Thanks everyone, yes I have a John Lewis stylist booked at end of May to get some ideas and I’m contemplating having my colours done too. I’m the same as you @HeavyHeidi, and I do need some help! I have some brands I love but not sure what size I’d be now, I think I prob need to go real life shopping and try things on first! I’m off to Leeds this weekend so that’s my opportunity, then I know what size I am currently, can trawl Vinted before style consultation in May when I get ideas for goal. I think I kind of know what suits me, but it’s tops/ shirts and blazers I’ve always struggled with because of my chest and ribcage! Really appreciate all of your tips! Hoping the stuff I’ve put on Vinted sells to help fund new clothes!

asparagusfearne · 17/04/2025 08:25

A Vinted fail/NSV for me this morning - have had some shorts listed for sale for a couple of years, in my pile of things that were too small but I was reluctant to part with (purchased 17 years ago!)... anyway they finally sold this week, I dug them out to post and thought oh let's just see if they go on?
They didn't quite do up but very close. So apologies to the buyer I'm keeping these for now!

HeavyHeidi · 17/04/2025 08:29

oh yes I've given away so many clothes that were hopelessly too small. Pretty sure many would fit now.

Jins · 17/04/2025 08:59

Thanks @2025istheyeari. I’m leaning towards it being an episode of my condition rather than a MJ side effect as this morning I feel much better. A little bit of residual pain from the cramps. I’d forgotten how painful it could be and that before MJ it was very frequent.

Anyway today is another day and I’m weighing artificially light at 9st 12.2 as I didn’t eat at all last night. I’m going to take it easy today with ‘safe’ foods and hopefully I’ll be back to normal tomorrow which is jab day.

I had a look on Vinted earlier but I’m still very much between body shapes rather than sizes so decided to move on before I bought another bag or pair of shoes. I’m almost ready for jeans and not quite feeling the need to make any.

These are my bargain sandals. So comfortable and hopefully not too deeply unfashionable.

I'm feeling a bit bleugh today. I actually sort of went down a dose yesterday as I did a larger bonus dose last week and just stuck with the 5mg yesterday. I'm feeling way more suppressed than last week and can still feel my dinner repeating on me. It was a lemony broccoli pasta and I don't think I'll be having it again !

MJalltheway · 17/04/2025 11:34

Hello all! Back from our little break and family party. Had a mixed time, holiday itself was lovely but car broke down on the way home resulting in a 5 hour journey actually taking 14 hours 😭. Had to get car recovered home and wound up eating a Bakewell flapjack in a service station at 1am. Not the healthiest day of food!
despite all that, weighed this morning and I'm down 1.1kg! Official weigh day is tomorrow but so pleased with that, I'll definitely be firmly into the 80s.
I've just adjusted my next pen to stay on 7.5mg, don't need to move up at all I don't think.
I went in to cancel my voy plan and they offered a discount on the next 2 pens so I will stick with them for now because I was only moving because of the price difference.
off to catch up with everyone's news now!

Oh gosh you poor things, what a journey 😟. Well done on the weight loss, that’s amazing especially when you’ve been away!! Hope the car is ok and you’re over your traumatic journey!

MJalltheway · 17/04/2025 15:29

Car is in the garage now so just waiting to hear what the bill is 😬
So many people approaching goal/maintenance doses, how exciting! Maybe we should keep a 'hall of fame' list to add people to once they get to goal.

What is everyone planning for Easter, are you going to have an egg? My MIL has got me one I know, but I won't see her until afterwards anyway. I did get some hot cross buns today, I think having one of those will be my Easter indulgence. Feel slightly sick that in previous years I would have probably eaten 3 or 4 packets by now, plus multiple packs of Lidl marzipan eggs. If I can learn moderation, I would be able to have these as an occasional treat rather than gorging myself on them!

