Wow who would have thought it

We are doing so well. 7mths

Hugs all the auggies and all of us have lost a fair amount of weight

Some still have weight to lose myself included

Equally a few are nearing their healthy bmi or have reached it and thinking about maintaining

And all I can say is an elephants penis 😂😂😂

@troppibambini6 it's an amazing loss, well done! It's certainly hard to be a plodder isn't it Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2025 10:17

@Azuresky68 I love a fish finger Sarnie. Have one at least once a week so yours and peas is healthy

bless you saying I’m the glue. Just read that and blinked back tears. I’m so emotional at the moment. Think might be due on tomorow - need to check diary

bad bf never buying you a valentines card

@WorriedRelativeut was the way she said it and then about her mouth needing shrinking at what she said and literally cackled like a teenager. Hope I’m like her at 70/80

pmsl @troppibambini6 lovely to bear from you

your elephants penis will come 😂😂

10.7 for 5.8 is amazing. I’m 5.7 and def won’t go lower then 11 as can’t keep it there - got to 10.10 in my late 20’s but struggled to keep it tnere and overtime obv gained 6 fucking stone 🙀🥲

@WitchDancer this is true. We are all slimmer then august

@Nicecuppatea2025 good luck with your journey! Hard to give advice as we've all had such different experiences on MJ! My knees are A LOT better but hard to know if that's weight loss or the MJ as some report that it helps with inflammation etc. I've lost very nearly 5 stone so I'm guessing the weight loss will have helped!

@WorriedRelative sorry you've been poorly!

@NippyNinjaCrab sorry for the sicky pup!

@Azuresky68 hope the family stress eases soon!

Well done on the losses @troppibambini6

Got my youngest and off school today, tummy ache but actually been quite nice. After the usual morning rush and breakfasts etc. He got into bed with me and watched a movie and I dosed off so only just getting up now!

AuntieDote · 13/02/2025 13:35

@WorriedRelative ve – get well soon!

@Blondeshavemorefun and @morbidcuriosity bidcuriosity my BMI is still 27.3 too. I must be deluded because I don’t feel particularly porky anymore – I feel like I look a bit overweight sure, but kind of ‘normal’ now and that another stone and a bit off will definitely take me into the realms of ‘slim’. Probably am deluded – looking through old pictures last week and I was a bit horrified whereas at the time – yes I knew I was overweight and wasn’t happy with how I looked, but I still sort of thought I wasn’t really fat, definitely didn’t see myself quite how the pictures show looking at them now!

Great NSV @Blondes!

Welcome @Nicecuppatea2025 – I’m one who really struggled with side effects once I went over 2.5 – to the point I had to stop for a while then start again on lowest dose. Not saying that to scare you – I think a lot of it was to do with existing issues I had anyway, and this time around I’ve been relatively side effect free by taking it very slowly and carefully, and being extra careful food wise. It’s very common for people taking MJ to struggle with anything oily or greasy, which is definitely the case for me. But I’ve also found that things that used to be fine no longer work for me – healthy stuff like beans, lentils, pulses I can no longer digest. Tracking in order to keep on top of my calories has helped in this way too as it provided a food diary so I could see what was triggering symptoms.

Sorry to hear about family stress @Azuresky68 hope things improve Can’t beat fishfingers though, I love them!

@troppibambini6 Wow that’s a great loss and I would have thought 10’7 takes you very comfortably into healthy weight range? I wouldn’t be worrying about getting to much more off in your shoes – that’s my ultimate target and I’m a good inch at least shorter than you. However we’re all different and I know it’s a personal decision.

Hope pup is better @NippyNinjaCrab – and sorry you had to deal with it!

@WitchDancer – good luck for the sleepover and resisting the baking!!

I’m tired (DD sleep still awful as ever) and hormonal and bloody hungry today! I've also left myself with fairly few calories for the rest of the day because I had breakfast and it was a massive portion of the total 5% because didn't seem worth leaving the extra 50g or so in the tub so I ate the lot, with blueberries and some nut butter plus my biomel stirred in. Makes a very protein rich breakfast but as I don't usually eat till 12, i'm not used to having to eke my calories over 3 meals instead of 2. Plus lunch involved avocado so quite calorific there too. Got about 400 cals left so dinner will need to be frugal!

Even though I'm hungry I'm holding off to jab tomorrow I think, maybe Sat if I can stretch it – I just found it helped so much with side effects to lengthen the time between doses a little.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2025 13:48

@troppibambini6your bmi is 22.7

i think stay where you are. You have done it. Be proud !!

@troppibambini6 You've done amazingly well! Maybe you just need to shift mindset a bit. Instead of cursing the slowness, see yourself as doing some exploratory maintenance and anything that comes off from now on is a bonus.

