Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

Weighed in at 87.8kg this morning. That is 27.6kg/60lb down. I am almost at the half way point. That makes me feel a bit more motivated. I can do this!

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 17/05/2025 18:07

Well done @Mounjaronewbie25 I hope to join you in that category very soon. I'm sitting on exactly 30.0 at the moment.

Does anyone else find the hunger on Mounjaro much easier to control? I don't have much satiety left which makes sense as today is day 4 and my dose is low. I guess the negligible bit of Mj still helps a lot...

Ke11 · 17/05/2025 19:15

I took some up to date progress pictures today, I can see the difference and I'm still only about half way. I have 24-26kg to go to get to a bmi under 25.

@ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret yes, I find it much easier to 'ignore' hunger now. I notice I'm hungry but also think, it's OK I can wait another hour for lunch, without getting hangry. Before I would have been stuffing my face with sweets or junk between meals and never actually feeling hungry.

@Ke11 amazing weight loss there - just look at how much your tummy has shrunk!

Re: the jab/ jag thing - I'd literally never heard "jag" used in this sense before, but just stumbled across this same debate on another thread 😂 for full disclosure I'm in the SE and have never been further north than Middlesbrough...

In other news, have definitely overdone it with the food today and feel uncomfortably full 😕 had a mojito as well which probably doesn't help! But hey ho, tomorrow's another day and those 'overeating' days help me establish the limits of my body and my hunger.

What a difference! You must feel great, well done!

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 18/05/2025 06:32

Thanks @Ke11 that's good to know. Hope you are happy with the progress you are making too.

Happy to finally be in the overweight bmi club. Only just at 29.9 but a win is a win.

OntheTrainX · 18/05/2025 07:49

@Ke11 brilliant! A real difference.

SpiralSister · 18/05/2025 08:21

Morning lovelies! A day late to weigh in, because I’ve been on holiday. Despite several (ahem) glasses of wine, lovely meals out etc, I’ve maintained this week, which I’m more than comfortable with. Plus I’ve lost another 0.5 inch off my waist somehow! I think keeping up the water helped..

SW: 15.5, BMI 35.8
CW: 13.1, BMI 30.5 (still obese!)
TL: 2 stone 4 lbs
TW: 10.5, perhaps. That would be a healthy BMI plus some wriggle room

I would really like to see the 12’s this week. Could be doable! And then be into merely overweight in another week or 2.

Came home to a frankly shocking amount of Vinted parcels in a size 14! Honestly, Mounjaro and Vinted. What a time to be alive! 😂

Have a good week ahead, warriors! 💐

SpiralSister · 18/05/2025 08:23

Oh, and bras! I felt a bit funny about buying bras on Vinted, dunno why. But a pp suggested it, so I went with. Loads on there BNWT anyway.

I now have interim uplift at a reasonable price! 😄

eleanorwish · 18/05/2025 08:56

Week 14 Day 2 for me, 2nd week on 7.5mg. I found the effects lasted longer on the new dosage, so I may keep on this dose for a second month. I need to order my next pen soon, so I’m umming and aahing about that. Still losing between 1 and 2lbs a week so still happy with progress
SW 15st 3lbs
CW 13st 10 lbs.
Still waiting for my belly to catch up with my hips so I can go down a size in trousers, but it’s getting there!

Mounjaroday · 16/05/2025 13:19

Feel rotten. Popped over to see a friend last night and we shared a couple of bottles of wine over the course of 5 hours. Clearly my tolerance is much lower than it was as the subsequent hangover today is absolutely punishing. Ow!

@Zibb just wanted to say: hang on in there! You are doing so flipping brilliantly!

@Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse thats a great strategy to shopping - just try a load of stuff on. For the first time in my life I’m diving into shops, grabbing loads of stuff in my size and then just seeing what fits. Have been totally surprised by what looks good. And how FUN shopping can be.

I’ve also stopped being so critical of myself in mirrors. I don’t care about my tummy! I don’t care about my cellulite! Couldn’t give a monkeys about bingo wings! That is so incredibly freeing after 30 years of viciously criticising my body.

Agree with the alcohol thing. Girls evening last Friday with lots of wine. Did expect a bit of a hangover but felt really queasy right through till Sunday afternoon. 😔

Starfish1021 · 18/05/2025 10:20

Haven't posted for a while but really enjoyed reading everyone's progress. It's slow but satisfying, I have very few side effects now, I'm on 10mg, I do wonder if less side effects means slower progress but not stressing too much about that.

In terms of progress:
SW 101.9kg
CW: 88.9kg
Total loss since 15th Feb: 13kg
GW: 78kg

It's hard to think I have another 10kg to go, but just sticking with it and seeing how I go. I do see myself being on some form of these drugs for the rest of my life. All the chat about mother's and not telling them resonates. I'm close to my mum but the weight stuff is awful, she talks constantly about her weight, narratives all day every day whether she has been "good" or not. She is mostly okay with me, although put me on a diet at 14 (I totally blame the 90s diet culture not her), but I did decide not to tell her and feel like it was the best decision. She can see I have lost weight, and is starting to ask questions, but last time I saw her I simply said, I don't want to talk about my weight. It was so liberating. For me the best things about MJ is that it actually just quiets this nonsense. Anyway, sorry for the essay!

aylis · 18/05/2025 13:52

Does anyone get this thing where they're just sitting and they think 'I could eat' and have a brief thought about what to snack on, and then it just completely goes out their head? It's so similar to the random cravings I still have for cigarettes over a decade after quitting - I will have a brief (and sometimes quite intense) feeling like 'I could really go a smoke' and then a minute later it's as if the craving never even existed.

