Would anyone like to join me in a mounjaro related challenge for Lent?

I'm giving up chocolate, crisps and sweets to try and break my taste for them (shouldn't be eating them on mj anyway!)

Please come join me on this thread if you'd like to set yourself a challenge too, maybe

  • doing 25 squats a day
  • Eating 100g protein a day
  • Getting 7000 steps a day
  • Giving up dairy
  • Limiting social media
  • Daily meditation
  • Etc :)

@Username0826485858585 I am
so hit and miss with water. I’ve found warm water better and I did read a tip that if you’re a tea or coffee drinker then having a glass of water while the kettle boils is a good idea. I haven’t tried it.

@ShortFatAndCluttered being outside is so good for people. I’ve got rid of 25 bin bags stuff in the last 2 weeks it feels great but not enough!

@Marylou2 the more the merrier.

I’m 4 days into no sugar except for some vile cough medicine which I’m not counting.

Me too much prefer slightly room temperature water it goes down quicker I find.
People find this a bit minging but I will fill my water bottle before I leave work the night before and drink it first thing at my desk next morning so by the time I can't resist a coffee anymore I've drank my first 20oz.

So far managed 7000 steps every day 👍

ChristmasLightsLover · 10/03/2025 23:15

Well done @GutsyFinch !!!

I did 1.45 miles at a 19.10 mile pace today. I'm post chest infection so am pleased to be under 20 minutes. Just need to sustain pace and slowly extend the time.

AND I have not had any chocolate since say two of this challenge when I forgot about it! That's the longest I can remember going without eating chocolate. Am well chuffed.

ChristmasLightsLover · 10/03/2025 23:16

But I have failed with water. And have an unhappy bum as a result of it. Back on that tomorrow...

How is everyone else doing?
Water?
Steps?
Moisturiser?

ChristmasLightsLover · 11/03/2025 22:56

@NoisyMintCrab @Edensnapz how are you doing? I remember you from the start of the thread...

I did .96 of a mile today. If I had known I was so close I would have circled the drive to get to a mile. And then found a nearly finished tin of heroes and had some chocolate. Grrrr.

Back to it tomorrow.

Keep drinking water!!!

ChristmasLightsLover · 11/03/2025 22:56

P.S. please don't let me be a thread slayer. Always my big fear when joining this kind of thing!!!

I've had mixed results. Doing well with water and walking, but good days and bad days with snacking. Once it gets a hold it's really hard to reset!

Didn’t manage 7000 yesterday but have done today - well done all on your challenges - keep walking, drinking and being positive 👍

ChristmasLightsLover · 14/03/2025 09:28

@GutsyFinch I’ve just done 3 miles in 60 minutes. Am so proud of myself. Feel like I’m getting back on track. I plan to do it again tomorrow and on Sunday and get back to where I was pre chest infection….

I had fish and chips last night. The first time in 20 years with my now DH of saying I wanted a regular portion of chips and a small cod. It was so weird. Lots of head trash to unpick there. And it cost £11.85! I’d have been better with a fillet steak, oven chips and salad for the same price!

Anyway. Onwards. Now to start work :))

Let's do a mounjaro Lent challenge!
ChristmasLightsLover · 16/03/2025 21:58

Three apples.
Four pints of water.
And five miles of walking on a 20 minute per mile pace.

And all sorts of parenting and adulting stuff allllll weekend too! Am so proud of myself. How’s everyone doing?

Hi, checking in 👋. I have not eaten any chocolate, crisps OR sweets since we started, and almost 2 weeks in. I am amazed. I don't think I've ever gone 1 day without having at least one of those!!! I'm really glad you started this, as there have been times I did fancy a few crisps but then I remembered I'm doing this challenge, which has given me extra motivation on top of the jab. In truth, I haven't missed them, and the way I feel right now I don't think I ever want to eat them again. Crisps especially are major binge triggers for me, and I like the idea of just not eating them again. If I've wanted something on top of regular meals, which hasn't been often, I've had a cracker and a bit of cheese or some nuts, and felt satisfied with that. This whole ride so far has been truly mindblowing - I'm only a couple of weeks on mj, but feeling brilliant - long may it last.

Fitness wise, I was inspired by the mention of doing some squats, so I've started doing 25 morning and evening after brushing my teeth - also hoping this may help prevent any sagging bum issues😅.

Very inspiring seeing all the steps and walking stats above. I need to increase mine and start setting some targets. I've bought a fitbit watch today, and I plan to start tracking what I'm doing and increase my daily walking.

Well done everyone so far 👏
