Really ..that's so good to hear
So what difference have you found with 15..is your appetite much reduced

No, it's no different as far as I can tell. I didn't have much suppression until 10mg provably as I had been on Rybelsus max dose for 18 months but 10, 12 15 is about the same I think

SeaStoat · 18/03/2025 18:17

Month 2 completed on 5mg.

I sometimes need gaviscon. My bowels aren't as regular as they were - and occasionally get backed up, but haven’t needed senna. I had one night with the runs. I hadn’t eaten anything different so not sure why that was.

I have shed 18.8lbs, 8.9lbs in M1 and 9.9lbs M2. That’s 6% of my starting weight - as per clinical trials.

If I sustain half a stone or more a month, I’ll be another 4+ stone lighter by Xmas and down to 14 stone by next April. I know I felt great last time I was 14 stone (on a vlcd) - I was wearing sizes 14 & 16. Apparently a UK size 14 woman can weigh anywhere from 140-200 pounds - 10 stone to 14st 4lbs.

I’m not sure what my goal weight will be as I have lipoedema - so expect my torso, arms, butt and belly will reduce more than my thick painful legs.

For someone who is 5'6", a healthy weight range typically falls between 117 and 155 lbs - 8st 5lbs to 11st 1lbs. I was 12 stone at 18 years old and 16 stone by my 30s.

I’d like to get to a waist size 32 inches (that’s a size 14 apparently) from 44 inches - as they say that’s healthy.

I tend to eat twice a day. I break fast late and have supper sometime between 6 and 7pm. Some days I'll eat three times. Not sure why. I am still drinking Coke Zero and am eating mostly low carb carnivoreish. I don’t track calories etc. I don’t drink alcohol. I can feel the difference in my clothes and in my body. New jeans from Vinted and a few other bits and pieces size 24 & 22. The 22s are still way too small. No relief to my legs - and the reduction in arthritic pain I experienced in month one did not last.

DH hasn’t noticed. He was ill when I started so I didn’t discuss it with him. Then as he wasn’t around when I got pen 2, I decided I’d wait and see if he noticed. Our food bills are down - less food and no sweet stuff. His card pays for our groceries and I pay for the MJ so increased costs for me - and lower household credit card bills for him!!

It’s good reading your posts & progress. Thank you for sharing, everyone.

Hi all!
I went to the theatre this weekend and I could actually FIT IN THE SEAT!! 😭😭😭
This is such a huge deal for me, as I have had such shame with spilling over into the next door seat, not being able to put the arm rest fully down etc.
I have also been treated so poorly by people moving away from me, or nudging my elblw/feet to get me to move over (to where!?) and I end up being so self conscious and not enjoying the show.

I enjoyed every second of the theatre experience! Was even able to put my drink on the hand rest for a short time whilst I was doing something... This is unheard of just 3 months ago! Thank you MJ!

This is amazing! I’m so pleased for you. I have lost 3 stone so far and was much more comfortable at my last visit a couple of weeks ago. I can’t wait to be small enough to have proper room in my seat

MisfitMagpie · 18/03/2025 23:20

I took my first jab this evening, the calorie counting and eating healthier started a couple of weeks ago, I do have a lot to lose and know this will take time but something has shifted mentally and I am determined to succeed no matter how long it takes.

SW: 22 st 11.8 lb
GW: 12 st 5 lb (healthy range BMI as a target)

Already picked up lots of useful information from this site, posted in the March starters but also posting in this group as will take a while to get anywhere near my target.

TragicMuse · 19/03/2025 14:07

Hi @MisfitMagpie!

nice to meet you!

GnomeDePlume · 20/03/2025 07:42

SW 137KG BMI 53.5
CW 119 KG BMI 46.5
GW 60KG BMI 23.4

Only 59KG to go. Say it quickly and it doesnt sound too bad.

Lds1 · 20/03/2025 07:51

Weighed this morning, after a series of small losses, this week I lost 1.7kg (
3.75 lb). Total loss 43.5kg (6 stone, 11 lb), 52.5% of what needs to go.

Now weigh 99.3kg (15 stone, 8 lb and 14oz). That's my next goal met which was under 100kg!

Next goals
83.8kg will get me into the overweight category
80.5kg which will be about 75% of the way to target.

