Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

I think I'm going to do the same as you @TryingMJ weighing on Friday morning and taking the jab on a Friday night. I've managed to resist going on the scales so far.

I am also taking mine on a Friday so if I have any issues I have the weekend to feel better.

I have just got on the scales let just say that small cat may be gone by week 2

I think I'll try weighing on a Friday too. The weekend is where things seem to come undone for me so hopefully it'll focus me in time for that.

Sleepeazie · 04/03/2025 08:17

I’m a daily weigher. I’ll have jabbed my first pen 48 hours ago this afternoon. I’ve lost 2.1 lbs (down to 12.3:6).

I have heavily fluctuating weight anyway (think I’m insulin resistant after gestational diabetes and in peri on HRT) - I was on a high point before I started mounjaro, so this is probably (at least partially) a natural downturn.

When I got on the scales to take my photos for my prescription, last Thursday evening, I was 12.10!

anyway, I feel a bit constipated today and I woke feeling a little hungry - but my coffee has sated it. This led me to realise that I never allow myself to feel hungry any more… I think I was scared of the low sugar incidences I was having. This really feels like a chance to reset and reframe my mind. I’m so grateful for mounjaro.

sorry I’m a waffler 👋

MrsMariaReynolds · 04/03/2025 08:41

Before MJ, I got used to weighing myself on Sundays. But since I've declared Thursday as my jab day, I'll start doing that instead. Two more days---is it weird that I'm excited to step on the scale?

Pre-2025 me would run for the hills if anyone put the scales in front of me! 😁

Flamethrowers · 04/03/2025 08:44

Third day in. Yesterday est modestly and felt full. Woke up not hungry, blostrd and with sulpher burps. Yuck! Google says this is a side effect! How do others cope?

soupforbrains · 04/03/2025 08:56

I'll be weighing in on Saturday mornings at the same time I do the jab.

I jabbed last week in the evening but I think doing it first thing when my stomach is more empty will be better.

I will be trying to weigh in just weekly. Because I have a tendency to obsess over tiny fluctuations (in a bad way) if I do it more than that. However I couldn't resist a look at the scales this morning and I'm 4lb down since Saturday which is a bit mad. (I'm sure a lot of it is due to the sickness I had at the weekend too so no expectations for that on a weekly basis)

OkyDoke · 04/03/2025 09:16

I'm not sure when to use as my official weigh in day - my first jab was Saturday afternoon, I took my weight Sunday morning and am going from that, so probably Sunday morning!

I am 3.2lbs down since Sunday so far.

Would love a good loss this week before 2lbs a week in an ideal world!

Edited

My friend who has been on it a while told me to avoid red meat, onions and garlic cut down on and have an actimel a day to help your gut. Also chew food slowly and have smaller meals (but more often).

Choirgirl699 · 04/03/2025 10:08

Morning! Joining this group. I actually ordered my pen before Christmas when I was 13 stone. I lost 8lb through being ill and dieting in January but then lost my mojo in February. Finally plucked up the courage to jab (husband did it!) on the 1st March so here I am.

March SW 12st 6lb
GW 10st 6lb

Side effects have been minimal. Dry mouth and very thirsty mostly. Yesterday I felt odd, like I was getting ill and very tired. After a nap I was fine. I never nap in the day!

Suppression felt Sunday but kicked in properly yesterday. I'm pleased that I'm still hungry coming up to a meal but I'm getting full before I've eaten half. Food noise has disappeared which is a massive relief!

I always said I'd just use this one pen but I'm tempted to do 3 months at 2.5mg if the food noise stays away and I lose consistently.

Anyone else just feel an overwhelming sense of relief due to escaping food noise?

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/03/2025 10:27

Week 1
SW 84kg
GW 62 kg
Ist jab was on Sunday ... not sure that I am noticing anything yet symptoms wise although as reported above I didn't go for my usual glass of wine last night

TryingMJ · 04/03/2025 10:36

Sounds like there’s a few of us Friday weighers.

Will anyone be tempted by pancakes today for shrove Tuesday…? My two DC had some for breakfast but I wasn’t tempted!

