Thanks for the reply - gosh, this chat moves so fast!
I aim for a max of 1200 per day. It’s a bit lower than MFP suggested, but I’d rather have a slightly speedier loss. So far it’s quite slow though, so I’m not really sure! I’m still on my first pen, so it is early days and I still feel positive. Having less food noise in my head definitely helps x

My provider, Juniper, sent me scales, but unfortunately they are in stones and I don't really know what it means, so I have to keep converting it into kilos. (And I keep getting it a bit wrong!) But it seems like roughly I've lost a stone and I have 3 more stones to go? I don't know. I can't think in stones.

The app says I'm 81kg, with 1kg to my next milestone and 19kg to my final goal, which they set for me. I'd be happy with 66kg myself. So if it carries on working, that's like 4-6 more pens or about a grand. 😅So far that feels like a good investment in my health, but let's see when I've had to pay my builder (roof, urgh).

Hi @Lundier you've prompted my first real post, I can actually be helpful! My Juniper scales were the same, if you open up the battery compartment on the underside of the scales there is a little button you can press to change the unit. I only work in Kg too so I was so glad when I got it changed :) Good luck with your journey, looks like we're on a similar path :)

Lundier · 19/04/2025 11:37

@QuaintKoala omg THANK YOU! (And good luck to you too!)

This chat really does move fast haha I think as long as you're satisfied enough with 1200 that's fine but just be mindful that as you lose weight you will likely need to reduce your calorie intake to continue loosing weight so don't drop it too low or you'll have nowhere to go. That's my theory anyway lol

Second weigh in this morning and lost 4lbs this week- really happy with that as have been away for a few days and all meals have been in restaurants. I have chosen very carefully what I’ve ordered and haven’t felt the need to order chips or wine!

I ordered my first needle from Boots and planning on swapping to somewhere cheaper. No one knows I am taking this and I want to keep it that way. Can anyone recommend one that is posted, comes in discreet packaging and will fit through the letterbox? I can’t work from home in my job to be here when it comes. Thank you!

you can get your local pharmacist to prescribe it then you can pick it up from the pharmacy, my dad is doing it this way and it’s about the same price I’m paying with SheMed but I guess it will depend on the pharmacy.

66babe · 19/04/2025 13:39

Week 3 done , another 2 lbs off
4th injection done and still no side effects , decided to stick to 2.5mg as feeling ok on it and think it is working , definitely feeling more full after eating and satisfied without cake etc so no reason to increase
8lbs down and approx 10 to go

Lostfirsttimebuyer · 19/04/2025 13:57

Just thinking way ahead to the future and what my goal weight should be. Because of my ethnicity, I am considered overweight at BMI 23 instead of BMI 25. Because I'm 5 ft 2, this means that 9 stone 0lbs will still be considered overweight for me - it's only 8 stone 13 that I would be considered JUST into the healthy weight range.
Anyone else short in height out there a bit dismayed at just how much weight you need to lose just to be considered a healthy weight? I can't remember the last time I was ever 8 stone something!
I am going to have to continue to overhaul my life in order to maintain that weight when I get there - no more daily bacon sarnies for me!!

Not short, just morbidly obese!
I have 135.6lb to lose before I'm considered a Healthy weight 😭😭

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 19/04/2025 14:07

Just weighed and allegedly I’ve lost 9lb….. I can only assume either my scales are wrong or I’ve shed loads of water weight.

Will be interested to see what the pharmacy scales say when I get to check there. I’ll see if there are any at the gym tomorrow too.

only did my 1st jab on Monday hence the scepticism!

I’m 5 2.5 (the half still counts🙈) last time I weighed in the 9’s, I was 16! I looked ill. Really not sure how it’s achievable, sustainable, realistic or healthy… for me anyway. This is where BMI really doesn’t make sense. I look and feel a very normal and healthy weight at 11 stone. Maybe try and set yourself a different goal weight for now? My first one is to get under 100kg, then eventually I want to be back to 12-13 stone which is what I was when I met my husband and felt so good, size 10-12. Got a long way to go but no way am I aiming for less than 9 stone!

