Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

Loving all the SV and NSVs, well done everyone!

I took some progress pics this morning, in the same outfit (gym leggings and sports bra) that I did for my very first pen proof pic. The difference is insane!

Day to day I don't feel like I look any different, but I honestly think thats because I had a warped idea of what I looked like before- I think I walked around thinking I look basically like I do now, when actually I was much much bigger than that. Definitely take those progress pics if you're struggling to feel different!

MynameisJune · 12/05/2025 11:21

Morning All,

Well done everyone on the SV and NSV. Summer is coming and this year we don’t have to dread getting the summer clothes out!

Jab day today. I’ve stayed on 5mg but weight loss has slowed so will think about going up next pen. Have a couple of weeks left before I need to decide for sure.

SW at heaviest 208lb
SW on MJ - 187lb
CW - 169lb one more 1lb and I’ll be under 12st for the first time since 2011.
GW - around 147lb

1lb off this week, but I’ve caught a virus from my youngest and I think it’s possibly making my body hold a bit of extra water weight for fighting the bug. Still every 1lb counts 😁

My DH knows, my mum and sister do, but none of my friends, in laws or anyone else does. Mainly because I don’t want anyone discussing it in front of my kids. I try very hard not to talk about my weight struggles with them or mention diets. Plus as others have said, I made this choice as a well informed adult. It’s a choice I’ve made for me and no one else.

God, I so agree. The original fat pics were startling. I’d normalised my waist size inside my own head to a shocking degree!

I’m now experiencing quite a lot of cognitive dissonance about my current size - can I actually be a size 14, and if I still have 2-3 stone to go, what on earth size will I be then?

There is mind work to do..

I am now officially no longer overweight according to the BMI table. It's only by a whisker, so I would like to get more firmly into the normal weight category to give myself some wriggle room in future. And even though it's just a number, I would like to get below 10 stone. After this pen, I need to find out how I go about coming off it/ reducing my dose. I assume I will have to do it gradually.

I got my summer clothes out of storage and unfortunately some of them no longer fit - which I was a bit sad about. I love my clothes and I hate clothes shopping.

Well done. Brilliant achievement. Re your clothes have a look for your favourite clothes on eBay or Vinted in your smaller size. I've bought old favourites in different sizes on eBay before. You can take a photo of it & do Search Similar.

Housewife2010 · 12/05/2025 11:59

I haven't told my husband that I'm on MJ. I put on most of my weight through secret eating. I know that once I tell him, I will keep talking about it to him (he won't mind), but it is working very well for me to keep it to myself. I'm enjoying having my secret. I never discuss my weight or dieting with him - he knows its always been a sensitive topic for me.

God I could have written this about some of my relatives. They have never been anywhere close to being obese in their entire lives, but have been obsessed with their weight (and everyone else’s) or been on some diet for as long as I can remember.

It’s kind of sad really, I look at photos of myself in my teens and twenties and I genuinely thought I was fat back then because of the constant talk of diets and weight at home. I wasn’t fat at all! (I wish I was that ‘fat’ now).

Absolutely. What a sad waste of time and energy it all is. Worrying about numbers- clothing label numbers, scale numbers. Ugh. I hope that mentality dies out with this generation. I have an 18 yr old and see her and her friends much more positive about themselves and each other, happy in their bodies and not constantly punishing themselves to be thin, but rather to be strong and fit and live well.

Planning on doing exactly that today. In my head I’m still 15kg overweight, so I really need to see some side by side pics to prove it to myself!

skyscrapersinging · 12/05/2025 13:02

Week 15 weigh in
SW 90.0kg (14st 1, BMI 28.5)
CW 75.5kg (11st 12, BMI 24.1)
GW 70kg ish (11st, BMI 22.3)

Feel like I’m really making progress now, starting to think about winding back the dosage as am still losing weight fairly fast. Am within striking distance of my goal, could probably do it with the pens I have (one open, one brand new). Not sure whether I should think about reducing the dosage sometime soon? Thoughts?

I know we all like a comparison pic. Here’s me the day I ordered my first jab versus today.

