Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Is anyone particularly focusing on weight bearing activity? This is where I want to try and start, I'd really like to get strong and my weight means at the moment I find cardio stuff pretty miserable so I thought I'd try and get some muscles first! Burn more calories with it too when I do get round to doing proper cardio.

Day three and I just feel full all the time, as though I’ve just eaten a big meal or just had a binge. I wasn’t sure how it would work for me because I always said to my partner “well I don’t binge because I’m hungry, I binge because chocolate/crisps/cake/cheese tastes nice!” Before it didn’t matter if I was stuffed full from a meal, I would still be having dessert- I wasn’t hungry, but I wanted the taste. These last few days since I’ve started, I wouldn’t say it’s taken food noise away like others have said- I’m still thinking about food, thinking “ooh that looks delicious” etc but I’m able to stop myself from binging, or even “having a little nibble” (which is how it often started). On the one hand I’m thinking “well it’s because I’m making the effort to be more mindful so I’m consciously trying not to binge/mess up and that’s why it’s working” but then again I’ve tried that before time and time again and always fallen back so there must be something to the jab- whether it’s a bit of placebo alongside, it doesn’t matter what it is, if it works!

ShineyGreen · 03/03/2025 15:03

Hello @Overjiggly, I absolutely know where you're coming from about being scared it won't work. This really is my last resort to help me lose weight and keep it off and if it fails, well I don't know what.

Any of the other ADHD people here have trouble with interoception? i.e. interpreting signals from our bodies. I very rarely feel full, I must be at some point but I just can't identify what that feels like and so I'm super worried that I will never get the feeling on the jab either!

Overjiggly · 03/03/2025 15:12

Hi @ShineyGreen yes I definitely want to focus on strength exercise I have some kettlebells collecting dust so I will dig them out. I also love a bit of yoga.

I'm brilliant at starting exercise/diet but struggle to stick with it. I'm hoping the jabs will help me change this pattern.

Flamethrowers · 03/03/2025 16:07

Didn't eat till 2.30 and then had a massive and delicious bowl of yogurt and fruit and granola. Enjoyed it more than normal weirdly. Slightly dreading supper as can't imagine being hungry! Nausea gone.

Hi, I was on the February thread but my order took so long to come I haven’t started yet 🙈 I have a night out tonight, so will start tomorrow or Monday, though I have a busy week so am concerned about sides effects. But it’s now or never!

I’m 111 kgs, tall and muscly so it’s been easy to let the weight creep on so that my BMI is now 37 🙈 And a knee problem.

Wine is my downfall as I exercise a lot and eat relatively well. Will calorie count and watch portion size and hope it all helps!

Are you me??!! Seriously, very much the same here.

Please can I join you all? Took my first one injection on 27th Feb so halfway through my first week.

SW 17s 3.4lb
TW 12s 4lb to finally get in to a healthy weight BMI but would secretly love to see 11 again.

5f10in and sometimes feel like my girth measurement is about the same 😩

So basically 5 stone. Or 70lb. Hence the new username.

i have some health issues, am perimenopausal, high blood pressure, polycystic ovaries and just desperate to stop feeling so revoltingly fat. I cannot do this on my own and I’ve tried so many times to do so. I often drop a stone or even two but then bounce up that much again and another stone on top. It’s horrible.

Not feeling anything dramatic yet except for one thing. I completely forgot to drink wine over the weekend. This is insane to me. I always want to drink wine. I think about drinking wine from about 5pm on weekends and by weekends I mean Thursday to Sunday inclusive. I just didn’t remember to do it. I didn’t think about it. If that stays then this will be worth the investment alone!

This is exactly how I feel - I can look at a chocolate and think “nice but no thanks”. Unbelievable! I also wonder if it’s because I’m believing in the jab and it’s a placebo… but as you say it doesn’t matter if it’s altering my eating habits. I fail to see how 2.5mg of a little liquid can stop me feeling hungry but so far it has… true magic!

GameOfJones · 03/03/2025 16:14

Hello all, can I join you please? I've just been approved so am expecting my first pen in the next couple of days. My plan is to jab on Sunday evenings as I don't work on Mondays if I feel dodgy afterwards and I like the idea of starting the week fresh and having had my dose.

I'm late 30s and 14st 3lbs, with high cholesterol. My back and knees are starting to hurt. I have lost and regained the same stone for at least the last couple of years and need to sort it once and for all. My goal weight is 11st, maybe 10st 7lbs but I can't even imagine being that low a weight I've been stuck at my current weight so long.

I am already an intermittent faster so am planning on keeping that up and sticking to two meals a day. But I need to tackle the amount I eat and I'm hoping to use mounjaro as a way of training me into good habits. We will see how it goes.

