@MJalltheway I’ve not had any video calls, I get a text weekly. Maybe they picked up on my anti social vibe. I really should switch as I’m not using the coaching. Apparently if you say you’re leaving you get a one off 50% code.

Do oushk want all details again if you switch to them? Medical history, gp etc?

Had a tough morning today, with DS’ EHCP review, and for the first time in a long time felt like I needed something to comfort me. The following came to mind as I walked through the station to work: a cigarette, a glass of wine, a donut.
Knew I wouldn’t actually buy any of those things, but the longing for something to dull the pain was strong. I texted a friend instead, which helped.

I miss the comfort of food and wine. The fuzzy feeling of something delicious distracting you from the real worries. I guess a cup of tea and a small square of chocolate could have fulfilled that, harmlessly, but just didn’t have the appetite for it.

I’m so sorry to hear that @DGonMJ :( that sounds tough. I so empathise with missing the warm fuzz of comfort eating. Been in hospital all week with my son - swapped with dh last night so I could come home and would have loved a glass of wine and nibbles.

its up to you to book the video calls, you can book as often as you want. Or I think you can book them as phone calls if you'd prefer - it's in the coaching section of the app. You pick the coach you want then just book it in

I’m also sorry to hear about your son @Upperroom; sending love to you and your family 🥰

DGonMJ · 26/03/2025 06:04

Thanks @Upperroom hope your son is ok.

2025istheyeari · 26/03/2025 06:26

Sorry I’ve been away and just catching up. @Zempy that’s amazing news, you must be so pleased, well done!

@DGonMJ hope you’re ok, that sounds tough 😕, and @Upperroom so sorry to hear about your son, hope he’s ok and that you both are too.

I’m not quite sure how I’m feeling this morning! Did my 12th dose yesterday and have stayed the same this week. I was in Venice with a friend this weekend so ate out and ate pasta for the first time since starting. I was really careful, no creamy sauces, small portions and when we went out in the evening which was a 3 course meal barely ate anything ( I was just so full!). I had my first glass of wine this year too. I counted calories as best I could, walked my feet off ( over 12 miles each day) and reckon I went about 300 calories over on Sat but that was it. On the one hand I’m pleased, normally a weekend away would be an excuse to eat and drink without any filter! On the other I’ve been really good and exercised more but stayed the same and I’m a bit miffed!! I’m away for a long weekend this weekend too ( just the way it fell!) with my husband, we’ve not had a weekend abroad by ourselves for so long. Aah well, I didn’t put on and in this for the long haul! sorry, think I just had to write that down!!

Onwards and downwards!!

happy humpday everyone!

DGonMJ · 26/03/2025 06:40

Had a mid-week weigh in - I’ve hit 13kg / 2 stone loss today. This is more than I’ve ever lost on a diet/exercise plan.

Week 12 Day 4 - 2nd 5mg
SW 79.6kg
CW 66.6kg
GW 60-65kg

Feels strange to be close to goal. I don’t feel like I’ve properly gone down in dress size yet, but maybe I need to try on some smaller clothes and see if they fit.

DGonMJ · 26/03/2025 06:45

@2025istheyeari i love Venice! Went there a couple of years ago. So beautiful.
I read somewhere that flying can cause water retention, not sure if that’s just long haul travel - but maybe that’s why you’ve STS.

MananaMananaPenelope · 26/03/2025 06:46

Morning losers, well done everyone. Great stats @DGonMJ, you must be over the moon!!

Daily weigher, gained 0.2kg today, still down 0.8kg on this time last week. Still slightly ahead of losertown.

MananaMananaPenelope · 26/03/2025 06:52

@2025istheyeari I reckon it’s a blip, I bet you see a bigger loss next time you weigh.

Mind you I’d probably take STS as a win if I’d been away.

Venice is wonderful, we’re thinking of going there for Christmas this year. I lived in Northern Italy for a while and I’m really fond of it. In my next life I’ll have an apartment in Bologna and a flat in the Barbican.

Zempy · 26/03/2025 06:54

Sorry to those having a tough time of it. At least none of us is face down in a mountain of profiteroles eh?

I did my Wednesday weigh in and I have lost 2.5 pounds this week. I have been really busy at work so that probably helped.

SW: 13 st 7
CW: 11 st 4

I am feeling a lot more positive today. I’m sure it’s normal to go through ups and downs. We are changing our body chemistry but there are so many emotions tied up in weight.

I am having lunch out today and tomorrow (bad planning) but I won’t drink and feel confident I can make sensible choices.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

RockyisMYRhino · 26/03/2025 07:11

Think I’ll be lucky to STS this week. Have injured myself at the gym and am laid up with a really sore back. Have got heat patches and ibuprofen on the go but I couldn’t even stand to cook the DCs dinner last night let alone my own so had a takeaway for the first time this year. Managed just to eat the meat and some salad but still not great. No exercise for me for the rest of the week so will have to eat very carefully I think.

GrumpyMuleFan · 26/03/2025 08:32

@DGonMJ So sorry to hear about your tough day. Hope your son's review is ok. I often get those urges and still do. MJ has made me notice / realise just how much I use food and alcohol to buffer my emotions. I was a bit shocked, but really a great thing to notice as I now have the power to notice, sit with it and do something more positive instead. Not always, but far more often. I'm working on things that help me with stress - in the moment and the next day etc.

GrumpyMuleFan · 26/03/2025 08:37

@Zempy Fantastic numbers on your bloods - that is such great news. I couldn't stop thinking about them after I read your update.