WafflingDreamer · 20/03/2025 08:18

SW 21st 9lb (BMI 44.8)

Total loss 54lbs / 3st 12lb

So close to 4st down and over a third of the way! My 8 year old weighed herself in pounds this morning and is 60lbs, I've nearly lost an entire 8yo child I can't imagine how much strain it was on my body having to carry that around all the time.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 20/03/2025 09:02

Morning! I've not been here for a bit - it was my birthday last Sunday and I had really hoped to be scraping under 20stone for it and instead I've spent all this week at just above it with the scales having no desire to move down!!! I am eating sensibly etc so I expect it will drop eventually so not worried but I had hoped to just nudge it over.

Anyone else finding sleep is all over the place? I've got lots going on so might not be the MJ and I'm prone to tricky sleep anyway (probably peri) but it just feels its been a bit more unpredictable recently .

I've had a horrid week at work and finding I have more than I can do in the the day - my hours are all over the place too and I only have another week of this (yay!) until I leave that particular contract. I have been so exhausted and just battling through BUT it occurred to me late last night had I not been on MJ I absoltuely would have been on the "carbs - fast" in this type of situation and al the easy-to-eat food. I feel completely burnt out through life/work and making some decisions which will impact our income negatively - but actually its prioritising health and wellbeing and I don't think I'd have managed to navigate this so well if my food issues weren't under control!

Lds1 · 20/03/2025 12:15

I've had a bad week at work and I think that's where my bigger loss has come from not having time to eat properly at lunch time.

On holiday soon though so I'm expecting to put some back on then!

TragicMuse · 20/03/2025 12:34

I’ve had nausea all morning so didn’t eat much breakfast. I’m hoping for another lb or 2 off this week to hit the first stone. Those markers can be so elusive!

GnomeDePlume · 20/03/2025 13:21

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden that is great especially in trying circumstances. We too have had situations where in other times we would have automatically had a takeaway. On mounjaro I havent been inspired to suggest it so we have planned for something sensible.

SilenceInside · 20/03/2025 14:51

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden and @Lds1sorry to hear that you’re both having a bad time at work at the moment. I’ve been there in the past and it can be so stressful.

@TragicMusehopefully the nausea is wearing off, and that you hit that next target.

It is sunny and actually warm outside today where I am. It’s 19 degrees, no chilly breeze either. I’m thoroughly enjoying it, which is so strange as I’m used to hating the start of warm weather due to previously carrying all the extra weight. But now it’s delightful, and I don’t have to wear as many layers!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 21/03/2025 07:19

@MisfitMagpie welcome! Good luck with your first week ☺️

Congrats on the losses @GnomeDePlume @Lds1 and @WafflingDreamer, over a third of the way must be exciting!

Are you going anywhere exciting @Lds1?

I forgot to pop this weeks loss on here, I weighed Tuesday and was another 2.6 lbs down, I’m 0.2 lbs away from a 50lb loss and for the first time ever I weigh less than my husband! We’ve been together since we were 16 and I’ve always weighed more than him, I’m feeling as light as a feather this week 😂

Kay2000 · 21/03/2025 09:43

@MisfitMagpie Welcome, I’ve found this thread is the best one for those of us who have a lot to lose. I stay away from the “OMG I’m 14 stone and totally disgusting” threads 🤣

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden yes my sleep has been bad on MJ, especially for a few days post injection, I just can’t get to sleep. I’m fortunate in that I don’t have to get up for work, so can catch up, I don’t think I’d cope if I had to wake up early, you have my sympathy.

I didn’t lose anything last week and have weighed in today, with a loss of only 1lb. Not sure why I’ve stalled, as I’m not doing anything different. In fact, this week I’ve felt quite nauseous and the appetite suppression was higher than last week, and have ate less than usual T/W/Th. Really odd and a bit disheartening tbh. I went out for lunch with husband for his birthday yesterday and whilst he tucked into steak pie and chips, I wasn’t hungry, and picked at a prawn sandwich and about half the fries it came with.

I’m away tonight and tomorrow, and will be eating out, so on Sunday when I’m home I’m going to sit and meal plan for the week, and include calories for the first time. I had wanted to avoid calorie counting but I want to check what I am eating. I’m also going to increase my swim from once a week to twice, then 3x when my body has adjusted, see if that helps to get the weight moving down.