Lollzi86 · 03/03/2025 16:41

I’ll join too please. Took first jab this morning feeling okay. Went for a walk on lunch and intend to do another at 5 to get up to my 10k steps as I need to exercise more but that’s a start! Barely do 5k most days 😂 so progress is progress. Have about 4 stone to lose if not more. But first goal is 2 months off by mid June so fingers crossed!

Welcome aboard the Mojo train, to all the new posters.

I am aiming for 5 kg by the end of March or in other ways of looking at it a domestic cat!

My dog weighs just under five kilos 😂 I’ll aim for that

MamaNewtNewt · 03/03/2025 17:59

How are you feeling now @soupforbrains? Hopefully you are in the mend.

I felt queasy again this morning, but thankfully have not been sick. I struggled to finish my breakfast (Greek yoghurt, pomegranate, walnuts and honey) but I was really hungry by lunchtime. Managed to eat ok and not snack and making a healthy choice for tea. So I don't think I'm really having my appetite suppressed, but the food noise is low.

ShineyGreen · 03/03/2025 19:29

I love the idea of measuring our weight loss in cats 😂

@MamaNewtNewt and all others yes I am on the mend and feeling much better.

I ate 3 dry crackers at around 11am today and then had a snooze. The combo seemed to do the trick so then I've tried to make myself eat a tiny bit every few hours so as to just keep my digestive system ticking over. I had a grilled chicken mini fillet at 2pm then some grapes at about 5 and I just had some rice and veggies. Although they are portions a dormouse would scoff at. I made what would normally have been a meal period of rice and veggies and I think I've probably got about 5 meals still left!

I am feeling far less queasy and am not experiencing any gurgling from the stomach region so I'm hoping for a more peaceful night.

I'm on my way to bed now. Which is a bit mad. But I don't think the tiredness is because of the mounjaro itself but more because I barely got any sleep with all the illness last night.

In other news my collagen cream and liquid shots arrived today. I shall wait until I'm more confident of my digestive system before I try the shots but I've used the cream all over this evening after my shower instead of my usual body lotion.

Probably a collossal waste of time and money but at least I'll have done everything I can to reduce the chance of loose skin.

Restart for me , lost three stone last summer but stopped taking it as it was discovered I had a pelvic mass and dealing with that and subsequent extensive hysterectomy overtook need for losing weight really. Started back on lastnight , I’m actually down a further half a stone post surgery and now would like to lose a further two stone

HuskyNew · 03/03/2025 21:04

I've just ordered my pen!! So excited. Been contemplating for months but finally bitten the bullet. Fed up of waking up every day tired and hating what I wear.

I did some blood tests with Thriva which confirms there's nothing wrong with me bar slightly low B12 and Iron. So no bloody excuse for feeling so shit - it must be the weight. It needs to go.

Starting weight 75kg (BMI 30.2)
Goal weight - let's start with 65kg and see how it goes.

Agree with this. I usually manage one session a week, hoping to up this to 3.

TryingMJ · 03/03/2025 21:52

Got a bit of heartburn/indigestion sort of feeling tonight. Honestly just feel like I’m really full as though I’ve had a huge meal, even though I haven’t. I had protein yoghurt with a few berries for breakfast. Cheese cucumber and lettuce in a bagel thin and a packet of low cal crisps for lunch. Light babybel and an apple for a snack. Half a packet of filled fresh pasta for dinner. Adds up to around 1100 calories.

WithTheFairies · 03/03/2025 21:53

Hi everyone, I'm hoping I can join in too please. I took my first jab last Tuesday so onto my second tomorrow. I've lost 2.5kg as of this morning, been slightly constipated, but had no other symptoms beyond appetite suppression. Long may that continue! I feel nervous about side effects hitting at any moment...

Sw: 83kg
Cw: 80.45kg
Gw: 63kg

yikesanotherbooboo · 03/03/2025 22:12

I jabbed last night and have had a vague headache today. I ate a normal meal this evening but didn't snack all day and ,more surprisingly, didn't even consider a glass of wine.I'm sorry some of you have been sick, hopefully it's acclimatising. I will weigh tomorrow, dreading it!

Justformounjaro · 04/03/2025 00:12

Day 3 and I’m not sure if I have any overwhelming appetite suppression going on. I’ve eaten two fairly normal meals (standard for me) albeit I wasn’t drawn to snack. So I’m left wondering if it’s placebo, willpower or Mounjaro.

I’ve been doing a bit of exercise every day and 40 squats whilst I’m brushing my teeth at night.

TryingMJ · 04/03/2025 06:44

When is everyone’s weigh in day going to be? Mine will be Friday mornings to get my official weekly loss (have been doing a few cheeky mid week weigh ins too- couldn’t resist!). So my first official weigh in will be this Friday, 7th March. Then I’ll take my second jab on the Friday night.

MamaNewtNewt · 04/03/2025 07:29

I think I'm going to do the same as you @TryingMJ weighing on Friday morning and taking the jab on a Friday night. I've managed to resist going on the scales so far.