Feeling very behind the thread as catching up time limited this week. Had a busy brain day yesterday, so especially proud that I did an evening walk, exercise and breathing exercise as normally I wouldn't have bothered unless I was committed to posting here. So thank you!!! I felt so much more energised and relaxed afterwards.

Accountability for Tuesday:

  • 25 min walk and lots of steps --> 9,369 ✅
  • 20 mins exercise done at 8:15 at night ✅
  • Followed by 10 mins somatic breathing meditation with feet up the wall! ✅
  • No wine, as planned ✅
Zempy · 26/03/2025 08:57

Thanks @GrumpyMuleFan Heres the first page of results for those who are interested/understand this kind of data.

Started Mounjaro on 7/1, so have lost 2st 3lbs in 11weeks, which I’m very happy with.
Am due to take dose 4 of 7.5mg this afternoon. Appetite suppression has been high on 7.5mg and have definitely struggled to eat enough, so am considering staying on the same dose for another 4 weeks.

Exercise wise, I do a lot of walking, aim to do 20k steps 4 times a week and try to drag myself to the gym at least twice a week to do 35 mins on the cross-trainer plus some weights to tone arms.

Haven’t told anyone I’m on Mounjaro, so I do struggle with going out for occasional meals with friends or family, as I can only manage to eat small amounts.

Despite losing over 2 stone so far, nobody has commented yet! But I can see and feel
it in myself, clothes feeling much looser etc, and double chin definitely receding.

cloudjumper · 26/03/2025 09:24

Hugs to all who are struggling! And well done to the losses!

I lost the grand total of 200g since last week 😩Bit frustrated, and can't really understand why - I've been tracking like a hawk, being under my target most days etc. I have, however, not been drinking enough water (really struggling with that at the moment, don't know why!), so it might be something to do with that. Reminding myself that it's still a loss, nearly a whole pack of butter!

I'm going out for dinner tonight with friends, wonder how that'll go (I think I will check the menu beforehand). Both are slim and have never struggled with being overweight, so not sure if I will share anything about me taking mj... But they are very good friends (and scientists), so would not be judgmental if I did.

Jins · 26/03/2025 09:24

Quick catch up from me. Sympathy to those having a tough time.

Slight gain today. Still down from last week but I’m at a set point that has endured for years. In fact the only way I managed to see a different number on the scales was to gain weight. If I’d managed to get here without MJ I would probably settle for it. Slightly overweight, too much sub-cut fat but overall metrics are ok and GP wouldn’t be unhappy.

However I know I can do better than this. 9st something before I go on holiday is my goal.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 26/03/2025 09:25

Not sure this link will work - and probably not if you don’t have instagram, but it’s quite interesting for those of us where the scales, mystifyingly, show a gain:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DG0sqY8oM9-/?igsh=cmI4amdoOTFyMmFu

And on that note…
W10 D3, total loss - 4lbs ☹️
but due to weigh tomorrow and really hoping to finally have a decent loss - the 2lbs I inexplicably put on last week, plus some extra. I’d set the goal of losing 1/2 stone a month which is nowhere near my current rate.

Week 13 day 1- 1.2lbs lost this week but I do feel quite constipated so maybe I'll have a woosh when that clears!
SW 223.6
CW 194.2
GW 140
Still on 5mg, 3rd dose but I have another 5mg pen as well, think that dose is working OK at the moment. Still not doing any exercise, maybe when I hit the three stone mark!

JoanCollinsDiva · 26/03/2025 10:28

I’ve weighed this morning (usually weigh on Friday) as I go to Morocco tomorrow for 5 days and I’ve STS. To be expected after my shock 5lb loss last week! I decided to just jab 20 clicks from my 7.5mg pen this week as suppression has been high and I’m worried about having any tummy trouble in Morocco - it seems to be one of those places where most people get the 💩‘s.
I’d also like to be able to eat and drink some nice things!

I don’t want to take the pen with me so Im planning on jabbing a couple of days late when I come home but il see how I feel then before deciding what dose to give myself.

I really need to change to Oushk for maintenance before juniper charge me for my next pen, I have no idea whether juniper even have a maintenance plan.

Hope everything turns out ok with your ds’s Upperroomand DGonMJ 🙏

Theresalotgoingon · 26/03/2025 14:55

Hello can I join? I have been lurking so far...
Started on 17th Jan and have gone up the pen sizes in order and not done any bonus doses (scared of getting it wrong!). Currently on Week 10 D5 and lost just over 2stone which I'm delighted with.

I am currently on 7.5mg and found suppression very strong in first week but less so this week (2nd week of taking it). I have ordered some syringes from Amazon and will try bonus dose for first time in a few weeks before moving up to 10mg.

SW: 13st 13lb
CW: 11st 10lb
GW: 10st

I have made a spreadsheet where I log my weight every day and have projected if I continue with this trend I should be at GW around end of May which is amazing.

Funnily enough @Fountofwisdom I am the same - despite 2st weight loss, no-one has commented! I wonder if it's because it's been so quick people haven't had chance to register? If that makes sense? Also I've not really dropped a dress size - I think I was in denial about being a size 14-16 and now things just fit properly rather than me squeezing into everything!

UnderandOverwhelmed · 26/03/2025 15:11

Welcome @theresalotgoingon
i also still dont seem to have dropped a dress size yet, despite losing over two stone. I just tried on a size 14 dress ive bought from vinted and whilst it fits it shows my horrible rolly tummy, so i dont think ill be wearing it for a while!
what are peopledoing about bras? I think i need a different size as i look all droppy in my current ones, but i dont really want to spend a lot when I'm hoping to keep losing weight. I normally buy from bravissimo and they aren't the cheapest!
