Thank you @InfoSecInTheCity ! That is a simply inspiring chart, what a journey! Onwards and downwards we all go....

I’m so sorry, I posted on Saturday morning and then disappeared!

Thanks to everyone for your kind and understanding words, it really helps to have this thread doesn’t it?

I took your advice on board and have reset my way of eating and thinking. Resetting was made easier as I was away on a Scout camp and barely had time to eat for two days! I’m also making sure I drink more though sometimes I feel like I must slosh when I walk 😄.

I start 5mg on Friday and I am looking forward to taking that step (does that sound weird?). I can do this and I will!!! Another bit of good news is that my town has a new independent pharmacy and they’re advertising a weight loss clinic that will include clinical treatments so I may be able to access Mounjaro locally. I’ll pop in and see them soon.

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 05/05/2025 22:00

Some amazing losses here - congrats everyone who’s reached Onderland.

I’m eight weeks in now and have lost just under 10kg which I’m very happy with. A few people have started to notice as my face actually has some definition emerging again.

I still have a long way to go - another 40kg - but it’s feeling possible. I’m sticking to 5mg for now as it’s still doing the job. Trying very hard to up my water intake too. Need to get exercising as well. Am sure I have some hand weights in the garage somewhere!

RobinEllacotStrike · 06/05/2025 10:38

Hello wonderful losers - I'm back and recovered from my 3 weeks away. Well I say that - but I am still needing quiet time/more time alone to "recover" from spending over 3 weeks with people 24/7.

I put on a couple of kilos while in NZ but to be fair that could well have been travellers constipation (yes even in the home of 🥝🥝) Anyhoo I've lost them again now and this morning weighed a new low in my MFP history (since Nov 2011 at least) - so back on track.

I do feel like I have been plateauing all of 2025 - but actually I haven't, I've been slowly moving downwards.. Losses have slowed down and I've been in mid 90kg's for what feels like months. But it make sense as I'm sure this is a "set point" for me - I'm really happy at this weight, and I've spent much time in the mid 90kg's during my life.

Having said all that things seem to be moving a bit now and I'm keen to get below 90kg & below 30BMI in the next few weeks.

SW 124kg
CW 93.5 kg
Loss 30.5kg/67lb/4 stone 11lb
SBMI 42
CBMI 31

Hi all, great to hear about everyone's progress - some great losses out there. I've just got back from a camping weekend. Far too much alcohol, and didn't eat as healthily as I could have. Also didn't drink enough water, as the toilet block was the other end of the campsite, and not a nice prospect in the middle of the freezing cold night!
Really pleased to get on the scales this morning and see that I have still lost 0.3kg since last Tues. Not an amazing loss, but it's better than putting it on (which I had envisaged).

alltablenochairs · 06/05/2025 14:33

On the topic of 🥝 I have a new toy- a kiwi slicer. It only cost me £1.20 on temu.
Chop your kiwi in half using the kiwi chopper tool, then use the slicer to slicer your kiwi into chunks. It works surprisingly well considering it didn't cost much. It would be better with a gold kiwi but that means going to the shops and I cba for that.

@RobinEllacotStrike this is a very useful way of looking at things. I was having a 'I'm still a fat heifer' moment this morning and even sent my best friend (who knows about the MJ) a message complaining about my 'super wibbly bingo wings'. However since Jan I have lost 12.4kg so something must be going well.

Hello all. I haven’t been around much but I’ve hit a big milestone and am feeling reflective. For the newbies, I was the OP for the first six threads of this lovely community.

Over the weekend, I hit the initial target that I set myself when I first started MJ in April 2024. It seemed an impossibly low weight at the time. I’m now back at the weight I was before I conceived DC1. I have lost a total of 8st 6lb from my heaviest, representing 37% of my body weight.

My current weight isn’t actually yet in the healthy range for BMI (I’m very tall). I’ve set myself a new target to lose a further stone, which would take me back to the weight I was on my wedding day. The long-timers will know that this has particular significance for me as my marriage ended last summer, and I like the symbolism of rediscovering the person that I was before I entered that failed marriage. I’m happy for this final loss to happen very slowly, however. I like the way I look and most importantly I like the way I FEEL. I am going to start working my way back down the pens (I’m currently on 10mg) and gradually stretch the gaps between my doses to begin titrating downwards and potentially off MJ, although I’m watching with interest the growing body of evidence about microdosing for maintenance as I’d happily find the money to stay on indefinitely if necessary.

