I've just reordered from oushk and their option to pay extra (outrageous in the first place) for discreet packaging has disappeared. I've gone ahead anyway as I can't face all the faff of changing provider this week but hoping it's because they've rethought the branded packaging and it's all back in unbranded. Otherwise I'll be looking to move and find somewhere that doesn't want to announce my medication to the world!

SqueakyDinosaur · 17/03/2025 08:20

Yes, definitely sounds like it's the scales' fault, @InfoSecInTheCity!

I'm working away from home at the moment which always makes things a bit trickier, but I caught sight of myself in a window reflection yesterday and didn't hate what I saw, which was very odd.

Also, I think each of us has to find our digestive Holy Grail - for some it's pomegranates and kiwis, but I can confidently announce that mine is ground flaxseed. Blimey! 💩

1lb gain this week, not sure if that’s a genuine gain or because my blinking scales needed a new battery necessitating moving them. I am now determined to buy new scales though, these ones have offended me, and before anyone thinks it I am not just using this as a flimsy excuse to buy myself a new gadget, no no no, these ones are clearly suffering some kind of major fault and should be removed from use urgently.

Sounds like it would be irresponsible not to!

They have a new discount code this morning for St Patrick day (£18 off) so I asked them and they have replied that they have changed all packaging back to discreet.

RobinEllacotStrike · 17/03/2025 10:33

The Family Chemist deliver in plain packaging - even the return address doesn't have their name on it.

Timetofindme · 17/03/2025 10:34

@WeAllHaveWings that's good news! Bit relieved by that! Yep I used that discount code too

NewbieMJ · 17/03/2025 11:45

@InfoSecInTheCity Those scales are the work of the devil and need the bin, posthaste😂

InfoSecInTheCity · 17/03/2025 12:06

The scales have been removed from sight so as not to offend my delicate sensibilities. Unfortunately the space they left felt vast and empty so has had to be filled with a new set of withings scales which comes with a snazzy app that connects to stuff and does things I’ll have to play with. It was an awful series of events 😂

I have recommitted to actually doing the exercise I think about and plan to do. So this morning I went swimming, managed 32 lengths of the 25m pool which wasn’t bad considering I’ve been slacking and adhocking it since Xmas. I only have 30 mins in the pool in the morning if I want to be at work on time so need to speed up a bit to get my 1km done.

alltablenochairs · 17/03/2025 15:29

Fresh tamarind is my equivalent of 2 kiwis a day. Although they look....... unappetising at best they definitely do the trick.

Simple Online Pharmacy deliver in plain packaging. To the extent that DH who took a parcel in for me because I was out wanted to know why I'd asked him to put a parcel of clothes in the fridge.

Hello everyone!

I have been reading these wonderful threads for ages and thought it about time I said hello. I am also a member of the August starters gang too. Reading all of your posts and seeing some of the longer time users incredible losses has been inspiring, informative and fun!

A bit about me...I started on MJ on 14th August 2024 weighing in at 20st 3lbs.
Today after 31 weeks I have finally hit my 4st 0.6lbs loss, which is also 20% of my bodyweight.
I am an MJ lightweight, after suffering with very bad, what I can only describe as complete flatness of mood on 5mg, I dropped back to 4mg and I have been very slowly working my way back up. I am now on the heady heights of 4.5mg!

So here I am at 16st 2.4lbs with about another 4-5 stone to go to get within a healthy bmi. Its nice to be amongst peeps who had/have a lot to lose, I suspect I will be here for quite some time...

InfoSecInTheCity · 17/03/2025 16:40

Hi @MabelSpanand well done on losing so much so far. Think we’ll all be around for a while so feel free to get stuck in to the sometime slightly random conversations and ask anything. There is no topic off limits or too indelicate. It’s a sad fact that large amounts of weight loss mean we often have questions about such delightful topics as vomiting, constipation, creaking joints, extra skin and body parts that are suddenly heading south 😆All things you don’t necessarily want to raise in the PTA coffee morning or over a pint with the couple next door.

dimples76 · 17/03/2025 16:43

Welcome @MabelSpan you're doing great.

It seems like most of you have the opposite digestive problems to me. I need to slow things down as running to the toilet with liquid diarrhoea isn't part of my fitness plan! I think people have mentioned avoiding fatty and spicy foods but is there anything else you think that I should cut out. I switched to decaffeinated drinks at the start of the year and slso used to drink too much Pepsi Max (but that tastes disgusting to me since starting mj). Not drinking any alcohol. Maybe, I just have to accept that for 24 hours a week I need to ensure that I am close to a bathroom and plan my jabs accordingly.

