Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

My toddler has laxido sachets, I had 2 this morning and some bran flakes. Finally went! So I know what I need to do next week if it happens again after my 2nd jab! Hopefully you get some relief soon.

Oh the prune juice has been working! Maybe a bit too well now! 😂😂😂

Dee70 · 14/03/2025 14:04

Hi all, hope everyone is feeling good, I am on day 3 and extremely fatigued, I just want to sleep all day. I have been lucky not to have any other symptoms but was wondering if anyone else is suffering with this tiredness

GameOfJones · 13/03/2025 17:33

Haha! I think I had about 250 ml....one of my DDs' little plastic IKEA cups. It worked within a couple of hours.

Pleased to report this is probably working a little too well now 😂😂

Has anyone else experienced an increase in their sweet tooth since starting? I'm 6 days in a 5lbs down, but I've wanted sweet food way more than I did before i started. I'm not sure if it's because I've been very active doing around 19000 steps a day

Are you making sure you are hitting 100g protein a day?

Can I be a late joiner please? I ordered yesterday, just waiting for dispatch. Was really hoping it would be quick so I can get started.

I'm 47, 5ft 7 and 17st. I've been slim and active for most of my life, gained weight around 5 years ago, lost over 3 stone then have just PILED it on since.

I have an underactive thyroid, anaemia, high blood pressure. I walk a lot and recently started suffering with plantar fasciatis. I also snore very badly I've read that mounjaro can help with the snoring abd PF so looking forward to those additional side effects

I'm really noticing how my weight is negatively impacting me. I feel do unwieldy and awkward, I even struggle to do my shoes up because of my stomach. It's awful.

Anyway, after months of deliberation, I've ordered snd sm looking forward to joining you.

TW 11st 7. I know I look good at this weight but just can't imagine it now.

Just seen your message - good luck with your journey. We are the same age, height and start weight - my Mounjaro twin! I would also be happy at the same GW, but I find it hard to imagine that now.

I'm feeling so optimistic that this will work. It's so encouraging seeing everyone's results so far.

I've just thought of another thing I am looking forward to - tucking tops in.

cmh18 · 14/03/2025 14:34

@Lollzi86
Yes I have my protein, I haven't been going over my calories or eating too little, and I've been losing weight, I just wasn't expecting to want sweet food so much, I've had a choclate chip flapjack and a chocolate muffin today 😂

Sleepeazie · 14/03/2025 14:43

@cmh18 i thank chocolate cravings can be a sign of magnesium deficiency. it could also be that chocolate cravings normally happen because magnesium is involved in blood sugar levels though, and mounjaro is acting on blood sugar levels - so maybe just a weird side effect?

Maybe try adding a magnesium supplement to your diet?

@HailMary1988 @Illbefinejustbloodyfine I am your triplet!
(Although just turned 49, but 5ft 7 and 17 stone so...can I please join the club? Good things always come in threes :) )

I am also a bit frightened about the amount of weight I need to lose, so I am trying not think about that at and just about whatever the next mini-target is.

@gameofjones@mumofmanydaughterofone
so the pen doesn’t ‘lock’ it’s the the actual plunger on the interior of the pen doesn’t move further than the 4th injection mark. Some people do what they call a ‘bonus dose’ but using a needle to extract the remaining fluid from the pen through the red rubber end.

MamaBanana12 · 14/03/2025 17:31

Hi all, I’ve had my second jab on Tuesday. I started 4th, and currently down 10lbs in that time. The thing is though my suppression is ridiculous, I went the whole day yesterday and ate nothing (I was at a very close funeral so it wasn’t on my mind)
I got up today, hadn’t eaten in probably 36 hours and got to 1pm and I still wasn’t hungry. I forced myself to eat something but yeah it’s weird even on a small dose, does anyone else feel this?

soupforbrains · 14/03/2025 17:40

@MamaBanana12yes this is exactly how I’ve been up until the last couple of days (I’m also week 2 but jab 3 is tomorrow)

I keep seeing people saying they eat 3 normal meals or ‘eat when hungry’ and that’s not at all how it’s been for me. I have had to set alarms for 5 times a day so that I remember to have something to eat in order to keep my system functioning and my body healthy. But if it wasn’t for that I just wouldn’t be eating at all. I also feel extremely full after just a mouthful l or two. And so the 5 times a day is so that I can eat enough. It just has to be spread across that many moments.

I have just had some delivered from Amazon to extract the 5th dose x

GameOfJones · 14/03/2025 18:00

@Lollzi86 I don't know whether to apologise or be pleased for you about the prune juice! 🤣

@soupforbrains that's useful to know about the bonus dose. I'm a bit nervous about using another needle to extract it but perhaps I need to do more research! It does seem a waste of money if there is still liquid in the pen and it's within the 30 days.