@Mounjaroday wow that’s really great, genuinely such a difference, especially from the ribs down. Love the emoji choice too!

Wow! An amazing difference! Wish I’d taken my pics before hand now 😞 I’m 13 weeks in but still loads to lose…I think I’ll still grab pics tonight!

Zibb · 12/05/2025 14:36

I've got quite the collection of awards on nutracheck now! Got to set a new weight goal today. Normally I do 5kg at a time because it feels achievable. I don't know if 10kg feels like too much and I'll end up feeling demotivated? I still panic when I think about how much I've got left to lose. Another 30kg to go. Almost 5 stone. Thats scary.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 12/05/2025 16:55

Hello all!!

Been AWOL for a couple of weeks. Still losing but definitely slowed now. Normally I'd be ready for chucking in the towel but I'm actually a bit meh whatever about the number on the scale. As long as it's downwards I'm okay with it "just" being a 1lb.

I'm much more excited by the fact I can drive my car without the steering wheel touching my legs!

It's so lovely to see everyone doing so well. Although I've not posted I have been keeping up 😄

Mounjaroday · 12/05/2025 19:26

@Zibb you’re smashing it! Great to hear your update too, @Marypoppinsisnosaint!

@skyscrapersinging how exciting - you are so close!!! Not sure how it works… do you get to goal weight and then start to reduce, or start to reduce in the run up to reaching goal weight?

Mounjaroday · 12/05/2025 19:32

Also, I got a bit overconfident today and bought a pair of size 12 jeans. No, they do not fit! But I can at least get them over my arse which is a win. I just can’t do them up. Oh well. Hopefully by the summer I’ll have lost a couple more inches and they’ll fit like a glove!

Have just ordered my next dose and have gone up to 7.5mg for the first time.

I focus on what I’ve lost rather than how far I have to go. 13.1% of my body weight lost since 12th February. No mean feat!

A colleague is having surgery for an aortic aneurysm in early June and was prescribed MJ by the cardiologist to try to get from BMI 35 to closer to BMI 30. First three weeks have gone well, he said. I still haven’t told anyone I’m on it though.

I have literally no idea! Spoke to provider (Numan) and they seem to be of the opinion that I just stay on a lower dose forever. I have zero intention of doing that tho- too expensive and I don’t want suppression and indigestion for the rest of my life!

I doubt it will be this expensive forever. Retatrutide is coming next year which will likely reduce MJ cost as it’s supposed to be more effective than MJ. There are probably others in development too.

I also think there will be tablet maintenance forms in development too.

For me I’m happy to be on them in some form forever. I tried for 22+yrs, from age 18, to do this myself and have failed time and time again. I am absolutely not going back to my old weight or the way I felt about myself. I’m hoping I can do something like one pen ever 3rd month until something more sustainable comes along.

I’ve done this! Got on Vinted and bought a few pairs of jeans now I feel more confident wearing them.
feel like I need some summer items too

strongermummy · 13/05/2025 00:03

Evening all! And congratulations to those of you still on track and may the force be with you to those who are struggling to keep it together.

I’ve hit several milestones together today and I’m excited by this!!

hit 10kgs loss and now under 70kgs. Hoorah! (I’m short!!). 13% weight loss since 4 Jan.
and a “normal” BMI now feels within reach.

wondering whether to go up to 7.5 or stay on 5….. what made you go up or down the levels? I think I shall probably stick to 5, but will ask my provider for guidance.

Monday 12 May 2025 May jab 11 W12D1 on 5 MJ
SW. 79.7kg (BMI 30 obese)
CW 69.6kg (BMI 27 overweight)
Total loss 10.1kgs (13%)

Weekly average loss 0.6kgs (or just over a 1lbs a week)

GW 60kgs (Goals: BMI 23 healthy / Goal total loss 19kgs = 24%!)

sweetpickle2 · 13/05/2025 07:16

Congrats @strongermummy!

I went up to 7.5 from 5 because suppression had mostly disappeared- if you’re still getting good suppression I’d stick. After a good first week on 7.5 it’s been quite bad with nausea side effects since so I will be sticking with the same next pen.
