Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Thank you for th kind words @soupforbrains and @WithTheFairies

My DH weighs less than me although he's a foot taller than me. He eats plenty but just sees food as fuel he's not interested in it like I am.

Off to the docs today really hoping she gives me the go ahead for the jabs although I know I'll have to pay private

Hello everyone! After reading this thread and hiding in the shadows I have braved it and am waiting for my injections to arrive today! Have already lost 2st 10lb on keto but cant seem to lose any more so giving the injection a go to see if it will help, I’m gluten intolerant anyway so avoiding carbs isn’t too bad!

@Pipsballoon congratulations on the arrival of your grandchild!

I managed to eat healthily yesterday, breakfast and lunch were fine but I was hungry after I finished my tea. Admittedly it was a small portion, but I'm not sure if it was that I didn't have enough protein, or if the suppression is wearing off a bit as the week wears on. Also when DH had pudding I was a little tempted, whereas earlier in the week I really wasn't. But I guess that might be because I was still hungry. I know I could have had a little bit but I wasn't willing to chance it as my problem is lack of moderation, I'm fine once I give something up but if I try to have a square of chocolate I'll scarf the whole thing.

Flipper1234 · 06/03/2025 08:48

Morning all. Day 4… had a sneaky mid week weigh and have lost 4lb. Thrilled.

Thought I was hungry this morning but a cup of tea proved sufficient 😊

Carblover · 06/03/2025 09:02

Hi everyone , I ordered my first batch on the 1st March, from your medicals still waiting prescription approval, presuming from GP ,
so have emailed them Tuesday to see how long that will take as I'm eager to start and would love to share journeys with you all

dancemom · 06/03/2025 09:48

Had such a realisation this morning. Came into the office and I'm sitting with a cuppa and listening to a group of people discussing their breakfast, what they had for dinner last night, where they will get lunch today or what they brought in, the calorie content of it, added sugars versus natural sugars and realised I haven't thought about any of these things in days now - it's unbelievable the change one small injection can make 😳

mumofmanydaughterofone · 06/03/2025 10:55

I'm due the 2nd jab tonight so will weigh in the morning. I've definitely felt more hungry / snacky the last couple of days and have finished meals more often - been trying to sit with the food noise as training for when I come off the treatment (not very successfully)

Chelle28 · 06/03/2025 10:59

Hi can I join 😃

SW 184lb
GW 150lb

My pen arrived on Tuesday but put off the jab till yesterday afternoon as I hate the thought of jabbing myself so had to work up to it - couldn’t believe how easy it was in the end 😂 got myself all worked up for nothing.

my problem seems to be little snacks when I’m not even hungry- if I open the fridge and see something nice I tend to eat it just because it’s there 🙈

I go to gym classes 3-4 times a week but never seem to lose any weight so thought I’d give this a try. Not told anyone at all though - whenever my partner decides to lose weight he seems to fart and lose a stone so he thinks it’s easy.

Ive just bought a dress for a work event at the races in May and although it fits already Im hoping for a little weight loss before then so that I feel better in it. No side effects so far except no interest in snacking at all and no hunger. Watching the footy will be a test tonight as that’s usually when I snack the most 🐷

Flamethrowers · 06/03/2025 11:09

today is five days after
first injection and thoughts of food returning. I'm trying to stay on 16:8 so im In the habit when I finally give up!

MountainQueen · 06/03/2025 11:24

Today first day after my first injection yesterday. Woke up and feel no different, in fact for the first few seconds of waking up I was questioning whether I dreamt the whole thing 😄
My appetite usually starts to creep up around lunchtime and afternoon so no difference yet.
I wasn't going to tell anyone about jabs but DH called, he's working away now. He could tell straight away I'm up to something as I was very evasive when talking about weight or food (it's a popular topic recently). He'll be home in a couple of weeks, hopefully there'll be some weight difference by then.

MamaBanana12 · 06/03/2025 11:48

Thanks all for the help yesterday reg the achey neck/shoudlers. Weirdly I've woken today day 2 post injection and feel normal, so happy that's gone.
Appetite is at 0!
Havnt had a meal. Im just eating protein and some fruit, drinking loads!

