Welcome one and all to the next instalment of our magical weight-loss journeys!

Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

Has anyone seen a badger? I’ve lost one!

Congratulations everybody on the continued weight loss!
I feel we are moving now into the territory where others might comment on the weight loss.
Are you planning on telling people about the jab?
I'm aware it depends on who is commenting. But so far I have only told my husband and one friend.
I'm not sure if I want to tell people but am a bit worried if somebody is asking directly.
... I might be overthinking this a bit...

Dh and I have decided to not tell anyone. People who aren't overweight/obese are just poorly educated on it. I think you have to be overweight to be invested enough to do the research. No matter what you say they're going to hold their own view. I think it will take a few years to change the prevailing attitude.

Just pick a diet and say you're doing that - low carb/fast800 etc or simply say you're practicing portion control with intermittent fasting (which isn't so far from the truth!).

I think the suppliers really push titration to be honest - I'm with MedEx and they suggest it every time, then in small print it says 'or you can order 2.5mg you loser.. ' OK it doesn't say that last bit but they clearly want people to motor on up the doses.

I went with zava for my second pen. They are sending emails prompting me to reorder, but with really helpful information under the headings with the gist of
You may wish to increase your dose if...
You may wish to stay on the same dose if...
You may wish to reduce your dose if...

It seems much more sensible

OntheTrainX · 04/04/2025 17:24

I just tell people who ask what “my secret” is that I’m eating less food and playing more golf. Both things are perfectly true.

sweetpickle2 · 04/04/2025 17:30

My DP knows, I haven’t announced to anyone else but if someone asked me directly I’d tell them. I’m not bothered if people know.

WLINewbie · 04/04/2025 18:52

Just ordered my 3rd pen from medexpress, 2nd 5mg dose. I, personally, didn't feel any influence to go up a dose. Ordered today and being delivered tomorrow, guessing the delays are with new customers or people increasing dose.

Need to start thinking about switching to a supplier who supports maintenance. I don't check my weight often but I've lost lots of inches and look a lot smaller than I did 2 months ago. Just a bit worried if a new supplier wants photos.

I don't want to be on injections forever but I'm not kidding myself that my diet hasn't been down to MJ. My attitude and behaviours around food on MJ are how I've always wanted to be.

Bluehels · 04/04/2025 19:20

@WLINewbie @sweetpickle2
thank you for advice I managed to inject into my arm this evening. I found it really tricky to push the plunger into the pen so I depends on results of suppression whether Id try this again. Also I noticed that the needle came out bent🫤 Hoping medicine still went in🤞

Hangryfastjo · 04/04/2025 19:43

Let us all know the results @Bluehels , im always interested in this

Ordered a Chinese this evening- for various boring work reasons I’ve hardly eaten today so reasoned it was okay as I a) was starving and b) had barely had any calories all day.

I started off by plating up a very small amount but ate that very quickly so eagerly went back in and plated up what would have been a pre-MJ portion for me and sat back down excited to eat it… managed about two bites! It was only egg fried rice and a bit of sweet and sour chicken, no other sides or anything. Pre MJ I’d have wolfed that down and then some.

Ooooh me too! Chips as well.

For those that don't mind a ready meal I highly recommend the My Protein frozen meals from Iceland. I've had the salt and pepper meat feast noodles and the prawn linguine so far. Taste pretty good, very filling, and low calorie/high protein. Plus quick and easy on busy days where I don't wanna deal with cooking and weighing/tracking every little thing.

SpiralSister · 05/04/2025 06:58

Morning lovelies! I’m bright and early this morning as going away for the weekend with DH. A rare treat. Feeling really confident that I can make healthy choices all weekend and still have a fabulous time! Plus I’ll be wearing lots of gorgeous new things in a size smaller!

Weighing in one day early:
SW: 15.5
CW: 13.9
TW: 11.5
TL: 1.10
2nd week of 5mg starts tomorrow.

NSVs yesterday - painting my toenails was sooo much easier. I can put my socks on standing up again. It’s not just the loss of bulk (ugh), but the flexibility and improvement in my creaky old lady joints. This stuff really is miraculous!

