Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

Has anyone seen a badger? I’ve lost one!

Morning all
@FunnyCrabDance I like the phrase keeping the cake noise at bay. That is what it's doing for me and I love it!

Weigh Day today,
Start 13 stone 5
Week 8 11 stone 11
22lb lost
Height 5. 2.5,

5mg has been really good this past week although had totm and it was unbearably painful way worse than normal. Could be unrelated but I was in bed 2 nights early with a hot water bottle.

Woukd also love some podcast recommendations.. I've been listening to dish lately which is food related but not weight loss! I've enjoyed it.

Littlebitpsycho · 26/03/2025 09:46

FINALLY! Seems things are back to normal now for me. As some of you might remember I lost 1.5st in 3 weeks on 2.5mg and was worried I was losing too quickly.

Then I panicked because suddenly the scales said I'd gained 4lb and I spent the next 3 weeks battling to get them off again. Went up to 5mg in between all this.

Finally weighed this morning and down to 12st 1lb so another 4lb off. I go on holiday in 2.5 weeks and my biggest dream was to be in the 11s by the time I go, which now looks realistic 😅

I won't be going up to 7.5 though, I'll stick with 5mg - still about 1.5st left to lose. Happy Wednesday all ❤️

Foreverhope1 · 26/03/2025 10:07

@strongermummy, I found Zava to be really slow too, not as long as you had to wait but I’m thinking of switching as found their response times poor to questions

Zibb · 26/03/2025 10:10

Agree with the previous posters. Well done everyone on your scale and non scale victories! I love reading them and it's so impressive how well everyone is doing.

Weighed in at 99.4kg this morning, finally! And I'm wearing size 18 jeans that I wore in 2022. Yesterday I bought some lovely summery pyjamas from Sainsbury's in a size L thinking that I'll fit them in a couple of months... Well they fit perfectly!

So I need to focus on those positives because I have really been struggling. Constantly hungry, made a few poor food choices, and I've not been hitting my macro goals. So time to get back on track.

2022 was the last time I felt good and healthy.

94kg is my next goal as that's how much I weighed in April 2022 and I can finally see it's achievable. Felt impossible 6 weeks ago.

Looking at MFP, my lightest weight in the last 10 years was 84kg in August 2022. So if I can reach that by this August I will be so happy.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 26/03/2025 10:26

@Zibb oh yay you did it! Congrats on that milestone! Smashing it.

I forgot to add my NSVs to my monthly weigh in record:

Size 14 M&S jeans just fit again
I can bend over to put my socks on and do up my shoe laces
Had some photos taken at an event at work and my face looks much thinner
Skin is glowing
Rings come on and off without getting stuck

I am still (just) in the obese category, so I need too keep up the sense of urgency. I have got to this point previously and felt better and given up or got disheartened because the weight loss slowed. I need to get past this phase to get into the overweight category -- 89.2kg would do that for me. So up to 5mg on Friday.

MrsPepperpot79 · 26/03/2025 12:03

Weighed in this morning (start of wk6) and it said 83.3 kg. That's only 0.15 kilos from last week, but I'll take it. The scales shot back up into 84 territory, and first scales this morning was 84.2, but tried again (possibly 3 times!) and showed 83.3 consistently so going with it. And day 2 TOTM so feeling bloated anyway.
Still struggling on the macros - need a fundamental rethink of meals!

flipflop76 · 26/03/2025 12:19

I'm 4 weeks in and have lost 8lbs - those were in the first two weeks as I've stayed the same for the last two weeks. I took my first 5mg jab this morning - so far no side effects and still eating loads! Hoping I get more effect soon ...

Shefliesonherownwings · 26/03/2025 12:25

Hi all, just did my golden dose with a syringe which was really easy actually. Was a bit paranoid about making sure there was no air in the syringe but it was fine and I still got a full dose. I’ve lost 8.5 pounds in 4 weeks which I’m really happy with because I want this to be sustainable and I think for me 2lbs a week is sustainable. If I can lose 2.5lbs this week I’ll be down to 13 stone which I haven’t been at for a good couple of years.

aylis · 26/03/2025 12:50

Day 5 of 5mg and I've got absolutely no suppression, no feeling of being full, struggling to exert willpower. I'm absolutely ravenous. I was unwell yesterday and wondering if that can impact how effective the medication is.

That's how I've been the whole time on 5mg. It's not been good for me so far! I'm considering doing only 2.5 again next jab.

That's not good! I wonder why 2.5 would be more effective than 5

It has took me week 2 on dose 5mg to get any supression, fingers crossed you do soon x

mumalummum · 26/03/2025 16:22

Definitely time for me to move up after 2 months on 2.5mg - I’m going to step up to 3.75 mg as weight loss has stalled and the food noise is back

ExplodingCarrots · 26/03/2025 16:29

Weigh day for me

SW - 190lbs
CW - 170lbs

3.4lbs loss for me this week . 5mg has been working so well for me that I'm annoyed I was bit hasty ordering the 7.5mg . Think I'll be able to stick with the 7.5mg for a few months if I'm getting the same suppression as I have on 5mg . I'm also nearly edging out of the obese category.

OntheTrainX · 26/03/2025 17:41

I’m just out of obese too, at 29.5 bmi. I’m a bit concerned that the weight loss will stall and I’ll lose momentum. Or I’ll kid myself that I don’t really need to drop more, that 29ish bmi is ok.

