Let's do a mounjaro Lent challenge!

NoisyMintCrab · 04/03/2025 17:07

Would anyone like to join me in a mounjaro related challenge for Lent?

I'm giving up chocolate, crisps and sweets to try and break my taste for them (shouldn't be eating them on mj anyway!)

Please come join me on this thread if you'd like to set yourself a challenge too, maybe

  • doing 25 squats a day
  • Eating 100g protein a day
  • Getting 7000 steps a day
  • Giving up dairy
  • Limiting social media
  • Daily meditation
  • Etc :)

Oh I'd like to give up chocolate and sweets. Currently feel like it might be achievable for once 🤣

ChristmasLightsLover · 04/03/2025 21:36

I want to walk a mile a day, every single day. And not eat chocolate.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/03/2025 12:45

I would like to "Walk" everyday....i work a stressful job and in the office with a 2 hour commute each way 2 days a week work from home the rest (but its well paid and I enjoy my job) it does however hit my willpower to exercise and I got a treadmill at christmas for walking and its not moved an inch 😂
so I plan to walk every day of lent

Edensnapz · 05/03/2025 15:02

I will join. I'm going to give up chocolate, crisps (that'll be the hardest), and sweets. I'm only on my first week, but feeling optimistic!

I also like the idea of including some exercise goals. I will try and do the squats. I need to get myself a step counter/fitness tracker, never had one, apart from an app on my phone, but I think a wearable tracker will motivate me to do more. Can anyone recommend any good, reasonably priced ones?

How have you got on today? I've resisted but have eaten several other things to try to silence the food noise!

Have you got your mile in yet today? I've walked the dog but that's it so far!

@NoisyMintCrab I have walked. But entirely forgot that I am not eating chocolate and just has some brownie! Not the best start. But am mindful of it again now!!

Well done on the walk @NoisyMintCrab :))

NoisyMintCrab · 05/03/2025 15:59

50% there! That's ok for day one:)

@NoisyMintCrab so confession I've eaten a nut health bar and it had a chocolate drizzle thing on top. In my mind this is not a chocolate bar, however I'm feeling cross. In my head, I meant Cadbury and all those bars and sharing bags, so think I'm going to forgive myself.
I'm a total chocoholic with the sweetest tooth ever, but all that craving has gone since I started MJ.
I walked the block in my lunch break too.

Squeakpopcorn · 05/03/2025 16:08

I’m giving up foods with added sugar. Gwice today I’ve put a biscuit in my mouth, remembered and had to spit it into the bin.

I’m currently on a decluttering binge. I have collected 8 bin bags of stuff for the tip and another 8 for charity.

Nice work.
Yeah, to me chocolate means dairy milk multipacks :D so I'd take that as a win for today.

I love a good declutter ❤️

How long have you been on MJ. What was your starting weight? How much have you lost?

I don't think that's relevant to this thread. Are you joining in with the challenge, mounjaro bot?

OP posts:
Totototo · 05/03/2025 16:38

It is relevant to me. That is why I asked! Isn’t MJ about Weightloss?

NoisyMintCrab · 05/03/2025 16:49

There are lots of posts about starting weight etc. This one is about habits, and as we're are only on day 1 of those habits, it doesn't make sense to ask that question.

This might be a better post to ask your question on:

Honesty Is the best policy! Face the fact you are taking MJ to lose weight why are you being cagey about your statistics?

NoisyMintCrab · 05/03/2025 17:05

There's no need to be rude.

If people are just starting mounjaro, there won't be any weight loss statistics to share.

Also, a person's weight is private and i hope nobody on this thread feels obliged to share.

i have given up cans of diet pepsi.. well, any kind of cans and ifzzy drinks to be honest.

i have swapped from wegovy to mounjaro, but i wont take my first jab until the end of March when i get back off my holidays.

There is always a starting weight. BTW Mumsnet is anonymous so privacy is a non issue!

NoisyMintCrab · 05/03/2025 17:23

Why not start your own thread? If you title it something like 'tell me your start weight and current weight on mj' you'll probably get all the info you're searching for.

OP posts:
Totototo · 05/03/2025 17:36

Why not be more transparent yourself when asked a perfectly reasonable question on a thread about WLI’s like MJ?

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/03/2025 18:18

@Totototo please don't be so goading with your responses...if you don't get the answer to what you keep asking understand that you won't and walk away.

ShortFatAndCluttered · 05/03/2025 19:24

Can I join in? I like the idea of the challenge even though I’m not on mj just yet. If that’s not okay, let me know.