BlueLimes · 17/04/2025 15:35

@MJalltheway I’ve got ab egg and planning to eat a small slice of mini egg cheesecake. Hopefully won’t do too much damage on the scales although I am a tortoise.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 17/04/2025 16:19

My son got about 12 creme egg sized hollow eggs at an Easter egg hunt yesterday. He's only just 3 so we might need to eat some to prevent him having so much chocolate. I don't normally let him have it as I don't want to start down the chocolate and sweets road this early, but it is Easter.

Thelittlestranger · 17/04/2025 20:23

I may have mentioned that I would be partial to a bit of nutty chocolate today in case anyone wanted to buy me some. I think a couple of pieces would be a lovely thing - don't actually fancy too much though 😱

So looking forward to having some days off this weekend. Work has been intense and I've been glued to my phone. Time to take the work apps off the phone as rengage with my family.

@MJalltheway that sounds a bit of a hell journey back but pleased you had a great time and a great weigh in!

I have done a colour analysis session about 20 years ago. Useful as I am not a visual person and couldn’t see what worked for me. Until someone showed me. Pain is that the colours that suit me are quite tricky to find on the high street and wear day to day (I am a paintbox spring so lots of warm bright high contrast colours). It felt like a great bit of self care I must say and I wish I’d done the style day.

i did my sneaky weigh in and sts which was better than I expected. Will weigh in again on Monday so i can reorder.

I have a couple of lindor eggs (the creme egg size). I have had a couple as treats over the past few weeks but have yet to finish one!

workingbalance · 17/04/2025 23:19

Gosh lots of impressive losses and being close to target weights. It’s lovely to catch up and read about everyone’s journeys. I’m still (and need to!) losing but it’s in tiny increments and I really are not eating very much nor tempted by anything close to a ‘treat’. I’ve only just gone up to 5mg due to some horrendous side effects so maybe I’ll see a weight drop soon of more than 100gms in a week! I really can’t eat much less as I’m working out most days and I just feel like I need some energy. However I re did my measurements today and it seems like I’ve lost 5 inches off my hips! I’ve definitely got very very baggy jeans now! Thankfully my teenage DD thinks they now look ‘cool’ on me!!!

HeavyHeidi · 18/04/2025 07:16

@workingbalance 5 inches! That must be a ton of weight lost, even if on 100gr increments.

my pen jammed yesterday mid-shot so had to use a syringe on top and am not entirely sure what dose I got. Will see how the week goes and maybe top up.

Zempy · 18/04/2025 08:29

The plateau has been vanquished!!!

Not only that, I am finally ten stone something! Can’t quite believe it!!

SW 13 st 7. Jan 8
CW 10 st 13
GW1 10 st 6 (BMI 25)
GW2. 9 st 7. (BMI 22)

It has been a struggle lads, it really has, and without the medication I would have gone full “fuck it” and polished off six hot cross buns slathered in lurpak.

I need to watch myself around 10 st 3 as that has previously been a difficult set point.

I injected a day early last night because the dose I had dropped down to had worn off. I injected 6.25 and am hopeful this will give me that balance of suppression, without the extreme lethargy and headache I was experiencing on 7.5.

The big wardrobe changeover this weekend. I am certainly a bit more optimistic about it! I have to be brave enough to get rid of the stuff that is too big.

Have a very Happy Easter fellow Losers. 🐣

BlueLimes · 18/04/2025 08:31

Yay well done @Zempy

Amazing too @workingbalance

Sorry if I’ve missed posts - the thread moves quick!

Happy Easter 🐣

That was the hardest thing I found when starting these was the lack of energy my body felt when doing exercise. I assume it was my body getting used to having so few calories - but I found it so tough to get through a normal exercise routine at all.

That's all changed now - my energy has returned, and I can only assume my body has just got used to it having less cals to burn?

Mammogram yesterday which is on one of the circles of hell. Not sure which one but it checks the boxes for discomfort and exposure. I’m not counting it as an NSV but it seemed easier to separate boob from fat prior to the clamp.

Peak hypochondria yesterday as stomach pain continued beyond what I’d consider reasonable. Upper central abdomen so clearly pancreatitis. DH was very patient with me and explained that having stomach pain that didn’t actually prevent me mopping the kitchen and no other symptoms wasn’t worrying him too much. Idiot! Clearly it was MJ related pancreatitis. Decided to delay jabbing until Saturday and see how things go.