But I really want to reduce to 26 bmi. For health reasons.

MynameisJune · 26/03/2025 17:45

NSV I’ve noticed, my hair is no longer falling out. Last year it was falling out so much at every wash I was getting bald spots. I changed lots of things and it slowed but didn’t stop. Now it’s stopped when I wash my hair I don’t get hand fulls of hair.

I’m currently with Zava but think i’m going to swap when I reorder as they messed up my last delivery and were so slow replying to messages that I had to keep the pen and will have to double dose my last dose or lose it as it was delivered not cold.

Backgroundnoises · 26/03/2025 18:24

Coming up to the end of week 8. Some observations.
First four weeks on 2.5... 16lbs weight loss, some minor, short-lived side effects...nausea, feeling cold and tired. Good suppression and size of meals cut in half naturally.

Weeks 5 to 8.. Went up to 5mg as portion sizes starting to creep up. Very noticeable side effects. Nausea much worse and constipation despite fibre rich diet and lots of water... Up to 6 days without a bowel movement. Went back on daily magnesium capsules as had come off them a few months ago because they caused diarrhea. Between that and the occasional bisocodyl, the constipation seems to be under control and the nausea is barely noticeable now.

My committment has been tested though as my weight has hardly shifted on 5mg.. Only a couple of pounds off over these last 4 weeks! My OH did point out though that, without Mounjaro, I'd probably be fighting cravings and starting to put the weight back on, so that did lift my spirits. And it is true, I am still just naturally not choosing highly processed, sugary foods. Tried a bit of Coop best lemon cake yesterday and it tasted vile to my palate. So I'm entering the 9 th week on 7.5 mg, hoping for more weight loss but thankful that I've seen other benefits even if weight loss has slowed down. The acid reflux ,caused by binge eating, which was the main reason I considered Mounjaro, has gone completely now, my clothes are now comfortable round the waist and probably best of all, that depressed feeling of always having to fight off food noise, has disappeared completely. If it wasn't for the cost, I'd stay on it indefinitely just to be free of that! I've budgeted to be able to afford another 6 months of treatment then I'll rethink my long term options.

MynameisJune · 26/03/2025 18:32

One thing I have noticed, last week I took 5mg and noticed I wasn’t as cold as I had been on 2.5mg.

Back to 2.5mg this week and I’m absolutely freezing again.

Catmum100 · 26/03/2025 18:58

Weigh day for me today, and the last 5mg dose from my pen.

SW: 13st 3lb
CW: 12st 2.8lb
TW: under 11st

2.5mg pen:
W1: 12st 10.8lb -6.2lb
W2: 12st 8.6lb -2.2lb
W3: 12st 6.4lb -2.2lb
W4: 12st 5.2lb -1.2lb
5mg pen:
W5: 12st 4.4lb -0.8lb
W6: 12st 3lb -1.4lb
W7: 12st 2.8lb -0.2lb

So very minimal loss of 0.2lb this week. Obviously I'm disappointed, frustrated and trying to remind myself it's a marathon not a sprint etc etc. I'm getting really good suppression, my calories are 500-800kcal below what I need, I get full easily and have no desire for sweet stuff or alcohol and I'm exercising again. So should have lost more, but also have had bad constipation, despite fibre and litres of water every day. The constipation is shifting with fibogel and softening pills at least. Fingers crossed for next week, I'm not giving up, which is unlike most other times I've tried to lose weight!

Great to hear everyone's successes and NSVs!

@Backgroundnoises Agree about the food noise. It is the most extraordinary relief to be without it. Feel a bit sad for myself that I had to live with it for so long.

aylis · 26/03/2025 19:20

The lack of food noise is the thing I really marvel at and can't get over (apart from today, it's been back). It's hit home just how much energy I was expending on it, every day, how much it was dominating so many areas of my life, how much it demanded of my thoughts. Something as simple as being able to get off the train and go straight home without thinking I need to 'pick something up for later' and feeling anxious if I didn't have something in - usually high calorie sugary rubbish. I also just realised I haven't had a fizzy drink since 22nd February.

WelshRarebit18 · 26/03/2025 19:49

Checking in - W8 D5. Currently on 5mg.

SW - 13st
CW - 11st 4lbs

Pleased with the weight loss so far and have decided to stick with 5mg for my next pen. I’m in the process of trying to order it through a different provider as they’re so much cheaper than MedExpress but they’re asking for proof of my starting weight from my original provider. I’ve emailed them so hopefully it will be sorted tomorrow.

I’m getting good appetite suppression on 5mg but still getting bouts of nausea and the dreaded burps, hence my reluctance to go up to the next dose. I just really want to break through the 11st barrier. I’ve done diets before and lost weight but it’s as if my body wants to sit at just above 11st. I then plateau and lose heart and the old habits creep in. So it’s really great to read all of your success stories as it’s such an encouragement to keep going. We can do it!!

Absolutely Lola 50! I've lived with it for 40 years. I can remember feeling so scared and helpless at times and not understanding why food had that effect on me. 'Relief' is exactly the right word! And 'sadness' too for so many wasted years.

Absolutely, aylis. I popped into Morrisons for a non food item the other day. My pre-Mounjaro habit would have been to trawl the aisles for 'treats' which I would binge eat later on at home. It was the weirdest experience walking down those aisles and slowly realising I had zero desire for anything on those shelves. Felt unreal!
