Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

Injection 10 for me today.
11.9 kg down which is just 2lb shy of losing 2 stone. I’m taking my victories in both imperial and metric.

I’m still on 50 clicks (4.17mg). I might try the full 5 mg next week. I’ve gone up slowly because I’ve had strong nausea and fatigue moving up, although I’ve been ok the last two weeks.

Easter has been ok. I cooked a roast lamb dinner on Saturday and had a bit of everything, including a small pudding. Then buffet at family’s yesterday and again a bit of everything, but less than I would have eaten overall. That felt like a happy medium of not missing out but not being gluttonous. No Easter egg for me, didn’t really fancy it. I got a bag of dark chocolate covered sour cherries instead so I can have one or two at a time.

Shotsy has told me I’ve lost 10% of my total body weight now. When I was doing Slimming World ages ago I can remember that losing 10% of your body weight had all kinds of positive effects, none of which I can remember exactly anymore. But I’m glad for the win.

Hi, I haven't been on the last couple of threads but have found you all again!

I've moved to 7.5mg and it seems to work really well for me. Side effects are minimal, food noise is very reduced. I'm losing weight slowly and steadily, which is fine, I don't really want to lose much weight and my BMI is now under 25 (just!).

I would quite happily stick with 7.5mg but gather it's a titration dose not an approved one, so presumably I'll have to move up to 10mg for my next pen. Or can I stick with 7.5 even though it's not an "official" dose?

I suppose it depends on which provider you are with. I’ve ordered 7.5mg for my last 2 pens without any trouble (though am currently only taking a 5mg dose). If you are with one of the subscription models such as voy or shemed you seem to have less control over your doses.

madroid · 21/04/2025 12:39

If it's no more expensive it makes sense to get higher dose pens then just do less clicks to get to the dose you want?

sweetpickle2 · 21/04/2025 08:45

I’ve been very silly and miscounted my pen- went to take my “4th” dose this morning and it wouldn’t turn enough, got as far as filming a video to send an angry message to my supplier, then did my matches and realised it’s cos it’s my bonus dose! Have got some needles coming from Amazon today so I’ll take it later tonight instead and get my new pen ordered asap, but feel very silly!

Syringes from Amazon are really not recommended. You need to get them from a pharmacy.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 21/04/2025 13:14

@Slowrunning it's prescribed by my GP so she decides if I should go up a dose. I don't know if NICE guidelines allow GPs to prescribe the "step up" doses on a longer term basis

@WLINewbie Our estrogen levels decrease as we lose fat which can cause hormonal/mood fluctuations.

I am post surgical menopause and my moods were great until I started Mj. I find walking helps clear my head but that doesn't necessarily help at the time.

100%, I spent most of my 20s on anti depressants until I stopped hormonal contraception and the black dog went with them. Never noticed changes in mood related to weight loss personally and I keep a very close eye on things.

Sugar has always been the ultimate mood lifter for me, was worried when I started MJ how I'd cope with stress etc but been OK so far except the odd anxiety bursts. Saying that, mj has done nothing for my sweet tooth!

MynameisJune · 21/04/2025 14:07

Jab 10 day for me -

SW pre MJ - 208lb
SW MJ - 187lb
CW - 172lb
TW - 147lb ish
Height 5’8

Lost around 1.5lb this week, but it’s TOTM so didn’t even expect a loss. Cannot remember the last time I didn’t put 3-4lb on over my period and then take another 2+ weeks to lose it.

Another NSV for me personally, my period arrived on time. And even though it’s kicking my behind because it’s the first proper period I’ve had in 7 months. I’m so happy it arrived on time and it’s a proper period. It means that the better diet, plus MJ is helping to balance my hormones. Which I’m ecstatic about as I’m only 40 and it seemed very early for peri/menopause. I’ve always struggled with hormonal imbalance due to PCOS resulting in PMDD that was medicated for a while. But this is really helping. And that’s huge for me.

My order with Zava was approved however they didn't ask for any proof that I was already taking Mounjaro - would that be because they supply for Asda, who I previously ordered with? Just found it strange that they would approve a 7.5mg order without supporting docs.

When I moved to Zava from Asda - I had to send new pics but didn’t have to go through the extra back and forth due to medical condition. I do remember thinking I didn’t need to send pics but the request was there just not super obvious. But if you’ve been approved then would assume that is ok.

