Hi,

Anyone on WLI and in the slow lane v. welcome here for a bit of plodding supportive chat!

Plodders, bobbers, plateau-ers, stallers and stuck ducks come on in! Would be great to chat with others who are in the same boat, ie travelling at the speed of snails on their WL journey.

I have a mountain to move (nearly 5 st), am not ready to give up on Mounjaro yet and would love a bit of company here on this long haul to reach a healthy BMI. 🦥 🐌 🏔️

Come join me if you have a long way to go (either due to slow losses or amount to lose) and would like some peer support to keep going when the scales are being stubborn. It’s hard being on WLI when it’s not working as well for you and progress is slow or stalled. This is a safe space to share anything, the good, the bad and the side effecty. Anything positive (scale or non scale related) as well as freedom to vent and grumble as much as you want

If you taking WLI and trucking along nicely or nearly at your goal weight that is fantastic but please post on a different thread.

Hope you've managed to find those missing clothes @PlodAlongPolly ! Great news about the 2 lbs 💫

I'm the same weight I was two weeks ago. This week I am up the 0.6 lbs that I was down last week. Whilst that is the way it goes sometimes (often!) I am aware that my calories probably upped a bit in the last week too. I keep saying I am going to do a week really trying to hit nutrition goals/log on MFP...I need to.

I have made some progress in other areas though. It all boils down to habits and simple rules really, and not expecting too much too soon - of course! I'm enjoying this shift and hope it will naturally build.

My rehab strength class block came to an end. Realised that they were much more expensive than I thought...quite torn given I am already costing quite a lot at the moment with MJ and piano lessons. It is time to start trying harder with the Piano (have started that now) and doing my home exercises. Turning up to these expensive classes and doing very little inbetween is a shocking waste of money that I had crept into doing. Think this was the wake up call I needed. Once a fortnight I think and making much more of an effort inbetween!

Still plodding along but delighted today to be 12 stone and overweight rather than obese! Yay!

Well done! That was me a few weeks ago and it's a great feeling isnt it? I've been slightly stuck but it's starting to slowly move again. My BMI is now 29 and I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. It might take another 6 months to get to 24/25 but so be it. I have exactly 10 kilos left to go, but once that gets down to single figures it will feel even more manageable. I'm taking every little milestone I can!

I still remember just feeling so desperate to be 'anything under 100 kilos' as it would have been better than nothing.

tryingtobesogood · 21/10/2025 13:28

I’m so stuck and rather fed up. I’ve dropped down to 5mg because I’m just couldn’t take the side effects anymore. I was going to stop altogether but feel ok on this low dose.

I’m focusing really hard on eating well, using the weight watchers app. I’ve upped my protein and fibre and having fewer carbs. I will be doing more strength training now my cold has lifted.

Something has got to give eventually

Thank you @AlmostStopped they have remained elusive but am feeling the cold more and in my winter woolies now! I don’t mind them a bit big either, can fit more layers underneath! 😆 Anyone else feeling the cold more since losing some weight?

That’s great insights there about habits and
I hope all is going well with the nutrition goals, rehab and piano lessons 🌸

It definitely will 🫶 you’ve come so far and it will shift, you’re in a stall atm but doing all the right stuff. Even if it isn’t showing on the scales right now it will be doing wonders for your health and power more wl to come. I’m glad you’ve found a good level on the 5mg that’s doing the job and hope the SE have reduced or stopped. I hear you though, I totally get fed up in stalls, it is hard! Sending snaily (but not slimy) Polly hugs your way 🩷 x

I thought I might share this as I’m not interested in cooking since being on MJ but this was v easy and quick, did for a nice dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day.
— wholemeal fusilli,
can of tuna,
sweetcorn,
baby spinach (washed and ready to eat from packet),
green beans (cooked and chopped)

Mixed together in the pan used to boil the pasta and veg, with mayo, tsp whole grain mustard, salt/pepper and dash of olive oil.

I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the green beans but already had them cooked and leftover in the fridge. They were v nice in it though so would prob bother to cook them next time!

I did lose weight in the end this week, I lost 1.5lbs, and I am now 3 ounces away from the next stone, 3 ounces!!! I am going to carry on following weight watchers and stick with 5mg as it does seem to be working without the side effects I had at higher doses.

I have batch cooked 6 different meals for the freezer, which will really help as I won't have takeaways or readymeals on those days that I can't face cooking. I love a batch cook Sunday!!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Hello

Been MIA for ages. Just caught up up and it sounds like there is some significant snail progress. Alas, not for me but I will keep creeping along. I’m also a smidgeon over 2lbs until the next stone bracket down. I swear that somehow those mean scales know and refuse to budge out of sheer bloody-mindedness and/or cruelty.

GeraniumRoseblush · 01/11/2025 13:41

Hi plodders, hope everyone's well and there's a smidgeon of snail progress amongst us! It's certainly not with me atm. Have been up and down a lb for the last month - very frustrating as I did just hit a 'healthy' BMI but have got no further so quite fed up.

Not really sure what to do re jabs, I'd like to lose another half a stone so I've got some leeway but also don't really have unlimited jabs budget now that they're pricier. I've been reducing my dose over the last few weeks to 3.5mg-ish - wondering whether I should up it again to 5mg to see if that kickstarts it again, or whether I keep plugging away and eventually the stall will break? What say ye, experienced plodders? How long can stalls last?!

AlmostStopped · 01/11/2025 19:50

I would carry on @GeraniumRoseblush . No idea how long stalls can last…I really thought I was going to this month, or even gain. Midweek i was the same weight as I was 3.5 weeks ago.

