New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

@Puddingpiper do you mean drinking in general, or alcohol? I am drinking SO much more water , but my verging on problematic wine habit has disappeared. Which I'm very grateful for.

Me too - drinking lots more water, including overnight 😆 not touched alcohol but hardly drink anyway

Hi everyone,

End of March starter here, due to take my third dose this weekend.

have started reading through some of the posts, but just wanted to ask when is the best time to weigh?
I’ve been weighing every day so far but think I’m getting a bit obsessive about it so want to go back to weekly weighing but do you weigh before or after your dose?

I weigh everyday because I find it helpful to see how daily intake/exercise affects my weight. But the weight day that I actually record is a Monday am, so after the weekend, which was always my downfall. I jab on a Thursday evening for max weekend suppression. So weigh day for me isn't jab day.

BVsMum · 11/04/2025 09:16

Just had my 4th jab this morning. So far have lost 4.1kg. I need to think of reordering, but I wonder whether to go up to 5mg or stay on 2.5mg.

Does weight loss slow down if you stay on the same dose for long?

I weigh everyday in the morning now but record when it goes down as I find I can see the trend better and worry less about it fluctuating

Good morning everyone

@MamaBanana12 you really made me laugh, I think that I may have to go down the route that you did as I am a little blocked.

@TryingMJ we started on the same day and started at nearly the same weight.

I am going to give you all a little recap about why I decided to go on MJ.
I am 46 years old and peri menopausal and have put on a lot of weight with HRT, I have also had a death in the family (parent), 2 of my children had life changing illnesses within 2 months of each other. My weight has crept up since CV19 but in the last 2 years has taken a turn for the worse. I was always before than between 9 stone and 10.5 stone and could loss weight easily now its a different story. I also have underactive thyroid disease.
I decided to take MJ when i looked in the mirror and saw a women I did not know staring back at me, she looked tired, bloated and fat. I had let myself go completely because I hated my size and was hiding behind clothes. These last 6 weeks have been so different I am putting myself first and working on myself and I had no idea how my appearance was effecting me.

Weigh in 6 today and 2nd week on 5ml and I have lost 4lbs which is amazing and clothes are starting to feel a lot looser.

SW 13st 4lbs
CW 11st 7lbs
TW 9st 7lbs
Total weight lost 25lbs to date an bloody average 2 year old.

Drinking in general I’m not thirsty at all

Oh really, no I'm the opposite. I was SO thirsty the first week. Still drinking plenty of water, 3 litres a day plus hot drinks.

I've ordered 5mg, it was the same price at 2.5 so gives the option of taking 2 5, 5 or anywhere in between

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 11/04/2025 09:38

@TheSpoonyNavyReader similar story here. Slim and fit most of my life. Gained a bit of weight post DC, lost a load using shakes but then piled it all back on plus more. Didn't recognise myself, and really started to notice the impact on my ability to do stuff. Sitting on the floor, getting up, putting sandals on! Also, 47, hypothyroid, anaemia, high BP...

I feel SO much better already as I near the end of week 4, 20lbs down! For all the procrastinating I did, I'm bloody delighted I started.

Screamindreamin · 11/04/2025 09:51

@taylorswift1989 I have bought a bundle of 2.5 and 5 for 233. This should last for 2 and a half months now with golden dose.

You’ve just changed my mind about my next order, I was going to stick with 2.5 but with the 5mg I can either dose for twice as long or slowly increase as needed.

I keep my pen in the fridge and there’s nothing I’ve seen about it being less effective if open for 2 months, I may do a little googling now however to be sure

Same here regarding not recognising myself and letting myself go, I think I just stopped caring about looking after myself and what I put in my body. I’ve also stopped being as social, preferring to stay at home majority of the time and haven’t taken any pictures of myself for almost 7 years because I feel disgusted with what I see.

I’m ready to start making more memories and to stop hating myself. Most of all I want to go on holiday as I refuse to at this size.

I’ve always been a little chubby, I was a size 16 most of my life but in proportion. Back then I felt like the fat girl and comments were always made about my size, now I’d love to be back at that size!! Isn’t it funny how society and fashion shapes our mind and the effect it has on us is such a shame.

CallMeStella · 11/04/2025 10:07

On MJ expiry, I just found this on MedicalNewsToday:

Based on the stability data submitted by the manufacturers of Mounjaro, its expiry period is 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored at 2°C to 8°C.

mounjstarter · 11/04/2025 10:25

Morning all. It’s been exactly a month since I started, and I am amazed at the impact it’s had already. I have lost 13lbs, and that’s while still eating a balanced diet, just smaller portions, and a lot less sweet/carby junk. I’m still having the occasional bit of chocolate or a biscuit once in a while, but nothing like as much as I used to eat. The biggest difference I think is how much less pasta, bread, potatoes etc I can manage to eat. No bad thing. I can’t believe it. My digestion has improved (no more IBS symptoms), and my BP is now perfect for my age. I’m going up to 5mg for the next dose, so hoping I don’t get nasty side effects. Like many PP’s, it’s been a tough few years with bereavements, illness, menopause and work stress, which have all taken their toll (mostly around my middle). I can’t wait to wear nice summer clothes again. Great to hear all your positive stories.
I’d like to know, how is it possible I have lost so much with hardly even trying? I don’t feel weak or fatigued, and I’m getting lots of protein. I presume the loss slows down as your body adjusts?

