Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Week 1 weigh in today, 4.6 lbs down and that’s with drinking quite a bit of alcohol at a friends party on Saturday, which I never normally do.

has anyone developed mouth ulcers as a side effect? I literally haven’t had an ulcer since I was a young child, but all of a sudden tonight it feels like up getting one on the base of my mouth.

I did have a mouth ulcer around the time of my first jab. I just thought I was coming down with something (I never did) But I haven't had anything after my 2nd jab last week. Although some suppression would be nice... 😁

MamaBanana12 · 11/03/2025 11:26

First week done.
Weigh in - 7lbs off.
1 inch of stomach
1 inch of waist
1 inch of thunder thigh

No side effects, low appetite. Had quite a bit to drink too and 2 meals out & a Nando's takeaway.

Just jabbed again ready for another week. Happy with that start

CatsChin · 11/03/2025 11:42

I've done my first injection with a half-dose (30 clicks) because I am SO nervous.

I feel weird doing this - people always tell me how small and tiny I am and I FEEL slim. I think I identify as slim! 😄But I'm perimenopausal and my BMI has crept up to 30 and nothing is changing it. I feel like it's a lot to process though?!

@TripleRocks so have I! It’s due to be delivered Thursday. What about you? I’ve been reading so many posts and forums building into this it feels surreal. And I’m still convinced it’s too good to be true and my willpower will overpower it somehow! x

I could have written your post.
My first pen arrived and sat in the fridge for two weeks.
Could not bring myself to use it

Then one morning decided today is the day, I was super nervous about injecting but you don’t feel a thing.

Wish I had not delayed, no side effects, good suppression but still hungry for my meals and enjoy them

I’m on WK2 day 5 and 9 pounds down although I do want to loose 100Ibs.

Good luck with your journey

museumum · 11/03/2025 12:12

I'm waiting for my pen. All approved. I am scared but also so keen to get going. I have been calorie counting in MFP forever and although I can stay around 1400 calories I don't lose anything (I'm only 5'2"). I find it hard to believe I will lose even on MJ and no idea how many calories to aim for when it comes. It sounds like others are aiming around 1000-1200 as an absolute minimum is that right?

TryForSpring · 11/03/2025 12:30

Just restarting as I had a false alarm over my gallbladder last time. I'm microdosing and get really good suppression at 1.25mg (with doctor's approval). So hoping I can make some real progress after all the delays.

SW: 15 st 5
H: 5'7
GW: 10 st 5

GameOfJones · 11/03/2025 12:31

@museumum yes, I'm aiming for two meals a day and 1000 calories minimum. I think anything below that just won't be sustainable.

RuthEvershedforPM · 11/03/2025 12:46

All ordered and sorted - it looks from the thread like people calorie count as well. Is this to sort of belt and braces in case suppression isn’t enough? Or about having micro meals to help with side efffects?

Choirgirl699 · 11/03/2025 12:49

Potentially a strange question but is anyone nervous about losing too quickly? I started 10 days ago and have lost 5lb. It seems too much too quickly. I know it can come off quickly at first and then slow down but I can't imagine it's healthy for someone my size (currently 12st1lb, 5'4") to continue that rate of loss. I don't undereat and am aiming for 1300-1400 calories a day. I'd be happy with 1-2lb a week! Anyone the same?

I log to ensure that I do eat enough!

Not something I am worried about lol. I feel enormous and could do with a motivational fast loss to help cheer me up and keep em going. Congratulations x

Today is jab day #3 for me.

Stats

SW: 83kg
CW: 78kg
GW: 63kg (although I may stop a bit sooner than this, depending on how I feel.)

I am feeling pretty nauseated today so a bit nervous about jabbing. Dc had a tummy bug though so I'm half wondering if that's what's going on.

mumofmanydaughterofone · 11/03/2025 13:47

What's everyone's plans about the next pen? I don't know whether to go up to 5mg or not - I am getting suppression on 2.5 but by day 4 I'm back to hungry and food noise isn't as low as I'd like
On the other hand I'm nervous about going up and having side effects.....

