I will be starting Mounjaro at the end of this week. The current April thread are mostly discussing the move onto their second 4 weeks so thought I would start a thread for those of us right at the beginning.

Husband wanted to meet outside the pub earlier for a quick drink outside as the sun was out.

Ordered me a wine, omg didn’t fancy it AT ALL, drank it but didn’t enjoy it and definitely no more 🤮This is unheard of for me who loves a good drink. Can’t believe how this drug is working, Hope it has the same effect for others who want to cut down drinking.

Welcome to our newbies, looking forward to sharing your MJ journies!
I've just had my chicken gyros, I'm stuffed! I had to ask my husband if that was a big meal or something, he said no it was pretty small?! Done ok with my water today.
I think I've read that alot of people have felt MJ helps then consume less alcohol. I'm sure I read somewhere that they are trialing it's affects on alcohol consumption.

YippeeAbsentmindedly · 24/04/2025 20:01

Welcome newbies 👋

Looking forward to this being a lovely, supportive thread.

I'm wouldn't say I am having the same suppression others are experiencing, I still get hungry at mealtimes but I'm finding I'm just generally less bothered about food. It's taking me ages to eat a meal because I'm psyching myself up for each bite.

I don't know if it's my body saying it's full and my brain arguing that's not possible because I haven't eaten enough to satisfy a toddler!

YippeeAbsentmindedly · 24/04/2025 20:08

Chunky I'm due to go for bottomless brunch on Saturday, so I'll see then if it impacts how much alcohol I can drink. It'll be W1D5 for me, so interesting to see.

catchingzzzeds · 24/04/2025 20:36

It’s lovely reading everyone’s updates.
I’m starting tomorrow and I’m looking forward to getting on with it.
I must remember to weigh myself in the morning, I might take my measurements too. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and I remember not being able to see it myself despite others telling me how different I looked- maybe recording the inches lost will help with that.

Chunkysewist · 24/04/2025 20:59

@YippeeAbsentmindedly defo report back on the Saturday bottomless brunch!

@catchingzzzeds defo weigh and take measurements. The methreesixty app is fun too! I'm going to 'scan' once a month with it 😊

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 24/04/2025 21:01

I just took my first dose. I can’t believe I’ve actually done it!

MsRicoletti · 24/04/2025 21:09

I feel loads better after a small plate of carvery for my tea. I enjoyed it too, and not too full. Was only a baby size portion but hey ho.

I was feeling really weird today…super floaty and spaced out. I have barely eaten since Tuesday and I think my blood sugar was dropping.

is anyone else planning on setting reminder on phone and forcing a bit of food down when the timer goes off? I think I might need to do this.

also , I’m gonna need to meal prep as I’m not motivated to eat to so can’t be arsed to make food.

im actually hoping the appetite suppression settles down a bit for me, as its a bit much. Or maybe I just need to adjust my mindset about food , and get into a habit of eating something at least 3 times a day.

anyone else feeling this way?

Well done! And awesome username!

YippeeAbsentmindedly · 24/04/2025 21:47

MsRicoletti I'm not having the same level of suppression but I would think that, while it can't do any harm to fast for a few days, in order to make it sustainable you would need to get into some sort of habit of eating light meals, to keep your body nourished.

Have you looked at protein shakes? I have one for breakfast with collagen, which apparently helps with loose skin. I also add psyllium husk for fibre and a multivitamin powder, hedging my bets. Course, I'd have to start losing weight first for loose skin to be an issue 🤨

Mels2025 · 24/04/2025 22:06

Ordered first MJ from MedX and approved on Tues. Was hoping it'll arrive by the weekend but I don't think it'll come now till Monday. I've spent so much time thinking about doing this and now I'm itching to get going!

Sheldon4k · 24/04/2025 22:18

Hi. Im enjoying reading everyones experiences,

At almost 24 hours in I have a mild headache and I am very thirsty. I haven't felt hungry but I have eaten 3 small meals today.

