Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

I cancelled my order on MedExpress as my order had still not dispatched after 3 days and I had friends order after me and theirs had all dispatched straight away.
I have now ordered through Chemist2U and paid for a bundle of 2.5 & 5 as it works out so much cheaper. I just got approved so waiting for my order to be dispatched!

Thanks for starting this support thread, and well done for 2 pound loss. Don't say 'only' a loss is still and loss and you are moving in the right direction!
Please can you share what protein options you buy from the shops as I need some protein inspiration please :)

I'm very blown away by how effective this actually is for me, I can't believe how easy it is to make healthy choices, and how much the food noise has been silenced. So I find myself wanting to test it, to push it a wee bit, see if it's my imagination, or is this really a wonder drug? I keep having thoughts today of going out and buying a box of chocolates and leaving them in the usual spot they would sit in, on the dining room sideboard, to see if I have truly changed that much. Not having cravings, just contemplating how effective and powerful this actually might be. Basically in the past, if said box of chocs was in the house, I would find myself visiting the dining room multiple times a day and having a sneaky one here and there, and low and behold, I would have eaten half a box in one day, and would usually polish them off on day two. It's rare for chocolate to last in this house.

Anyone else starting to test the limits of this voodoo major we're all befitting from?!!

Sleepeazie · 13/03/2025 12:01

@Pipsballoon my house if full of the usual crap for the teens and my OH and I’m just not interested. I think it’s a useful idea, to see if you can mentally overcome aswell as physically in the long term.

It does feel like voodoo though 💯 😂

Fairislesweater · 13/03/2025 12:25

2nd jab today. Lost 4lbs over first half of the 1st week then plateaued. I definitely noticed it wearing off yesterday. Feeling a tiny bit nauseous today. I have a PT session and gym induction tomorrow!

I also ordered from here - the despatch is quick, you should get it next day via Royal Mail, well packed with freeze pack in!

needtolose70lb · 13/03/2025 12:45

Hello everyone! Wow, so many posts to catch up on. That's fantastic. I wish you all the very best on this journey.

Today is weigh day and jab day for me - number 3.

I lost 2lb this week and 5/6 last week so not a huge huge dramatic loss and compares to any other start of diet that I have done but definitely happy to be going in the right direction.

Main side effects are a little bit of constipation so going every other day only, but that might also be because I am eating fewer carbs than I did so it might be normal to settle on that routine? I also get very cold and I am shattered quite early at night! Nothing worse than that.

The other side effect? Absolute no interest in alcohol. I battle with those thoughts of rewarding myself with wine at least 4 nights a week. I get cross if my husband suggests we cut back. I drink half a bottle each of those nights. Actually probably more as I am in charge of pouring the glasses and I definitley fill mine more than is. Embarrassing to admit. It is insane to me that those thoughts are just not there. If I make myself think about it then it's like trying to grasp those elusive memories of a deep dream you've just woken up from. No physical need at all.

I have natural hunger but not scavenger hunger. I don't feel uncomfortably full but I am also fine eating smaller portions and not being hungy later on. Which is amazing.

I had one day this week where I suddenly felt the noise come back and it was SUCH a shock. I have no idea why it happened and it disappeared the following day but it absolutely proved to me that this drug is pretty miraculous in turning off something I didn't realise I had.

It did make me struggle mentally, a bit, because it showed just how hard it is to lose weight with all the will power and determination in the world when your brain is fighting against you every second of every day.

If this carries on like this for me then I will be forever grateful.

Now I have to decide about going up to 5mg in two weeks or not.

ShineyGreen · 13/03/2025 13:23

@needtolose70lb I have decided that unless the next two jabs (3 and four, tomorrow and next Friday) provide me with something different I will be going up to 5. I still feel like I'm relying on willpower quite a lot and I know that this will wear off soon enough so I'd like not to get to that stage! I know what you mean about the loss being similar to that at the start of any other diet. Same here.

The complete irony of all of my dieting history is that when I started my very first diet on Slimming world at the age of 18, I was 11 stone 4 and wanted to get to 10 stone 4. Guess what my target is now? Pretty much 11 stone 4lbs 😂I was in a healthy weight range when I started ffs. 8 times I have lost weight and chocked it back on again plus more over 30 ish years. It's been a horrible 4 yearly cycle.

Honestly, I could have written your post! I think I did WW about 20 years ago and started at 12st 2lb and my target weight is now 12st 4lb. I hate that I didn't like myself enough then to realise what I had.

But this is a new start for both of us. We can do this. Slowly, surely and with medical help.

Fairislesweater · 13/03/2025 13:42

Is it in any way cumulative? I’ve had second jab today and wondering if this week will pan out exactly the same as last week or if things will change more. The slight nausea today was new I think

seasidehunter · 13/03/2025 13:52

Has anyone had lightheadedness? I'm on W1 D4 and have been fine up to now, but I was stood giving a presentation today and I felt quite light-headed. I don't think it is lack of calories because I've been focusing on getting 1400-1500 calories a day with a good amount of protein and I didn't have anything different for breakfast today to the other days. It was a bit embarrassing because I had to do the rest of the presentation sitting down.

