Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Mine was same day, jabbed at 6.30 am and noticed an effect within a couple of hours.

I’m on day 5 and was a bit worried mine was wearing off as I had a bit of food noise yesterday but suppression is back again today. What was good was being able to ignore the food noise. I also seemed to have a bit of bloating/wind pain but it does pass. We had some chipolatas for lunch so I’m wondering if it was the processed meat.

I weighed this morning and have lost 4lb so far!

Edited

Oh amazing! Well done. I definitely don't feel hungry this morning, but that's not unusual for me in the mornings. I have noticed I'm not scrambling for my first morning coffee though. Maybe suppression is kicking in. I have a couple of events coming up where food will be involved, so I am going to jab on a Sunday and hopefully by the time Saturday comes I can still enjoy a meal, and choose what I'm eating wisely.

I had more to drink tonight than I should have but have been busy all day and had a good dinner but no snacking.
My pen jammed whilst administering dose 2 which threw me . After a lot of googling I changed the needle and it worked fine. Weighing day is Tuesday for me.
I have a sedentary job , am post menopausal and have several days in the week where I barely move. What sort of calories are people are g for or are you just omitting snacks and eating less at mealtime due to feeling full? I have not yet felt full although I have avoided snacks and overeating!

How are you feeling after drinking? I have some events coming up where I would usually have a few drinks. Wondering if I should avoid or just enjoy myself.

lastnightadjsavedmylifee · 10/03/2025 09:09

@Loveab123 I had loads to drink on Saturday (about 1.5 bottles of wine and 4 or 5 gins) and felt completely fine Sunday. I didn't want to eat everything in my path either which is definitely unlike me after a drink!

Chocolatecakewithsprinkles · 10/03/2025 09:09

Hoping to join you lovely folks soon. Just submitted my order been looking at the jabs since before Christmas but finally feel brave enough to take the plunge now.
Can i ask does anyone take multi vitamins to help with side effects? Also read on another thread that 2 days after taking is when some seem to feel any negative effects, is this a common day? Sorry trying to figure the best day to take it. Thank you and sorry for the questions x
Editing to add sw 16.5, gw 12, height 5.4 😔

That's good to know! I know this is all about lifestyle changes too, however, socialising when you have a toddler is a rare occasion and when they do come around I would like to still enjoy it with a few drinks!

cmh18 · 10/03/2025 09:18

Hi,
I had my very first dose on Saturday so 2 days ago. So far no side effects and the suppression felt like it was almost instant. I'm really struggling to eat, I've had a bowl of fruit and yogurt in front of me for the last 30 mins and can't seem to get through it

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 10/03/2025 09:23

I have managed another weekend of not telling anyone I am taking MJ, my husband has not noticed the fact I am eating a lot less, I have just said that I am eating healthy and exercising more.

As I have said he thinks people that are overweight are lazy and just do not try hard enough, little does he know. He goes to the gym daily, he thinks I don’t exercise enough, I was walking 10,000 steps a day, Pilates class once a week.

Hello - I lost 3.7 pounds in first week which feels like a lot. Less sick with second jab of 2.5 but also tired and have a headache. Start of week after second injection don't enjoy food as much. I find that sad as good food such a big part of my life. Also tired already of huge bowls of Greek yogurt and fruit and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Finding it hard to cook for kids as don't want any of our food! Overall a bit moaney today. Could eat 600 calories a day but will mindfully for for 1000 so I don't turn gaunt. I am 11.4 at the moment and aiming for 9 12

MountainQueen · 10/03/2025 09:27

Good morning! Day 5 for me, stepped on the scales and was pleasantly surprised, have lost 3lbs so far. I know it's not an actual fat loss but it's still nice to see the number going down!

museumum · 10/03/2025 09:27

Just had to retake my video as my face wasn’t visible in the bit where I step in the scale. I cannot possibly show my face in the mirror and the scale readout at the same time so have just repeated it but panning between the two. Hope that will be good enough. Anyone else have difficulty?

OkyDoke · 10/03/2025 09:35

SW: 2/3/25 92.3 kg (BMI: 32.1)
GW: 72 kg

Week 1 - 9/3/25 90.7kg loss of 1.7kg

Week 1 done! Second dose taken Saturday afternoon, had a bit of trouble as my needle was bent so had to replace it. Going to need to order some of those insulin needles I think in case it happens again as I haven't got any spare now (IQ doctor came with 5). I was planning on getting some anyway for the Golden dose.

Relatively happy with the loss, would have liked more, but onwards and downwards!

lastnightadjsavedmylifee · 10/03/2025 09:40

Also I'm on day 6 and the suppression is definitely waning today. I'm down 4lb this week which I'm thrilled with, especially with a night away in the mix. Can't wait to get up tomorrow and jab again!

Flamethrowers · 10/03/2025 09:47

Anyone else gone off tea coffee and alcohol (plus cakes biscuits etc my daughter was eating some salty crisps last night and I had to hold my nose!

TheBossOfMe · 10/03/2025 10:16

Can I join you? I had a bit of a health scare recently (all on its way to being sorted but for someone who is usually fit as a fiddle it was unnerving). As part of the health review after, I've been told to shift about 2 stone as fast as possible - I put on most of that weight in just over a year (have nearly always been slim up until then apart from a high stress period a few years ago), and it's pretty much all gone on as belly fat.

