@Blondeshavemorefun sure!

Breakfast is typically a protein shake as have to be in work early. On the weekend I have protein pancakes a lot.

Lunch will be leftovers, or a chicken/ham bagel thin, soup, or a salad. If I’m running that day I’ll usually have a protein snack like some chicken or something.

Dinners I like to do are:
Steak and Potatoes
Chicken Chow Mein
Pasta (feta/butternut squash etc)
Chilli
Roast
usually at least one quick tea like wraps

Why not have the crisps once a week @Blondeshavemorefun? You could spend those calories on something more filling and nutritious, it would wean you off eating/wanting them, but you'd still get to have a treat and not feel too crisp deprived.

@4pink1blue You look amazing! Apart from being smaller, I really like how your posture is improved. I guess part is because you are smaller so your arms are closer by your sides, but it's just that your whole way of standing looks more confident and mobile. It's very inspiring!

I ought to get round to contributing to woolly hugs at some point. I do my own version, which is making things for babies and other people, as I really like the way that you think about the person they're for when crocheting, so they really are an expression of love. In the meantime, I shall admire @poppym12 and her burgeoning prowess. I'm currently plotting which type of blanket I'll make to use up lots of my spare - and unfortunately very disparate - wool, as I'm determined not to buy more. Must economise to keep affording MJ!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2025 12:00

I prob have them 4 times a week. Not every day but I do like a treat so whether crisos or a skinny bar for 80c

Happy Saturday! Hope it's nicer where you all are than here where it's grey and rainy. Just popped out to post my vinted parcels and now I'm holing up for the rest of the day and looking forward to my birthday takeaway 😋.
Got hubby to take some progress pics. WHO IS THAT WOMAN????

@4pink1blue you look blooming great!

Motnight · 16/02/2025 12:57

Back from the castle! Accommodation and breakfast amazing. The posh (for us anyway) tasting menu wasn't. But had a lovely time. We were allowed to walk around the castle grounds outside of general opening hours. Have attached a photo here of the beautiful sunrise ( hopefully it won't take too long to get approved).

The castle was so interesting. Lots of spiral steps which I was worried about. It was fine but I don't think that I could have managed it 6 months ago.

Off to catch up with the other posts now!

@Blondeshavemorefun can I just say, when I started this journey and started to think of weight loss, I read somewhere that crisps are one of the worst things you can eat on a diet.. now whether that is true or utter bull, it stayed in my mind, and I think it helped me kick my addiction to them, I would easily smash a family share pack of an evening on my own, no problem..

It may well be rubbish and I'm sure a 500g bar of chocolate or a couple donuts is prob worse, but it just stuck in my mind, so thought I would share with you! .

SilverSprings510 · 16/02/2025 15:25

@Blondeshavemorefun yeah typically I’ll have 2 meals and a shake. Weekends/when I’m on annual leave I’ll have 3 meals. I don’t really snack either to be honest, but I do if it’s a running day as I allow myself to eat the burnt calories back if I feel like I need them.

NippyNinjaCrab · 16/02/2025 15:32

I've started, not sure i have the best yarn in the starter kit though, I could do with stronger tighter thicker stuff to start me off, I've managed a wee chain lol. Fuck it's harder than I anticipated, I could feel the frustration in my tummy building when trying to co ordinate my fingers. I'm not very great at co ordination so I had to watch the slip not video again and again, so now I can do a small chain I'm going to practice the stitches before I attempt to do whatever comes next! At this rate I'll have a square like sample by Jelember 2027 haha xxx

@Motnight wow! That's a stunning picture xx

@owlyboo I am on 12.5 mg. I have gone up every time. But found suppression too much on my first jab of 12.5 mg. Currently at 9 stone (my original goal) Hopefully I will be at 8 stone 11 pounds in 3 weeks then off on holiday. Will be on 10 mg then probably work my way down but not intending to come off totally and like the Ouschk option of coming off then being able to go back on if needed. I worked really hard during and after lockdown to maintain my weight loss- the lowest I got to was 9 stone 4...it slowly crept back up to 11 stone in the last 2 years, but I was constantly worrying about my weight and what I was eating and drinking. Now I am nearly at my goal I have found it very tempting to eat the wrong things, despite being on 12 5 mg. So I am very worried about regaining. With Ouschk you get a permanent 12.5% discount with free p&p on maintenance. I am considering staying on MJ for at least 6 months at my goal weight and might stay on it for longer. Not rushing to come off it anyway.

Azuresky68 · 16/02/2025 16:21

@Motnight beautiful photo!

Nice one @NippyNinjaCrab !! I'm struggling with the first 3 or 4 rows as it's not so obvious where I should be poking the hook. I'm trying to do it looser so I can tell more easily.

poppym12 · 16/02/2025 18:15

I took my bonus 10mg last night and I haven't eaten yet today. I'm drinking lots of water but having this cold/cough is putting me off fancying anything. I'm going to end up with no muscle and no hair.

weaselyeyes · 16/02/2025 19:23

Good chain @NippyNinjaCrab ! If it's any consolation, the chain and the first couple of rows are the worst - they feel a bit fiddly. After that, it gets much easier. One thing I find helpful if it's hard to see where you're putting the hook is to stick it in then gently tug the crochet you've done already downwards - it opens up the stitches so you can see their structure more easily. @poppym12 's tip for doing it loosely to start with is also good. By the time you've done a couple of squares you start to see how the stitches work and then it gets easier, I promise!