I am paying absolutely no attention to that baloney. At 12 stone - my target weight - I look super slim and feel great. For some dieters, that would be their starting weight!
Please don’t let it demotivate you. For me, the biggest motivation is going down a stone bracket!

Crikeyalmighty · 19/04/2025 14:45

@lovechocolate I think that’s the case - if you have lost a fair bit before starting chances are any excess water weight has long gone- I’m very similar to you size wise and had lost a fair bit a while ago and my lower legs and ankles had absolutely shrank - I only lost 2.5lb on first week and 2lb on second week

I agree I think BMI is ridiculous I’m pretty sure at what is just about a healthy BMI I’d look and feel ridiculously ill BMI takes nothing like muscle into account so I’m taking no notice of that and just going by how I feel in myself. My current target is 80kg and I’m pretty sure il be in a pretty good place with that only 15kg to go 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Don’t be daft! I’ve just had a protein bagel and it’s not much less calorie-wise.
One hot cross bun is very different to demolishing a whole box of chocs!

Crikeyalmighty · 19/04/2025 17:16

@JMSA. Ha you are - correct- I think it’s because it’s being followed this evening with a Thai meal out with father in law - I’ve had so little of anything sweet or snacky it feels a bit odd - mind you if I don’t gain over Easter and gave a couple of drinks too I think for me that’s a result

It’s crazy isn’t it, I’m considered as obese as I’m 11 and half stone and 5ft tall if I lost 2 and half stone I would look haggard and ill , my bust is the same since I was 15 a double 36 EE that surely must be taken in to account.
I know I look good at 10 and half which is my aim .

Dobbysdad · 19/04/2025 18:01

Hi all, i struggled this morning attaching my needle. I didn't the first time I injected at all, do you screw it on or just push it on? I did eventually get it on ok but it felt like I was doing it wrong!

RhaenysRocks · 19/04/2025 18:07

Push then screw. I do think it's important to make sure it's straight

disclaimer I AM NOT SUGGESTING ANYONE DO THIS I did this with a semi trained mind, trained in medicine and medicine management but not trained in Mounjaro.

for my 4th dose I took 3.75mg instead of 2.5mg I did this for a little extra boost and also to see how I go before going to 5mg because when im due to go to 5mg (if I use the bonus dose) it’s a little to close to my holiday for my liking so I’d rather test the slightly higher dose and the change before, I injected last night at about 10pm and slept fine so far only have a funny feeling/taste in my mouth which I’ve had before anyway and so far not felt hungry but I haven’t done in the mornings since starting so we will see how this dose goes

but like I say I do not suggest anyone does this without long consideration as it obviously isn’t suggested by the prescribing doctors

Really interested in how you find this @TC4 . I am also medically/ pharmaceutically trained so don't be concerned about influencing me. I am also due to go away 9th may so cautious about navigating a dose increase around then. Also did my 3rd jab of 2.5mg yesterday morning and feeling that I am relying on willpower a lot more than I have before.

GRCP · 19/04/2025 18:26

Golden dose question if I may! My pen came with 6 needles. Does this mean I can take a 5th dose in the same way as the other 4 doses? Or is there a trick I need to know to get the 3.75mg dose out of the pen? Thank you

I just had a BBQ with friends, and although I didn't go as over board with the food as I would have done pre MJ, I've deffo over eaten in a "normal person's diet" sort of way.

Fell really ashamed of my self for falling off the wagon at it were r especially so early in.

On the plus side, my son has loads of Easter eggs, and I'm not tempted by them, so they're is a bit of a positive x x x

TheFunkyDuckling · 19/04/2025 18:46

Oh, and I've probably drunk a bottle of prosecco myself 😭

JMSA · 19/04/2025 18:58

@Crikeyalmighty
Och, just enjoy it. But please be mindful of not eating too much (says me, the greediest person alive 🤣) or deviating too much from your usual everyday food choices. I say that because it can lead to the most horrific runs! x