This drug has changed my life. Thirteen months ago I was in a pretty dark place, using food and wine to self-medicate and cope with the challenges of being a parent-carer to a high-needs child with a largely useless husband. Things are still difficult at times and it’s been an awful year in many respects but I’ve learned to feel my feelings rather than pushing them down. I am furious to learn that all those smug people who said that exercise helps mental health and mood were perfectly correct and I’m taking real joy in finding new ways to enjoy movement. I can run to keep up with my children on their bikes and clamber over playground equipment with them.

This community has been incredibly important for me along the way and although I don’t post as often as I used to I am still here, reading and cheering you all on. Thank you all for your support. I’m not going anywhere just yet!

Always good to see you back visiting @VelociraptorsVelociRapping especially with such a touching update. 💗

Congratulations on hitting that symbolic target! 🎉

Keep coming back to tell us how the titrating down goes too it sounds like you have a good well thought out strategy to approach it! I'm sure we will all be at the same stage one day and your sage advice will be invaluable!

(it's really strange not seeing your name in green! 🤣)

dimples76 · 06/05/2025 19:55

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping what an amazing achievement especially with all the challenges you have been facing. I need to lose a similar amount of weight to what you lost - 1/4 of the way there now.

A bad day with my digestive system today - opposite problem to most people's side effects (diarrhoea). My first 7.5mg pen was delivered today but I am not due to take it until the weekend. I am thinking maybe not to have the full dose.

Really need to go bra shopping. When I popped to the toilet at work I was shocked how low cut my top looked (not a great look for a uni lecturer!) It's never been an issue before. I do seem to be losing weight from different places to my norm. I remember someone posting a while ago about their new found love for their collar bone and I am super excited to see mine emerging!

MooBaggage · 06/05/2025 19:58

Bloody hell @VelociraptorsVelociRapping I seem to have got something in my eyes...! 😭😍

Such a lovely update and so bloody marvellous - congratulations! And definitely don't go anywhere 😊

You are truely inspirational @VelociraptorsVelociRapping
just the sort of ‘pick me up, shake me up & knuckle down as this weight loss may be achievable if you keep going’ message I need.
i mean, 8 stone 🤩
That is where i want to get to. I am 4 months in & such a long way to go still.
congratulations!!!! So glad you now get to enjoy life with DC but sorry you have had to go through what you have. Xxx

Reginaphalangeeeee · 07/05/2025 08:27

Can I ask the long timers what is your lowest/least weight loss month? I am sure there are some who have gone a whole month without loss, is this normally after a much longer time on it?

Just finished 4th pen and it’s been a total of 1.8KG this month 😔
Frustrated I haven’t got 7.5mg for this month so have to wait it out on 5mg and hope the 7.5mg does the trick.
I know although it’s less than 1lbs a week it’s still a loss, still going in the right direction and I am grateful for the 1.8KG loss. But, as I had such great weight loss initially I am struggling with this rate of slower progress, drop in confidence about results and drop in hopefulness.

Curious if there is a common pattern of these slower losses. To people hit plateaux’s at similar time points which are linked to usual dosing changes or something physiological that happens?

WeAllHaveWings · 07/05/2025 08:35

I know some of you on this thread use Oushk as a supplier but are not on their facebook group. They put out a post on facebook this morning to say they have changed their website and you can now change your orders selected delivery date and address. I would guess they freeze the options at least a couple of days before dispatch (they didn't say how long), but handy for anyone needing to change their delivery date.

mamabeeboo · 07/05/2025 09:36

Hope everyone is going well.

I've posted once or twice regarding feeling nervous that MJ isn't working for me, after comparing myself to people on lower doses who seem to lose stones.

I've finally titrated up to 10mg and it's working flawlessly. I don't have suppression, I have satiety and I make a controlled, objective choice to eat rather than being over taken by hunger.

The weight is finally flying off and I'm so pleased, finally that I have got there. I've lost 16kg since January and 6 of those have been in the last few weeks since 10mg.

How did you get on at 7.5 mamabeeboo?

I should be going up to 10, but I've been struggling with side effects on 7.5. Not sure if it's because I'm eating poorly and mj can only do so much (always hungry, always craving) or if I just need to move up...

I guess my question to you is what are you expecting from this drug?

7.5mg was good for me, and I felt the effects, same as the previous doses, but as always it started reducing effectiveness around week 4.

Eating poorly how?

