Well done losers!

I’m hoping to stick with 5mg for a while. We’ll see.

I have a NSV today, had to do my bra up on the last set of hooks! This is my favourite bra. I have it in a smaller size and when I shrink out of this one I will move to
my smaller one. But for now, tightest hooks baby! That’s so pleasing!

Lobsterteapot · 28/03/2025 15:45

Week 11 and 4 pounds lost this week. 2 stone 6 off in total since the start of the year 😃

Iwouldratherbesinging · 28/03/2025 15:46

Woo hoo @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden! That’s bloody brilliant news!

I bought a pair of jeans today…. From Primark!!! I wouldn’t have dreamt of being able to buy jeans in Primark this time last year! And they have room 😂

Happy Friday! I thought I’d join your wonderful thread as you have all inspired me to start my own 10stone plus weight loss journey.
I’m 51, menopausal and like many of us, have spent probably 40 years on and off diets, only to reach my highest weight ever this year at 27.12 stone. I had convinced myself that mounjaro wasn’t the right choice for me, but then I found your thread and I’m so glad I did - your experiences, stories, and support for one another on here helped me see that this really could work. While I was reading, and researching I lost 7 lbs on my own, before taking the plunge to order my first pen. That arrived a week ago, and I’ve done my second injection last night with a further 7lbs off, making March a great 1 stone lighter! So far I feel good, no real side effects, and best of all loving that the constant food noise has gone. Once again, thank you for inspiring me to take the first step, and I look forward to reading your successes and hopefully sharing mine!!

PinkArt · 28/03/2025 17:54

Welcome @CheeryCamper, this is lovely to read. It's hard not to get evangelical about mounjaro but jeez it really works. I take Photos Of Doom every time I start a new pen and as much as no-one else must ever see them, they're great to see the changes. Today's shows much more of an actual waist than last month's.

TragicMuse · 28/03/2025 18:05

I hadn’t thought of photos of doom before each new pen - that’s a great idea @PinkArt

Welcome @CheeryCamper we understand the very different parameters of weight loss when it’s on our scale. You can do it! WE can do it!

PinkArt · 28/03/2025 18:48

They're really useful for seeing the more subtle changes @TragicMuse . I knew I was a bit smaller around the middle than last month's but seeing the pictures side by side showed what the difference actually was. I do a side view, straight on and a selfie that's not done from the chin flattering MySpace angle! The latter are reassuring that although there is plenty of extra chin on display still, there is noticably less than when I started in November!

TragicMuse · 28/03/2025 20:18

Planned and within my day’s calories we had fish and chips tonight! I took most of the batter off and shared chips with the teenager - there are still lots left.

It’s so interesting, I had what I wanted and didn’t overdo it. Had some, enjoyed it, stopped. It feels like I’ve eaten like a thin person!

What is this magic?!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 28/03/2025 23:28

Oh @CheeryCamper what a lovely post to read, and a big warm welcome! You can so do this, it’s amazing and so freeing, glad to have you with us on your journey ☺️

@TragicMuse I know what you mean. I had pizza for dinner which is our Friday night tradition. I had a Dr Oetker pizza (don't judge me, I like them) and ate half which is the portion size according to the packet.

Prior to starting mounjaro I would normally have eaten the whole thing.

I have noticed that I am looking at recipes in a different light. In the past I would have scoffed at the portion sizes. Now I am looking at them and thinking 'oh yes, that's plenty'.

Kay2000 · 29/03/2025 11:36

I’m wondering about going up to 7.5 tomorrow. I’m still losing weight albeit slower than many, but the appetite suppression is definitely not as strong. Any advice? Should I stick to 5 as long as I’m losing weight and use a bit more willpower (good training!) or should I try and lose weight slightly more quickly by going up a pen?

TragicMuse · 29/03/2025 12:04

That is a good question @Kay2000 and one I will be pondering! Unfortunately I don’t know the answer. But if I was thinking about it for myself I would weigh up the long-term habit training against the perception that it’s a quick fix and does all the work for you. We know it’s not a one and done solution. It takes hard work, the drug is to support that. To support the formation of new habits and ways of thinking about food. So although I want to get there as quickly as I can (and have a predictor for what I could be at various points of the year) I also know I need to take my time to make those habit changes take root in my food brain.

