Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

I started today too. Only told one friend.

I am hideously overweight (actually morbidly obese). Perimenopause has just been the final nail. I was a slim child/ teen but things got out of hand post university. I'm now late 40s. My prescription photos are an absolutely awful view.

So I'm giving MJ a go and think I'll be here for a long old haul. Sigh.

SW: too awful to type. BMI 39.9
GW - 73kg (BMI = 25)

Tormundsbeard · 13/03/2025 00:59

Just ordered my first pen!!
I think I will keep my decision to myself as I don’t want to be defensive about my choice.
i have about 3 stone to lose to get down to my ideal weight, a 2 stone loss would make me feel so much more comfortable about my body.

TryingMJ · 13/03/2025 06:55

Sorry for lack of posting, this group is moving so fast- it’s good that it is though! Lots of us together. I am following along reading everyone’s messages though. Just been busy at work, kids, life in general, you know!

Second weekly weigh in tomorrow, I have still been doing daily weigh ins and hoping if all keeps going well that I will officially be out of the obese BMI category and into the overweight one.

After my blip last week about “gaining” the day after weekly weigh in and jab that evening, I don’t think I could manage not to weigh all week but I’m wondering about challenging myself to a “no weigh weekend” 😁 Where I jab Friday night then don’t weigh Saturday and Sunday mornings to let my system calibrate then get back to weighing Monday morning. Maybe we’ll see!

Suppression is still good for me with one day to go until next jab. I’ve ordered my next pen- sticking with 2.5mg and sticking with MedExpress just because I have no idea how it works with switching providers- do you have to go through the whole process again, what about if you’ve lost weight with previous provider and no longer obese (but still overweight)?

Has anyone got really dry skin? My hands are so sore and cracked 😞 Suppression has been really good despite issue with 2nd injection so I assume a reasonable amount went in. I'm not particularly feeling hungry or thirsty so think I'm not drinking enough.

You have to make yourself drink plenty. My current supplier actually states when they send you the pen: "To reduce side effects please drink approximately 2.5l of water per day". I find adding some flavoured electrolytes helps me drink way more than plain water.

GameOfJones · 13/03/2025 07:26

@TryingMJ as far as I understand, you can switch providers if you have lost weight and your BMI is under 30 if you prove you have had prescriptions from elsewhere e.g. photographs of your medication box with your name on it.

I'm going to stick with my provider for another month as I have a referral code to use and then may do a price comparison with elsewhere.

Ballbagisnotmyname · 13/03/2025 07:57

First week done and I’ve lost 5lb! Appetite suppression was straight away, no side effects apart from a really dry mouth all week, according to the bmi calculator I’m now overweight and not obese! I’ve not told anyone I’m doing this, I bought a bundle deal with my pens - 2.5, 5 and 7.5 which are hidden in the fridge- just hoping no one spots them 😊

Morning all!
Jab #3 is done and dusted this morning 😊

Happy to report after last week's disappointing week one weigh-in where I was only down a pound, the whoosh fairies have blessed me with a 4.5 lb loss for week 2. I'll take it! So 5.5 lbs in two weeks so far.

Sleepeazie · 13/03/2025 08:38

@MrsMariaReynolds that’s fantastic, well done.

Suppression has eased a bit but... I went to the supermarket yesterday while I was out and had to grab some lunch while I was there. Usually I would have gone for sandwich crisps drink and chocolate (probably a share bag that wouldn't be shared) instead I craved pasta, houmous and fruit. It's such a strange concept that it has got rid of those cravings so quickly. I walked down the chocolate aisle in search of protein bars but not at all tempted.

Cheeky little weigh in this morning -3lb. I've never lost 3lb in a week nevermind 5 days. It feels like it has healed me. I don't have an upset gut, I'm regular, I'm sleeping better, I'm drinking more (but not peeing as much, has anyone else found this?), my brain is quiet. Long may it last!!!

Morning all

Grateful for the thread - understand on the not telling anyone - I told my husband (he has limited interest in my life but that’s another thread) and one friend who was a bit sceptical.

first jab last night and a headache this morning. - but that might be because I am heading to a conference which is only adjacent to my job and I don’t have a role so going to have to ‘network’ all day. Urgh

have a good day folks x

InvestingInMe · 13/03/2025 09:11

Good morning all, after what felt like such a long wait, my first pen arrived yesterday. I made the decision to join SheMed. I missed the intro promo but still think it’s worth it to be locked in for 12 months. I’m wanting to inject today. Could anyone please tell me if there’s a time of the day/evening that’s better to inject and also just what to expect please. 🙏🏼

That's amazing! I've lost 2 pounds since starting on Sunday. Hoping for at least 1 more pound by Saturday. I have an event on Saturday that involves food and drinking so weighing on Saturday morning, then 2nd jab Sunday.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 13/03/2025 09:51

Good morning all

Welcome to all the newbies, I can not name you all as there is so many. I started this thread as I was at rock bottom (sounds dramatic) but that is how I felt, I was/am the heaviest I have ever been, walking up a hill left me breathless, and I was officially obese. I had been thinking of taking MJ for months and wish I had not dithered for months.