Mounjaroday · 18/05/2025 16:10

Yes. Absolutely.
Although I do need to remember that sometimes the answer is to actually eat!

I have just started on this journey (W3D2 for me - lost 8lb) and I enjoy reading the posts from previous starters who are further down the road and great to see the weight losses and support amongs the cohort.

I have a question regarding the use of the pen and thought this would be the best place to ask :- Does the number of times you can use the pen depend on the number of uses (ie 4 times) or does it depend on the number of 'clicks' used. So theoretically, if you just used 30 clicks x 4 times, would you be able to use the pen another 4 times? (I know there's a shelf life of 30 days)

Zibb · 18/05/2025 17:51

@Ke11 amazing progress!

@Gingefringe the pen can be clicked a maximum of 240 times, no matter what combo you use. So, yes, you could do 8 x 30 clicks.

HoratioBum · 18/05/2025 18:29

@SpiralSisterlol at ‘interim uplift’ ! I’m in the same boat at the moment, need a couple of new bras, so off to Vinted I go...

Todays NSV was fitting into clothes in Zara!

sweetpickle2 · 18/05/2025 18:42

I had a cheeky jump on the scales this morning ahead of official weigh in tomorrow, and I’m now 89kg which means I’m only 1kg from my goal weight. I have one more jab of my 7.5mg pen to do tomorrow, so suspect I will make it to my GW by the time this pen is done. I have a new 7.5mg in the fridge ready to go for next week (decided to stick for now as side effects have been a bit more prominent on this pen) but unsure what to do next. I think my options are-

  • count clicks and microdose the next pen to start tapering down and trying to maintain GW
  • take the pen as normal and set a new GW- 88kg is the weight I was before lockdown when I gained all my weight and was a weight I was very happy in my skin at, but it is still in the overweight category. I have no interest in being skinny (I’ve always been curvy and at 40 I think it would be weird to suddenly be a size 8) but in a month on a new pen I could probably get down a couple more kilos for wiggle room?

Has anyone been in this situation where they’re at GW (or about to be) and planning what to do next?

Crosspatchy · 18/05/2025 19:55

Has anyone taken their dose a couple of days early? Off on holiday tomorrow but I am currently taking 5mg from a 10mg pen, so it will last 2 months and want to keep it in fridge because I will be using it well over 30 days. I thought as I’m only going for a week I could take it early and avoid having to take it away with me.

Ke11 · 18/05/2025 22:53

@Crosspatchy yes, early on I took my 5mg doses at 5/6 days because I felt like it was wearing off too quickly.

I think the official rule is to have a minimum of 4 days between doses.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 19/05/2025 08:31

@sweetpickle2 I've planned how I'm going to taper off and then try life without Mounjaro and see how I go. I'm on a much lower dose though so probably coming at it slightly differently.

NSV doing away with a necklace extender which has been itching my neck of late. I bought the extender several years and 30+ kg ago. Glad to say goodbye to it.

skyscrapersinging · 19/05/2025 08:59

This is my exact plan for my hols too. Can’t see why it wouldn’t be ok. I have both delayed my jab by a day previously and brought it forward to avoid busy work days. I think you just need a minimum of 72 hrs between jabs, if I remember reading the blurb correctly?

skyscrapersinging · 19/05/2025 09:01

I went to Sainsbury’s for a cheap 3 pack of tshirt bras! Current bra shape situation can be described as “rocks in socks”…

Yep it's 72 hours or 3 days with day 1 being the day after the jab.

sweetpickle2 · 19/05/2025 09:52

Thakns @ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret- I realise its a nice problem to have but my GW came along a bit sooner than I thought it would, otherwise I would have started tapering down when I bought my next pen!

Official weigh day-

SW- 107.8kg
CW- 89kg
GW- 88kg

So nice to be in the 80s for the first time since 2019!

I have decided I am going to stick with the new 7.5mg pen as normal from next week, and set myself a new GW of 85kg and see if I can get there by the end of the pen. I thought about it and realised I have been on auto pilot the last few weeks, haven't been very mindful about what I'm eating/how many calories, and just letting the pen do the work. I won't be able to maintain on my own/with a lower dose if I do that, so I'm going to use this pen to actually pay attention to what I'm eating, making sure I'm sticking to my calories, getting my protein, and actually creating a good healthy diet that will serve me in the long run. Then for my next pen I will taper down- 85kg is a rather arbitrary goal at this point, if I don't actually make it to that before I order my next pen then I don't really mind- anything below my current GW of 88kg will be the smallest I've been since I was about 25.

Hope everyone has a good week!