It’s at this point on a diet I’d give up, but instead I’m trying to reason why not reach for food. MJ clearly is a miracle worker!

TragicMuse · 21/03/2025 14:33

My sleep isn’t that changed but it was all bit problematic anyway! I’ve just ordered my next pen so tomorrow is my last on 2.5mg. The suppression is less than it was but I know this is just an intro dose and I should get better suppression with a higher dose - I think?

What I’m finding is a real cotton-mouth all the time. I think I’m slightly chewing the inside of my mouth too so my cheeks are a bit sore. I need to think about how to deal with that.

Mostly though, I’ve stuck to way below my daily 1400 calorie average so I am hoping to lose more than 3/4 of a pound this week! But if that doesn’t happen, well, it’s still a loss.

marathon not a sprint, marathon not a sprint [repeat to fade]

SilenceInside · 21/03/2025 14:49

Week 37 weigh in for me.

Starting Weight: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
Current Weight: 91.4kg (14st 5.5 lbs), was 92.4kg (14st 7.7 lbs) last week
Goal Weight: 90kg (14st 2 lbs) fourth interim goal.

Current pen is 7.5mg, 27 weeks on this dosage.

Another 1kg down, pretty standard for me at the moment, so happy with that.

My sleep has generally improved whilst on Mounjaro, I snore a lot less and I wake up feeling more rested as a result I think. I do wonder if I had sleep apnoea as I had a lot of the symptoms. I do get quite vivid dreams now, but I used to get dreams like that way back when before I had my children. I think it’s possibly a feature of getting better sleep now.

Lds1 · 21/03/2025 15:59

Thank you @SilenceInside.

@Iwouldratherbesinging not going anywhere exciting, just a short break from work but we'll end up eating out more whilst out and about.

Well done on your loss, in the end goal I should weigh less than my husband but it's still a long way off.

TragicMuse · 21/03/2025 20:35

well done @SilenceInside that's brilliant!

I have everything crossed for everyone's WI tomorrow (inc my own)!

HelpMebeok · 22/03/2025 06:53

I love this thread.Gives me so much hope. I've been on 2.5mg for 8 weeks now. Lost 21 pounds and think I'm ready to move up to 5mg. My weigh in day is Sunday so I might even have a few more pounds off by then. Hoping for another 2 this week.
I had some nasty side effects on my first month (week 2 and week 4) then none on my second month so hoping it isn't too bad for me on 5mg. I'm a bit nervous.
one thing I've noticed is that I can no longer drink carbonated drinks. I used to be a 3/4 cans of Diet Coke and although it's great that I've managed to overcome they addiction so easily it feels weird drinking water exclusively and I miss the little treat of a can of Diet Coke. Not tempted though as they now give me horrific sulphur burps.

Lds1 · 22/03/2025 08:28

If I want a treat drink, I have some still flavoured water. How times have changed!

Usually it's just plain water and a cup of black coffee each day.

TragicMuse · 22/03/2025 09:08

Week 4. 2.5mg

Loss this week 0.75lbs. Which is slightly disappointing considering I’ve averaged around 1330 daily calories.

well. It’s a loss.

SW 19st 4lbs
CW 18st 4.75lbs

So close to the elusive first stone. It will probably hit tomorrow! Dammit!

Anyway. I can see why people break the pens! There is LOADS left in mine! I’ve paid for that! I seriously thought about trying to do that going for a double today, jumping to 5mg a week early. I haven’t. But it was tempting.

and given the cost I think I’m going to invest in some syringes and needles. There’s a lot of money at stake and I’d like to maximise it if I can. Or at least try.

Lds1 · 22/03/2025 12:47

I've never had a pen where I couldn't get a 5th dose, my pens haven't been breakable for a while so I've just been using syringes.

I looked on the drs records I have available which go back to 2005 and I weigh less than I did then :)

TragicMuse · 22/03/2025 17:02

I measured myself - I make my own clothes so I am intimately acquainted with my measurements!!

I’ve lost an inch off my underbust and waist and 2 inches off my hips. That is a win!

Spent the afternoon making some protein-ball snacks for the week. They’ll be good for afternoon low points.

Lds1 · 22/03/2025 17:37

@TragicMuse I'd love to be able to make my own clothes! I've just been shopping to get a few smaller t-shirts, mine are all getting way too big.
