I se nutracheck. I used to use My Fitness Pal (MFP) but I wanted a clean break from my previous attempts.

I’ve recreated some of my old recipes but only the ones that are real regulars. The rest I’m making a new start with what I eat and how I cook it.

Tea has been manageable. I didn’t eat all of it and can track most of it so will over-estimate where possible to give myself a rough idea of today’s position.

Springsunflower · 15/03/2025 18:06

I was using the loose it app ,which I preferred..but I can't get it to reset
So moved to NHS one .
It's clear though,not complicated to use .
Suppression has been very good today
I'm trying to see if there is a pattern to when my suppression is high or low
I last jabbed on Tuesday, and today is Saturday
Wednesday and Thursday were very difficult days food wise , although I stuck to my calories
Yesterday was ok ,today suppression high so high 4 days after jab .

HelpMebeok · 16/03/2025 07:26

Woo hoo.weigh in this morning and im under 20 stone. 19.13 but still under! Definitely haven't been under 20 in more than 5 years so I'm thrilled. My mini goal is 18 stone which was my weight in summer 2017. Thanks for letting me share.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/03/2025 09:21

Congrats on the 3 stone off @PinkArt i’ll join you with the monumental celebrations at 100lbs off!

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden wow! 1 and a half stone is brilliant, you were so nervous when you first started and look where you are now!

@SignalCat I average 1.5 to 2.5lbs in a week, it soon adds up, I got frustrated at the beginning and wanted it all off now… but it is a journey and I’m well and truly settled into it now, it’s a slowish jog and it’s exciting seeing the changes. I’ve also lost the bread and the sweet cravings, even though I don’t crave them I still have bread either on a Friday or Saturday and that hits the spot for me. I just have to make sure I don’t become a bit complacent about it all.

Hi @BookishDogMum comparison is definitely the thief of joy and we’ve all experienced it. When I first started, I felt some suppression after about 48 hours but I don’t know if that was more of a placebo effect, but the biggest change for me was not thinking about what can I eat next even though I’m not hungry. That was worth its weight in gold. And having a meal and being able to stop as I was full - magic! I’m 5 months into this now and 3 and a half stone down, it’s the most weight I have ever lost on a diet and I’m 57!

I had a busy day yesterday as I was involved in a music festival which involved some food pre planning, I took a pot of sushi with me and a squeezy pouch of high protein yoghurt, sushi always fills me up. But got home late and couldn’t be bothered to cook so ordered pizza! But….. I ordered a small 7inch and managed to eat 3 slices and had a big salad with it. Last year I would have scoffed a whole 2 person pizza, garlic bread and wedges, so I felt quite smug and gave myself a pat on the back 😆

Well done everyone for your weight losses, fabulous. I’m feeling my suppression isn’t there anymore, I’m on 5mg and have 3 more doses (2nd pen) before the 7.5 which is waiting in the fridge for me. I’ve stayed the same weight this week. I’m wondering whether to do some extra clicks from this pen to up my dose. I could also try harder to lose weight, up to now it’s been enough to not snack and “eat less” at my meals. Maybe it’s time to look at my calories and what I eat. Before MJ I was having success with a lower carb/higher protein diet, but I’ve been back to sandwiches etc. It’ll be easier to eat salads when it warms up a bit!

@Iwouldratherbesinging what high protein yoghurt do you recommend? I’m away next weekend so thinking it might be an idea to take something like that with me for breakfast.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/03/2025 10:59

@Kay2000 I buy the Lidl milbona high protein yoghurts in the squeezy pouches as they are really easy to eat on the go and are filling, they are not overly sweet, I think they are around 160 calories. I’ve only had the strawberry or the passion fruit one.

I don’t see anything wrong, flying 6 hours with the baby to meet his excited grandparents.

