Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

I also think it's normal to lose a bit more hair as summer approaches?

BMI is exactly 30 this morning. Number on the scales has fluctuated more since I upped my carbs and calories a bit (now about 190g of carbs/1850 calories). Quite interesting actually.

It's 12 weeks since my first jab. I've lost 8kg/17.6lbs. Perfectly happy with that rate.

WoolerOwl · 15/05/2025 06:52

End of conference. Just checking in to say that I’ve eaten a lot of chicken and salad! Planning a bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms breakfast to celebrate! It’s turned out to be fairly easy as the puddings haven’t looked that tempting and I’ve had no access to snacks or alternatives. Looking forward to eighth 5mg jab on Friday and then moving up the following week.

aylis · 15/05/2025 08:33

I didn't expect my first 7.5mg injection to wear off two days before the next one. That's a disappointment. Horses beware.

I am a few weeks into 7.5 and I feel like it's building up in my system?

To begin with, I didn't feel it was any different from 5 which was wearing off for me mid week but I went 8 days between injections this week so that I don't need to take it on a trip (I realise you can but I CBA) and I really felt no particular food noise issues on day 7 to my surprise

TheYouYouAre · 15/05/2025 10:06

13 weeks since starting Mounjaro. Still get a feeling of surprise every time I step on the scales to find I've lost weight. Can't quite wrap my head around the fact that only 3 months ago, I was over 2 stone heavier. The goal weight that I set as a complete pie in the sky number that I couldn't imagine reaching, just wished I could get somewhat closer to there, is now actually in sight. Feels just like a matter of time now rather than an impossibility.

That's interesting, it does feel similar to 5mg so hopefully the effects will build up a bit over time. The ferocity of the hunger this morning was surprising but willpowered my way through it with apples.

Lola50 · 15/05/2025 21:30

I am simply ploughing into some biscuits that are on the table tonight. Clearly suppression is waning! However, I’d add that I no longer feel guilty so that’s my NSV, I guess.

OntheTrainX · 15/05/2025 22:07

Struggling with suppression (lack thereof) a bit after 13 weeks on the jabs. I think I made a mistake sticking at 5mg, should’ve increased to 7.5 last order. I’ve two more in this pen but the next order will be 7.5 definitely. As long as I don’t gain weight in the next fortnight I’ll be happy enough.

WelshRarebit18 · 13/05/2025 18:17

@Crosspatchy That’s good to know. Did you take it in your carry-on bag?

we went on Eurostar so not sure about flying. I would probably do hand luggage but assume you could check the airport regulations

Zibb · 15/05/2025 23:41

I am a bottomless pit today. I've also been struggling to stay within my calories this week in general. Food noise is baaaad. My portions are getting bigger and bigger. My stomach is full but my brain still wants more.

Sadly nutracheck has dropped my calorie allowance to 1400. It's crazy to think that a few weeks ago I was eating 2500 a day and losing 1.8kg a week. Now I'm lucky if I lose 0.5kg a week. And 1400 is so few calories! I don't get any snacks anymore. My TDEE is now 1900 according to the calculator. Sad times.

Considering trying 5mg again although a bit nervous. I have been feeling good ever since going back to 2.5mg. It might be a messed up thing to say but I'd really like to experience the kind of suppression everyone else seems to get; where I eat half a chicken breast and a broccoli floret and feel full and satisfied.

Maybe I just need to get through the 5mg month and 7.5mg might be my sweet spot?

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 16/05/2025 04:49

I'm having very good suppression on 7.5. I'm only losing 1lb a week which is fine as I'm not that bothered about losing weight. I had my bloods done on Wednesday so should get the results this afternoon which is what I'm really interested in. Desperately hoping my HBA1C has dropped.

Maro11 · 16/05/2025 08:35

Good morning everyone

SW 118.8kg
CW 103.1kg

minimal loss this week but still a little which all adds up in the long run

It’s the freedom from constantly thinking about food I’m enjoying most.

Still on 2.5ml with next 2.5ml pen in the fridge

Anyone else gone off certain foods whilst on MJ? I can’t bear eggs at the moment and used to love them, tried again this week and just couldn’t stomach them at all

MrsHero · 16/05/2025 08:36

Week 12 today - total of 1st 4.4lb down, and I haven't weighed this little since 2014!! Bought a gorgeous dress a few months ago which was too tight - fits perfectly now so am going to enjoy wafting around in it today! 😁

Ke11 · 16/05/2025 08:40

I think I'm starting week 15 now?

Sw 116. 5kg
Cw: 96.6kg
Loss this week 2.1kg
Total loss so far: 19.9kg/44lb/3.1stone

I think the big loss this week is from going back to the routine of work so back to regular timed and set meals, not much chance to snack etc, last week I was all over the place with food.

So far so good on 7.5mg, no big issues except my stomach being a bit more sensitive to high fat things like mayo/dip, that gave me quite the stomach ache.

Im going to try and do some updated pictures this week, might post them om here if I'm brave enough

Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse · 16/05/2025 10:27

Morning All - Week 15 Check in.

SW - 247.8LB
CW - 194.4
Total lost 53.4

Have decided to stick on 5mg as suppression still very high, still loosing on a good rate, eating mostly clean but still having a take away once a week - but no where near the amount that i would have done ( i was a main dish and multiple side dish person) where as even my mcdonald's order seems to have changed - was a large big mac meal, 6 nuggets order - now a medium filet of fish person which is a revelation.

Had a couple of days where i had a dirty burger or a Chinese and really suffered the next day with the Sulphur burps so have hopefully learnt my lesson.

