New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

@TryingMJ - Your pen doesn't have to be refrigerated once its open, so if you want to take it with you, you can without having to use a shared fridge. Can you order the next pen early so it's in the fridge before you go?

I’ve had all the same debates in my head! I’m on 3.75mg now so I was thinking I’d probably be on 5mg by then and thought I’d maybe go back down to 2.5/3.75mg for a couple of weeks when I’m back re at her than jump back in at 5mg. I’ve worked out that I should either be finishing off a pen or taking the first dose a new pen just before I go away, so that’s okay because I won’t need an order to arrive while away. BUT… it does mean I’ll need to leave a pen in the fridge and I don’t really want my neighbour who feeds the cats to see it. She’s a good friend and I’ve not told her I’m on MJ because she’s expressed quite negative views about WLIs. So I need to find a way to hide it in the fridge (where she’ll need to go because it’s where we keep the cat food) 🫣

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 11/05/2025 18:15

Quick update, will cat h up later.
Weigh day today and I've lost 2lbs. I'm happy with that, as it wasn't looking likely mid week.

So....
SW 17st 2
CW 15st 3
Tw 11st 7
Weigh in 8 - 2lb
Total loss - 27lbs!!

I'm so happy, I need to keep reminding myself how far I've come in such a short time.

Next target is 2st so I'm only 1lb away, and then Under 15st..

CallMeStella · 11/05/2025 18:16

Hi lovelies

Sorry I haven't been around but I have been trying to dip in to keep up with our chat.

I’ve officially lost a stone today despite not trying hard enough, started MJ on 24 March. But that does mean I’m almost 2 stone down from my heaviest weight around Christmas time. Still a bloody long way to go 🤣

I’ve had a lot of stress and being unwell lately, hopefully once this improves I can knuckle down. I’d be happy to get back into 18s easily, that’s my summer goal for now!

I’m on the 5mg but have been splitting the dose each week, some days I have 0 SE, others I can’t eat much and have some nausea/headaches. I haven’t had time to think about my dosage cos of everything else going on so I’ll stay as I am for the time being.

I hope you’re all doing well and noones suffering from terrible SEs anymore 🙏🏼❤️

Afternoon all bit of late update from em as we were away on holiday this week. Weighted in this morning and I have 5lb off so happy to be in the 11 stones in now

SW 14 stone
CW 11 stone 9lb
GW 9 Stone 5

Now to start my second round of 5mg. All good no major side effects.

@babyhandsrobin hope ur doing good,

Hey! Check you out, you’re doing amazingly well! Slower for me unfortunately. I shouldn’t have repeated 2.5g for month 2, as I’ve been stuck at 12.4 for nearly 2 weeks. So 1 stone in nearly 8 weeks. Still pleased with it but want to push on and get the 2nd stone off. Took first 5mg dose yesterday and already feel different so hoping to get the graph moving downwards again. Saw a fb post the other day where someone had lost 4 stone in 3 months, which makes me feel like a right slacker 😂but a few photos taken recently have shown a difference in my face so pleased with that too. Curious to see how the next week goes on the 5 - sooooo want to be drop into the 11stones!!

Aww ur doing great when I fist moved to 5mg my weight loss dropped to about 3lb a week u till this week but I find it a lot stronger than the 2.5 think once I’m in the 10 stone I’ll drop the dose back lol. Ur loosing steady which is good 😊

@seasidehunter mines in an empty tomato puree box in the fridge in the salad drawer if that helps! Surely she's not going to open food packets?

Honestly I believe half of social media posts and video’s especially when they mention or show who they brought it from!

I think the upper range on this group is around 1st every 4 weeks mid range around 1 st every 6 weeks and loads of slower ones

it also depends on your starting weight and goal weight , like myself I had in total 6-7 st to loose and aming for 5 kg/ 12 lb every calendar month any more than that wouldn’t be sustainable as it’s gonna take hopefully 8 months in total to reach my target

as PP mentioned for me as well 5 mg was much stronger and lost more first 4 weeks on 5mg than I did on 2.5 mg , for some users bigger looses don’t come until higher doses (I’m still on 5mg from a 7.5 pen week 10)

its a marathon not a sprint (I also get jealous of the bigger losers but then remind myself of my own goals :))

Can you not store it in an empty ice cream or butter tub with a lid, or some other opaque box she's not likely to look in?