Flamethrowers · 14/03/2025 18:04

second week ended with third jab tomorrow and I'm definitely thinking about food again. Healthy food but food nonetheless. I might have to front load the weight loss to the beginning of the week.

MJones90 · 14/03/2025 18:15

@CatsChin how are you doing? I did my first shot today, at 1.75mg or 30 clicks. As I was terrified. Not sure how I feel, I was tired before it and now just feel a bit weird as well as tired still. I think I’m thinking about it too much. I’m still feeling like my belly is a bit hungry and am due dinner soon. So can’t see that it’s working yet, if I still feel same tomorrow I might use the other half of the dose and do another 30 clicks?! How have you been on half dose?

Lollzi86 · 14/03/2025 18:18

Definitely pleased I was getting a bit panicky but all good now! 😂

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 14/03/2025 18:18

@HailMary1988 @ShineyGreen ah this is great! Hopefully we can motovate each other. I can hardly believe I'm 17st.when I see it written down I'm pretty horrified.

Disappointed mine hasn't been dispatched. Are there delays with medexpress atm?

tryingtobesogood · 14/03/2025 18:24

Plant based protein yogurt - for those of you who are struggling to ‘go’ this went right through me this morning. Plus it was truly unpleasant. It tasted of burnt plastic.

but it did make me go!!!

Stinby · 14/03/2025 19:35

I’m joining (with a name change) as I’ve just had my first dose tonight.

I am 16.5 stone and only 5 foot 1. The other day I found an old weight watchers book from when I was 15. I’d written in that I was 9 stone 10 and I remember writing it, completely horrified that I’d got to that weight.

At this point I don’t even recognise myself anymore. I take stairs one at a time and playing with my toddler exhausts me. It’s got to the point that I am really worried about the health effects of not doing something about it.

I really hope that Mounjaro will help with stopping me thinking about food 24/7. That’s my biggest issue. “If you have a craving wait an hour” has never worked for me because I crave sweet stuff from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed.

It’s funny that one of the things really putting me off for ages was having to inject myself. After my c-section they gave me blood thinning jabs and I had to get DH to do it. They’d give me massive bruises and hurt. I was imagining the same sort of thing with this so I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I didn’t even feel the tiny needle go in at all and it was easy. I wish I’d known and started sooner but here we are.

I hope all the other March starters are doing well.

I’m definitely not experiencing a sweet tooth - completely the opposite as in I normally have a very sweet tooth and finish every meal, or have every coffee, with something sweet, but that is completely suppressed. For me, it’s the ideal position as I used to be like this through willpower, then met my DP who loves sweet treats and is a bit of a feeder, and 3 stone piled on. I hope that I can keep off the sugar after Mounjaro or just control my weight as I know it has gone up in steps after Christmas/holidays before.

PippaJJ · 14/03/2025 21:09

W1D2: Thursday injections - 2.5mg - thigh
BMI S/C: 66
Goal: to feel better
Suppression: appetite gone, still have food noise
Side effects: restless night, wind, burping all day, especially when moving. No 💩 today (unusual for me)
Kcalorie: tracking only, under mfp recommendation
Supplements: multi vit +mineral, vitd, biotin, peppermint gels

Need to figure out how to eat more protein. Protein shake for brunch. Only managed half of dinner (chicken egg rice veg), and struggled with the last third of that.
No meds taken for side effects.

HuskyNew · 14/03/2025 21:35

Week 1, Day 2 here.

Yesterday was hard - nausea, 1 episode of sickness and very tired.

Today has been better than yesterday. Reasonable suppression for most of the day. Had yogurt for breakfast and eggs/mushrooms for lunch. Made normal family dinner tonight. Smaller portion than normal, difficult to know how much to eat. I do feel a bit too full now, should have had less.

Hippobottymus · 14/03/2025 21:56

Welcome to all the newbies! I’m still a little bit in disbelief that 1. I’m on this journey and 2. It’s working so far.

I was talking to my other half this evening and he was saying that although he trusts me, he almost can’t believe that this is working so well, so quickly. He’s petrified of needles, but would’ve been tempted to start this himself, but like me he feels it sounds too good to be true.

I’m half hoping I can be his proof that it works, as I know he’s really struggling with his weight more recently.

I’ve just taken second dose (a day early as I’m trying to move my injection day to a Thursday) and feeling good so far. I’ve lost 2 inches, and 4.8lb since last week. But most importantly, I feel amazing!

TripleRocks · 14/03/2025 22:33

Day 2 here, and I'm still amazed. Today I've eaten a very small bowl of porridge with almond milk, a babybel, one piece of granary toast with marmite, homemade chicken and salad wrap. I've felt pretty much stuffed all day. I would say I've pretty much eaten half what I normally do or less, and it's been easy!

I'm learning to adjust my portion size and really pleased I started this now.