That, combined with a family history of T2 and my ethnic background, now puts me at super high risk of diabetes. So I've been approved for Mounjaro even though my BMI is overweight, not obese. If you saw my belly you'd understand why, it really is awful (too embarrassed to share my waist size!). And I'm super active - run, do weights, Peloton. So the problem really is just eating too much - especially late at night. I've gone from being a foodie to being a human Labrador with continuous evening food noise. I'm hoping that will go!

Dose 1 taken yesterday. Not feeling any effects yet but I never eat breakfast anyway so not unusual for me not to be hungry yet.

SW 10st 4lb (BMI 25.5)
GW 8st 6lb (BMI 20.9)

That feels like a low BMI, but apparently is what I should be aiming for. And was what I weighed only 15 months ago :(

seasidehunter · 10/03/2025 10:43

Took my first dose before bed last night and the suppression hasn't kicked in yet. All I've got is a lot of burps. Working from home today and the only thing stopping me heading to the kitchen for a mid-morning snack is the cat asleep on my lap! 😕

Mines was yesterday morning and the suppression has only just started today. I started to feel slightly sick though so had a protein shake (some of it) and it's subsided for now. WFH too and I'm going to get some fresh air on my lunch to see if that helps the nauseous feeling.

AvantiAreShit · 10/03/2025 11:21

Do people recommend protein shakes if you're having side effects? Starting to worry a bit over what I'll actually eat!

GameOfJones · 10/03/2025 11:30

@Chocolatecakewithsprinkles I do take supplements and have done for the past year or so, so not a MJ thing but after I found out I had high cholesterol. Every day I take:

A multivitamin with iron
Omega 3
Garlic supplement (meant to help with cholesterol)
Marine collagen (for bones and muscles)
Psyllium husk (for fibre)

Fibre is apparently important on weight loss injections to avoid getting constipated so I figure that is a good thing to continue. I take the multivitamin with iron as a general catch all to be honest and because I get heavy periods. I do think it's helped me feel better.

Sorry to the people not feeling well, I hope you feel better soon!

48 hours now since I did my first jab and feel very slightly nauseous and have no appetite. I'm planning some greek yoghurt or bran flakes with fruit for lunch so I have something in my system. I'm cooking a tomato and chickpea pasta for the family tonight so if I'm still feeling like this I may split my usual portion and have half tonight and half tomorrow.

yikesanotherbooboo · 10/03/2025 11:31

@Loveab123 I had a G&T and 2 glasses of wine , maybe 4 units in total maybe slightly more . I hadn't eaten much all day but was eating with the wine. I expected to feel a bit weary the next day and for my sleep to be poor quality which it was but no more ill effects than normal.

We had friends over last night and a decent amount of alcohol was consumed (I probably drank a bottle of wine between 5pm and midnight) with quite a healthy meal. After they went to bed, I gave myself my second jab. Last night, I felt perfectly clear headed, drank a pint of water as I cleared up, but woke up very early and felt really hungover. More so than normal (I’m not a raging alcoholic but since menopausal symptoms kicked in, I don’t really get drunk or suffer hangovers).

So, I’m still feeling rough with a headache but don’t know if it’s a side effect of the jab, or the MJ is having an impact on how I’m processing alcohol.

After starting yesterday morning feeling rough, I spent the rest of the day feeling bad. I was exhausted (nodded off on the sofa a couple of times) and my stomach felt delicate - not to the extent of being sick or having diarrhoea, but that feeling you get when being sick or having diarrhoea might make you feel better. It was also the first time I couldn’t finish dinner, which sat very uncomfortably for the rest of the night.

Looking at Shotsy, I was at my highest level of MJ till that point (it’s higher than that now) so perhaps my suppression is going beyond not feeling tempted by snacks, which is good.

I also think that I need to be more focussed on water intake as I was a bit poor at this over the weekend. I’ve realised that you can add this metric into Shotsy and configure it to millilitres if that’s helpful to anyone?

Lollzi86 · 10/03/2025 12:16

First Weigh day today and lost 8 pounds which is fantastic but I feel absolutely dreadful ! Full of cold/flu so not connected to the jab but just poor timing 😭. Will jab later this afternoon when I feel a bit more awake and up to it! Xx

Loveab123 · 10/03/2025 12:35

Is everyone still able to eat? Even if it's a little? I'm not overly hungry but I have a toddler and work full time so know myself I need food for energy. Day 2 and I've managed a protein shake for breakfast, now sitting picking away at a tuna salad. I'm reading alot of posts saying they've not eaten or forgotten to eat the days just after injecting. I'm happy for a gradual loss anyway but just curious

yikesanotherbooboo · 10/03/2025 12:49

@Loveab123
I am eating reasonably normally but not snacking or overeating.W2 D1 today and fairly hungry... I know it is early days and I'm hoping to have lost weight when I weigh myself tomorrow for some incentive.

springdays100 · 10/03/2025 12:51

Joining please

SW 13st 11 (bmi 31.2)
TW 10 st 7 (seems a nice round number with a little wiggle room to fit in healthy weight - bmi 23.7). I haven't weighted this in probably +25 years.

Did first jab this morning, all super easy and pain free. Working out how to tell hubby, no idea why I'm finding it that hard!
