The kitchen towel analogy is a really helpful one @RobinEllacotStrike thank you.

Like you @CanIGoHomeNowPlease I don’t necessarily feel like I look that different - certainly nobody seems to have noticed, or at least said anything to me. My jeans are definitely looser and clothes are hanging that little bit better though, so I’m taking it all as a work in progress win.

One day before my 12th jab have reached my two stone milestone, which I’m thrilled about:

SW: 119.3kg/18st 11lbs
CW: 106.6kg/16st 11lbs
Next interim goal: to see double rather than triple kg digits.

Am sticking with 5mg for at least another month as I’m really happy with my rate of loss.

WeAllHaveWings · 24/05/2025 11:25

End of week - 47 (5 x 2.5mg, 43 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 14st 01lbs BMI 29.4
Losses (2024) - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2,3,3,1,4,0
Losses (2025) - 0,3,2,1,3,1,1,0,2,3,3,-1,3,2,2,1,2,2,1,1,0
Total loss - 7st 04lbs (102lbs), 34.1%
Next Target 🎯- 13st

Holding steady this week with 0 loss/gain. I blame it on very long working hours this week (and last/this weekend 🥺) with new IT systems going live in a different time zone needing hyper care. I did manage to get out most lunchtimes for a brisk 30 minutes walk in the sun, but otherwise stuck behind a desk most of the week.

Well done everyone on this weeks progress! 💗

Quick question - has anyone bought a travel case to take a pen away with them please and, if so, which one? I'm thinking ideally a cheapy one from Amazon or similar as going soon.
I hadn't planned to take my pen with me and have blown my own mind figuring out how to move injection days, what doses, etc but, having thought I'd figured it all out and would leave pen at home, I'm now stressing myself with thoughts of delayed trip home, etc (in all fairness we have been stranded more than once by volcano, hurricane, cancelled flights, etc). Although I hope it'll never happen again I now plan for it!

eleanorwish · 24/05/2025 15:09

Did my 15th jab last night, I managed to put a pound on overnight, but that’s because I overindulged on bread yesterday. We have a farm shop that does beautiful focaccia, and I couldn’t resist (probably because it was jab day, and the effects were at their lowest). At least I didn’t pig out on sweet treats which is what I would have done pre-MJ.
SW 15st 3
CW 13st 9
I’ve almost finished my 1st 7.5mg pen, I didn’t notice much change from 5mg, so am going up to 10 next time

mince3point14159265 · 24/05/2025 15:13

@QueenOfHiraeth I bought one from Frio. It worked really well on the couple of trips I've gone on since. Just put the whole thing in a clear plastic bag on the one time I needed to at airport security and was fine.
From what I can recall, was delivered really quickly, but the BH might mess things around right now.

NewbieMJ · 24/05/2025 17:18

@QueenOfHiraeth You've just reminded me to update on my experience at Edinburgh Airport when I went on hols.

We left everything in our hand luggage and the bags went through the scanner with no issues. Same at the Spanish end - just took out laptops and devices, leaving everything else in the carry-on bag.

I know you're looking for a case for your pen, but it reminded me to update the group if travelling with MJ.

So, YuBi bars just taste like any other protein bar really, not great, not awful. I’ve only tried the S’mores one so far. It did not taste like s’mores 😂😂

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/05/2025 18:10

Thanks folks. I'm still debating whether to take it or not. In theory we are only away for a week, 8 days allowing for travel so I may not but I think I'd sooner be prepared

I like the MyProtein Layered chocolate caramel ones. They are the only ones I've had that don't taste like a protein bar, I can almost convince myself it's just a chocolate bar Grin

mince3point14159265 · 24/05/2025 18:43

@NewbieMJ it depends on whether they've updated the scanners. At Heathrow earlier this year it was not necessary to take out liquids when going through the first class check in (benefit of travelling with gold card holding DH, not in first I hasten to add!), but a couple of months later (flying on my own) had to go through the regular scanners and had to take out liquids. That was at T5, think DH said he didn't have to take out liquids when he went through T3 recently on a trip.

alwaysscared · 24/05/2025 18:58

@QueenOfHiraeth could you post a link to the one you like please?

We didn’t have to take out liquids or electronics at T3 a month ago. Caused total confusion because there weren’t actually any signs to inform of this!

@CanIGoHomeNowPlease I've lost about 53 pounds and genuinely can't see a difference in the mirror.

Objectively I know I'm smaller - I've had to get rid of a couple of pairs of trousers as they were literally falling down, and a couple of my favourite dresses look a bit ridiculous as they're overly roomy (and keep slipping off my shoulders and showing my brastraps).