Diet/nutrition is a huge factor for side effects and weight loss, the main mechanism for Mounjaro is insulin control, it causes you to produce more and your body to be more sensitive to what is produced. It is a diabetes medication first and foremost.

if you are loading your body with sugar then you are actively fighting the medication. You want protein, fibre, fat and complex carbohydrates. As well as supporting glucose levels, the other mechanism is to slow your digestion which is why you feel full, protein and fibre take longer to break down so they will also help you to feel full.

SilenceInside · 07/05/2025 10:31

@Reginaphalangeeeee I haven't had a proper plateau as yet, as in several weeks of no loss at all. I have had periods of definite slow down where I was losing less than a pound, or nothing, sometimes a small gain, and then back to reasonable losses again.

It's been a long time since I've had anything more than 1 to 1.5kg loss per week. The big losses were all in the first 5 months or so. I also had weeks of sts or a small gain during that time too though.

I have got used to the variability and am (sometimes reluctantly!) happy with sts or a small loss, as both are better than a gain. If I keep losing, even less than 0.5kg each week, then it's moving in the right direction and time will sort out the bigger losses. But it is very very hard to reconcile with that when you have a large amount to lose, I really do understand that.

Yes, I appreciate this which is why I said I know MJ can only do so much if I am not doing my part, and I know that eating sugar makes you want more sugar.

I'm just struggling so much with cravings. No matter how much protein and veg I eat first, I can always eat sweet or salty things on top.

I just want something to stop me constantly wanting sweet things, or make me so full that I can't eat them even if I wanted to.

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping gosh that post was very moving and made me a bit teary.

You have achieved so much - not just the WL but everything else too. I love this self reawakening you are experiencing & your ability to write about it too.

Bravo on your amazing achivement and thanks, as always, for you calm steady wise posts, honesty, advice & encouragement.

And yes those annoying exercise fuckers are right but on the bright side we get to be the annoying "exercise is great and important" people now, so there's that.

Just checking in with a 2lb loss to take me to 2 stone overall since January 🥳

Slow and steady! Need to do the same again twice and hopefully have another stone off before I go on holiday at the end of July

I'm not the quickest loser and that's okay, on MJ I have no side effects and am able to eat, it's just some much easier to eat less and eat healthier

You all continue to inspire me to keep on keeping on - so thank you ❤️

I'm also a craver and a binger. It's best to reflect and understand what you're eating or why you are craving something. Are you bored? Habit? Do you eat refined carbs that make you want it? Once you figure out actually why you're craving, you should be able to fix it. There's always a reason, even if not apparent.

Some things that have helped me - simply not buying junk food, so it's not at home when I crave it. Keeping busy. Brushing teeth. Chewing gum. Drink water/tea /sparkling water.

SeasonalKitsch · 07/05/2025 15:37

I am only 10 days in so it’s absolutely brilliant to hear from people who are much further along. I am just starting to dare to imagine what I might feel like a year from now!

My tactic on weighing is to get on the scales every few days, but barely glance at the number. My phone does its whizzy thing and makes a pretty graph, and I try to only care about the general trajectory. Anyway, I just realised I am at the lowest I have been since buying my scales in 2021! Many ups and downs, but now a determination to keep going down. I’ve also noted that I have lost 20lbs since January. But where has it gone, my clothes feel the same?! Joys of having lots to lose I guess, hopefully soon I’ll suddenly be able to open the box of clothes in a size down.

WeAllHaveWings · 07/05/2025 15:51

@NoisyMintCrab Christmas was the eye opener for me.

I started Mounjaro in June, like a lot of people I had a few weeks of high suppression before I settled on a dose where I had no food noise or cravings, but could eat if I wanted to. I got into a routine of healthier, protein focused eating, with occasional treats, mainly when out on a week or so.

I continued Mounjaro through Christmas but ate carbs/sweet treats/crisps etc that were on offer daily (it was Christmas after all!) and even with Mounjaro the more I had too many carbs/treats each day the more I wanted and the food noise was gradually amplifying again. It took most of January cutting down the carbs/treats to minimal levels to get back on track and to stop feeling those cravings again so I could enjoy them again occasionally.

I am positive if I start, for example, eating a couple of biscuits every day or regularly, even if they are within my calorie deficit there is something wrong with my body/mind now and it will spiral. If that is a sacrifice I need to make with the help of Mounjaro, and focus on healthier food instead to keep the 7st I have lost off, then it is one I am willing to do to, and this is brutal, save my life.

You might find if you manage to keep off the sweet / salty treats for a while the cravings will gradually reduce too. Perhaps frame it in your mind as it is just for the next 3ish weeks until the end of the month to see if it makes a difference.