@AuntieDote I'm with you on my own weight perception being all over the place. I think when very overweight, I constantly thought how terrible I was/looked, and hid myself away under pretty invisible clothes, but it's almost like I fooled myself into thinking my obesity was somehow secret! In reality, it was only my degree of shame about it that was secret and everyone could see how fat I was. When someone else posts before and afters, I can see this big reduction and I think - oh, I was the same before and that's much bigger than I knew. I'm still overweight and even if I manage to end up in the middle of a healthy BMI, I still won't be slim as such - but right now I like just feeling like a normal overweight person. Not how I want to be, but not actively shameful. That sounds very negative, but it's lovely after so much weight-related misery.

Weepixie · 13/02/2025 14:27

Hi everyone. How are you?

I love this thread, I love sharing the journey with you but most of all I love reading the little snippets about a posters daily life.

Im having a stall but I’m ok with that because I believe my body has said, ok let’s put the breaks on this week because her hair is shedding and she had a bad 3 or 4 weeks when she went up to 10 and wasted time trying different doses before going back to 6. Anyhoo I had a much, much better week on 6 and today I went to 7.5. Initially I’d thought I’d be at target on my 67 birthday in April but I’m now very happy knowing that I will be by the summer.

But all that said, I had the mother of all NSV’s today when I went for my annual oncology check and I was told by my specialist that I’m being discharged. I was so surprised because I thought I had to complete 5 years which is up in November and I’d said to my children I’m going to see if she’ll discharge me today. They laughed at me because this lady is so nice but when it comes to looking after women she is like a tiny Rottweiler in lipstick. Anyway, my kids said no way Mama, she’ll never agree. But she did. In fact I didn’t even have to ask, she said so it’s your 5th year now and if you’d like this to be your last check up it’s ok with me. But she also said if it would give you peace of mind we can continue them. As if. 🤣. So she gave me a good check up and has booked me in for a mammogram just so that when she gets my blood results in 3 weeks she can let me go knowing I’m in good health. I asked her do we really have to do the bloods and she said yes, we must, but I’m not expecting anything except good results.

So that’s me with a huge weight lifted off my shoulder as well as 15kg I’ve lost off other bits of me. I’m so happy. I’ve cried a few times today but happy tears and just sheer relief.

❤️

morbidcuriosity · 13/02/2025 14:59

So I got a reply from Oushk, they said they dispatch 24 hours before delivery day, but they are sorry it was the next day, they say normally people receive it on their chosen date, but they will give me a coupon for my next postage amount, so that's something I suppose..
It was still cold and 48 hours to deliver which is fine.. I'll just remember to make sure I've got 2 days where I can possibly be in..

I live in a block of flats so if they can't get in they won't leave it anywhere, it would be on the street.. so kinda have to be in for it..

Motnight · 13/02/2025 15:44

@Weepixie that is an amazing NSV 💓

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2025 16:40

How lovely @Weepixie. Must be a relief

@morbidcuriositythats pretty crap tbh. They are the most costly for postage. I assumed as could pick the day

but if picking a day and still don’t get it , it’s annoying

could they leave with a neighbour ?

Fabulous news @Weepixie 💕

morbidcuriosity · 13/02/2025 18:16

I've not lived in this flat long so only know couple neighbours, but that still means getting into the building, if they can get in they can leave by the door.. but no one to buzz them in.
Not to sure what I'm gonna do to be fair, got a while to think about it..

I may chase discounts again, think IQ and cloud do maintenence anyway so might look at them.

weaselyeyes · 13/02/2025 18:36

That's lovely news @Weepixie - I'm thrilled for you, and your children xx

whethertheweather · 13/02/2025 19:03

@morbidcuriosity I have always had to sign for my delivery, is that not the case with your supplier?

owlyboo · 13/02/2025 19:48

@AuntieDote I don't think you're deluded I think everyone carries their weight differently so you may way look slim! Enjoy the feeling!

@weaselyeyes I think we were all probably in denial about weight especially how we could 'hide' ourselves. And at mid range bmi I'm sure you will look slim!!!

Fabulous NSV @Weepixie ! I'm also losing hair! Only really started last two weeks but it's pretty awful!! Brushing my hair is very 😬😳

@morbidcuriosity a voucher is a bit of a piss take, no I'll have the money back please!!

AuntieDote · 13/02/2025 20:43

@Weepixie fantastic news, the best NSV!

I probably am @owlyboo 😀I wouldn’t say I’m looking slim, I know I’m still overweight and probably look it, but I feel more ‘normal’ and like I blend in a little better at least!

4pink1blue · 13/02/2025 20:54

@owlyboo I have been using biotin supplements for my hair and nails. It seems to be working for me :)

Motnight · 14/02/2025 06:41

Well done @4pink1blue!

Motnight · 14/02/2025 06:44

@BBlondeshavemorefun loving your NSV. The lady sounds as though she would have appreciated the whole elephant penis comparison 😬

Motnight · 14/02/2025 06:47

I am off to a (for me!) relatively posh restaurant for Valentine's Day with DH. We're then staying in a Castle! This time last year I would have been too uncomfortable with my weight to dare to go to this restaurant which in itself is ridiculous and ironic but that is how I felt. This year I am going to enjoy a tasting menu and lots of sparkling wine.

Happy Friday to everyone 🥳