I’ve used the Amazon ones for my golden dose before and they’ve been fine. Also no chance of getting any from a pharmacy on bank holiday Monday!

It's a risk buying from amazon though. There is no guarantee they will be medical grade or sterilised properly ( if you read the adverts they are advertised for kitchen or laboratory use rather than human use). Safer to buy from an online pharmacy where you can guarantee they will be manufactured and sterilised correctly.

sweetpickle2 · 21/04/2025 19:07

Well they’ve arrived and I’ve jabbed now so what will be will be.

Im not suggesting anyone else does.

DiamondEyes976 · 21/04/2025 19:37

The risks people on here take just to save a bit of money, ffs. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Zibb · 21/04/2025 20:06

Oh, I did something a bit silly.

On Friday night I ordered some new walking trousers and lightweight jacket, as a little reward for my hard work so far. Just checked the confirmation email and I've ordered them in a size 24.

24!! That's what I was wearing 20kg ago. I guess my brain was just on autopilot!

A crazy NSV too - I've lost a shoe size! Gone from an 8 to a 7. My feet just slip slide about in my walking boots, no matter the thickness of my socks or how I lace them.

Bluehels · 21/04/2025 21:11

Hey great to hear lots of people having positive news!

just wondering if anyone has experienced a small red mark around the injection site? Ive had it now for my last two jabs coinciding with an increase of nausea. Currently on week 4 of 7.5mg

I didn’t do it to save money, I did it to be able to inject on my jab day. Amazon deliver same day, online pharmacies do not.

I am not suggesting anyone else does it, or advocating for Amazon needles. I’ve used them before with no problems, and cleaned the needle with an alcohol pad. I wish I’d never bloody mentioned where I bought them from ffs!

Mounjaroday · 21/04/2025 21:15

@Zibb! My shoes are too big, too!! 😂

It's crazy isn't it! I didn't realise that could happen.

hennybeans · 21/04/2025 21:31

@ZibbAs someone who has a size 9 foot, I dream of losing a shoe size! Sadly, despite the rest of my body being so, my feet are not fat. They’re rather long and bony, but I can dream.

In all likelihood it will be fine. I just wanted to point out to people the risks of using Amazon so people avoid it if they can. It wasn't meant as a dig at you.

I think I would prefer long and bony feet. More elegant. Despite getting a bit smaller mine still look like hobbit feet!

Crosspatchy · 21/04/2025 23:54

OMG I have been so hungry today, my worst day since being on MJ. It felt like the old days when I was constantly thinking about eating and I haven’t lost any weight this week. I am due my third 7.5 tomorrow so maybe that’s why. I am wondering, having looked at a couple of posts, whether I should decrease to 5mg but do every 6 days. Is anyone else feeling this hungry at this stage?

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 22/04/2025 06:54

Not here un/fortunately @Crosspatchy

I had one glass of champagne yesterday and feel like I drunk at least 3 times that. Very unpleasant feeling.

Last week we were discussing how we felt some medications didn't feel as strong whilst on Mj.
That really resonated with me so today I've taken some medication on an in theory empty stomach rather than with breakfast. There is no way I'd do this normally but I will be pleased if it gives the medication more of a chance to do its thing. I shall report back if anyone is interested...

aylis · 22/04/2025 08:25

A wee NSV for me. Starting on Mounjaro I was squeezing into some size 16s and mostly mens L size clothes, I was clearly a size 18 but refusing to buy anything in that size. I must have looked like an actual sausage.

I recently bought a dress from Next and all the reviews said they were made small, so I decided in my new truth era to buy the 18. It felt so uncomfortable on and I realised it was too big. So I ordered the 16 but was too afraid to try it on for over a week. I've now done so and it fits perfectly! A small 16!

Shefliesonherownwings · 22/04/2025 08:36

Hi all, can I ask about those that have noticed lower moods after injecting? DH started on the 5mg and his mood is noticeably lower the day after injecting and for the next couple of days. This week is particularly bad.

He has suffered with depression and we have both experienced some significant trauma over the past few years but he was doing really well, not on any meds. Now however his mood is very bad. I’ve seen this once before when he had a severe reaction to a migraine medication but he stopped that and was then ok. This time he won’t accept it’s the injections but also won’t tell me what’s wrong (another story I know!).

Just wondered how others have been combatting the low moods? Lower the dosage maybe? It’s getting to the point of really affecting family life.