I have a sneaky weigh in today and I have only lost 2 pounds, will let you all know what I am weigh tomorrow on jab day tomorrow. I have not had a great week and not drunk enough water or had enough protein. I am off to the supermarket and stock up on fruit and lots of protein.

Day 9 today, food suppression hit very strongly around teatime last night (had second jab yesterday morning) and total loss now of 10lb in 9 days. Very happy and practically ran to the gym this morning.
sw 114.4kg
cw 109.6kg

Oooooomph · 13/03/2025 10:09

I'm feeling really good - more energetic and very few side effects. I'm on Day 8, I took my 2nd jab last night. Appetite suppression from the first shot waned a teeny bit on days 5 and 6 but I felt I had more willpower than usual to say no to anything unhealthy. I wonder if this is how naturally slim people feel all the time.

SW - 121.8
CW - 117.5

Shalalalaboomboom · 13/03/2025 10:15

Just taken my first dose, can't believe how easy it was! didn't feel the needle at all

So had a shock when I weighed myself as I'm more than I thought I was but its strengthened my resolve and I know I'm on the right path.

SW 11st 10lbs
GW 9st 7lbs (may aim to go lower but will see how I look/feel when I get to my target).

Thanks everyone for the support and sending support out to everyone on this thread ☺️

mumofmanydaughterofone · 13/03/2025 10:21

official weigh in tomorrow but did a sneaky weigh today (can't resist) and I'm 189.8 lb - i know it's only a smidge under 190 but (I will only admit here) I cried - last time I was this weight was pre my son who is now a strapping 17 year old! Feels like this might genuinely be the answer.
I haven't told my family but have told them I think I want to do injections (if that makes sense) and they've all been super supportive so I've order my second pen and I'll let them think it's my first 😋- I was a bit worried about MedExpress supply issues I'd heard so much about so I ordered yesterday (next pen should start 27th March) in plenty of time and it's arriving today
Some amazing losses - here's to all having a slimmer healthier future!

ShineyGreen · 13/03/2025 10:30

@BeaTwix I have a similar amount to lose as you- lets lock in for the long haul and kick the ass out of our weight loss goals 💪I am trying to think about my "diet" (as in the food I eat, not what I should/shouldn't eat) as just another thing to tick off the list. And hoping that Mounjaro enables me to do this by removing the terrible distraction that food has always been in the past. I am always wondering what I can shove in my gob from the fridge next!

Or at least I was :) Hoping that food noise is what's meant by the fact that my default setting has always been "be eating something" but now it's not. Hurrah!

Welcome aboard the Mojo train, to all the new posters.

I am aiming for 5 kg by the end of March or in other ways of looking at it a domestic cat!

I weighed this morning and overall I have lost 4.5lbs so almost half a cat.

I wonder which half?

Oof I injected last night and I'm glad I'm not at a conference. Feel a bit sick & shakey. I was ok overnight & first thing & did PT session, but feel pretty rough right now

MrsMariaReynolds · 13/03/2025 10:47

Well done to everyone so far! Good luck to those just getting started on their "weight loss journey"--as twee as that phrase sounds 😁

RuthEvershedforPM · 13/03/2025 11:26

Sorry you feel rough - my head is banging but again conference is warm and a bit boring so might not be the MJ 😂

AddictedtoCrunchies · 13/03/2025 11:32

I found a positive for the side effects this week. I was playing netball on Tuesday night and had a cramp in.my stomach. I basically burped and farted for the entire match so the GK didn't want to go anywhere near me. We lost but I had a relatively easy match - every cloud eh? GrinGrin

TripleRocks · 13/03/2025 11:40

First proper day (I injected yesterday afternoon). I've had a small bowl of fibre granola and feeling like I've massively indulged at Christmas dinner! I assumed it must be in my head as very early days, but a friend has told me the appetite reduction was pretty instant for her too so wow, I'm very impressed (although feeling a bit too stuffed, so not very comfortable but still wow).