I usually only track protein and fibre as peri menopausal so more important for me to hit those. But in calorie counting in this to ensure I’m eating enough

Are you losing okay? If you are I’d stick until you perhaps have a stall.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 11/03/2025 14:03

Can you explain what suppression means to you because I want to check I'm doing this right...

I jabbed Saturday morning (today is Tuesday). I'm not sure what I expected but I think it was to not feel hungry at all. But I am, although it's peckish rather than hungry.

My favourite meal is breakfast (porridge) so I've still had that as I wake up peckish. But then there's no 11am hunger pangs and I've only just had lunch 1.30pm whereas I used to struggle to get to midday. And I only had a small bunch of grapes, a hard boiled egg and an apple which I didn't finish.

I'll then have an M&S ding meal later (out to play sport) of around 550 cals.

I'm tracking and Nutracheck shows that as 1250 for today. I used to try and lose weight on 1800 and generally ate WAY more (hence why I'm here..).

Is that what suppression looks like? Just not fancying food and then when I do eat, not eating as much? I guess I was expecting a silver bullet but if this is the right way to feel then I need to roll with it. Only side effects so far has been some nausea at the weekend. Scales are down too - I'm a daily weigher.

Thoughts?

Sleepeazie · 11/03/2025 14:14

@AddictedtoCrunchies my suppression varies. Sometimes it means no appetite (or a fleeting 5 minutes, and then it completely passes). Other times it means hungry at mealtimes, but full after a small portion.

it also means I can’t conjure tastes from memory! So before I’d be salivating over the idea of food, planning my main, my sides etc.. now it doesn’t matter if it’s tatties and veg or a fat pizza, it’s just sustenance. That said, I do still taste what I’m eating… maybe even more so, as I’m eating mindfully.

MJones90 · 11/03/2025 14:22

@Maro11 thank you for replying, this gives me hope! Will post once I’ve got it 🙏🏼

Flaitch · 11/03/2025 14:51

SW 13.4
CW 12.13
GW 10.7 (decided this is to aim for and see how I go but ideally 9.7)
Week 1 done . Loss of 5lbs . Week 1 review:felt food noise almost disappeared immediately, and didn't feel hungry. This lasted til Saturday when not long after getting up thought oh my tummy's rumbling! Even though I felt hungry and ate only managed to eat a small amount, this lasted until last night when I ate a "normal" portion at dinner. In saying that I wasn't hungry when I woke this morning. Had alcohol on Saturday and was fine the next day, although we were hosting so was able to keep it sensible, actually felt like I was just drinking for the sake of it. Tried to up my water intake over the week. Was managing 1.5 litres ok but trying to up it to 2-3 yesterday I felt all I did was pee!
Well done to everyone with their losses so far.

Cantwaitforsunshine · 11/03/2025 14:59

Hi everyone 👋 hope you don’t mind me joining the thread, I’m also a new starter - taking my third dose on Friday, so keen to tag along and see how it’s working for everyone xx

These are my exact thoughts. I'm having mild suppression and no side effects so was in two minds about next pen being 2.5 or 5mg.

I think I've decided to try 5mg and if I get any bad side effects then count clicks and do a 3.75mg dose which I read about on other threads.

Hi All, I have been approved today so waiting for my order to dispatch. Looking forward to start as know a lot of people who have successfully lost a lot of weight on this. I am nervous about what happens after you have lost the weight and stop the injections so I also want to change my diet and up my steps so I can make a lasting change to my life that are sustainable and become habits.

CW: 13 stone 6 pounds (5ft 3'') BMI: 33.3 waist: 39''
GW: 9 stone (would be happy to reach 10 stone as not weighed that in years!)

My diet plan:
Keep Calories under 1700
Increase protein to minimum 100g a day
Up fruit and veg to minimum 5 a day
Eat 50g fat a day
drink more water minimum 1.5 litres
10K steps a day -this I need to work up to this as currently could do 5k

I want to try and put together a food plan together based on the above. After reading every ones comments it looks like smaller meals spread out works better so will try and plan some healthy small snack meat type things!

Wanted to join this group to remain accountable and its nice to see all your journeys.