InfoSecInTheCity · 17/03/2025 17:06

@dimples76make sure you are getting enough fibre. It works for both problems, adds substance and encourages movement. You may also think about if there’s anything you might be intolerant to like dairy that you have potentially made a more prominent part of your diet since starting MJ

BakingNana · 17/03/2025 17:53

Went shopping in Primark today, everything I bought was a size 10 or small, although I don’t feel small. I am sure that sizing has changed in the last 50+ years, although I am lighter than I was as a teenager. 6st 5lbs down since June 24, now 10st 0.4lbs. Just want to be under 10 stone

TomSellecksMoustache · 17/03/2025 18:06

Hello everyone! Please can I join you? I was approved today and am able to collect my first pen from the pharmacy tomorrow. Eek!

I’m excited to get started. I’ve been researching the best foods to eat since I got home from work and I have a shopping list ready.

Although I can pick my pen up from tomorrow, I’m going to start at the weekend when I’m at home so can deal with any side effects better than I would at work.

SW 16 12
GW Let’s see what happens!

Jfw82 · 17/03/2025 18:35

Well I bought the Renpho travel scales I’ve seen recommended a few times on sorted threads - thinking I might take them on my Easter holiday (if husband doesn’t take that as a sign I’m too obsessed with my daily weigh in!) Still have my trusty Fitbit scales with my weigh ins logged over last ten years but quite enjoyed the new ones for all the extra stats but also for showing me at 1.5lbs lighter than my usual set (did a comparison one set to the other in their assigned floor positions 😂) I’m sticking with the higher weight but even with that I’m 4lbs off 6 stone down and safely in the 10s now!

MaybeMrs · 17/03/2025 21:21

Hi ladies. Haven’t posted in a while. I went on holiday last week and was amazed that I only put 1lb on! I drank a lot 😃and ate what I wanted (although small portions). One week back at home and I’m 7LBS down! Seeing a 15 on the scales was brilliant! Given me a boost. Really starting to feel it in my clothes now and I’ve had to buy all new knickers 😂

SW 18st 9.6lbs 14.12.24
CW 15st 12.2lbs
loss of 39.2lbs
GW 12st 12lbs?

Im currently 100.8kgs so cannot wait to get under 100!

I have these scales and they are brilliant

I put a comment on one of their "ambassadors" posts on TikTok complaining about the packaging a while back. Had a private message from her recently saying they had taken the decision to move to plain packaging, I think she said plain black, after feedback from customers

Thisshirtisonfire · 17/03/2025 21:52

Middle of my second week of 2.5. I had no bed side effects apart from a spell of spaceyness with the second jab! Hooray! However I'm getting some food noise back tonight which is sad as I had hoped to stay on 2.5 as long as possible. Feels like I may need to move up to 5ml next order though. I haven't ordered yet but am going to need to in the next few days I think..
Did anyone's suppression on a dose come and go? Or is this definitely a sign I need to move up a dose?
I'm still managing to track calories and eat in a deficit but today was hard to stay under, whereas previously every day has been a struggle to eat enough!
I've lost 10lbs so far.
Which is great but I have so so much left to lose to get to a healthy weight.

RobinEllacotStrike · 17/03/2025 21:55

I’d go up next one @Thisshirtisonfire
Toy are having a fantastic start!

Toy?
You!

@Thisshirtisonfire i agree with Robin, go up.

2.5mg really doesnt work for all for long. But by comparison, i have been on 7.5-8mg for 5 months and still getting decent effects. Your ideal dose will come!

Hello! I started at exactly the same weight as you - 20 stone 3lbs - but only in mid-Jan, so I've still got a looooong way to go..! But am 22lbs down so far and feeling so much better about myself. Can't wait to get through the next few months and really see and feel a difference 😊

MooBaggage · 17/03/2025 22:07

I'm just back from my holiday and have injected my week 10 jab - the 6th week of 5mg as it seems to be working well.

Not going to weigh until next week - I didn't go OTT on holiday (stomach bug didn't help!), but I couldn't eat/drink my usual stuff, so I want a few days to get back in the swing of things before I venture on to the scales... 🙄

Did you get any side effects on 5ml? I'm a bit afraid as I had horrible side effects with my first 2.5 jab. Nothing with the second.. but I heard awful stories about the 5ml being particularly bad for side effects. I had been hoping to stay in 2.5... but I want this to work so will move up if necessary!