Porridge for breakfast, only ate about 2 thirds of my normal portion, ham and lettuce wrap for lunch and a small tea of chicken and vegetables. Nowhere near the size portions as normal.. and normally would be searching for snacks in the eve but not felt that at all. Even turned down sweets offered to me by my kids and sweets are always my downfall.

I haven't felt that I couldn't eat more (not like a physical thing) more like I just didnt need more. Almost like all cues (hunger, full etc were missing)

Still not sure if that is a mind thing

However, this evening I feel like my upper body skin is tender and also around my hairline and jaw.. not painful or anything, just a little tender to the touch. Does anyone else have/ had this sensation?

All in all, im still feeling a bit apprehensive about what's to come.. ie are bad side effects going to set in etc, but im feeling positive for the long run!

Here's to the next 24 hours for us all!

I haven’t really thought about protein shakes but this is a really good idea, thanks 🙂 I’ll have a look. I have done slimfast in the past and as I’m naturally very disorganised , grabbing a shake instead of thinking about lunch was great! I just got too hungry when I was doing it, but that doesn’t seem to be a thing on MJ 🥳

I usually have collagen in my morning coffee, I’ve been doing it for about 6 months and my skin and hair loves it.. hoping it will also help when I start to shrink a bit!

I know what you mean about the lack of cues.. I knew I was hungry when I was eating my dinner this evening, as I was a bit shaky and was exited to be eating a meal, but I didn’t feel it in my tummy at all?! Like no hunger then no ‘satisfied’ feeling when I had eaten it. Very bizzare.

I haven’t had any skin tenderness.

I do feel super conscious and aware of any little grumble, as I’m scared I’m going to get suddenly ill with side effects. And I do feel quite cold which I think can be a side effect.

Defo keep an eye on it tho.. I can’t remember seeing this as a side effect in any of the stuff I’ve read, but you could reach out to the pharmacy you got it off if you are worried? X

Yeah the lack of cues has felt strange! When I had covid ages ago I can remember losing sense of taste , which was awful as I didnt feel hungry then and because there was no taste I didnt want to eat. At least it wasn't like that when eating today. I still enjoyed my food.. just didnt feel the need to shovel it in! Lol

Im thinking this sensation could be the start of the aches, will see how I feel in the morning and will drop a message to the clinic. Im not overly worried but don't want to ignore something that could be an issue.

ymemanresu · 25/04/2025 06:38

Morning and Happy Friday everyone! here’s to a good weekend.

I slept really well last night and my legs ache a bit which i think is due to my big increase in steps so still feeling good W1D6 and appetite is still suppressed

wlinewbie0425 · 25/04/2025 06:56

Good morning @ymemanresuand everyone. Good to hear you are still feeling well further on.

I’ve woken up feeling ok, possibly every so slightly queasy, like the queasy I get around ovulation time that’s like a very mild morning sickness feeling. Very minor though. Same super dull headache is also still around but again so mild it’s not really bothering me. I am still extremely thirsty too.

SparklyGlitterballs · 25/04/2025 07:35

I'm now W1D5. My appetite is decreased but not completely gone, which suits me at the moment. Whereas before I'd be clock watching and thinking "is it time to eat again yet?", I'm now not so bothered and can quite easily look at the time and realise I'm way over my usual meal time.

Yesterday I had a small portion of cereal for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and some chicken and veggies for dinner. Had an apple and a few grapes during the day too.

I'd like to get in the habit of weighing myself just once a week, but I gave in this morning and weighed when I got up.....4.5 pounds off! I'm pleased with that.

So far my only side effects are huge fluid output (constantly going to loo but have weak bladder anyway) and a bit of constipation. Once or twice I've had a very brief dizzy spell. What are others taking to relieve constipation?

Chunkysewist · 25/04/2025 07:48

I'm not feeling total food suppression, for me it's more 'meh I can take it or leave it', I don't really think about food much. I was hungry for my tea but filled up quickly and wanted nothing after it.

@SparklyGlitterballs im doing a teaspoon of Calfig a day. Just to see if something natural can help. Failing that I've read glycerine suppositories are good 🫣 think I'd try some senna first though 😊

Chunkysewist · 25/04/2025 07:49

What collagen is everyone using?
