Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Hi all I have just been approved but not wanting to start until the 23rd as have 2 busy weekends and don't want any side effects getting in the way ha ha loving keeping upto date on everyone's journeys xx

GameOfJones · 11/03/2025 16:22

@AddictedtoCrunchies it is very early days for me but your description is exactly what surpression feels like for me.

I can still eat meals but I just don't particularly fancy anything. Which means I have been able to make sensible choices because I'm just not that bothered about the food I'm eating. I can still tell that something tastes good but have found with a few meals I've not finished everything but more from a can't be bothered sort of feeling rather than a physical feeling of fullness. It is very strange!

@mumofmanydaughterofone I'm also considering counting clicks for a 3.75mg dose on a 5mg pen next time. I think you get an extra dose that way too? More because I want to avoid any side effects and increase dose gradually. I need to do more research though as I'm not sure exactly how that works but have seen talk of it on other threads. I will see how I go on 2.5mg though first I think as I'm only in week 1.

Potentially a strange question but is anyone nervous about losing too quickly? I started 10 days ago and have lost 5lb. It seems too much too quickly. I know it can come off quickly at first and then slow down but I can't imagine it's healthy for someone my size (currently 12st1lb, 5'4") to continue that rate of loss. I don't undereat and am aiming for 1300-1400 calories a day. I'd be happy with 1-2lb a week! Anyone the same?

I lost 6lbs in my first week but didn't expect that to continue. Settled down at 1-2lb/week. So many people report similar. That first loss includes the water loss that you get initially with any restrictive diet.

It’s here! I’ve got a big presentation at work tomorrow so I’ll start Thursday morning. Exciting and scary.
I still don’t really believe it will work for me as I’m so used to counting calories and seeing no drop.

Loveab123 · 11/03/2025 18:40

I've been pretty hungry today, only on day 3. I have still managed not to snack (apart from on fruit) or overeat. I think I'm more worried of the side effects if I do! No side effects today really apart from a bit of bloating and slight constipation. I forgot to take my magnesium last night so that's maybe not helped. I am going to have a small bowl of bran flakes before bed. I'm sitting at 900 calories so have room to eat a bit more so will focus on fibre. If it continues tomorrow I have some of my toddlers laxido there I will use!

SmallSoupcon · 11/03/2025 18:46

My first pen arrived today. I did the jab at lunchtime and I've been freezing cold and tired all afternoon.
I'm not sure if it's to do with the Mounjaro, or just because I'm freezing cold and quite tired!
Either way, I'm excited to see what happens.
I'm 15st3, heaviest I've ever been in my life, and feel horrible in myself. I'm hoping to lose 3 stone.

Sweetlikeblueberries · 11/03/2025 19:07

Hello can I join too please!

I bought my pen in February but it sat in my fridge for 3 weeks while I plucked up courage to take it.
I did Saxenda a couple of years ago and lost quite slowly but then as I went up the doses I had the most horrendous sickness, the worst I’ve ever felt and was sooooo scared to start mounjaro because of that. I’m extremely prone to nausea and have a lot of minor tummy issues a lot. Ive done a lot of research on microdosing and have started off very slowly
15 clicks on Saturday at 6pm. I worked out this is 1/4 of a usual weekly dose, so I took the next dose 1.75 days on.

20 clicks on Monday at 12pm. 1/3 of a week’s usual dose so I’ll take the next dose 56 hours later.
Doing 30 clicks on Weds at 8pm.
have a schedule to go up to a 2.5mg and on slowly from there.

im happy to take the risk of the pen being open a little longer than usual and storing in the fridge.

I know I’m a wuss but I’ve read so much about being violently sick after the first dose and I just was too scared to start straight off and have to be ill for a whole week.

despite this being a very low dose I had excellent suppression from Saturday evening, had worn off on Monday and didn’t get much suppression Monday afternoon/evening but kicked in again today.

have a mega headache but I’ve been eating low calorie and healthy since I started due to fear of my usual foods making me sick so that may be sugar withdrawal!!

I have four stone to lose to get to healthy weight

Changingplace · 11/03/2025 20:21

Took my first dose on Sunday, have felt strangely unhungry all day.

Had a couple of cups of tea this morning but didn’t fancy breakfast, had a tin of chicken noodle soup at lunch, normally I’d want a crusty buttered roll with it but was fine just with the soup, and then had a bowl of pasta for dinner.

Overall no urges to snack which is good, and no side effects to mention either.

Early days but going well so far!

TryingMJ · 11/03/2025 20:26

I’m going to stick to the 2.5mg for another month I think. Just looking at when to order now. Does anyone know if I order it sooner rather than later will it be ok sitting in the fridge for a bit? As I still have 2 more doses left in the current pen. But there were delays getting this first pen to me so I’d rather get the next one on order so there no potential gap if there are still delays (MedExpress).

MJones90 · 11/03/2025 20:57

@CatsChin I’m thinking of doing this! I read some people had big effects on 1.75mg and stayed on that for months.. I also normally react strong to things (I’m hoping this is actually true this time round for this!!) but in case I have some horrid effects I was going to do 1.75mg and then 2.5mg if all okay the week after..do you feel anything yet? X

Overhaul54 · 11/03/2025 21:04

Didn't think about dosing myself. Might get the 5ml pen and then I could do 2.5ml myself it didn't agree with me?

tryingtobesogood · 11/03/2025 22:11

Just did my week 2 injection. I lost 3kgs this week, curious to see what happens next week.

