You have done so well. We started at the same weight but I’m still in the upper end of the 10st range! You must feel fantastic.

Think we’re the same @discov
@Upperroom you’re doing amazingly well.

JoanCollinsDiva · 21/03/2025 11:16

Well done all the losers! HeavyHeidi Congrats on getting to a healthy bmi - me too as of today 🥳 I've gone from 28.6 to 24.5.
Jins, Upperroom Well done! So pleased for everyone.

Just weighed in this morning and have lost 5lbs 😳 a bit shocked by that this far in. And I know it's probably not healthy - i really am trying to eat my target calories but failing most days. I started on 17th jan so this is my 9th week I think.

SW: 13.6
CW: 11.7
GW: 11 stone (i think I'll probably try to go a bit lower though)

Im thrilled tbh! Being in the overweight category was really bothering me so this is a fantastic psychological bonus for me. Going to go and have some lunch with dh as a reward to myself - probably just some nice soup though as I don't feel the need to reward myself with cake any more - yay!

discov · 21/03/2025 11:27

Upperroom · 21/03/2025 10:41

Are you on the 7.5 dose yet? 5mg was not great for me. I do feel fantastic but also in slight disbelief…!
the only thing I do worry about is - I’m looking forward to enjoying food and a glass of wine normally again…
like as a treat or special occasion. I don’t have any dopamine hit associated with food. So I do wonder if I’ll need to perhaps have a maintenance dose…
I’m still not interested in carbs - I eat a lot of protein.
ps it’s not like I look like gods gift at 10st btw! Still have a tummy… I’m an inverted triangle shape

I think I’m a week or so behind you, so got 7.5 in the fridge ready for next week. I’ve had a couple of stints of the scales not moving for almost 2 weeks at a time so haven’t consistently lost every week but it’s all added up nicely as I’m almost at 20lbs down. So could be worse…

I think we eat a very similar diet from what I’ve seen you post before. I loosely follow Fast800 low carb ‘Mediterranean’ style meals, which is all I’ve fancied on MJ anyway. I have a massive sweet tooth normally and that’s my downfall, so I think I’ll need a maintenance dose too!!

Edited

Ah yes I think we started pretty much the same time too as I am week 9 also. I did the bonus dose on my 2.5 pen so not going up to 7.5 quite yet. I’m now 10st 10 so we are at a very similar loss too!!

Zempy · 21/03/2025 11:58

Well done @JoanCollinsDiva !!

Our starting and current weights are the same, but at five feet four I am sadly about another stone away from a healthy BMI. I’m getting there though and that’s what matters.

We will all be unrecognisable by the summer!!!

HeavyHeidi · 21/03/2025 12:02

@JoanCollinsDiva wow super well done!

RosaBaby2 · 21/03/2025 12:45

Jab 12 moved up to 7.5 (using a 5mg pen so full dose and then new needle and 30 clicks)

Lost 5lb this week after 3 days of a sad tummy mainly due to Nutella abuse.

Starting weight was 18st9
Current weight 16st5
Lost 37lb

BaggyClothes · 21/03/2025 13:17

SW 12 stone (on 01/01/2025)
CW 9 stone 10
GW 8 stone 10

MJalltheway · 21/03/2025 07:24

Amazing @HeavyHeidi ! Congratulations! How close are you to goal now?

Weigh in day today, I've still got absolutely miles to go. Lost another 0.7kg, so absolutely average for me. happy with that.

SW 101 kg (15st 13!!!)
CW 92.6 kg (14st 8)
GW 70 kg (11st)

I've felt a bit disheartened this week too, only because I still have such a way to go and like a lot of us, I'm still feeling absolutely massive. Happy Scale has me reaching goal at the end of August.
I had a 50+ well woman blood test at the start of the year which showed I had high cholesterol, tending towards fatty liver and some kind of kidney problems too, so that's my motivator.
off to aquarobics again later and I've signed up to do a clubbercise class next week (80s/90s music, dark room, disco lights and glow sticks! Can't wait!)

@MJalltheway we have almost identical starting weights - I'm not even in the overweight BMI bracket yet, and am projected to reach my GW (70 kg, too) at the end of August (but that's just what Excel tells me, not any app or anything sophisticated). I'm so impatient - when I first started, I was projected to reach my GW in July, but the trajectory has levelled out. So I'm trying to just look at it week by week and to remind myself that I have lost 11% of my original body weight so far, gone down almost 4 BMI 'points' and (to use the analogy introduced further up) lost the equivalent of 43 packs of butter! Perspective is so important.