I like this idea. I don’t think she’ll be that desperate for tomato puree that she’ll want to borrow some 🤪

Hello to all you amazing inspirational people!

I haven't posted before but have read every single post and followed the thread daily. Everyone is doing so well.

I took my first jab on 2nd March did 9 weeks at 2.5 (tried for week 10 too but pen wouldn't work for golden dose as first one did and I didn't have syringes) I've just finished week 1 on 5mg and overall my journey has been great. I have had some nausea which hasn't been nice, and some burps but it sulphery. Other than that no negative side effects. I have had positive ones though. Not a single IBS symptoms or flare up in 10 weeks! And the clearest skin I've ever had!

I've also lost 1st 9lb which is obviously the main goal here! I'd like to lose at least another 2 st maybe 2.5 but we'll see.

So many NSV this week for me. I work remotely and someone I work with but haven't seen online for ages video called me last week and noticed I'd lost weight! A parent at my son's rugby club also noticed on the same day (best day ever!) Got all my summer clothes out and things that haven't fit for 2 years now do! And some are even too big. And best ever is that I went out today, wore a dress and totally forgot to put my anti chaffing stick on the tops of my thighs! This would usually be a disaster and I'd have raw and red inner thighs right now, but to my amazement nothing! Not even mild discomfort 🎉 I'm going to share a picture comparison of me I January at my daughters 18th and me today just because for the first time in forever I feel happy in my own skin!!!

I know I'm still not slim but I'm genuinly so thrilled with how I looked going out today!

Thank you x
I actually couldn't believe how round and puffy my face was back in January! You could hardly see my eyes when I smiled.

I would say I've lost inches everywhere but definately more from my face/chest and then bum/thighs! Why does it never just drop off the waist! I wore shoes with an ankle strap today too and they needed to be about 3 holes tighter that last summer. I really don't care about having skinny ankles 🤦‍♀️

Outsidebeanshop · 12/05/2025 00:23

i Started mid-March and have lost a stone. I would never have been able to lose that without MJ so I’m very grateful.

However, I feel like I LOOK AWFUL. And I feel pretty awful most of the time too. I look grey, wrinkly, my neck is the worst, I guess it’s from losing the weight but I don’t feel it’s dropped particularly fast? I’ve tried using retinol but I swear I look about 20 years older in the last month.

I often feel dizzy, generally nauseous, I haven’t had a normal poo since I started and I’m just wondering is it worth it. But I really need to lose weight.

taking the MJ and finally starting to lose weight has made me realise how little I need to eat to lose weight (I work a VERY LONG hours desk job so hardly move all day) and I just won’t be able to manage it without the MJ - I don’t know what to do

SharpOpalNewt · 12/05/2025 05:41

Sorry to read that, @Outsidebeanshop . I'd have a look at your nutritional balance and see whether you might need any supplements. I tend to just have iron and collagen, which I was already taking anyway, and occasionally magnesium. Also see if you can fit exercise into your day.

Have you been measuring your waist? You might be pleasantly surprised.

I've lost about 17lbs now, weight loss is slower but still happening and I still want to lose a stone.

@outsidebeanshop i feel for you and also identify with you! I've become hyperthyroid while also getting low blood pressure on Mounjaro and my neck is scrawny too. Dizziness is likely low blood pressure. It must be very frustrating to have a job that won't allow you to support yourself. The following has helped for me::

  1. supplements. Iron for fatigue (I've always had low iron). A friend on wegovy fainted and it turned out to be iron deficiency as she'd changed her diet so much. Also Zinc and magnesium and calcium (I have low calcium anyway but I've been eating much less dairy)
  2. collagen in the morning for joint supoort
  3. drinking loads and loads of water and if I feel lightheaded water with a pinch of salt and sugar (home made electrolytes) or anelectrolyte drink. this is really important if you are dizzy you might have low blood pressure (go and get a local chemist to measure it for you). Mounjaro lowers blood pressure so this is likely. It's amazing how tired and lightheaded this can make you feel.
  4. exercise. I'm doing Pilates, couch to 5k and basic resistance and walking 10k a day This has definitely made me feel more full of colour and verve. Make sure you have protein beforehand and carbs after. Is there any way yoh can incorporate this into your work life - an hour walk at lunch time? Fifteen minutes resistance training YouTube a day video in morning or after work? Getting if bus a few stops early?
  5. dont cut carbs! Even if that means lentils and wholemeal bread and sweet potatoes. They're important - particularly if you're exercising. It's really easy to mistakenly run on empty with Mounjaro.
  6. have you tried a few reset days to tackle your stomach? I found cutting out dairy (I'd developed temporary fat intolerance!) and having a typical BRAT diet for a few days with lots of water and electrolyte drinks finally cracked it after three weeks.
  7. if you feel really awful you can stop.
  8. Don't go up a dose and if you have gone up consider tirating down?

