Late April - early May 2025 starters

I will be starting Mounjaro at the end of this week. The current April thread are mostly discussing the move onto their second 4 weeks so thought I would start a thread for those of us right at the beginning.

Week 2 injection done. So much easier second time not worrying I was doing it wrong!

I’ve also just ordered my second pen - 5mg -as today was the first day it allowed me to reorder on MedExpress and when I clicked into it, saw it said “ Please allow up to 14 business days for prescription approval due to high demand.”

I’ve got longer than that until I need it (esp if I succeed with the 5th dose) but as I’m stepping up it’s gone for approval and I would rather have it waiting in the fridge than cut it fine. Just a heads up if anyone is planning to use them for next pen.

I also signed up for the one week Shotsy trial. I am loving the graph! Will see how I enjoy it for the week and might just go ahead and subscribe if I use it enough.

@Crunchymummy electrolytes are some DH already had that he bought in bulk from Amazon. The tablets in a tube that you dissolve in water. Last week starting them coincided with headache relief but it remains to be tested this week as I’ve just injected - will update later if it stops it coming back.

Please do report back as Amazon / dissolvables is what I was looking at.

Good luck @verity888! I got myself quite worked up but honestly didn't feel a thing.

Argh I want to order my next pen but do I go for 2.5mg or 5mg? I was thinking if I went 5mg I could do one dose at 2.5 (because I'm away and don't want extra side effects) then 2 doses of 3.75 to build up and a dose of 5 all within the clicks of the pen and then I can do 5 as the extra dose?
Any thoughts?

@Chunkysewist I explained my thinking a bit more further back in the thread but I am not 100% decided to actually move up to 5mg yet, I’ve only done a week so can’t be sure. But the pens need ordered ahead of time and both doses are the same price with ME so I can just take 30clicks if I want 2.5 for longer. Keeping my options open! (and my head can’t compute paying the same for half as much!) I know some of the cost is the pen itself but bet that is not a lot of it.

Hi everyone, it has probably been mentioned previously but there are so many posts! What were your side effects going from 2.5 to 5ml? I have hardly any side effects with 2.5, none really and going by my dates I will on holiday if I go to 5ml on my next pen. I don't want to miss a dose but I also don't want to be sick on my hols!! I am only W1D5 but I kinda feel hunger creeping in today and I don't want to go another month on 2.5ml if necessary.

W1 day 5 today and the munchies are back ( and the nicotine cravings🫨🫨)
I haven’t actually been too hungry today but I wanted to eat some crisps and a piece of chocolate whereas last few days that was a no no! I had some crisps and a square of chocolate. Not sure how I’m gona get through next two days to be honest, more willpower needed!

today I’ve had so far

• protein yoghurt with granola pot from lidl
• 2 rice cakes
• 2 chicken mini fillets and roasted butternut squash
• Handful of crisps and square of chocolate
• dinner is to be falafel and salad and a grain/ lentil mix.

i will count the calories today as other days i defo havnt been over but could be a fine line today!

I've done the trial month before and they actually taste nice. They're a bit too expensive at full price but definitely worth getting the trial offer.

You'll have to report back here if you get some useful info. I can't order my next pen till after my 3rd dose apparently so I have some thinking time. I'm similar to you and would be doing 5mg before going away so if I do get the higher pen I'll just do a half dose the first week.

I'm only W1D5, but unless I have any significant side effects on doses 2-4, I will be going up to 5mg after that. Any effect, real or imaginary, disappeared after 3 days and I'm interested to see if the second dose has any effect. I'm trying to make sensible choices today, but it's not easy. Tomorrow will be easier because I don't want loads of rubbish in my system leading to SEs on Friday.

Today I am taking before photos and measurements with my new body measuring gadget. It's a bluetooth measuring tape with an app that stores all the measurements but I think it might be faulty because I do not like the numbers it is giving me! The before photos are definitely wrong too. I took pictures from angles I had no business seeing and I'd like to go back to not knowing how big my butt is.

I'll be taking my first dose tomorrow morning and I'm excited to start!

My pen is not a click pen like most on here, it just gives the full dose so its all or nothing.

@Beachbabes are you not in the UK? All the Mounjaro kwikpens in the UK are the same, wherever you get them from.

First full day after my slightly scary experience from my first jab yesterday. I've contacted my prescription provider to see if it's safe to take a 2nd dose next week. Only side effect today is a VERY dry mouth so I've been drinking constantly. Not been starving but I skipped lunch due to work and I'm definitely ready to have something to eat now. No snacks though!

Second jab today and I am comfortably wearing a top that was too small last summer. Not entirely MJ related, but still very pleasing!

Update on my trial of Shotsy app. I think this is going to be really helpful for visualising the effect of changing doses in combination with the remaining drug left in system from previous. You can even add various options for future doses (then delete) to see what it would look like and the different in overall levels from 2.5 or 5 etc. I think I’m sold on taking the paid version after my trial!

This is mine after second dose today and I can see it will peak tomorrow evening and stay reasonably high through my danger weekend days! You can drag the curser left and right to see how the value changes by the hour. The dashed vertical line is when you are due to take next dose.

@wlinewbie0425 you may have sold me on the app! That is really helpful to know when the peak is!
