lose seems like a lot to go still if size 10s are loose. How have you decided you would like to drop to that weight? I’m asking as deciding what the ‘right’ weight is for me is more difficult than I imagined. I’m already half a stone lighter than my original goal weight and probably a stone heavier than when I was a slim teenager. What is right for me now in my mid 50s with stretched skin?

@MounjaropenI feel the melted candle reference keenly. I’m in a bikini in the garden today and my size is lovely. Less so the stretched sagging stomach!

I've just been in for a hip replacement related to an accident I had a few years ago. I'm a bit young for one but didn't have a choice really.
I caught sight of my bottom in the big bathroom mirror and to my horror I have mounjaro arse 😐It's all wrinkly due to the 5 stone weight loss, horribly wrinkly not least because of the weight loss but also muscle wastage from being immobile for a year after the accident. I'm so upset.
Can exercise and weights sort this out? The consultant says I can do gym weights in 6 months time.

Cantbesure · 11/05/2025 11:53

how are you feeling after your op @Gettingbysomehow remember to be kind to yourself and take time to recover. A director at work is on the list for a hip and she was told it’s the best op in terms of impact on your life and ease of recovery. Well done on your huge weight loss which I’m sure will help your recovery.

No, but have noticed the ease with which I can cut my toenails!

Oooh, how are you feeling? I think once you’re cleared to exercise your bum muscles will come back - being immobile will have been the problem rather than weight loss. Maybe you could consider a proper personal trainer with experience in post-injury/operation muscle gain to help? But even just being able to walk more will help once you’re up and about again.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/05/2025 13:37

Weight is stuck, grr. I’ve been bobbing up and down the same pound for a fortnight, and irritatingly I’m stuck just above a healthy BMI. Literally a pound and a half to go. Just started my second 10mg pen. However, I measured myself this morning and I’m 37-28-39, which is amazing! I think that makes me a size 10, or at least nearly a size 10. I’ve lost at least 4 inches off my waist since November (maybe more), and the same off my bust. So I’m trying to ignore the scales!

KentishMama · 11/05/2025 13:58

I forgot to weigh in.

Stagnation for me. 73.4 kg, BMI 24.2.

I had a couple of odd weeks with work. Commuting more than usual and sitting in full-day workshops three days a week. Followed by team dinners. The catering was exceptionally good, and while I stuck to them healthiest possible choices, I ate more than usual, and that's showing. However, before Mounjaro I would definitely have put on weight in a period like this, so I'm celebrating the fact that I maintained!

I'm still enjoying replacing my wardrobe... But I'm between sizes a lot of the time (mostly between 12 and 14). I think I might just notice it more because I'm buying more tailored/ fitted styles, so they're less forgiving than the tents that I used to buy.

So sorry to hear about your accident - that's awful. 5 stone loss though is amazing!

Re; Bums. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think Mounjaro /Ozempic arse is a real thing. It is well-documented on here my exercise regime which has included weights since day 1. I have completed 110 Pvolve classes which have included umpteen squats/glutes strengthening exercises but even my previously-sizeable arse is no more. Flat as a pancake. I’m hoping that it will come back once I am off MJ. I literally have focussed on clean eating, maximising protein but to no avail….!