Lollzi86 · 06/03/2025 12:26

Day 4 for me. Last meal was last night at 6.45ish, tuna and jacket potato (was out so that was healthiest option with some protein). Could not finish it probably ate 2/3s and felt bloated all night! Still not hungry now tbh but thinking I best have some fibre and protein if only a small portion. Amazing stuff as id normally be snacky snacking all over the place by 12.30 😀😂

Fatmumslim01 · 06/03/2025 12:36

Well the GP was a waste of time just said I need to go to a private GP so I'm ordering them today 😁

TryingMJ · 04/03/2025 20:26

What’s everyone doing about contraception? I’m on the pill (cerelle) but heard being on mounjaro stops it working.

I have the mirena coil which I love - the guidance seems to say long acting contraceptives like coil may work best if youre on mounjaro.

yeah unless you have something drastic on your notes or are under 27 bmi they won’t say no. Where are you ordering from? Lots of discount codes on here so don’t pay full price. I got 40 off mine from med express as I had a referral code. Meant it was 110 which tbh I would spend in the pub in 2 weeks anyway! You can message me if you want a referral code (if that’s allowed on here!) x

I'm on Depo Provera.

Fairislesweater · 06/03/2025 13:47

I’ll join. First dose this morning. Am 5ft and have about 4 stone to lose. Not sure how quickly the effects take hold!

Choirgirl699 · 06/03/2025 14:14

Well, I'm doing ok. Eating the same meals I did before but just less. Not fussed about snacking, sweet things and bread. I seem to be eating about 1300-1400 calories naturally so I'm going to stick with that since my body seems happy. Been side effects free now for 3 days.

Rather strangely, after breakfast and the school run I feel like I'm hungry but, as soon as I take one mouthful, I'm not hungry anymore. Only time of day that happens.

Roll on jab 2 on Saturday night. Really excited about the future.

MrsMariaReynolds · 06/03/2025 15:21

Well, mixed feelings today. I did my second jab and had my first weigh-in and I'm only 0.6 kilos down in the first week.

I've got about 3 stone to go and that seems soooo long off.

It's frustrating because I feel I've had better losses on my keto alone without the £££ jab.

Justformounjaro · 06/03/2025 15:44

Today has been the first day that I've felt I could snack. I was making pea and ham soup this morning and tasting it made me want more 🥴 I've only had home mixed granola, Greek yoghurt and berries at 11am and I now feel hungry, tired - and craving that bowl of soup.

It also doesn't help that I've not got a vital bit of kit that I need to do the work I had planned this afternoon which would divert me.

Other than that, I'm pretty sure that my waist is smaller than when I measured at the weekend. I've got on a pair of tie waist joggers which have been getting more difficult to tie in a bow (and I also had to add a bit of elastic to the ends of the ties as I kept losing them in the waistband when I stretched them over my hips and the elastic was regularly becoming part of the bow 😳). Today, I've been able to tie a proper bow with recognisable loops rather than a bit of a knot.

Somebody asked upthread about whether we were taking measurements, and I have. I've been keeping them since I was a teenager any time I've tried to diet. It's interesting that when I was last at my starting weight circa 2009, my hips were a couple of inches bigger and my waist was smaller. I now have a menopause belly and am losing my bum. Now I'm wanting all my measurements to be on a downward trajectory 🤞

Amazing loss!

Fatmumslim01 · 06/03/2025 18:43

I've taken the plunge and ordered! Just waiting to be approved. Submitted my application and it got put on hold while they asked for photos so I'm waiting to see if my pics are ok then I'll be officially joining you all!

Flaitch · 06/03/2025 18:43

Well done @flipflop76 👏

MamaNewtNewt · 06/03/2025 18:53

@MrsMariaReynolds I get where you are coming from but it's still a loss, and isn't the 2.5 just a starter does to get us used to it? It may be more effective for you when we move up a dose. Keep your chin up, we are all in this together for the long haul, you can do it!
