@Billybingbong I haven't used Medicine Market Place, but i plan to for my next dose, with the thought I can just stick with them then.
I have searched and searched for opinions of them, and all I can find is positive for those who have actually used them.

SilenceInside · 10/04/2025 14:41

@Billybingbong I have switched once, from Asda to Zava, it took a while for me to decide to swap as I thought it might be a hassle. But it was extremely straightforward and I should have done it sooner! I will swap again in order to get a decent price, if I need to, but I've had discounts with Zava so far that has made them reasonable enough to stay put. I will also swap to a provider that supports maintenance when I get to a BMI of 30 ish.

Thank you, I'll probably give them a try. They just seem cheaper all round, even the higher doses

Lds1 · 10/04/2025 15:13

I've only ever used zava, I don't have the energy to start swapping every month, there's usually a discount code to be found so I don't think I've ever paid full price.

I will look to swap to a pharmacy with maintenance nearer the time.

Not posted in a while, had a lot of stop and starts after starting the jabs in Feb. Not managed to go up a dose so I’m on my second 2.5mg pen as side effects have been bad. This has been my first week without any side effects and its jab day tomorrow.

Any one got any tips for managing sulphur burps? I cannot cope with them, can put up with bloating and some constipation but the sulphur burps make me feel like I’m never going to be able to get up to a decent dose.

Starting Weight (pre-Mounjaro) - 20st 3
Mounjaro Starting weight - 16st 3
Current Weight - 15st 7

Billybingbong · 10/04/2025 14:35

Quick question. Does everyone stick with the same providers, or switch for the best prices? I dont want any of the extra support etc that some providers offer, I just want the pen. So it seems silly not to shop around, but is it worth the hassle?

Also (sorry that's 2 questions 😁) , does anyone use Medicine Marketplace?

I used Chequp for two years and moved to Oushk last month as they are a bit cheaper

Guardium works well for me. You can get it same day on Amazon, or door dash it from Boots

Tainiz · 10/04/2025 16:13

I change my supplier every month to get a better price. It's fairly straightforward, although this month was more involved as they wanted a video of me showing my whole body and one of me standing on the scales to prove my weight, as well as the usual evidence of previous prescriptions if going up a dose. I think this was because of the change in trying to stop people with lower BMIs wanting to use it as it was only last week (into April).

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden re antacids - up until the mid 80s, and a fair bit later, it was assumed that gastric ulcers and inflamed gut were caused by lifestyle: stress and a rich, fatty diet.

The 'treatment' was a plain diet and less stress. There were also very heavily advertised medications to reduce stomach acid and ease the symptoms. Treating symptoms was big business and there was no commercial interest in research.

In the mid 1980s it was discovered that a cause could be a bacterial infection (H Pylori). A course of antibiotics and problem solved.

I see parallels with the diet industry, don't solve the problem just treat the symptoms: join the clubs, fail, join the clubs, fail.

I heard from the weight loss surgery team this week, they think my date for surgery will be December.
I've lost over 5 stone ..but that's because of mj blocking the food noise ,hunger doesn't bother me ,it was the cravings that got me this fat .
So I have some thinking to do .
So I've lost 5 stone in about 7 months,so it's 8 months to Christmas,I should manage another 5 stone by then ..
That would take me to a size 18 ..is it worth having weight loss surgery at a size 18? Are people actually doing that at a size 18. .
When you have been a size 32 a size 18? Seems positively skinny, but I appreciate if your a 12 and end up an 18 ,you don't feel so skinny .
Will they even do the surgery on a size 18 .

Springsunflower · 10/04/2025 16:36

Oh goodness,I can't even add up properly
5 stone of should take me to a size 16 ,not 18 .sorry

Thank you, so if you get eggy burps and you take these it stops them? Or do you take them as a preventative?

Hi, I have moved providers each month. So far I have used medexpress, IQ doctor, oushk, and medicine marketplace.
MM is good. Straight forward and despatch within a day or two. Would recommend!

@Springsunflower when I look back at photos of myself at size 16 there's no way that I needed wls. What does your wls team think? You also might want to consider however that your weight loss may slow right down. It's definitely a conundrum! But you have done really well so far!

