Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

really cheering to see all the losses - everyone is doing so well

Wk1 d3 (jabbed wed night) and couldn’t resist a weigh in

Sw 82.6
CW 81.4
Interim goal Easter 77
Goal weight 54kg

1.2kg loss - don’t care if it’s water - it’s motivating!

been fantasising this morning about clothes shopping :)

had a horrible headache which has now gone so hoping can get the benefits without the side effects for a couple of days :)

HuskyNew · 15/03/2025 10:06

@Pipsballoon solidarity with the overthinking, but really - you’re over thinking!

1lb is neither here nor there now. You’re going to lose STONES on this journey and whether that pesky lb counts for this week or next week; it doesn’t matter in the long run.

just keep going

I'm now counting down the days until I start. Keep getting support emails from my provider so it's feeling real now! Original plan was to jab yesterday but I've got a big week at work next week that I can't be ill for so I'm planning on next Fri evening but DH has just announced he'll be out that evening so now in worried about doing my first jab when I'm in sole charge of 4dc! Maybe I'll wait until next Saturday morning but then we are out on Saturday afternoon and I don't want to be ill for that. Maybe I'm overthinking this 😂

Honestly I think just get started! You’ll always have “something” to deal with the following week. If you jab now any side effects will probably be over by Monday. And you might not even get any.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 15/03/2025 10:12

@Fatmumslim01 I'm with you on the overthinking! My pen arrives today, but I'm leaving ut til after my walk with friends tomorrow as I don't want to feel crap for that. I only have 2 dc but single parent, so worrying about being wiped out by it. Fingers crossed for no side effects!

HuskyNew · 15/03/2025 10:14

I’m feeling pretty normal this morning. Relived that being too full before bed last night didn’t have any catastrophic effects!

Possibly even feel a bit more refreshed than normal, I’m going to do a gym work out before eating anything. Staying away from the scales , maybe will weigh tomorrow am as a half way point through the week.

Can those who have been doing this a few weeks advise on if the side effect profile stays the same each week? Ie this week I jabbed Weds night & felt rough on Thurs. If that pattern continues I really need to jab Mon or Tues evenings so I’m WFH the next day. Maybe I’ll do a 6 day week this time and see what happens.

BeaTwix · 15/03/2025 10:26

I wasn't going to type one of these posts but here I am.
I injected on Wednesday. This morning I've just failed to make myself eat a protein rich yogurt ahead of my regular pilates class.
I simply am not hungry.

This is very very odd for me and has been the case since I injected.

I baked for colleagues and some of the cake was left. It is still sitting in the tin. This has never happened before.

I'm feeling more positive about managing to lose a lot of weight (I weigh daily - a noom habit - and know I've lost some already but official weigh day is Monday)

I definitely recommend getting some high protein pudding pots from the supermarket. Either the Arla ones or the ones from Lidl. They should be 20gm protein and between 95-220 calories depending on the pot. I find they really hit the spot when I want something sweet but also load on the protein and so I feel good for having them. That mindset shift is so important because I am not restricting sweet but also eating well!

The nestle lindhal protein deserts are good too. 83 calories and 15g protein. I like the raspberry one tastes a bit like raspberry ripple hahah x

@HailMary1988 @ShineyGreen ah this is great! Hopefully we can motovate each other. I can hardly believe I'm 17st.when I see it written down I'm pretty horrified.

Disappointed mine hasn't been dispatched. Are there delays with medexpress atm?

Not mounjaro twins. We are mounjaro triplets! This is the last time we will see 17st on the scales - I am sure of it.

I don't have any suppression really and I'm still hungry. I can just put it to back of mind and get on with other things. The thoughts aren't ruling my behaviour. I suppose that must be a reduction in food noise.

vickypathsofglorysea · 15/03/2025 10:49

Hi there - just started my journey with my first injection yesterday. I am fat, have sleep apnoea and this is my last attempt to lose weight. Really looking forward to being able to offer and receive some support on this slightly nerve wracking journey,

SW - 16s 2lb
GW - 10 s

Hi I am getting my pen delivered tomorrow but am away next Saturday for 2 days and am thinking of not starting until next Sunday so don't have risk of symptoms when we will be at a football match and shopping, but desperately wanting to start! Do you think If I jab this Sunday I will be symptom.free by next Saturday?