Jins · 21/03/2025 14:05

Upperroom · 21/03/2025 09:37

Our goal weights are the same! What height are you just out of interest?

I’m 5’3”.

2025istheyeari · 21/03/2025 14:43

Some brilliant losses today, well done everyone!!

HeavyHeidi · 21/03/2025 14:56

I have a 4 day work trip coming up next week with lunches and common dinners. Wish me strength..

Jins · 21/03/2025 15:13

Dilemma. I’m due to jab any minute and can’t decide whether to do another 6.25 or just go all out and do 7.5

I might have to toss a coin

JoanCollinsDiva · 21/03/2025 15:39

Same here Jins
Don't know whether to count clicks to 5 or just go up. A lot of people seem to be really enjoying 7.5. But also I'm away next week Thursday-Monday going to somewhere hot and don't want an upset tummy or anything. Uhm...decisions, decisions. I may just play it safe this week.

I just shared half a club sandwich with dh and then had a few mouthfuls of chocolate cake and had to run to the toilet afterwards 😬 it must be the fat or the sugar.

cloudjumper · 21/03/2025 16:00

@JoanCollinsDiva I had a slice of cake yesterday, too, and felt really yuck afterwards. I am definitely struggling with high-fat content foods, every time I eat them, I feel ill. So I'm now giving them a wide berth. Me, not eating cheese as if my life depended on it. Mind. Blown. 😂

HeavyHeidi · 21/03/2025 16:02

I am really starting to thing in my case, MJ does not agree with wheat. Haven't really had stomach problems, but have also gone off all bread. The only day I had a nasty stomach ache was after eating a what tortilla wrap.

It's a long-haul that's for sure, but then it didn't take 2 or 3 months for me to gain all this weight either. The longer it takes, I guess the more likely the good eating habits are to be ingrained.
How tall are you, out of interest? I'm 5'10" so have just squeaked into the overweight BMI, I think mine's 29.5 at the moment or somewhere around that.

Jins · 21/03/2025 16:04

@JoanCollinsDiva I used an online decision maker. I did best of 3

I’ve done 6.25

I'm about 5' 5" I think - 1.70m. I'm at the lower end of the obese BMI (31.1), but still a little bit to go.

Jins · 21/03/2025 16:07

@HeavyHeidi I suppose that in the same way that many of us have hypermobility it’s always possible that many of us may have wheat/gluten intolerance.

I’m coeliac so I definitely do!

Zempy · 21/03/2025 16:14

I’m out for dinner tomorrow and can’t decide whether to just have a garlic mushroom starter as a main (too creamy?) or a tomato based pasta dish (no chance of eating more than a third of it.

Has anyone had problems with either of these? I have played it really safe so far and am getting bored now…

Salmon and salad tonight 🥱

mince3point14159265 · 21/03/2025 16:21

Similar start weight to @cloudjumper & @MJalltheway ; unfortunately I am only 5'4" (and possibly shrinking further) so a verrrry long way to go to 'just' being overweight! 😭 Not sure if that was just a typo Cloudjumper, but 5'5" is 1.65m and 1.7m would be 5'7", might be crucial to your bmi!

Yesterday I was lugging the vacuum cleaner up down the stairs and moaning at its weight which got me thinking how much does it actually weigh. Turns out almost 18lbs. I've lost almost the equivalent of 2 vacuum cleaners, no wonder I was so bloody knackered walking up and down stairs all the time! 🥵 😂

Ho hum, 3 more vacuum cleaners to go...🤣

MananaMananaPenelope · 21/03/2025 16:28

I don't eat a lot of dairy because one of my DC can't eat it so I would find the mushroom starter a bit rich. Can you ask for a small plate of pasta? I think I would do that @Zempy . Are you vegetarian? I can't remember. My favourite local Italian does lots of fish, I usually have a seabass dish with spinach and rosemary potatoes desperately trying not to eat the latter.

I was only saying earlier that I am bored of the food I am eating atm. My go to after work is something quick like a salmon fillet with salad or vegetables.

I'm making a good food recipe later - cod puttanesca with spinach & spaghetti which I've enjoyed before, but it isn't what I am craving. I've been thinking about what I would eat if I could be bothered to make it, something like beef in red wine with green beans and creamy (oatily cream here) mashed potatoes. That's only if I cba, which I can't after this week.

Zempy · 21/03/2025 16:29

@MananaMananaPenelope thanks.

God I could just INHALE some lovely garlicky rosemary potatoes.

MananaMananaPenelope · 21/03/2025 16:37

I know @Zempy , it is really boring being so good.