I’ve had a bit today, but I think it was lack of food (was about to eat lunch. Had a light breakfast and would normally have been ravenous by then)

@needtolose70lb
I'm the same regarding alcohol. Such a nice side effect isn't it? I went from secretly worrying I might have a drinking problem to being completely put off any alcohol.

Yes! A very welcome and unexpected side effect.

@Lollzi86 I bought this prune juice and it worked almost a little too well!

I got it in Tesco but looks like Waitrose and Holland and Barrett also stock it.

i walked and got the exact same prune juice! I’ve had 150ml. What amount did you have and how soon ahem did the juice……..work if you know what I mean 😂😂

Yes it is cumulative, at least for the first few weeks (and first weeks of any increase in dose).

glp1plotter.com/ allows you to see this. The attached shows 2.5mg every week.

Glad to see others have the same side effect regarding alcohol. I’m the same and I’m so glad about it too.

Fatmumslim01 · 13/03/2025 16:19

I picked up my first pen today! Am feeling less nervous and actually quite excited by it, this may finally be my way out of obesity! My lowest weight as an adult was when I met DH (to be fair I was only 20) and I was 8 stone 11 I think, maybe 8 stone 9. (I'm only 4.11/5 foot depending on tape measure!)

Now 20 years on and currently 14 stone 8 that's almost doubled. Pre covid I was 11-6 and happy with my size although that's still overweight but then I piled it on in lockdown and it's never come off. I've tried slimming world a few times but I don't have the headspace for it.

I'm planning to do my first injection next Fri as next week I've got a few important things on at work and I don't want side effects if I do it this weekend so next weekend it is! Picked up my pen today along with my weekly shop that was weird I think it was the most expensive trolley ever 😂 pen is in the salad draw if fridge so DC won't find it 😂

So deep breath..

SW / CW 14-8 BMI 39.8
GW saying 11-6 (will be BMI 32) for now then will review

Dee70 · 13/03/2025 17:29

Took my first needle yesterday and was very nervous but today I feel that I will have to force feed myself because I have no appetite at all, woke up to a bit of nausea this morning and today I am so tired I have not been able to do anything but not getting any hunger pangs as yet, I will eat a bit later but it’s really hard when you don’t want to but have to, I have found ( maybe just me ) that my bottled water has suddenly started to taste strange, it is fresh and chilled and I have asked my husband to taste it and he insists it’s fine so it just seems that my taste is off, I will be buying some cordial tomorrow to add to it in the hope I can stomach it.

Haha! I think I had about 250 ml....one of my DDs' little plastic IKEA cups. It worked within a couple of hours.

GameOfJones · 13/03/2025 17:40

Regarding lightheadedness..... I've had that too. More so on day 3 I think. I was on a walk and felt a bit lightheaded. The sort of slightly spaced out feeling when you're coming down with an illness is the best way I have of describing it. It did pass though and I've not had it for the past couple of days.

I'm strangely excited to weigh myself in the morning. I've never been small, I was 10st 7lbs as a teenager and when I met DH I was 11st. Went up to 15st over the next few years, then down to 12st when I got married by doing slimming world. Slowly put weight back on after having DDs and stopping slimming world and put on even more during lockdown and went up to 15st 1lb. Down to 14st over the past year through intermittent fasting but I'm honestly sick of my weight yo yoing. I don't think I've been happy with my weight or felt confident in myself for about 15 years! I'm really hoping this sets me on a better path.

RuthEvershedforPM · 13/03/2025 17:50

Survived day one - still a horrible headache but happily haven’t wanted to eat. Genuinely surprised by instant impact. Was bored shitless at a conference but didn’t eat the pastries / reach for the booze so I think that’s a good test!

SmallSoupcon · 13/03/2025 18:07

I'm loving all these positive updates. Day 3 was considerably better than yesterday's vomity migraine, thank goodness. And I'm not interested in food at all which is amazing to me.

I got myself really organised today. Bought peppermint oil and ginger capsules, prepped some Greek yoghurt and fruit jars for breakfasts, chopped up a giant watermelon, and ordered a 2 litre bottle off Amazon to make sure I'm drinking enough.

Onwards and downwards!

To be honest 10 st sounds eugh to me but obvs better than my starting weight.
I was VERY slim as a teenager and up until my late twenties. Up until then I didn't have the food noise as we seem to be calling it now. I then had a really difficult time in my thirties and ate a lot and drank a lot , and that seemed to switch the noise on.
As a teenager I ate when hungry, then it became emotional eating and drinking I just want to stop eating and drinking for the sake of it and eat just when hungry again.

Fingers crossed any way I had egg salad for lunch and a small portion of home made fish and chips for tea , no dessert and no biscuits sweets or crisps...... Yet evening is the worst for me I eat cos I'm bored, so we'll see.
In the past few years I've realised I'm Nd so it's interesting to read PPS who have said other head noise has been switched off for them.

Okay I’ll have another 100ml and hope for the best as there’s been no action so far! 😂😂😂

Shalalalaboomboom · 13/03/2025 19:13

So had my first shot today, now feeling a little green.

Nothing too dramatic, just low level nausea like being pregnant (no I'm not 😅).

I've had under 1000 calories today and I feel stuffed! is this normal?