WorriedRelative · 16/02/2025 19:34

Busy day for me today, up early to get to the stables as I was off for an Endurance ride. I wasn't feeling very enthusiastic when it started snowing but layered up and cracked on. A good 22km ticked off in just over three hours, which wasn't bad considering how incredibly muddy it was.

Treated myself to a cheese burger at the food van afterwards. Not terribly healthy but I had earned it.

Quiet night in now, and jab day tomorrow!

eeeeeeeee · 16/02/2025 22:16

Hi everyone, long time!

@4pink1blue your progress is incredible, you look amazing

WitchDancer · 16/02/2025 22:18

@Blondeshavemorefun I think 13 years was before my time. I could be wrong and you might have an odd square of mine though. Definitely love in every stitch.

@Motnight that's a really beautiful picture, thank you for sharing

@NippyNinjaCrab that's a beautifully even chain, well done!

@poppym12 stitch markers are your friend to help you mark stitches until you get the hang of where you need to go. It will come with practice - my first attempts were appallingly bad 😂

I made it through the day, but how I don't know! I'm absolutely shattered and am ready for bed. I did remember to jab today, which was my bonus dose from my 12.5 pen. I've ordered my 15, which is somewhere I never thought I'd get to. Weigh day tomorrow, so am keeping everything crossed for a loss.

Night night all, sweet dreams

eeeeeeeee · 16/02/2025 22:52

Just to recap things for me, after starting MJ in August, my BMI was 23 in January. Last year I ordered extra boxes of MJ (in declining strengths) to taper off the medication gradually instead of going on long-term maintenance. I wanted to maintain my weight without medication as I used to be slim and able to do it alone.

However, in January, I ended up just going cold turkey & came off MJ. Initially, everything was fine. It was a very gentle transition, no side effects and food noise gradually returned in a bearable way. I did gain slightly (1-2kg).

Ultimately I have decided to go back on MJ and use up the medication I had stockpiled! Mainly because I started a new job recently and am moving, so am a bit stressed and can’t put 100% focus on my diet and exercise. I’m hoping that once I finish the medication I have left and actually taper down as planned, things will be quieter and I’ll be in a better position to maintain naturally!

I did notice that I am super weak since starting MJ. I lost around 5kg in muscle mass. I’m now going to the gym 3/4 times a week for different classes including weight lifting and reformer Pilates. I’m hoping by building up my strength now, I’ll have better habits when I properly come off! Wish I started this sooner.

@Blondeshavemorefun hello! Hope you are okay!

WitchDancer · 17/02/2025 09:15

@eeeeeeeee it's lovely to hear from you again. I hope the new job and house move go well and life settles down quickly for you.

I'm another 1lb down, making 2 stone 3lb in total. In another 3lb I'll be down into the 14's, so that's my focus now.

In other news the sulphur burps are back 😢 I'm hoping the 15 dosage doesn't do that and it's just that I didn't have much to eat yesterday cos I wasn't hungry.

MedExpress have asked for another photo so I'll have to do that tonight and hope it doesn't delay my delivery too much.

AuntieDote · 17/02/2025 11:31

Morning all. Hope you all had good weekends.

@Motnight what a stunning photo, glad you had a lovely time.

Hello again @eeeeeeeee - interesting to hear your experience with stopping.

Well done on loss @WitchDancer

I jabbed another 3.75 last night - a huge part of me was tempted to just go for 5 and see if I can tolerate it better this time, especially as I was 9 days between jabs - but sense prevailed. I am staying mercifully side effect free this time round (touch wood) and so even if I don’t really get the suppression of appetite the same, I am just glad not to be throwing up and pooping constantly!

I do also like that I feel as if at least half of the good habits are now coming from me rather than the fact that I have no appetite or food noise. My experience stopping last time means I’m not so naive to think it’s all me, but I definitely feel like some of it is becoming just second nature now. That said I thoroughly enjoyed a pub roast dinner yesterday for my niece’s birthday - I didn’t quite finish it but didn’t do a bad job! And found myself pretty peckish when I got home which is why I thought right better jab again!

AuntieDote · 17/02/2025 11:34

Also, I’m still using the 7.5 pen I bought before I had to take a break. I started it mid-Jan, cointojg clicks for smaller doses so there’s a good half left but I’m now over the 30 days but the liquid is still completely clear and on balance I’m ok with it, I’ll just keep going and use it up.

More concerned that if I do need another or when it comes to maintenance whether Oushk will still prescribe to me, as I’m no longer in the obese bmi range and hopefully inching ever closer towards a healthy one. I think on payday I’ll just order another 2.5 to keep me ‘on their books’.

Azuresky68 · 17/02/2025 12:53

Completly lost the plot at the weekend...well it wasn't as bad as things might have been in the past without MJ. Been having a rocky time emotionally as mentioned before and it's still ongoing as it's linked to a family wedding in June, which should be a very happy occaission but its going to be extremely difficult for quite a few people attending, which is very sad. Putting the most important people first of course as it's their day. So just as I am at my personal goal weight and decided to try for a 3 more pounds to get to the top of my healthy BMI I am almost self sabotaging..drank bottle and a half of wine over weekend (don't normally drink anymore apart from when on holiday) and ate chocolate. Since January I have been sticking to 1000 cals or less but went over this at the weekend. I know it's not the end of the world but why oh why am I doing this when I so very nearly there..it feels like running a marathon then giving up when I am nearly there. I know I am not hungry on 12.5 mg but my stomach is churned up and I am reaching for food as a comfort. Tackling a decorating project today to take my mind off eating.
