So I see that many of you are having to deal with side effects on 5mg. I postponed my jab of 5mg last week (took it Tuesday instead of Friday so 11 days in between) and I couldn't face doing my injection yesterday either. I might until Friday, so again 10 days in between jabs.
Is anyone else doing that? Just increasing the intervals in between the injections to avoid the side effects (or rather to recover from side effects)?

Forgive me playing devil's advocate, if you don't inject for 10 days you'll have less in your system at the time of your dose.
If the strength of side effects are caused not just the additional dose causes side effects but the difference between what your current levels and the new injection the side effects, could the effects be worse than every 7 days? It may not be happen of course.

If you plot your plans on a website like this you'll see what I mean https://glp1calculator.com/plotiq.html

And in case it helps I'm currently injecting 1.8mg every 4 days. This is roughly equivalent to 3.75. The side effects have been fairly minimal so far.

The Mj manufacturer says people must have at least 3 days between injections but I'm doing 4.

To be honest I hadn't really thought much about effectiveness of doses. Just couldn't stand the thought of going through with another injection.
I have read quite a lot about reducing the dosis, splitting it and so on but I've never come across your plan of splitting the dosis in half and injecting twice a week. That seems clever!
I think I'll just ask my doctor to put me back on 2,5 mg as the weight loss worked fine for me on that dosis and side effects were minimal.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 02/04/2025 17:01

@getthingsdone please ignore my last post. I was wrong.

I've just been scrolling the Oushk fb group and someone has had less side effects on 5 by extending the time between doses to 10 days.

Hangryfastjo · 02/04/2025 14:49

I think i would worry about the pen going out of date @getthingsdone .

My first week on 5mg was hard but took my third on monday and it seems to be getting easier.
I've not needed to speak to my provider, but see it advised a lot. Have many of you done this? Are they receptive to having a discussion if needed and how long do you have to wait to speak to someone. Just curious really

I asked them about when to go up a dose - they were really quick coming back and with lots of info. Also the offer of calling if needed.

I’m surprised more people don’t ask them, tbh. This is an expensive old carry on, and I think actual service and care should be part of the package. Maybe this is a side effect (ha!) of people shopping around so much - there’s no continuity of care/ care at all.

For those of us reaching the under 30 BMI mark, just thought I’d share this list of providers who support maintenance:
https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-maintenance-pharmacies/

So far I’ve been hopping around providers, but I know some won’t take on ‘new’ customers under 30 BMI, and some don’t support long term maintainence. I’m giving serious consideration to sticking with one provider from here on in, just to have peace of mind that I will be able to stay on a maintenance dose of MJ even as I come out of the high BMI range.

I did Oushk for my first pen and the IQ Dr for my two 5mg pens. I'm thinking I'll just stick with them now as they price match apparently and do maintenance (although not fully sure what that looks like). IQ have also sent letters straight to my doctors about the two pens they've supplied.

Yeah I’m thinking IQ Doctor or Farmeci look good for price matching and maintenance. I’m with Farmeci currently so could just stick with them. Looking for whoever will do the best ongoing discount on 5mg as I don’t think I’ll be going higher.

aylis · 02/04/2025 20:47

So much better today after the last two days on 5mg - a slight tweak seems to have helped, instead of eating in the morning which I hate to do I had three smaller meals over the course of the afternoon and early evening (instead of two bigger ones and a snack). Seems to have worked, either that or it's just coincidence - who knows!

However. Feeling extremely bloated today and like I haven't lost a single lb 😅

DelightfullySoSo · 02/04/2025 21:21

Is anyone still on 2.5mg? I'm going to stay on 2.5mg for my 3rd pen but I feel like everyone who started at the same time as me is moving or has already moved up to 5mg.

I'm also still finding the suppression sweet spot on 30 clicks of the 5mg pen (far more suppressed than on the 2.5mg which is bizarre!!). Comfortably hitting my targets cals most days, sightly under on others. No bad side effects still thankfully.

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 02/04/2025 21:34

@DelightfullySoSoi am still on 2.5 just done my 10th dose. I am happy with my losses, suppression is definitely there, but I’m always ready for my dinner. No picking me in between, haven’t had sweets or chocolate or crisps since I started. Really happy with it.

Almost... I have a 5mg pen, but counting clicks and did 35 last week, so a tad over the 2.5mg. I'm not just going to blindly increase doses each pen. I have lost 9.5kg in 7.5 weeks, and it would be unhealthy to lose weight faster than that. I don't get any particular side effects, except maybe sometimes a dry mouth and sometimes feeling cold. My appetite feels like a normal healthy person would be. I am easily eating 13-1500 calories, sometimes under, sometimes over, but I don't want to suppress my appetite further by increasing the dose. It feels just right to be fair and I have no desire to chase complete food suppression and rapid weight loss. I want to do this the right way and healthily. I find it so confusing to see quite a few people in our Feb starters group are on 7.5mg now, that just seems so wild to me!

