@myladyjane one of the reasons I don't swim is because of the other people in the pool...

I started my day with some yoga (such a lovely way to start the day!)

I've bought a 7.5mg pen for the last push to get to where I want to be. I'm keen to get to goal and start titrating down. So I'm going up, if that makes sense?! 🤣 I have 3 weeks left of my 5mg which Im using a weekly dose of 5.6, although I might step up to 6 this week. I don't intend to go all the way up to 7.5mg. But it gives me freedom to choose. £153 with the Easter discount and delivery from Oushk. Also booked my maintenance meeting - not till July 😱 so I think it might be a bit late.

Great to see everyone’s updates and just wanted to wish everyone a lovely bank holiday weekend, whether you celebrate Easter or not 🐥.

One of my best friends has just started her MJ journey and lost 10lbs in her first week! I’m over the moon for her but also slightly gutted that she’s lost almost half of what I have in 3 months! I’ve lost 22.5lbs in 14 weeks (currently on 7.5mg) and I know that’s a sensible loss and comparison is the thief of joy etc. Still can’t help feeling slightly miffed after the money I’m spending each month that it’s not been more as I have a lonnnnggg way to go! It’s interesting how it affects people so differently.

HeavyHeidi · 19/04/2025 13:24

yes I wonder if they ever figure it out why some people respond super well and others not so much.

Grabbed a t-shirt from the drawer I used to wear a lot and it was huge, like a tent. Tried some others - same. So I'm not sure how I feel about people around me not pointing out that I was getting bigger and bigger. And no, I don't really know how I would have reacted if they did. Weight gain over a longer period really is so sneaky.
It was in one Marian Keyes books where she described how you buy size 16 just as a temporary measure until you can get back into size 14, which was a temporary measure until you can fit into 12 again. I feel it. That yeah sure just one pair of jeans a size up..and well those sweaters are a bit tight but still wearable and..

supafish · 19/04/2025 13:59

Hi everyone .
week 14 and 5th jab of 7.5
SW 15.12
CW 14.3
GW No idea yet
loss of 23 pounds so far , I’m 5ft 5ins

I’m happy , a bit of a plodder but it’s usually a half a stone per 5 weeks and slow and steady is ok by me . I have good suppression, no side effects apart from feeling cold sometimes . I’m loving hearing about your journeys ladies , just keep swimming. 🏊 x

MJalltheway · 19/04/2025 14:11

@BlueLimes in also with Voy and was going to cancel this month but when I went through the cancellation process they offered a discount on the next 2 pens so I'm staying there for now. Think it's £169 for my next 7.5mg.

Been through my whole wardrobe this morning trying everything on and now have a big old pile of clothes to donate. I'm keeping a couple of things for now which I will get rid of in time, but didn't want to leave myself with too few things to wear.
absolutely knackered today, did two exercise classes yesterday and have been doing DIY this morning as well so planning a nice restful afternoon!

myladyjane · 19/04/2025 14:27

@supafish those are v similar stats to me. I think half a stone a month ish is good solid progress. I also do t have a goal - my first one is something with a 13 in the front and I’m a pound away! My next one is another 2 stone then my bmi is under 30. After that in my head just another stone so my bmi sits at about 27 - that feels sustainable to me and a weight I comfortably kept to for a number of years. But obviously still a bit heavier than optimal.

@MJalltheway I am also aiming for a relaxed pm. I have managed to re pull my back cleaning the shower which has undone all the good work my swimming did this morning. So a pot of mint tea, my book and a rest then a bath. All my chores are done so no reason not to chill a bit.

MJalltheway · 19/04/2025 14:39

That sounds a fantastic plan @myladyjane - enjoy!

sociallydistained · 19/04/2025 15:10

I'm feeling suppression is high (for me whose not experienced it really) but only 36hrs after injecting and for about 3 days 😂
Anyway, I was unsure how weigh in would go as had a fair bit of Easter chocolate during the week but I lost 2lb!

SW: 15 stone 10
CW 13 stone 5

Really pleased 🙏

Polkadotdash · 18/04/2025 21:00

I’m wondering if there is something wrong with me. I went out last and had 6 glasses of wine and a whole pizza. No suppression. Just like it was before. No side effects today. Just tired. I sometimes wonder if MJ doesn’t really ‘work’ for me. I was expecting to just eat a bit of pizza and then be too full. But nope. Ate the lot and it was huge. 😞

I feel this way that I can still eat a whole Easter egg and a whole pizza 🙈 I'm at least finding on 7.5 I do get some suppression for a few days and I leave some then but the rest of the time I want it all.

Thelittlestranger · 19/04/2025 15:26

@sociallydistained but do you actually have it all, or do you manage not to eat it? I would say the only time I've felt SO SUPPRESSED I couldn't eat was in the first two weeks. Other than that, I've just felt that everything is quieter and if I stop eating at the first sigh, then I realise I'm perfectly full.

Now I'm not sure where the line is between MJ and if I'm full because my stomach has shrunk after 3 months of eating like this, or my craving for sugar has depleted because I haven't eaten all the chocolate. I guess I'll find out when I move to maintenance 🤷

I was a bit shocked when I went out for a pub meal last minute on Monday night and couldn't finish all of my fish burger and chips. That's the first time it's happened to me and on my second dose of 7.5. But for example day before jab day I couldn't stop eating a box of ferrero Rocher and I've been the same with eating my kids eggs 🤦🏻‍♀️ I can live with that if it's at the end of my dose, however I think it shows exactly how I'll be if I come off this medication.

