@daffodilandtulip ouch!! I think realising that this is a physiological problem and not a personal failing has been a game changer for me!

There is nothing to ‘sort out’. I am not ‘weaker’ or ‘lesser’ or ‘whatever’ than slim people. I simply have a medical condition that makes my brain and my body want more food than I need to function!!

Don't get me wrong, I am still very self-critical and way harder on myself than I am on anyone else, but I now know that my obesity is not, and never has been, my fault!

Hopping on to update.

I had a stash of MJ that lasted until mid February and I maintained at between 10st 5 and 10st 7 for probably 6months or so.

Once I ran out I moved to wegovy as I’m in a financially worse position this year so the cost is a re struggle. Didn’t take a break.

And since then have gone up to 11st 2! Because Wegovy has had little effect in terms of suppression so far, or anything. I’ve moved to 1mg this week and have had side effects burps followed by diarrhoea but I don’t feel any suppression at all.

Ill keep trying Wegovy but might end up having to go back to MJ, somehow… just keep hoping costs come down again!

Oh god that sucks - so sorry Jomo. It seems to be a common story sadly

There was a story on the BBC earlier this week about Zepbound prices being slashed in the US (that's their Mounjaro brand name). Hopefully that might mean they'll come down here too soon.

What dose were you doing when you stopped? I've managed to get down to 5mg and now trying 3.75mg so at least it's not as eye watering as 12.5mg was ...

Megarea · 30/05/2026 09:05

After gaining and losing the same 5lbs for about a year I've finally gone to 15mg and dear god I had forgotten how actual suppression feels, my meals have halved which is making my main goal of getting sufficient fibre more difficult so I may have to start a fibre supplement. Anyone got any good recommendations?

Impossiblyme · 30/05/2026 09:16

I’m exactly a week away from my two year anniversary.

I lost six stone, reclaiming my heath and self confidence in the process, and it’s thanks to all the wonderful people on these boards. I would never have even known about WLI otherwise.

I’m still on Mounjaro, and can’t see myself coming off anytime soon, maintaining at bmi 24 (down from over 40!).

How is everyone else getting on after two years?

Bitezbabe · 31/05/2026 09:01

Nearly 2 years for me too. Lost over 3 stone and trying to maintain by having 5mg every 10 days. Weight goes up and down a few lbs. Not really feeling any suppression and finding I’m snacking and eating more. Not sure 5 mg is working but loath to up my dose. Feel I need to get on top of my cravings and cut down on my calories. Hard as it’s been so good not to have that food noise and now it’s creeping back!!!

Two years for me now. I never quite reached goal as I plateaued in September 2025 and have gained and lost the same three or four pounds ever since. (I'm still trying!) So I can say I'm maintaining with a desire to reduce still - 'technically' I'm still overweight as my BMI is just over 26 but I look fine. I would love to drop those last 10lb though. My body just doesn't seem to want to do it.

However I did lose almost 6 stones and its the best thing I've ever done. I'm still on 15mg although I've never been able to withstand it all at once so I have 7.5mg every 4 days. I never imagined I'd be a size 12. I am out and about a lot more these days and the pain I have from my osteoarthritis is much reduced. I do two dance classes a week which I love and walk every day.

My son (19) is also on it and lost about 3 1/2 stone and feels much better about himself.

I don't ever want to come off it but realistically its a massive chunk of money every month. However if someone had told me when I was bigger that if I spent 300 quid or thereabouts a month to be guaranteed to not be fat any more, I would have accepted that in a heartbeat - and I still feel the same way.

daffodilandtulip · 02/06/2026 07:58

I’m still on it for maintenance. I’m staying on it and hoping the pills take off to bring the cost down. I’m interested in all the recent research about other things it is preventing, as have lots of family history, despite being a healthy person myself.

BMI is 20, at 7st 6. I’ve really enjoyed buying summer clothes this year. But I do still struggle not to see the fat person in the mirror

underthunderalwaysawake · 04/06/2026 16:41

Hello all, been wondering how all the fellow June 24 starters are doing. Can you believe it's been 2 years already?!

Has anybody come off completely successfully? I'm currently maintaining at 5mg- what happened was my weight loss basically stopped at 67kg- just below bmi 25. I knew to lose any more I'd have to restrict even more calories, and honestly I'm not prepared to do that, I just can't eat any any less without being seriously miserable.

I'm not sure what the long term plan is. I tried taking less than 5mg for a few weeks and I was so hungry so I've gone back to 5. I'm maintaining on about 1800 calories a day. I do strength straining at least 5 days a week and have a high protein diet. I thought I could taper down and come off slowly but starting to think that might not be possible.

Interested to hear any updates.

TempusFuckit · 04/06/2026 17:58

Hi!

So I'm firmly at target now, fluctuating between 9st 8lb and 9st 11lb. I've been tapering down since about Jan, and am now taking 2.5mg every fortnight.

I'm really hoping the pills bring the price right down again. Happy to inject indefinitely but can't afford to carry thus on at current prices for too much longer really

I'm not eating nearly as much as I used to, but very happy with that. Finding it quite fun finding nutrient dense stuff to add back in.no idea how many calories I'm doing a day mind you.

Main difference is how much more active I'm able to be. Walking everywhere, unless I'm cycling, 10k run every week, weights - and we just bought kayaks. No way I could have done that two years ago.
