I think I need to stop weighing myself but the temptation is strong!

Totally with you there! I bloody hate weighing myself and hadn't owned scales for many years until I had to get some to get the MJ prescription. Now I really have to make myself wait to weigh, because it has such a detrimental effect on my outlook if the scales haven't gone in the right direction - too many years of SW/WW stupid weigh ins 🙄😔

I weighed today, which was a random one and my next target date is April 9th, so am going to not weigh until then. I've made a chart of dates important to me/essential for ordering and try to just weigh on those dates - somewhere between every 2 - 4 weeks. Maybe you could do something similar? Having a chart makes it feel official, so easier to stick to just those dates.

alwaysscared · 01/04/2025 11:31

@MooBaggage good idea

alltablenochairs · 01/04/2025 11:46

So this happened today. I have lost an entire sack of potatoes.

It doesn't seem real somehow- how on this earth was I carrying all that around???? More to the point how on this earth did the wheels not fall off my chair? I can definitely notice it now. My trousers are much looser. My chair needs adjusting again. The shoes I am wearing today were a really tight fit last year.
Only another 4kg to go until I am the lowest weight I have been for 12 years (I.e. the weight I was at the booking in appointment with my second). How long will this take? Who knows? MJ isn't a quick fix for me and with a BMI of 36.5 I've still got a long way to go.

That is just brilliant!! What a great visual! 😍

Can someone re-post the list of how much things weigh again - I really liked it but can't remember who posted it?!

I've nearly lost the suitcase I took away to Lanzarote the other week - a couple more kg and I'll be there and I keep having the same thought - how was I lugging that around on myself all the time - and I've still got 2 more suitcases to go....😯 My poor body - am glad I'm being much kinder to it now.

WeAllHaveWings · 01/04/2025 12:44

When I asked google at my last weigh in it told me I had lost an Auckland Island pig 🫢

Although carrying the extra 91lbs was probably not quite as wriggly as the pig would be! 🤣

Hi hope you do not mind me joining in in week 1 of mounjaro with 30kg plus to lose!

alwaysscared · 01/04/2025 13:28

I’ve lost the amount of fats and oil an average American eats in a year!!

SilenceInside · 01/04/2025 13:29

@Puddingpiper the more the merrier, hello 👋

taylorswift1989 · 01/04/2025 13:42

Hello, can I join? On week 2 of MJ and have between six and eight stone to lose. Would love some company!

akaFrosty · 01/04/2025 13:47

Another newbie 👋
I didn't know this thread existed! I'm on WK2 with at least 5 stones to lose.

AnneinEdinburgh · 01/04/2025 14:28

@alwaysscared I am in the same boat, going up and down the same 3lbs and have been for the last 6 weeks. Realistically I have lost 3 stone and more will eventually follow. I know overall I haven't been bad, I am eating less and better, I am exercising more. I am just going to have to trust to the MJ gods that weight loss kicks off again when it is ready. I am on 10mg and have another pen of this to use and then up to 12.5 so maybe that will help me.

Hang in there!

WeAllHaveWings · 01/04/2025 14:38

Eek, according to @InfoSecInTheCity 's list as well as my already lost Auckland Island pig 🐗 I still have a slightly above average human leg 🦵to still lose before I have lost a baby giraffe 🦒 and hit a normal BMI!

Lots of work 💪 still to be done!

alwaysscared · 01/04/2025 14:44

@AnneinEdinburgh It’s so frustrating isn’t it?? Fingers crossed we are both losers again soon!!

Carolwithane · 01/04/2025 16:30

I've lost a car tire 😂

I'm quite a slow loser, 20lbs has taken since 14th January and only lost a lb a week for last two weeks after moving up to 3.75mg

But it's consistent loses with minimal side effects so I keep on keeping on. Still a looooong way to go! 🤦‍♀️

14th January was only 11 weeks ago, you’re averaging 1.8lbs a week, that’s really really not slow, the advice is to aim for 1-2 lbs a week so you’re perfect, right at the top of the goal.

Carolwithane · 01/04/2025 17:46

Aw thank you 😊 @InfoSecInTheCity

I'm no moaning (much) 😂

I think I actually prefer to say two human heads and an ostrich egg!

Jfw82 · 01/04/2025 18:53

The weighing this is interesting as I find it better to weigh daily so a blip on my weekly ‘log’ day doesn’t throw me off. Now this does mean when I go away for two weeks this weekend I’m now stressed at not knowing how I’m doing for that time. That said I need to remember I’m 2lbs off 6 stone down (unfortunately won’t make it to that before I go but 9 months ago I didn’t even dream id get this far!) We all need to do what works for us and remember how long the journey is 😊

Greeting from Auckland NZ - (not Auckland island though am going to an island today. No pigs though.)

I feel like I’ve been in this place for half my time on MJ. WL has slowed down from about 25kg, and I’m gaining/losing the same 2 kilos for weeks. But still I am reducing in size. Now about 30kg down, 20 to go.

it’s a bit strange but I take a “what will be will be” attitude as I want to disengage from as much “diet” mentality as I can.

golden 🥝 same price as green 🥝 here.
I’ve not yet found a pomegranate.

the plane journey to nz, though ridiculously long (38 hours door to door) was fantastic. Not only did I have loads of room in the seat, I was mostly very comfortable. Certainly more comfortable than I have been in these journeys before. I suspect that is the WL & daily yoga combo. I’m 5’8” & my daughters aren’t far off that now. But the cheap seats on the plane were fine. I’ve gone from squeezing in & being at the end of the seatbelt, to loads and loads of room at end of the seatbelt.

hello & welcome to this lovely thread new joiners!

taylorswift1989 · 01/04/2025 18:56

I don't have scales at home but I weigh myself every few weeks at boots. As long as I'm going in the right direction I won't stress too much about it. I find that if I monitor my weight too much I can become a bit obsessive and disordered.

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 01/04/2025 19:09

@alwaysscared It might be worth taking your measurements....you may not have lost weight but may have lost inches :)

If it helps, just checked my record and I average 1.8lb loss a week too. I’m 60lbs down since last September size 22 -> 14, BMI 33 -> 24 in 6 months.

alltablenochairs · 01/04/2025 20:36

Having checked through my records it would seem I am losing around 1kg (I.e. 2.2lbs) a week although some weeks don't really feel like that. I don't have an end goal yet and don't want one either but just going by BMI alone if I continue on the same trajectory then I should be in the healthy range by Christmas this year. Not sure if it works like that IRL though but if it did it would be a very merry Christmas to me!

Absolutely hello and welcome to anyone new joining the thread. Of course you're all welcome here!

Problem is, I didn’t take my measurements before I started 🙄
I have been on the peloton today and noticed that my thighs look thinner! So there’s a win!

MooBaggage · 01/04/2025 22:11

Welcome to all the newbies! Feels weird I'm not the newbie any more 😀

This group is lovely and has helped me get through the first 3 months - so settle in and ask anything - I think the thing that has helped me is the thinking that this really does work (for the vast majority of people) and the focus can be on protein, fibre, veg and water without all the mind fucks of food noise, etc.

The hard thing for me is trying to get over the psychological hurdles of previous 'diets' failing over and over again. But this isn't a diet - this is self-care and treatment for a disease, which is and will make me better - I just have to keep caring for myself and be patient!

Anyway, will shut up! 🙄😁