YellowHedgePig · 12/03/2025 04:33

Starting mine on Friday with the jab around 7pm, hoping to do it the same time as my wife but she is having some difficulty having the order confirmed because of the photos. She definitely falls into the BMI category and all the other questions

tryingtobesogood · 12/03/2025 06:51

One week down and what I’ve learned so far:

  1. i can eat what I want, but what I want has changed. I don’t want sugary, carb laden food. I want fruit and veg most of the time.
  2. it’s hard to eat that much protein
  3. water is no longer optional
  4. injecting before bed, whilst makes for a restless night due to side effects, means I wake up with food suppression and feeling good
  5. That things can be different, and at some point in the near future I will be slimmer.

im looking forward to the week ahead, i think its going to be a good one.

RuthEvershedforPM · 12/03/2025 07:35

Just re signed up to MFP based on reading thread and that calorie counting might also be helpful. Belt and braces etc.

pen should arrive today and feeling pretty hopeful of some change

poppysocks81 · 12/03/2025 07:40

@tryingtobesogood I'm the same, 2nd jab last night and had a 3kg loss. Suppression definitely wore off a bit yesterday and so I did eat more than previous days but nowhere near what I used to eat! This morning's breakfast has been fruit and yoghurt which would usually have me wanting a piece of toast or something more substantial but I feel satisfied! Have to start thinking about my next order now!

northernlight20 · 12/03/2025 07:57

2nd dose done. Hopefully a better week than last week

northernlight20 · 12/03/2025 07:59

Does anyone else have a sugar taste in the mouth straight after jabbing? Happened after the 1st one but I assumed it was in my head. But, it’s just happened again after the second jab.

Ditto. 5 4 and started at 11.10. Lost four pounds in first nine days. But I am not eating much carbs really (pasta bread) and I think that means I'm retaining less water. I'm expecting the loss to slow down and I'm making sure I eat at least 1000 calories.

Wouldratherbewatchingmafs · 12/03/2025 08:24

First weigh in for me today!
Loss of 5.5lbs. Thrilled!
I would say I had food suppression up until yesterday mid afternoon. Jabbed again just now.
Am now 4.5lbs off moving from the obese to the overweight range. Hoping to get that ticked off in the next couple of weeks.
Will make a judgement about whether I go up a dose after this week I think x

MountainQueen · 12/03/2025 08:33

First week done, 4lbs off. Still find it difficult to believe the weight is just coming off. Is it too soon to be looking for new clothes that will fit me in the nearest future? 😄

RuthEvershedforPM · 12/03/2025 09:30

Not too soon Mountain Queen - I think it’s all part of the motivation ❤️

seasidehunter · 12/03/2025 09:48

Week 1 Day 3 for me - I 'think' I'm feeling some suppression but its not how I thought it would feel. I'm definitely not getting the 'not fancying food' type of suppression - I can think about food and how lovely it tastes. I'm sat at work now and am still having to stop thoughts about going to the shop and buying a bag of sweets to get me through the morning. I am still looking forward to what I'm going to cook for dinner tonight and the takeaway I've promised my son at the weekend.

But, I am finding that eating less of a meal is enough and, interestingly, I'm not getting the ups and downs of 'hunger' that I usually get. I'm pretty sure I've always had quite volatile blood sugar levels. Normally, if I'm slightly late with a meal then I feel lightheaded and nauseous to the point I can't concentrate and eating sugary foods also does the same! I'm not getting those sensations - I've had a Fuel breakfast drink and a coffee this morning and I feel fine, whereas normally I'd be feeling really lightheaded if that is all I'd had for breakfast.

Also... I've just got unrelenting indigestion burps (luckily not sulphur/eggy)... and that makes me feel like I don't want to eat too... so its working in that respect!

28Spring · 12/03/2025 09:51

Hi Everyone! So glad I found this thread as I haven't told anyone else I'm on this journey, I'm just so worried it's going to be yet another weight loss attempt that fails for me; 45 now and been yo yo dieting since I was 17, so exhausted of thinking about food and diets and my body image ALL the time, I just hope it works for me like it's working for so many of you - I just can't imagine a world where I am not always consciously trying to supress what I eat or thinking about how I'm going to lose the weight.

Took my first jab about 30 mins ago...wish me luck! And thank you for starting this thread @TheSpoonyNavyReader it will be such a great support for me - much appreciated! xxx

@tryingtobesogood my first weigh in is tomorrow but yesterday I found myself thinking about food again. Not like the chocolate and biscuit cravings I usually have but just on my mind.

So, I thought about my protein I’d had and def not enough but I’m only eating a small bfast now, smoothie and small dinner so going to have to look at increasing my protein.

I just can’t believe how it feels to be able to get on with my day and it not revolving around food and will power not to snack. I feel a sense of freedom I’ve never known before.

I’ll check in tomorrow evening after I weigh in and do my 2nd jab.
good luck everyone x