All that said I cannot tell i look any different - bar seeing my collarbones! I'm relying on the clothes difference and hoping at some point my brain may catch up! It's a tricky one for sure and a struggle I may well have even after I've lost all the weight - I've always struggled seeing the 'real' view in the mirror, even when I was slim I couldn't see it.

Darlinghag · 25/05/2025 08:52

Hello everyone, happy Sunday.

I had a long day of travel so didn’t update yesterday and today I’m heading off on a long haul flight.

This week was another shitty, stressful one and I gained a lb. Nothing surprising, my food wasn’t great, there was no routine and I snacked a lot. Old habits die hard! Additionally, the stress kept my period delayed for nearly two weeks! Its arrived finally though and I feel better for it.

I’m now away for two weeks so I expect to gain a little. I try to avoid the worst things, mainly because of my digestive issues in general and while MJ helps a lot - it doesn’t always work well when I’m stressed or anxious!

I’m really looking forward to coming back home and getting into routine again. I can definitely feel MJ working better when I am eating well, drinking enough and being consistent.

As for travelling, I am currently at Heathrow, and chose to chuck my MJ in my hold bag. Its in a little insulated pouch and there’s only one dose left (jabbed last night!) so it should be ok. Security were not asking anyone to take anything out of bags with me and those around me! Not electricals or any liquids.

alwaysscared · 25/05/2025 13:37

Anyone else have this? I feel ok the day after my jab, but 2 days after I feel really rough. This is day 2 after my 3rd 7.5mg injection and I feel sick as a dog today. It always seems to be a couple of days after.
I downed some pepto and taken to my bed, just hope a nap might help!

Time4changeagain · 25/05/2025 14:00

@alwaysscared Yes I’m the same, two days after my jab I always feel shocking. Usually get a migraine too. Was hoping it would get better but Its still the same nearly a year on, I’m kind of used to it now though.

alwaysscared · 25/05/2025 14:02

@Time4changeagain I’m obviously not glad you feel like crap, but it’s good to know I’m not alone!!

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/05/2025 14:03

Have some sort of hormonal weirdness this week, been snappy, irritated and spotty. Tea tree can sort out the spots, but if my DH doesn’t stop prattling on about nonsense he might be murdered so I’m taking lots of breaks in my little garden oasis with a blanket to ward off the chill.

mince3point14159265 · 25/05/2025 14:40

But just think of all the calories burnt burying him under the patio @InfoSecInTheCity 🙇‍♀️ Excellent workout for the upper body too! 😜🤣

Time4changeagain · 25/05/2025 16:13

@alwaysscared Yes I know what you mean, it does make you feel better knowing your not alone.

taylorswift1989 · 25/05/2025 16:54

Feel like my eating has gone completely off track these last few days and not sure how to reset. Wondering if I need to go up another dose or maybe if I can cut out the chocolate and snacks, the MJ will work better for me. I'm on 5mg and it's not seeming to have much effect, but I have eaten a small (40g) bar of chocolate every day for the past five days and today I've also had crisps and cake... it was served to me for lunch and I didn't go mad but I also didn't restrain myself. I feel like I'm maybe just losing focus on my eating. I have a lot going on in my life right now and I don't want to replace food noise with diet noise. But I feel like I've gone off track.

Anyone been there on MJ? What did you do?

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/05/2025 17:03

@taylorswift1989 back in February I went away for a week and part of the package was the buffet breakfast and dinner at the hotel, I ate too much, I had the pastries and the puddings for every meal, unsurprisingly I gained weight, I let myself not think about my food intake at all and just ate what I fancied not in the same quantities as pre-MJ but definitely too many calories, too many carbs and not enough water.

When I got home I reset, I went back to tracking everything I ate, drinking 2 lts water a day, focusing on protein, fat and fibre and the weight came off really quickly. Make tomorrow your restart day, don’t have the chocolate available, get some water in the fridge and prepare to spend the day running for a pee.

Twodogsisbetterthanone · 25/05/2025 17:19

I’ve not posted on here for a few weeks so have missed so much! Well done to you all for your losses. ❤️

Ive just done my 8th dose of wegovy on Thursday, I feel like im in a routine with it now. Have lost 22lbs. Only another 61lbs to go to get me to 14 stone, sounds like a lot to others but I’m over 6ft and skinny at that weight. I just want to horse ride again!

I’m definitely not drinking enough(I’m bad for this anyway), and am really really struggling to eat on it. I need to up my protein for sure. I normally have a better eating day the day before the jab is due, and then always lose more weight the next day, which is bizarre. Had a very small Chinese takeaway last night, have lost 3 lbs since yesterday 🙄