Does that help?

TragicMuse · 29/03/2025 12:11

I’ve done my first 5mg today.

And I’ve noticed a weird thing. For the last 2 weeks my weight had totally stalled by Wednesday and I lose nothing between then and WI ON Saturday despite being under my daily calories.

This week I appear to have lost .75 of a pound since Sunday. It’s damn annoying! And it will probably show up tomorrow or whoosh next week but man it’s irritating!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 29/03/2025 17:21

We had a last minute trip to the cinema last night, totally unplanned so it mucked up dinner plans, got home at 8:30pm so I decided to have beans on toasted sourdough with some cheese, didn’t eat until 9pm and I was starving!
omg, the indigestion! Kept waking me up through the night, it’s now 5:15 and I still feel bloated and horrible, I’ve picked at some prawns today and taken Gaviscon. This is the first time I’ve experienced this since starting in October!

How miserable for you @Iwouldratherbesinging

Hope you feel better soon

HelpMebeok · 29/03/2025 18:59

I don't know what's going on with me. Went up to 5mg this week after 8 weeks on 2.5mg and I'm just not feeling the suppression is as strong and the food noise is back. Anyone else experienced this? I was hoping to stay on 5 for at least two months .

TragicMuse · 30/03/2025 09:56

As predicted this week’s loss has shown up today instead of yesterday. 🤷‍♀️

SW 19st 4lbs
CW 18st 1.5lbs

Loss this week 2lbs
Total loss 16.5lbs

The 17s are tantalisingly close!

HelpMebeok · 30/03/2025 11:57

Weigh in today. I don't think I had a great week with reduced suppression and I definitely ate things I didn't need.
However I'm thrilled to report a 2lb weight loss.
SW 21.7
CW 19.9

my BMI has gone from 50 to 45! Long way to go but I'm going in the right direction. Chasing the 2 stone goal for next week.

lovethepuppies · 30/03/2025 13:10

Keep going everyone !! I started the jabs a couple of years ago ( saxenda ) and have successfully lost 11stone. To say it’s life changing is an understatement. I’m managing to keep it off too. I’m just so determined not to go back there as my quality of life was awful . Keep plugging away everyone !

Lds1 · 30/03/2025 13:14

Back from holiday I weighed this morning and have lost .5 kg, thought I'd have put on as ate more quick food than usual.

So lost in total 44kg (6 stone and 13 lb). Hopefully get to 7 stone next week.

Now 98.8kg (15 stone, 7 lb)
BMI gone from 50.8 to 35.2

Got 38.8kg (6 stone, 1 lb) to go, end date now stretched into November, hopefully can pull it back in the next couple of weeks.

Saw some trousers in a sale, tried them on, they did up but were way too tight. I've bought them in the hope they will fit better soon.

Well done @Lds1 that's brilliant!

And, you've bought the trousers in expectation, not hope - it's a downward trajectory and will continue to be so!

TragicMuse · 30/03/2025 15:05

I'm feeling a bit nauseous today. Made brunch and enjoyed it but just feel a bit yuck!

I've got a Too Good To Go bag this afternoon which might be pizza - that should do the teenager! I will think of what I'll have later.

I'm hoping to stay on 5mg for a while, and am planning to attempt to extract the extra dose. But that's a future-me matter. Meanwhile, ginger tea and some sofa sitting I think!

mamabeeboo · 30/03/2025 16:21

Hope all is well with everyone! Does anyone else feel like they have wasted their pen/wasted the weekend if it's a bit of a blow out? It's been a weekend of celebration and lots of food /takeaway and I'm getting anxious about the number on the scale tomorrow.

Gosh that's good, I've been two years this week and have lost 5 stone, same to go again. How are you maintaining, or do you have more to go?

So long as I have stuck to my calories I don't worry about the odd bad food, that's life.