Have a great weekend everyone 💐

Prep’d protein at Asda do some good meals as well - their chipotle chili is pretty good. They also do some protein chicken meals which come in about 380- 450 calories and are pretty tasty - the white whine chicken with peas beans and rice was really nice - admittedly I wasn’t expecting much but I really enjoyed it! We have a microwave at work so they’re handy to have when I don’t feel like meal pep at 6am.

MJSpideySenses · 05/04/2025 07:56

@Zibb I had the salt and pepper chicken and rice My Protein meal last night while DH and DS had chippy. Only 370cals. Added some veg to it and it was lovely.

@HoratioBum they sound good, I might have to take a look.

I'm all for the odd convenience food to keep me on track.

@SpiralSister have a great weekend! Fully with you on the putting on socks standing up 😄

I'm going to the pub tonight with family and friends. I haven't decided if I'm going to drink or not. I have had the odd drink since starting and felt fine. I have been lucky throughout really as I can eat spicy or greasy food, drink alcohol etc, so far without any negative impact but it does mean I have to make the choice of what to have 😅

W7 D1 (week 3 on 5mg)

SW: 16st 5
CW: 15st 1.4
Total loss: 1st 4lb

Only half a pound off this week which doesn't surprise me at all, it's been such a weird week with side effects and I haven't been consistent with either exercise or what I've been eating, although I've still been well within my calories. My body feels sluggish but I've got my period just now so I'm fine with the small loss.

With the nicer weather this week I've been wearing trainers and trainers socks and I can see my ankles emerging nicely 😎

WoolerOwl · 05/04/2025 09:28

NSV: size 12-14 knickers (new!) and not 16-18. Also, ankles reappearing. Size 14L M&S black cords fit comfortably again, and I don’t have to lie on my back and wiggle my tummy fat to be able to do up the button.

There’s still a lot of belly fat to go though! About 20kg, I reckon.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 05/04/2025 10:00

@viktoria I have been totally open about it. It’s been great, and actually has allowed for some really good conversations, particularly now the results are so clear.

Hola! weekly update from me
W10D1
Current dose 5mg
SW 124kg
CW 110.8KG
Loss this week 1.8kg but this has been largely due to tonsillitis! Finding it hard swallow ATM.

pjsandplants · 05/04/2025 12:07

Weekly update from me
SW 15st 11lb
CW 14st 8lb
Total lost 1st 3lb

I did my 3rd 5mg jab last night and have decided to stick with 5mg next month as well as suppression I still good and I'm losing 2-3lb a week. Still no side effects apart from the odd sulphur burp.

NSV today - have had to buy some new clothes as most of mine are now too big! Have dropped from a 22 to an 18-20.

Happy weekend everyone x

SpiralSister · 05/04/2025 13:06

Wotcher! Just having a break from shopping to say that I have 2 new tops and a jacket in a size 14.
I was all giddy at being a 16, now it appears I’m a 14 on top. I was 18-20 2 months ago!

WLINewbie · 05/04/2025 13:08

Week 8, Day 1

Took jag this morning, jag day is always my hungriest day but had quite high (for me) suppression this week so may be different.

2nd 5mg pen arrived from medexpress, less than 24 hours after ordering.

ctrlaltdelete1 · 05/04/2025 13:54

Taking third 5mg tonight (so week7) but weighed around lunchtime so:

SW: 263.0 lb
CW: 259.8 lb

So nearly at 1 stone off. yay!

Loving not thinking about food all the time. I definitely notice a bit of a difference in that clothes aren’t as tight and face not as puffy! And IBD symptoms pretty much gone which is amazing too! Always nervous that that could change but so far only positives!

Now debating strength of next pen - 5mg definitely working well so far - will see how tonight’s works and order next one during the week.

eleanorwish · 05/04/2025 14:15

Week 8, Day 1 for me, had my 4th 5mg dose last night.
SW 15st 3lbs
CW 14st 3lbs

So I've finally lost a stone and am now 199lbs! I can't remember the last time I was under 200 lbs.
Suppression has been ok so far and not many side effects so will stick with 5mg for now.
When I look at my reflection in a full length mirror I definitely look a little narrower! And I can almost fit in my size 18 jeans ( my belly is the only thing keeping my size 20's from falling down!)

Mounjaronewbie25 · 05/04/2025 14:59