Now the sensible thing would have been to contact Oushk or my GP or something like that but we check in today for our flight and the last thing I need is a history of pancreatitis on my record because obviously it’ll reoccur while I’m away and I won’t be covered (even though it’s Greece and reciprocal agreement etc)

Anyway it’s wind. I’m jet propelled this morning.

Weigh in shortly, jab later and hopefully carry on as normal with fewer histrionics.

Zempy · 18/04/2025 08:52

@Jins I have gigantic boobs and hate having mammograms. I get through it by adopting a very fake jolly persona… ha ha ha, isn’t it funny, I don’t know if I have the strength to lift this one, ha ha ha. 😳

Well done surviving that, and surviving the pancreatitis. Have a fantastic holiday!!!

Jins · 18/04/2025 09:00

@Zempy thanks very much and congratulations on un-plateauing. We share the 10st 3 sticking point.

We don’t actually fly today, just check in online. There’s a whole 28 days before our actual holiday. Hence my concern. Obviously with only 28 days before we fly and me with a dreadful case of walking pancreatitis all bets were off. Honestly I can be such a muppet at times.

Anyway weigh in now complete and I’ve gained my artificial weightloss back because I’ve actually eaten something but I’m a pound down from last week which will do nicely.

SW. 11st 5 BMI 28.
CW. 9st 13. BMI 24.6
GW. 9st. BMI 22.3

MananaPenelope · 18/04/2025 09:23

@Jins, I went out for dinner last night. A new local Asian restaurant, I wasn’t impressed, there was far too much oil involved for me. I didn’t eat much of my food but when I went to bed my stomach, middle waist and left size area, felt like it was fizzing inside, a very weird fizzy stabbing pain. Of course my first thoughts turned to pancreatitis 🤦‍♀️.

All is well this morning. 😂

Zempy · 18/04/2025 09:28

I convinced myself I had perforated something last night when I injected (syringe) because I had a one off sharp pain about a minute later.

I come from a family of hypochondriacs. We all take the piss out of each other as a way to manage it.

DS recently had “tuberculosis”.

TicTac80 · 18/04/2025 09:47

Morning all!! I hope you guys are well. Today is (I think) week 14 or 15? I started on Jan 3rd. I should be starting on the 10mg today but am tempted to hold off the dose today (as I'm doing an early Easter roast dinner thing), and then trying a midway dose between 7.5mg and 10mg tomorrow (or even a 7.5mg dose). I've got a family meal on Sunday and don't want to go up to the 10mg as I'll probs be unable to face food this weekend. Has anyone else done that?

CW 59.35kg, BMI 21.7, fat 29.7%, sub cut fat 27.7% visceral fat 5, water 48.2%
SW: a lot more than what I am now!!

MananaPenelope · 18/04/2025 09:47

@Zempy 😂. I’m ok during the day, never a worry. I think I must have ‘hypochondria in the hours of darkness syndrome’.

I’m feeling much better three days on from my injection, still tired but all gastric symptoms have gone. Definitely going back to 2.5 mg.

I know I sound like an Ouskh groupie, I emailed them at about 6pm the other day asking to change my delivery back to DPD if they’d sorted the issues with their local depot. They responded at about 9pm, delivery method changed. They deserve to do very well as a business, customer service, whether you need advice on side effects or something as mundane as delivery method, really is 5*.

Jins · 18/04/2025 09:58

Years ago someone, probably my mother, gave me a book called the Hypochondriac’s Handbook. It listed all the really serious things you could have from really common symptoms. Runny nose = cerebrospinal fluid leak sort of thing. I bet I could add a few extra chapters nowadays.

DH does occasionally run complicated cases past me despite me having no medical or veterinary training whatsoever and no relevant career experience. He finds it useful to have some real left field suggestions into the mix. In 30 years I’ve been absolutely right once and I still go on about it.

I’m glad I’m not alone.
