Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

Well done. Brilliant achievement. Re your clothes have a look for your favourite clothes on eBay or Vinted in your smaller size. I've bought old favourites in different sizes on eBay before. You can take a photo of it & do Search Similar.

I did that last time I lost a good amount of weight. Some of the clothes that are now hanging off me are ones I bought then to replace larger ones.
I'm going to wait and see where my weight size settles, but I think I may have to rethink my style more generally. It's 15 years since I was last the size I am now.
Part of my ambivalence is that I wasn't unhappy with my size. It's just that the type 2 diabetes and fatty liver said otherwise.

Have woken up with a weird metal taste in my mouth this morning that won't go away even if I drink something... anyone had this?

WoolerOwl · 13/05/2025 09:53

A note to self, to keep me accountable. I have a work conference for the next two days/nights at a hotel that has excellent canteen style food. Protein and salads all the way! Step away from the chips and puddings. Water bottle and chewing gum packed.

I doubt it will be this expensive forever. Retatrutide is coming next year which will likely reduce MJ cost as it’s supposed to be more effective than MJ. There are probably others in development too.

I also think there will be tablet maintenance forms in development too.

For me I’m happy to be on them in some form forever. I tried for 22+yrs, from age 18, to do this myself and have failed time and time again. I am absolutely not going back to my old weight or the way I felt about myself. I’m hoping I can do something like one pen ever 3rd month until something more sustainable comes along.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the future. I guess we are all what they would call “early adopters”?! A tablet form would be great. Even the injection is fine, but the cost is pretty prohibitive long term. Have just changed providers- clearly I didn’t research it very well, as it seems to be almost the most expensive on the market! New provider over £50 cheaper a month, which is a big chunk of change in anyone’s budget.

I get this if i have done a few days on very low carb, Can be a sign that your body is going into ketosis where it is burning fat for fuel rather than carbs. Not sure what else causes it, or if it is a side effect of the injections rather than diet

The other thing that always gives me that metallic taste is seeds, like sunflower or pine nut kernels?

obsessedlex · 13/05/2025 10:17

@sweetpickle2 Couldn't be a chance you are pregnant could there? That was a first sign for both my pregnancies.........

sweetpickle2 · 13/05/2025 10:55

Am confidence that there is absolutely no chance of that @obsessedlex!

Low carb is interesting- generally I am eating much less in the carb department, (but weirdly last night I had a massive jacket potato for dinner!)

skyscrapersinging · 13/05/2025 11:02

Ok, I’m gonna jump on the “before n after” trend now too. Same shorts in both pics, before were so tight that they almost cut me in half. Now too loose. What a relief.

Incredible, @skyscrapersinging! Bloody well done!

Checking in on my holidays - I have had more food and drink than at home. Still vastly less than a ‘normal’ holiday. So I expect to maintain this week at best, but that’s ok.

Just been into a charity shop and bought an emerald green jumper in a size 12. Which fits perfectly. Fuck my old boots! 😂

Yes, from Day One back in February. Chewing gum sorted it out.

OntheTrainX · 13/05/2025 15:28

Blimey @skyscrapersinging that’s excellent

sweetpickle2 · 13/05/2025 16:02

Wow @skyscrapersinging what a difference!

Thanks @OntheTrainX going to try that immediately.

A (quite random) NSV- right before lockdown I bought a jumpsuit, it was only from the New Look sale, but it was the most flattering thing I'd ever put on my body and I had planned to wear it for a work party before everything got cancelled. Lockdown is when I gained all my weight so it didn't fit me within about 6 months of the first lockdown, but I kept hold of the jumpsuit- through all the millions of clothes clearouts I've had since then, because I have this singular memory of trying it on once in my bedroom and it looking like it was made for me. Well I've just tried it on now, not expecting it to fit... and it does! And I'm so glad I held onto it because it really is so incredibly nice on me.

WelshRarebit18 · 13/05/2025 16:59

Has anyone taken their pen abroad with them? I usually jab on a Friday evening and we’re flying on holiday next Wednesday for a week. Don’t really want to miss a dose the following Friday.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 13/05/2025 17:07

If it's been used and you're not going anywhere over 30c then it's fine, you can take it with you. It only has to be kept chilled until it's opened. Then you've got 30 days to use it

Took mine to Belgium and kept it in the original box that had my name printed in the label. Also took the small sharps box with me. All good.

WelshRarebit18 · 13/05/2025 18:17

@Crosspatchy That’s good to know. Did you take it in your carry-on bag?

Catmum100 · 13/05/2025 18:22

I just did my jab and the pen stuck and wouldn't click... it's only the 3rd dose from the pen. Has anyone else had this? Luckily I had syringes id bought in case i wanted to do the extra dose at some point, so used those instead. I'd complain to Voy, but I've just switched to a new pharmacy as they were too expensive. And I can still get the next dose out anyway. Just wondered if it was a common issue!

Mounjaroday · 13/05/2025 18:33

I did have that @Catmum100 with my last pen, but half way through the 4th dose. I think I might have prepped the needle too much though.

Weigh in day.

SW 103.6kg
CW 85.0kg

0.5kg off this week it’s just so slow zzzzzzz! I know I shouldn’t be so impatient, but I am.

NSV though - am currently out for a brisk evening walk! Tried jogging for a moment … and immediately realised that my pelvic floor is definitely not up to that … so just walking the two miles instead.

Am listening to ‘A Celebration of Michael Mosley’ - on BBC Sounds. They’re talking about his philosophy of how a small change or swap can massively improve our well being, and sharing experiences of how people have embraced this in real life.

Will listen to the full ‘Just One Thing with Michael Mosley’ series but already feeling inspired to start changing other things in my life.

i agree it’s hard to sustain buying it each month. Im on week 15 now and I feel like I’ve slowed up - probably to do with a lot going on over the bank holidays.

out of interest has anyone ever used the remains from the pen? Drives me a bit mad to throw it away especially when I hear about people microdosing

I love the michael mosely series, I've taken on lots of the suggestions! It's really inspiring.

About to head out for a walk and podcast myself @Mounjaroday after a day stuck at my desk. Been feeling slightly reluctant because I’m tired and cold, but I know it’ll be great once I get going 🙂

Well done to all on NSVs and SVs!

I’ve still only lost just over a stone, and I have at least three stone more to go (CW 16 stone, down from 17 stone 2). But that first stone in itself feels really good, and I’m determinedly focusing on the positives of doing it slowly.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 13/05/2025 20:29

Weekly update after 12 weeks on Mounjaro. Normally jab and weigh on a Saturday morning but was away over the weekend so had to do it on Monday.

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 12st 8

Loss this week: 1.5 lb
Total loss on Mounjaro: 32 lbs (2st 4)
Total loss overall: 57.5 lbs (4 st 1.5)

I have never consistently lost weight well for more than a few weeks in the past. I would always be thinking about cheat meals and getting to a certain goal before I could reward myself with x food. Would always be craving carbs foods and feel unwell and irritated if I couldn’t have them.

It’s great not to feel like that anymore, this medication is truly wonderful!

Have you tried any of the Mosley’s Fast 800 recipes?