NSV - i have a auto immune condition which can effect my skin and joints, but this has all started clearing up and joints in hands are definitely less swollen - can even wear rings now , so am happy as anything.

Bad points - Am really struggling with the what to wear now it is coming into Summer - usually live in baggy jumpers and jeans, but am still no where near where i want to be so don't want to spend a lot on new things and am struggling how to get my head around dressing - think i need to just start making a point of trying on things i would have never of picked up and see what happens.

WoolerOwl · 16/05/2025 11:30

I tried something new today. Sharing in case it's helpful. I was nervous about doing the golden dose in case I messed it up and broke the pen or something. I was keen to move up from 5mg to 7.5mg as I feel much less suppression on this second 5mg pen, and I'm losing much more slowly, though still losing.

So, I did my usual (fourth) shot of 5mg and then used an insulin syringe to extract another 0.24mls, which is equal to about 1.8mg, and I injected that as well. Total 6.8mg. I figured that if I failed with the insulin syringe, at least I'd still had my expected 5mg dose from the quick pen.

It was very easy to do the insulin syringe extraction. I watched a YouTube video which also explained the calculations. It is a bigger and thicker needle, but I barely felt it.

Next week, I will start on the 7.5mg pen. I will definitely do the golden dose as a fifth shot in future weeks.

Weight today 85.25kg. Total loss14.75kg in 11 weeks. Nearly half way there.

BMI currently 28.5. Started at 33/4. Aiming for 23.

Mounjaroday · 16/05/2025 13:19

Feel rotten. Popped over to see a friend last night and we shared a couple of bottles of wine over the course of 5 hours. Clearly my tolerance is much lower than it was as the subsequent hangover today is absolutely punishing. Ow!

@Zibb just wanted to say: hang on in there! You are doing so flipping brilliantly!

@Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse thats a great strategy to shopping - just try a load of stuff on. For the first time in my life I’m diving into shops, grabbing loads of stuff in my size and then just seeing what fits. Have been totally surprised by what looks good. And how FUN shopping can be.

I’ve also stopped being so critical of myself in mirrors. I don’t care about my tummy! I don’t care about my cellulite! Couldn’t give a monkeys about bingo wings! That is so incredibly freeing after 30 years of viciously criticising my body.

Jab day was yesterday - Week 13 for me. I went up to 10mg - took 2.5ml from my last 7.5 pen which was just about all that was left in there and then 45 clicks from the 10mg.

Suppression today has been normal for the day after a jab - I don’t really fancy eating anything and I’m freezing cold. The high suppression usually lasts two days and then hunger comes back which is a relief as feeling faintly nauseous for 2 days a week isn’t ideal.

So it will be interesting to see what happens on 10mg because if the suppression is too high I may drop back to 7.5. It’s no fun having no appetite at all.

According to the scales this morning I’ve lost just over 2lb since the same time last week so that was good to see as most weeks have been 1.5 recently ( I was thinking I was losing 2lb the last couple of weeks but when I look at the ounces realised I was much nearer 1.5 😖).
Absolutely can’t complain as things are moving in the right direction and now I’ve lost a stone and a half in total. I’m just impatient!

NSVs for me this week has been the definite appearance of a cheekbone! I also bought a beautiful red linen sleeveless top for the summer which buttons up the back and when I tried it on wasn’t immediately horrified by my arms. That for me is a big win!

HoratioBum · 16/05/2025 13:37

@MounjarodayThe weird thing is that MJ doesn’t seem to make hangovers worse for me. Bit of a headache in the morning, couple of ibuprofen, jobs a goodun.

Whilst I’m certainly not drinking anywhere near what I was pre MJ I haven’t lost the desire for wine but I do find I drink a bit slower overall.

TheYouYouAre · 16/05/2025 13:38

I just bought a couple of new bras for my now smaller boobs and they were both too loose round the band, despite sizing down already. An annoying NSV as I have to return them 😂That's the second time recently I've been caught out buying a too big size online, anyone else had the same?

Absolutely- I was wearing 38DD bras. Went in to bra shop and got measured as 34D. Which is a long way from my starting size of 40DD at beginning of the year! I think I have some weird sort of body dysmorphia now, because I can’t really believe what my eyes tell me is right!?

Similar to me. Before MJ I was in 38GG or H. Ordered 36G which was too large on the smallest band setting. So looks like I need to get a 34. Mad that all that change has happened in such a short space of time.

FunnyCrabDance · 16/05/2025 14:53

Felt a bit despondent today, literally down just 1 lb this week despite a very healthy week. So onto the first 7.5 shot we go.
Then i had a look at the shotsy app and realised in another 8 lbs time i'll be exactly half way to my goal weight, and thats still a huge achievement.

Dumplers · 16/05/2025 16:15

Hi all
Jab day today, number 13, 8 weeks on 2.5mg and now my second 5mg pen about to be used.
Weigh day tomorrow, lost 2 stone up to now which I'm over the moon with and today, I've been told I no longer need to take metformin as my HBA1C is now showing I no longer have type 2 diabetes, but will still have mounjaro prescribed for weight loss to continue ...phew.
Have to have more blood tests (never away from blood clinic) in 12 weeks to see how I'm going on re HBA1C.
I can't remember the last time I had cake or biscuits, not missing them at all, they're constantly brought into work by colleagues but I've no interest at all.
One thing I do miss is alcohol, just unable to drink anymore, I get so jealous when friends post pics on social media of their ice cold pints of lager 😂😂.
Hope everyone is good, love reading all your posts. Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Still on 5 but jab not due until Sunday.
but I am so COLD 🥶 TODAY!
beautiful sunshine outside. Allegedly 21 inside. Still freezing.