I’m staying close to 2.5mg for my third pen. might try and do 3mg for a while and see how that goes. Seems better value to get a 5mg pen even if I’m sticking closer to 2.5mg. I’ve been happy with my losses so far and how I feel on 2.5mg.

Morning Monjers!
jab day today, 3rd week on 5mg. Lost 2 lb last week, which has been the case for the last 3 weeks now , so it looks like I may have finally found my groove.
I’ve had this bloody awful cough and runny nose this week so I’ve felt particularly grotty. Food has had absolutely no appeal at all. I’ve felt really hungry at times too, but when it came to it looking in the fridge there was nothing I fancied. Even had a hot cross bun at one point thinking that would tempt me which was distinctly meh. Normally I would have eaten the whole packet!
looking forward to this weekend as DH is away for most of it doing his hobby. I will miss him but not the expectation of still having to cook meals. I’ll be so happy that I can just have a chicken salad or some toast without feeling guilty that I’m not cooking a whole bloody roast or similar!

CaramelEmporium · 03/04/2025 08:50

Morning, I’ve been following the thread but not posted before. I’ve stayed on 2.5 mg. This is my third pen and I’ve just had the first jab this morning. I’m happy with my progress. I think I am eating not dissimilarly to how I did pre-MJ just without the evening snacking. I’m still enjoying food, having a drink, having the occasional chocolate etc. I still need to use willpower but the MJ is helping me to make better choices. It feels right for me. I’m hoping that by staying on a lower dose will make it easier to hopefully come off eventually.

Has anyone had delays ordering first time from medexpress? I put the order through on Monday. Sent all the documentation they needed and it’s sat at ‘awaiting clinical review’ since then. It’s pretty shit service so I don’t think I’ll be ordering from them again.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 03/04/2025 10:06

I'm happily ticking along on 3.75. I'm losing 1.5lb a week which is perfectly fine.

I've ordered a 5mg pen next but intend to stay on 3.75 for as long as it feels right.

No it was a lot quicker than that when I ordered from them. Maybe send them a chase up email?

MynameisJune · 03/04/2025 11:28

Med express were rubbish, they wanted more evidence but couldn’t accept more than one picture and I couldn’t get my details and the med details on one screenshot and I don’t have my box.

so I’ve cancelled and asked for a refund. What a disappointment

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 03/04/2025 12:27

First 7.5mg for me today. I don't know why but I felt a bit nervous, maybe because it feels like big girl doses!
Anyway, I only lost 0.4kg last week, i know it's still a loss but I was hoping for a bit more. I've not been sleeping well the last 2 nights, I think I'm coming up to TOTM so maybe that's having an impact.

SW 82.6kg
CW 75.3kg
Total loss to date 7.3kg

Target weight - I'm hoping to reach 70kg bit I doubt I'll get there so I'll just try and get as close as possible!

Happy Thursday 😊

Warmautumnbreeze · 03/04/2025 12:30

Guys, did anyone start to get side effects on week 6? I did my 2nd dose of my 2nd pen on Tuesday night, 3.75 from a 5 mg pen and today I am rooouuugh. Feel really nauseous like I can't bare to eat anything, I can hear my stomach gurgling away. I didn't think I'd get side effects at this point!

Anyone got any advice please? This is miserable!

Hangryfastjo · 03/04/2025 12:43

@Warmautumnbreeze my 6th shot was my first 5mg, which completely knocked me sideways. Fatigue, nausea, feeling full, couldn't think about food.
What helped me was eating little and often. I had a couple of biscuits, which seemed to lift me as well. Rice cakes with peanut butter helped. Sipping water too. I gave up coffee for a few days as I realised this was filling me, preventing me from eating food and it also sat uncomfortably in my stomach.
Hope this helps

WelshRarebit18 · 03/04/2025 12:53

@Warmautumnbreeze I got some ginger nut biscuits to nibble on which helped. Also brewed some slices of ginger in hot water to make a ginger tea to settle my stomach. The nausea and burps can be awful but it does settle. Hope you feel better soon x

Warmautumnbreeze · 03/04/2025 14:24

Thank you both of you. I'll try the ginger biscuits and also rice cakes and pb sounds good. I'm meant to be going out on Saturday night, hope I feel better by then!

Ashabeth · 03/04/2025 15:29

Am on the last dose of 5mg pen. I injected on Sunday and already feeling the hunger and food noise returning, although I've had great suppression since the beginning to be honest so I can't complain.

I was going to stick with 5mg but I think given that it's starting to affect me less already I would regret that decision in a couple of weeks.

I'm hearing/ reading that a lot of people are sticking at 5mg. How are those that have moved up to 7.5mg finding it?

I've not had bad side effects at all so far but also don't want to push my luck x

ExplodingCarrots · 03/04/2025 16:01

It's been 24 hours since my first 7.5mg jab and I'm not feeling great at all. Feeling very sick . I'm hoping it'll ease off over the next couple of days .