Spondoolie · 04/03/2025 11:31

Finally starting to feel suppression

Week 2 day 3

thank the lord!

dancemom · 04/03/2025 11:34

Sunday jab and weigh here

Day 3, still got zero hunger

Did wake up with a headache that hasn't totally cleared but I'm upping my water intake

If this continues it will be amazing

MamaNewtNewt · 04/03/2025 12:39

I had the same quest feeling this morning and learning from previous days had a smaller breakfast. Less hungry by lunchtime today.

Last night I was surprised that I was not able to eat all of my pho.

Definitely eating lots less and much better. Drinking plenty of water too.

MrsAlwaysRight · 04/03/2025 12:48

Day 4 for me. Not really feeling hungry at all. Looking at all the treats I'd normally have and I don't particularly fancy any of them! Must drink more water though as definitely didn't have enough yesterday.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 04/03/2025 12:56

Can anyone recommend some scales, the one I have just normal ones, I want the all singing dancing one that provide a graph on my phone.
This will help as I have to put my glasses on to see my scales now.

I am drinking lots of water and have not even wanting food today, it’s only me thinking to myself that this is a strange feeling of not being hungry.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader Renpho scales are good for a reasonable price £25 ish quid on Amazon.

needtolose70lb · 04/03/2025 13:54

Work is on a bit of lull which is probably good because I am upping my walking a lot and knackered as a result. Haven't had any bad side effects and still getting hungry but at normal meal times only which is unheard of.

Getting the protein in is a bit tough. I hate milky drinks or flavoured stuff like that so no protein drinks for me to top up food. I have a super high protein target because of the high weight. I am weighing every day because that's worked best for me before - i get to see the fluctuations and then just take the lowest of that week. Does anyone have any other options? I eat cheese, chicken, yoghurts etc.

No snack urges and i don't even start fancying food until at least 11.30. That's very new for me.

Flaitch · 04/03/2025 14:16

Done! Been thinking about it since it arrived on Saturday! It was so easy and pain free!

Weighed again this morning, but for some reason my scales wouldn't set to st/llbs. So had lost 1/2llb since Sunday 😁. @TheSpoonyNavyReader I've just ordered the tempo scales off Amazon for £19.99 as it seems mine are not playing ball.

Flaitch · 04/03/2025 14:18

@TheSpoonyNavyReader sorry typo
Renpho scales.

GameOfJones · 04/03/2025 14:40

@needtolose70lb I also don't like shakes but I just ordered a sample pack of different flavours of the clear whey protein (from MyProtein or on Amazon.) It's like a fruity flavoured juice, you just mix a sachet with water in a shaker bottle or blender. I thought that would be a good option and also get fluids into me, they're 20g protein per serving so very decent. I figured with a pack of samples I could see which juice flavours I like. So far I've tried orange and mango and that was fine....tasted a bit like still lucozade. Some of the others are apple, grape, pineapple, mojito and strawberry and kiwi.

I don't work for them I promise 🤣 but thought it may help someone else!

My first pen and kit has arrived so I've put it into the fridge. I'll jab on Sunday but I'm trying to get into good habits this week in preparation. I am having pancakes later for dinner with DDs though....but have limited myself to two with some bacon as my dinner and not a full stack like I'd usually have.

TriangleLight · 04/03/2025 14:44

@needtolose70lb try collagen powder for protein: it’s clear and tasteless and you can just mix into drinks. Hot or cold. I just used to mix it with squash

Protein yoghurts in the pouches? I’ve just had one 20g of protein and was okish to taste. Left me full though 😵 which would have been impossible before!

needtolose70lb · 04/03/2025 15:23

Thanks @GameOfJones @TriangleLight and @Lollzi86 Really appreciate the suggestions.
Already loving the protein yoghurts in pouches and they have become my go-to for breakfast. I really don't like flavoured drinks at all but the colourless/flavourless collagen powder sounds good. Do you recommend any brand or shop in particular?

Protein ideas. And eat much more than you’d think

** the best protein sources are fish, white fish, tuna, crab, prawns, smoked haddock. Yellow stickers are your friend to save you from going bankrupt! Also venison steaks, pork, lean meat. Turkey rashers or bacon medallions are good for breakfast, maybe in a pitta with tomatoes. Light babybels. Gammon steaks are also great for calorie/protein goodness. Make chilli or bolognese with turkey or pork mince and everyone will eat it, it’s good! Also doner seasoning packets, I get them from Amazon, and make kebabs with turkey or pork mince, 0% Greek yoghurt, salad in pittas or wraps

Just putting this back up