I really hope you feel better soon.

I haven't to be fair! It definately has got smaller I can tell that by clothes fitting that didn't I guess its just more that in my head if all the weight had gone from my waist I feel like I'd be happier with fat ankles than tummy 😅

@Outsidebeanshop So sorry to hear you are feeling so rubbish! What dose are you on? While on 2.5 I had a few weeks where I just felt completely exhausted that's for sure. I was napping in the day on weekends and my non working days. Work days were really hard to get through and I'd need to go to bed as soon as I got in. I'm sorry I dont have any advice as not really sure what I changed but I'm definately feeling better now. Hopefully some of what @Flamethrowers has suggested will be helpful x

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 12/05/2025 07:45

Last night I was in a horror movie, starring me and my toilet and the film was called the exorcist with what was coming out of me 💩

I woke up not feeling well at 3am went down to make some peppermint tea! I have only had 2 bouts but I am scared it will happen again.

I know it was what I ate yesterday and it was too fatty. I went out for lunch at a pub I had a delicious tomato and mozzarella salad, I think that the mozzarella was to high in fat. I will learn.

Thank you so much for this advice, I think you’re right about all of it!

I need to focus on nutrition - I have just remembered that this is one thing I was actually worried about before I started it, as in how to make sure you get enough nutrition when eating a lot less, and I have just taken my eye off the ball with it I think. I have probably also slipped to eating my old style food but just not much of it, so curries, pasta dishes, chicken & chips, so not great really, I need to get back to my fresh light plainer foods, will remind myself of the BRAT diet and focus on those foods - thanks for this reminder, I guess I have slipped without really noticing, no wonder I look ill. I haven’t even been remembering to take my vitamins! 😂

Can I ask what collagen supplements you are taking? I started looking a couple
of weeks ago but got overwhelmed with the choice and parked it.

great tips for exercise, I know I need to be doing it - must prioritise 15 mins for me!!!!

im only on 5mg and definitely staying on that for the foreseeable, or yeh maybe even down to 2.5 - I’ll probably try that before stopping but that’s an option too

thanks again for this message, encouragement and boost - all is not lost! X

Oh no! I can sympathise, I have been having this…… a lot…… so is it really that badly triggered by fatty foods? Even mozerella? God, no wonder I have been suffering then!

is the best diet a low fat diet? I feel like I need to go back to basics and read all my info from the start again 🙈

hope your tummy settles down! x

@Ellliebelle the difference in those two photos is brilliant! Well done. The change in your face is unmistakeable.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader urgh, sorry to hear that. While some things are more obvious I've given up trying to 100% predict what will cause issues. I hope you improve soon.

@TheBossOfMe fab NSV with the skort. I cannot wait to be able to dig things out of "hopeful" storage that might actually fit again. Keeping them no longer feels deluded.

@Outsidebeanshop While some things are more obvious, I've given up trying to exactly predict what will cause issues. I swear last week it was lettuce leaves percolating in my stomach all night that made me vom first thing. Eggs are supposed to be a risk for sulphur burps but they've been a lifesaver for me. It's a lot of trial and error really

Jab 8 day today and also visit pharmacy for next (third) pen appointment and pickup (due to permanent issues getting deliveries safely to my house I wanted to be able to pick up, plus also have a bit of extra support on the way. I like the f-t-f although it's not compulsory after the 1st appointment - I could just whatsapp, email or phone). I'm definitely going to stick at 5mg.

Weighed myself for the appointment and I am in the 15s!! By one pound. 15st 13lb. That's 19lb in 7 weeks. I'll take it.