Yes exactly
If I tell them no ,and don't loose much weight between now and Christmas I will be upset .
But equally I don't think I can loose weight with mj silencing the noise .
And I don't think I can stay on mj after having surgery,I don't want to go back to craving food ..and I don't think WLS stop the cravings like mj does

Springsunflower · 10/04/2025 18:33

With out mj

Motnight · 10/04/2025 18:34

Thank you for the welcome to the thread. Have been reading the posts over the last few days. I have lost 5 stone now and if I lose 5 more I will be very happy but will still be in the overweight range. Crazy that I made myself that big in the first place.

@Lds1 where do you find your Zava discount codes please? I am with them and didn't realise that existing customers could also use codes. Thank you.

Really interesting to be able to resonate with so many of the posts here.

I’ve stuck with MedExpress so far, have found them pretty good and I usually manage to get someone to use my code so get £40 off most months.

SilenceInside · 10/04/2025 23:55

Oh blimey I hadn’t seen that my post was deleted. It was a general code that anyone can use and no one gets a kick back for, but my mistake for posting it directly here. You can see it on the Monj.co.uk site, @Motnighton the discount price list on the far right hand column.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a post deleted before!

Motnight · 11/04/2025 07:22

Thank you @SilenceInside. And apologies for being the cause of your deletion!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 11/04/2025 07:28

Thanks @GnomeDePlume for explaining about the antacids. I didn't know that and yes excellent parallels! I am so glad to finally have something that works rather than go through that cycle of wondering if maybe/giving soemthing a go/failing/being larger...

I am miles away from goal weight (will be over a year still) but I am a bit nervous now I may need to stay on the medication and financially we only budgeted for a year.

@mamabeeboo you mentioned Liam rebelfit. I quite liked him. I did a few of his "missions" and although I like his ethos one of the ones I did he was insistent everyone could exercise at the same time every day. Like you our life was not easy as at that time (understatement) and although I'd been proud of my progress I saw a different side of him. His interactions with people insisting he was right and it would only his way was so arrogant and entitled. He's obviously doing well from rebelfit with a good income and a lot of freedom in his day and he lacked empathy and insight. Which I did think he generally did well. I still like his general messaging though and think he's spot on for exercise in general. Possibly not for food.

I'm about to check in to do my jab. I told myself I wouldn't get sucked into trying to weigh as little as possible on weigh in day but I am frustrated I haven't done a proper poop in a while!!

Tmi alert - Ive been doing small amounts... But I'm taking magnesium, senna, chia, dates and yesterday started on movicol. I was expecting a flood!!!

After several weeks of it being the other direction this has been a whole new week on the fun roller coaster of MJ side effects!!

Whoever asked who people were with. I was lucky enough to do Shemed for £99 a month for a year. They've now gone upto £159 flat rate so it's not such a good deal.

mamabeeboo · 11/04/2025 07:31

Morning everyone, just about to weigh myself before my big glass of water. The scales haven't moved much in the last 3 weeks, I've been paying the price for my blow out mothers day weekender😂
Whoever said that heavier people lose weight faster, I think my body doesn't have the memo 😋 the 2 stone loss is just out of grasp by a kilo.... Come ooonnnnn!!!!

TragicMuse · 11/04/2025 07:51

I’ve changed my jab day to today! I wanted to pull it back a bit to get more out it at the weekend and stop the nausea running over into work as Mondays are always busy. I might do the same next week to bring it to a Thursday jab.

So, jab and WI today:

Week 7, 5mg

SW 270lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
MJ SW 263.5 (1 Mar 2025)
CW 240lbs
Loss this week 1.75lbs
Total loss 21lbs

Interim GW (set by Nutracheck!) 234lbs

Still a loser!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 11/04/2025 08:09

Hmm 1pound loss this week. I agree @mamabeeboo I was hoping that. Being morbidly obese I'd lose faster! Although I have ready 1-2lb a week is ideal I'd like to be at the 2lb end of that not the 1lb and suspect it could be a bit more with as much to lose as I have.

I'm not sure at what point it becomes "too fast" for weight loss and harmful to our bodies... But I'm obviously not in danger of that!!