FuzzyFeelingFairy · 19/04/2025 16:41

Hey lovely losers! Hope you're all having a fabulous long bank holiday weekend. 😊

Interesting to see how we all describe food suppression. I'm on 10mg and have always been able to eat a full meal on MJ. However, it does help silence the constant thinking of food. Before MJ I'd be planning my meals for the day before I even got out of bed!

Had a bit of a blow out week this week. Holiday included one too many portions of fish and chips. Whoops! Back on it next week....

BlueLimes · 19/04/2025 17:15

@MummyInTheNecropolis @discov @myladyjane @MJalltheway thanks so much for your replies. I’ll cancel and see what happens. I’m about half way to goal but I think I need this long term, so thinking of next stage. I was boring DH about my slowness and I’ll really need to change my mindset so I don’t return to comfort/ stress eating. I also think I need to reassess my meals, maybe 4 small meals would better so I don’t want to snack L, but first I’m having a few mini eggs and have a new book to start. Having an Easter treat now as will jab tonight.

I just checked my progress on shotsy- 23lbs in 14 weeks - so about half a stone a month like others, which does help, it’s so good to have tiny job pals.

ps the mini egg bags are really small now - flipping Cadbury’s, a third more expensive but 25g smaller!

Randomusernameforcode · 19/04/2025 17:22

Hey all,
Can someone fact check my maths please? (I'm pretty sure i have dyscalculia).

Each pen is roughly 240 clicks.
40 clicks out of a 7.5mg pen gives 5mg. So I will get 6 full doses out of the pen just from clicking.
I know this is right but please can someone confirm.

Is anyone able to work out if I would have a bonus dose after this, and if so, roughly how much it would be please?

Thank yoooou.

BlueLimes · 19/04/2025 17:42

*tiny jab pals !!

BlueLimes · 19/04/2025 17:44

@Randomusernameforcode i think you’d need a during to get the bonus dose out but yes you should have a dose left, I’ve had slightly more than a full dose in all my pens after the 4th dose.

BlueLimes · 19/04/2025 17:50

NSV just tried on some size 12 jeans and they zip up (ignoring the muffin top for the time being).

cloudjumper · 19/04/2025 18:34

Checking in for a quick hello - I’m now back home from hospital, and the tiredness is unreal! Overdid it a bit yesterday, I really need to watch what/how much I do! Walking up and down the stairs numerous times yesterday has taken its toll.
But otherwise all good. Had my first 💩 since the surgery yesterday, that was not a pleasant experience 😣

I was able to continue with mj throughout, no break required, which I was very pleased about. Surprisingly, a lot of the nurses/healthcare workers in the hospital had no idea what mj is/does! What rocks have they been hiding under?!

I missed my usual weigh day on Wednesday, so I had a sneaky weigh today - I am now finally finally in the overweight BMI range (fully aware that it was the surgery that helped with getting there, but still!). Over halfway there!

SW 100.7kg
CW 83.4 kg
GW 70 kg

MananaPenelope · 19/04/2025 18:38

@cloudjumper good news that you are home and feeling ok, your weight loss is very impressive 🏆, well done.

Wow re lack of awareness of MJ! My only experience is the endocrinologist who was really negative and sniffy about it.

Zempy · 19/04/2025 18:41

My endocrinologist was super positive about MJ. He said “this stuff really works, and if I could prescribe it for you, I would “

MananaPenelope · 19/04/2025 18:46

@Zempy I remember that, mine talked about how I would just put the weight back on blah, blah and went on about pancreatitis risk. I told her that I had never had a problem with my weight before I had chemo/hormone treatment.

She then wrote what she had said in a letter to my GP copied to me at home, duly shredded. My GP then referred me to the NHS weight loss service which I declined.

Felt like a very negative experience. No one was interested in me not being able to lose the weight post treatment. I now know that I need to eat 1000-1100 cals a day max. Maybe NHS weight loss could have helped me to work that out at the end of my treatment.

Zempy · 19/04/2025 18:50

Such a shame @MananaPenelope. I am sure we have all experienced snotty medical people.

I haven’t been through the wringer like you have though. You have overcome more than most to work on your health, and I hope you are really proud of yourself. 💐

MananaPenelope · 19/04/2025 18:58

Thank you @Zempy, that’s kind. I think we all have our own things going on, a day at a time.

HeavyHeidi · 19/04/2025 20:12

@cloudjumper glad to hear you are home!

@MananaPenelope so sorry about your shitty experience.
Reminds me the time my hip started hurting (due to hypermobility, as it was later determined) and GP sent me to a physiothrapist. Who was a young guy, took one look at me, middle aged fat woman, and suggested that I simply have to strenghten my legs, do a few bodyweight squats, simple.
I flexed my quads and asked if I should do the magical curing bodyweight squats before or after weightlifting sessions.. 😁

Polkadotdash · 19/04/2025 21:04

@cloudjumper glad the surgery went well. Did they tell you how much your uterus weighed? I’m really keen to know what my beast of a fibroid weighs. But I’m worried they will think I’m weird if I ask them to weigh it 😂