For us, my wife’s parents was still living in VN.
At a similar age as your baby, we had to fly 20 plus hours overseas, so her parents can meet their grandkid. 🇻🇳
Our baby got lots of hugs, kisses and loving from the grandparents, and was. introduce to all of his relatives and even the grandparents neighbors. Our baby got lots of Red Lucky Envelopes to his college fund 🧧
For us, It’s a honor and almost a requirement to make this 1st trip for our baby to meet their grandkid grandparents and relatives.
This explains the Vietnamese’s strong family values and its culture. It’s also a good test for my Wife as she moved on to Motherhood!

TragicMuse · 16/03/2025 11:20

Wrong thread I think @Hainvo

TragicMuse · 16/03/2025 11:26

I was thinking yesterday about stalling and slowing and wondering if those experiencing this are taking account of the lower TDEE calories required at lower weight and therefore proportionately scaling down the calorie deficit?

You probably have but it’s the kind of thing that would catch me out.

It occurred to me when I was looking at a tracker for where I could be if I continue at my current rate. And I noticed that there was a column for daily maintenance calories and deficit and they both decreased.

I will need to remember this. And I think some of the apps take it into account but if you’re not using an app that might catch you out.

I’m feeling good today. I think I managed tea out well and didn’t feel overdone or like I’d undone all my good work.

Onwards, sistren!!

BookishDogMum · 16/03/2025 12:31

@Iwouldratherbesinging i actually noticed that yesterday for the first time and was really grateful for it! Onwards and upwards! Or downwards rather!!!

Loveanewusername · 16/03/2025 18:18

Week 9

sw 305 lb
cw. 284 lb

21lb down

been a slow week and only lost 1/2lb , however we did go out for a calorific pub meal with a couple of large glasses of wine so I suppose it’s not too bad .

having to work harder , I don’t think suppression is what it was

still loosing so I’m keeping going. People are starting to notice which has given me a boost, I’m also moving more without even noticing

side note , husband has just finished his second/ third week and he has lost a stone .

TragicMuse · 16/03/2025 19:38

Well done!

I have just my first actual challenge. Made macaroni and cauliflower cheese for supper - a real favourite. Normally I’d eat it till I was fit to burst, but have stopped at the portion I measured out.

I’m actually full, but my head wants more. I’m not going to have any more but the brain struggle of wanting it is really hard right now!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 17/03/2025 14:08

@TragicMuse i love Mac and cauliflower cheese! Haven’t had it since I started this journey though, I don’t think I could trust myself not to scoff (at least try) it all. Hope the brain struggle wore off.

Ive often wondered about what I’ll do when my weight loss starts slowing, I’m not counting calories at all, I know roughly after relentless years of restrictive diets what I’m consuming. I want to avoid the calorie counting if I can, it made me so miserable in the past. For now I’m sticking my head in the sand and I’ll probably have to have a rethink when that starts to happen.

Hi all!
I went to the theatre this weekend and I could actually FIT IN THE SEAT!! 😭😭😭
This is such a huge deal for me, as I have had such shame with spilling over into the next door seat, not being able to put the arm rest fully down etc.
I have also been treated so poorly by people moving away from me, or nudging my elblw/feet to get me to move over (to where!?) and I end up being so self conscious and not enjoying the show.

I enjoyed every second of the theatre experience! Was even able to put my drink on the hand rest for a short time whilst I was doing something... This is unheard of just 3 months ago! Thank you MJ!

TragicMuse · 18/03/2025 07:54

Ohhh that’s wonderful @mamabeeboo you should see my grin at reading that! I love the theatre and I totally understand what it means.

Is anyone on 12mg ??..did you have worse side effects??
I'm going up with my next pen
Been lucky to have few side effects so far
Hopefully 12 won't be any worse

Doggymummar · 18/03/2025 13:54

I'm on 15 and haven't had any additional side effect. 5mg was the worst.

@mamabeeboo thats fantastic! I totally get the feeling you had before, we would always try and book aisle seats to avoid that situation..

I’ve recently discovered I can sit with my legs crossed like a lady! (Not on the floor legs crossed, one over the other whilst sitting crossed ☺️)