I waited a few weeks and regretted it.
No symptoms apart from headaches but I don’t drink enough water during the day at work.

LennyLooo · 15/03/2025 11:44

Week 1 is complete and I've lost 6Ibs. On the whole, I have felt fine, with a couple of bouts of feeling a bit seasick here and there but nothing too bad. Good energy levels. Good suppression and minimal food noise.

Please to be on this journey with all of you.

SW: 88.9kg
CW: 86.1kg
GW: 65kg

TryingMJ · 15/03/2025 12:32

Is anyone else keeping their pen in the fridge the whole time? I understand that it needs to be kept in the fridge until you take the first jab but then after than it doesn’t need to be refrigerated any more. But is it detrimental to keep it in the fridge the whole time? I’ve been keeping it in there so far, it’s just easier to have one place it’s always kept. But if it affects it to keep it in the fridge for longer then I’ll move it!

AgnethaF · 15/03/2025 12:44

Can I join? First jab yesterday. Not noticed anything different so far. Not sure what to expect tbh….

Starting Weight 14.11
Target Weight 10.7

Hoping for a miraculous transformation!

I am.

The instructions I read said that the 30 day expiry period doesn't apply if you do but don't know if that's true.

It's just easier for me to keep it there.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 15/03/2025 12:48

@HailMary1988 @ShineyGreen are you both in week 1? When did you jab? My pen has arrived just now. It's in the fridge, I'll jab tomorrow after my walk. I think Sunday p.m. Will suit too so that I can hopefully eat more normally on Saturdays.

mounjstarter · 15/03/2025 13:32

I had my first jab last night (2.5mg). I was nervous about it, but honestly didn't feel the needle go in at all. I injected in my (ample) belly fat. There's no mark or soreness where the needle went in.
Like some other pps, I have had migraines and IBS most of my adult life so was nervous about nasty side effects. It's very early days but I am pleased to say that so far, so good... no headache, no nausea, no stomach issues. I don't know if it helps with IBS, but I didn't suffer with loose bowels this morning as I often do. I slept very well too.
The weirdest thing is the lack of boredom eating! I'm having a quiet weekend at home and by now would normally have eaten all sorts of rubbish just for something interesting to do. I'm hoping this continues.
So far today I have eaten two eggs scrambled with smoked salmon and a high protein flapjack.
I'll probably have a plate of cottage cheese, tuna and veg for dinner later.
SW 94 kg
GW not sure. 75kg would be a healthy weight for my height (5'11) , but I can't imagine ever being that slim again.

mounjstarter · 15/03/2025 13:34

What apps are you using to track your weight? I don't have a Fitbit or anything like that, but it's really heartening seeing everyone's weight loss charts.

I'm using My Fitness Pal, it's free and it works. I don't like being fixated with calorie counting but as I'm so overweight I think I just have to accept I do need to do it, there's no other way for me.

seasidehunter · 15/03/2025 14:02

W1D6 for me.

I hadn't been sure that I was feeling suppression all week, just a lot of indigestion. But now I realise I must have had suppression, because it's definitely worn off! But that's okay - I've got a long run to do to tomorrow and this means I can fuel for it properly with a regular size meal tonight and a good breakfast.

Haven't weighed in all week, but will do it after my long run tomorrow.

Oh no @StoutOldTrout that's disappointing. Have you suffered with constipation? But, if you are genuinely in a calorie deficit, it WILL come off.

Hypothyroid here too. It's bloody awful.

Mrsp2b33 · 15/03/2025 15:01

Just placed my order! 14 stone 6lbs and 5 foot 9 1/2. Excited to see where this goes!

soupforbrains · 15/03/2025 15:26

I also a hypothyroid but it’s not prevented MJ from working for me. Hope you get some progress going forward.

Did my week 3 dose this morning and weighed in.

SW:19st10
CW:18st12
GW:11st10

so I’m 12lbs down in 2 weeks. I’m amazed. Especially as I didn’t expect my week one weight loss rates to continue into this week.
starting to get really excited about how far this journey could take me. I’ve got a holiday booked for early July and at this rate I’ll be buying myself a new wardrobe even by then! I’d originally allowed myself 13 months to get to target weight (slightly arbitrary deadline of my birthday in April next year).

not feeling any side effects yet this time but usually for me they have appeared the day after my jab so I’ll see what happens tomorrow.
