Mounjaro Feb 2025 starters (thread 5!)

Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

Mine is too and I wonder if the very low calories I am having is the cause. I’m struggling to reach 900 most days. Is this the same for you?

sweetpickle2 · 27/05/2025 18:04

900 calories is far too low for every single day @Seventyandcounting- assuming you are responding to the hair loss issue, this won't be the only problem you're setting yourself up for if you consistently eat that few calories each day. Aside from anything else, you will struggle to maintain when you taper down/come off the jabs.

If you aren't hungry enough for a lot of food, can you maybe try and ensure the food you are eating is more calorie dense?

skyscrapersinging · 27/05/2025 18:26

Me! I’m pretty happy with everything else, but belly fat is really annoying. I’ve got about 6kg (a stone) to my dream weight and the damn belly is the last thing to go, clearly.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 27/05/2025 18:59

Has anyone else had a reaction at their injection site? My last 3 have left a large, itchy red lump like an insect bite. Not sure if it’s different needles causing it.

aylis · 27/05/2025 19:08

Does anyone have recommendations for changing supplier again? Started off with Asda, and currently use Zava. The switch was really easy but looking at the code website I'm looking at £170 for the 10mg pen whereas some others have it for £130-£140. I'd prefer another easy switch. Numan and IQ Doctor look the cheapest but I don't know if they're any good.

Zibb · 27/05/2025 19:23

I just ordered from Numan. It was easy and quick and they did a little check in with an actual person which was nice. So the customer service is nice but without the £100 off I probably wouldn't order from them again. Hoping the price tracking site will list my referral code so it gets used 😅

Hangryfastjo · 27/05/2025 19:26

I've used IQ doctor for 3 of 4 pens. I have found them good, no problems. But they stopped the higher discount codes for returning customers. It was 20% and its dropped to 15% now. New customers is 23%. I emailed them yesterday to see if they would price match a 10mg pen for me (they say they do price match), they haven't got back to me yet, but I don't need it for 3 weeks. I'm going with 10mg, but may only take 7.5mg doses from it

sc0ttishlass · 27/05/2025 20:14

Yes re the squishy tummy and i also now 'hold' it a lot. It was so bloated before it's totally different.

Yes re the wind too. Pretty much gone! In general I think my toilet habits seem better (apart from if I eat red meat)..

Im really wishing I coukd be on this forever as I just feel better. Has anyone read anyhing about any progress in terms of 'pill' type mounjaro which would make it more accessible? I haven't, just wondering.

I do have calorie dense food including mixed nuts and avocado and I like cheese so I am trying to fit in snacks if calories go too low and aim for over 1000 but appetite is quite low. I was trying to lose weight for a year before on 1400 cals and was maintaining on that.

Morning all. Week 16 jag Day.

First time I've stayed the same. Obviously disappointed but accepting of it. It was my birthday at weekend and I've had cake a few times and 2 bags of percy pigs amongst other things. I weight daily and had lost every day till todsy so I'm sure will sort itself out but annoying all the same! Ordered next pen, first one of 7.5.

Starting weight 13 stone 5lb
Current weight 10 stone 12
Goal somewhere below BMI of 25 (10.1lb or lower)

Ps @Mounjaroday meant to say, I belive each thread can go up to 40 pages as I've been checking it out on others so can keep till then. I know we weren't sure at start.

Ps can anyone believe the number of days they have stuck go this? Day 112 for me.

I remember looking at the November starters thread when I started and wishing I was them. We're there now!!!

Zibb · 28/05/2025 14:51

102 days for me!

I remember getting an advert for juniper in November and thinking about signing up but ultimately chickened out due to cost and telling myself it wouldn't work for someone like me.

I wish I had just done it! I'd probably be almost done now and I'd be experiencing my first summer at a healthy size in 15 years. Can't even remember what it's like to not be a sweaty mess wearing long sleeves and trousers in a heat wave.

Still, I'm glad I finally started and sometimes I still can't believe it's working for me! This time next year I'll be wearing shorts and vest tops and that's a nice thought.

So many of you are nearing your goals! How does it feel?? Must be exciting!

sweetpickle2 · 28/05/2025 15:10

92 days for me!

True to form, after a day of elation at being at my goal weight, I'm already feeling bloated and like clothes fit me lumpy and weird even though I am undeniably down two dress sizes. Old habits die hard!

aylis · 28/05/2025 15:15

96 days for me, works out at losing 1lb every 3 days which is decent. I feel like I haven't lost anything though because I stalled on my last weigh in! I feel like I'm going to look at the scale at the weekend and it will say it was all a bad joke and I've not actually lost anything 😅

SW 17.3
CW 15.8
= 1st 9lbs lost (hopefully never to return!) woo hoo 🙌

starting the 7.5mg pen tomorrow (currently hiding in the veg drawer of the fridge under a courgette!) 🤫

Catmum100 · 28/05/2025 16:46

113 days for me! 22.5lb down. Im losing 1lb a week, slower than some, but it's consistent. I'm still on 5mg and happy there, no side effects, zero appetite or food noise (so I have learned to eat regardless, but can happily choose protein and veg based food). What's great is just knowing I'll get to where I need to be eventually... before the jab I was gaining weekly despite trying to eat well and exercising regularly. I've gone from a tight size 16 to a comfortable 14, sometimes 12.

And my pens are also stored in the veg drawer where my teenager won't find them 🤣

FunnyCrabDance · 28/05/2025 16:53

Lol i also keep unopened pens in the veg drawer!
108 days here, really surprised how fast its gone, not quite at the half way point yet so probably at least another 108 days to go.
Liking 7.5 still, although the suppression is quite strong for 5 days, a bit too strong maybe? Struggling to think of meals I want to eat.

Is Numan a subscription service? I'm just looking at it now and it looks like a monthly thing. I'm not paying £200 next month!!

I tried to log in to Pillsorted but it wouldn't let me set up a password so they're not getting my money.

Yes it is a subscription but you can cancel after the first month. DH and I used them a couple of times with voucher codes but you do have to make sure you cancel the subscription otherwise they just send out the next dose automatically. It’s easy enough to cancel.

sc0ttishlass · 28/05/2025 20:59

Hi all. Thanks for sharing number of days on this miracle potion! Loved seeing that.
Had a question, I can't remember who was talking about this. I'm 11lb away from top of healthy BMI..i have tried many diets for over 20 years and once, about 10 years ago I did get to about this point with SW and then put several stone on..so I don't think I've been lower than this since my teenage years. I'm worried that my body stops here as it thinks that's the norm. Is that a thing? If so, is there anyhing to do to stop it from happening or just keep going as normal! X

It is a subscription but I've just paused it which was literally just the click of a button.

I wouldn't do it if you don't need a higher level of support but the £100 off was too good to miss for me!

Set point theory is a thing but if you just keep going you and don't let a plateau get you down you'll continue to lose.

I don't think I really believe it, it's just much harder to lose weight when you've only a little bit to go.

sc0ttishlass · 28/05/2025 22:25

@Zibb set point theory that's it! Ill look it up but think you are right..Will just keep going as is! Thank you

I'm currently the lowest (adult) weight I've ever been. BMI is 23 something. For years the lowest I've got to is about 3lb heavier and what I thought was my set point was about 7lb above that. So MJ has got me lower, I'd like to lose a few pounds more so I have wiggle room for maintenance