I was surprised and very pleased to see 1.5 lbs off on WI day (sat) this week. that makes a grand total of 1.6lbs over the last four weeks - so 0.4 lbs/wk. I’ll take it! It inspired me to try and find another solution to my eating issues - just no interest at all in cooking at the moment. Going to give the smaller portion field doctor meals a go, and make it a habit to have them with plenty of veg.

tryingtobesogood · 02/11/2025 10:37

Morning

@GeraniumRoseblush I have been stuck since Sept, having lost and gained the same 1.5lb all month. It seems to have stayed off now, but I haven't lossed again this week.

I had dropped to 5mg due to side effects but I think I might go up to 6.75 this week to see if that gets the losses going again, as I have a long way to go yet. Maybe going back up to 5mg will do the same for you. You are so close, that must be so frustrating.

@AlmostStopped that's a good idea, I am going to do that with my meals, I have increased my fibre a lot, and but think I will also cut my portions down a little and make the difference up with vegetables. I have a big family party at the end of Nov, and it would be great to have shifted a little more weight before then. to have a few more choices about what to wear.

GeraniumRoseblush · 02/11/2025 13:42

@AlmostStopped congrats on the unexpected loss this week 🙌 Its so random isn't it- one minute something's working and the next, it's not. Let us know how the Field Doctor meals go. I've been trying a few recipes from 30g Plan by Emma Bardwell, she's a nutritionist and has recipes with 30g protein per meal and 30g fibre a day. Let's see how they go.

@tryingtobesogood it's so frustrating isn't it! I mean we're used to a slow loss, but non-existent is pushing it a bit 🤷‍♀️ totally appreciate my body is worried about a famine but really, I think it's being overprotective 😉 Let us know if the 6.75 kickstarts it again for you 🙏

AlmostStopped · 02/11/2025 18:58

Emma Bardwell sounds interesting @GeraniumRoseblush - I shall look those meals up!

I WI again today and have lost a bit more, which means I hit two mini goals and I noticed a NSV

  • sub 13 st
  • 25% weight loss
  • tried size smaller jeans as noticed mine were baggy, and they fit!
  • less than 5 lbs now until I have a BMI sub 30 (currently 30.8)

I also decided I had better order some more MJ, as I last ordered mid August (as ADSA allowed you to order three at the old prices). Whilst I knew it was going up £90 a dose effectively for me it was sobering having to pay £273 for a 15 mg pen (very pleased I have a lot of 10% off voucher codes now, as it would be over £300 without one including delivery). I shall find out whether I will get a 5 dose one of a 4 dose one then. Fingers crossed for 5 dose! If this doesn’t get me trying harder I’m not sure what will. I am very expensive to run at the moment and husband is making comments 😳

Good luck with the 6.75 mg @tryingtobesogood !

Back to work for me tomorrow after half term. I am very pleased to say I did a lot of work over half term so I am going back with all my outstanding jobs done. I vow to work harder this term so I don’t need to do any over Christmas!

AlmostStopped · 02/11/2025 19:09

Oh and thank you for sharing the recipe @PlodAlongPolly ! Just realised I replied to that several days ago, got caught up with doing something else and never actually hit reply! It definitely sounds like my kind of thing, and realistic given my lack of interest in cooking at the moment.

tryingtobesogood · 04/11/2025 14:45

I need a re-group and a re-focus as I have wandered into a 'can't be bothered to eat properly' phase which doesn't feel good. I had, for no reason other than I fancied it, cheese on toast for brunch. Trouble is it made me feel awful, all that fat!! So regrouping and refocusing on all the things that I do that make me feel better even if they don't always mean I lose weight.

I am drawing a line under it today and moving on. Tomorrow is another day with lots of opportunities to exercise, eat well and feel better.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 04/11/2025 21:01

Sounds really positive @tryingtobesogood - good luck.

Was there someone on here who switched to Wegovy? Just wondered how that’s going

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 05/11/2025 16:41

I’ve finally lost two stone. It’s taken 11 months - which is obviously ridiculous, but I’m still glad to have reached the milestone. Now for the next two… Same time next year? (Hopefully it’ll speed up a bit)

NaivePrey · 06/11/2025 18:17

oncemorewithfee1ing congrats - yes it may feel slow but you've done it! 🤗It's taken me 12 months to lose 2.5 stone and without MJ probably would have taken much longer! I've accepted it might take me 2 years to get to where I want - but as long as I'm losing that's good - I've also stayed on the 5mg - I had tried to go up to 7.5mg but it didn't agree with me and the appetite suppression was too much and I just felt unwell.

I've had a tough time over the last few months with family / work issues - so haven't trained for over 6 weeks and my most consistent losses have happened with a bit of calorie deficit but weight training 3/4 times a week. So back to the grind this week.

So I'm refocusing coming up to Christmas and maybe I can lose a kilo or two by the end of the year! Hope everyone else is doing well?

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 10/11/2025 10:16

Sorry you’ve had a hard time @NaivePrey . I do think it’s easier to focus on your diet when your emotional bandwidth isn’t taken up entirely by other things. I use ‘easier’ as a relative term, of course! Hope you have a clearer run on the way to Christmas.

tryingtobesogood · 10/11/2025 10:43

@NaivePrey that is interesting, I have been trying to get more exercise into my routine (and failing terribly). I think I need to pull my finger out and stop making excuses on this. I am, once again, 3 oz above the next stone, I am determined to lose this week, even if its only half a pound, that will change the stone number and give me a boost.

Bandwith is everything!

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 10/11/2025 14:44

3oz is just rude @tryingtobesogood - will be willing for the magic number to come up on the scales