Amjam2025 · 11/04/2025 10:52

Hello!
Week 5 day 4 for me, I'm on my first week at 5mg at the mo. I only got a few se such as headaches and feeling a bit cold and achey, similar to the first week of 2.5mg but that wore off quickly.
Glad I moved up cos I had zero fullness and zero suppression by the last week of 2.5. Now I'm on the 5mg, it's returned but perhaps not quite as strong as when I started the 2.5. Not had the 'Xmas dinner' feeling yet lol. Hoping that will come as I continue with 5mg.
Although I'm only 5 weeks in, my weight loss has stalled. I'm eating 1,100 to 1,200 kcsls per day as I was recommended, doing the usual 10k steps but my weight has not budged for over a week!! 😟😢

Crikeyalmighty · 11/04/2025 11:11

@Amjam2025 when I lost a lot of weight not using WLI , I used to eat ‘normally’ for3 days- back to around1600 to 1800 cals and then back to the 1100 or so and found that worked for me in getting the loss moving again

Yetanotherusername2000 · 11/04/2025 12:03

I have reached a plateau on week 4 and feel so disheartened. Going up to 5mg next Tuesday and really hope that helps. I feel bloated and lacking energy, and hungry but full all at the same time if that makes sense.
I am going to try and drink lots of water to see if that helps, but feeling sad today.

RuthEvershedforPM · 11/04/2025 13:22

@Yetanotherusername2000 and @Amjam2025 sorry to hear about the plateaus - it’s so deflating even when you know academically it’s a blip. I find cutting carbs can help in this situation because they make you retain water. Probably doesn’t make a difference overall but in terms of seeing the regular small wins …

Amjam2025 · 11/04/2025 13:43

@Crikeyalmighty @Yetanotherusername2000 @RuthEvershedforPM
Thank you for the replies and advice, It's disheartening to say the least, I'm being so good with food choices so very frustrating especially because im about to break through into the 9 stones when I lose the next lb or so! (BTW even though I'm only 10 stone I'm very short so still look very chubby!)
It's only been about 10 days of staying same weight (give or take a quarter of a pound) which isnt disastrous but I'm going try the things you mention and drink more, cut down on carbs and have a 'treat' day over the weekend and see if that's gets things moving again!! Thanks!

AgnethaF · 11/04/2025 14:34

Just taken 5th jab. Tried, and failed to get the golden dose from my first pen. Have moved up to 5mg. Have noticed my hunger/saiety has decreased this week.

plus no weight loss this week, so a bit disappointed as have been sticking to approx 1200 Cals per day. I’ve not “been” since Wednesday. Any natural laxative or softener recommendations?

my turkey neck is looking extremely wrinkly. Any thoughts on lotions and potions? Or possibly collagen?

SW 14.11
CW 14.0

SharpOpalNewt · 11/04/2025 14:35

I'm now down 12lbs, coming up to 7th jab (3rd of 5mg) tomorrow.

SW 13st 4lbs
CW 12st 6lbs
GW 11st 0lbs

Finding I want more carbs (but am staying within my calories ok) on 5mg. Side effects ok apart from a migraine last week, but it was short lived.

If my weight stalls I'll try 5:2 or other intermittent fasting or variable calories on different days- I am varying it a bit anyway. Next week I'm hoping to get to the one stone off marker and down into top end of the 26s for BMI!

tryingtobesogood · 11/04/2025 14:47

Those of you who suffer from bloating/wind try windeze. I had awful stomach cramps from over doing the fibre yesterday and these helped so much.

@AgnethaF
I have found mixing in a bit of flax seed and chia seeds into my daily yogurt (I have it either for breakfast or a bedtime snack) has helped a lot in the constipation department. It seems to be much worse this week, as I have just moved up to 5mg. Same happened to me on the 2.5 pen. I had terrible constipation the first week and half and then it got better. Crossing fingers it is a similar experience this month.

Mantha78 · 11/04/2025 15:01

Hi - where did you buy the bundle from?

Overjiggly · 11/04/2025 15:05

@Pipsballoon I took a break (missed a week) during to SE a bad cold and my TOTM all at the same time and didn't have problems restarting although I did split my dose

Week 6 weigh in

SW 18st 7
CW 17st 7
1st Mini Goal 16st 4lb

This week -1lb so finally hit that 1 stone loss yay!

Weight loss has slowed but I'd be very happy with 1lb a week from now.

Split doses still working nicely for me.

Also stepped up the kettlebells this week and now I ache! But in a good exercisey way.

Crikeyalmighty · 11/04/2025 15:44

@Amjam2025 also although you feel chubby the reality is you probably only have a couple of stone max to lose - even if you are only 5ft tall - and it may be much less than that if you are taller than that- I think that’s much harder than those who are 16 stone and have maybe far more water weight to come off.
