I have yoyoed for the last 13 years, but prior to this time hadn't gone above 196lbs again since 2012. I think it's frustrating knowing that even having lost 18lbs, I'm still heavier than I've been before. I know it's a marathon, and it really does feel like it! I'm not in smaller clothes as I'm so wobbly, I carry weight really badly as I don't have a particularly large frame. I know I can do it, I've lost 5 stone before and then lost 2- 3 stone here and there over the years as I've gained and lost weight again. Would really like to not regain this time and happy to stay on mj long term if that's what it takes!

Same for me re clothes - I haven't bought any for so long and live in sweaty Betty leggings and a jumper. I've been wearing the same "jeans and a sparkly top" to go out in for weeks now as nothing fits or looks good. I also have no idea what's in fashion anymore. When I did look around the shops recently I was seriously underwhelmed - everything is so baggy and drab. So I'm hoping by the time I've lost weight it'll be spring/summer and the clothes will have improved!

"rear-elevated split squats"?? What fresh hell is this?
I cannot even manage a squat-squat! 😂 dh bought me a kettlebell the other day and I could barely lift it! He's going to return it for a smaller one, then I plan to do some Caroline Girvan videos as my exercise has been walking only so far due to how tired I've been feeling,

Jins
I'm sleeping loads still too. 11 hours last night! I'm lucky in that I work from home for dh and can fit it in around my own schedule - I don't know if I'd be able to carry on with MJ if I was having to get up early.

Im W5 D3 of first jab of 5mg and feeling ok apart from the tiredness. Suppression is back quite strong again and I could barely eat any of my chicken roast yesterday. Then had an orange and two of dh's Thorntons chocolates. That was it and I reckon only about 800 calories - not enough really.

I know what you mean, I'm the same - Ive lost 12lbs in 4 weeks but am still heavier than I've ever been (apart from during pregnancy!)
I think we just have to remind ourselves that we've only just started this a month ago and this weight took a long time to go on so it's going to take a while to get it back off. I'm just celebrating small NSV's such as my coat not being as tight and me not looking quite so much like the Michelin man in it! Also finding it easier to tie my shoelaces. 18lbs is brilliant - things are going in the right direction 🤩

MananaMananaPenelope · 17/02/2025 12:30

My dress definitely has more room in it today. Not all size 18s are made equal though are they. Cos for instance - no sausage roll effect. Hobbs tailored - 😑sausage roll look prevails.

I’ll be ok for work clothes as I slim down as I’ve got loads in smaller sizes. I’m planning on buying new casual clothes at size 14 as I think I’ve got fewer nice casual clothes than work stuff.

MananaMananaPenelope · 17/02/2025 12:33

I’ve also thought about tracking my waist measurement. Currently 39” and I’m 5’7 so that’s 58%. I think that should be 33 per the max waist to height ratio.

Gawd my waist was always sub 28”.

Oh well, onwards we march losers.

mince3point14159265 · 17/02/2025 12:34

Totally feeling the pain re clothes! Spent hours yesterday going through wardrobe, trying to sort holiday stuff and also seeing what actually fits now. Biggest takeaway was how much a bloody size 18 can vary! From snug through looking a bit baggy to actually falling down 😂
Don't really want to buy too much yet, but it would be nice to feel good in clothes. My body (especially tummy) is really squidgy now and needs something quite firming to hold it in place 😬

Enjoying seeing the sun today. Hope everyone has a good week 🍀

I'm tracking my waist measurement. My BMI is going to be affected by my general sturdiness so I'm keeping an eye on my waist too.

You've just brought back my dream from last night mince3point14159265
I dreamt I was wearing loads of different shape wear and was sucked in so much I couldn't breathe properly! How I look in clothes is obviously playing on my mind..

Oh great. My waist is fine as long as I'm 7ft 4 😭

HeavyHeidi · 17/02/2025 13:16

*Saggyknickers *check for adjustable kettlebells, if they have any - first, you will get stronger, but also different exercises need different weight kettlebells for maximum effect and safe execution.

It's interesting how people carry their weight. I always gain weight in my face. And not in this slightly plump manner, that suits many middle-aged people. No, a few extra kilos and I look like a moon, with no definition, so look dreadful even on headshots. While a good friend of mine can go 2 sizes up and will still have a slim face.

Yes, my SIL is a size 22 with no double chin whereas I had a double chin even when I was a size 10!

@Upperroom I think it was you asking about shopping around the other day?
Well as I am losing weight far more quickly than I expected I am now over halfway to my target weight.
Because of this I have been looking at different maintenance plans, as I think I will need this long term. And I had an email from MedExpress this morning reminding me to order my next pen.
So I decided to switch from MedExpress to Oushk.

I filled in the questionnaire and sent photo's and evidence of current dose at 8:30 this morning.
At 1pm I just had an email to say it was approved and being despatched on my chosen day.
Very very easy.

Zempy · 17/02/2025 13:53

I have also switched to Oushk.

Jins · 17/02/2025 14:05

I was thinking of changing to cloud pharmacy after my next pen as they seem to have a flexible approach to maintenance. Does anyone use cloud?

Beanie567 · 17/02/2025 14:49

Checking in!
sw: 15.1
cw : 14.4
gw: 12.1

Day 1 of week 5. I’m on 1.25mg (so 30 clicks of a 2.5 mg pen) and it’s going well. Sticking with the 1.25 dose for the moment as the food suppression and fullness is working well still. Like someone else upthread, my period is late - 4 days - which is annoying but hopefully it will turn up soon.

Upperroom · 17/02/2025 17:01

Check in day
Wk5 day1
just jabbed my first 5mg pen. Usually it’s around 11 but I’ve had to be out all day with dd as it’s half term.

SW 12st ish
CW 10st 13lb!
GW maybe 9/9.7st would be a miracle to get to. I’m 5’5’

fingers crossed the 5mg is ok re side effects 🤞🏻

SneakyLilNameChange · 17/02/2025 17:14

I've had 2 weeks of 3.75 (counting clicks on 5ml pen) but tbh the suppression has reallllly gone for me so Im gonna brave a full 5ml on friday when I jab.

Thank you so much for this. What are planing for maintenance? And how much is oushk?

MananaMananaPenelope · 17/02/2025 17:35

Ouskh are really transparent about their pricing @Upperroom.

Oops pressed post 😅. Prices here.

They issue codes on their facebook group, open codes for all, no cloak and dagger stuff. Currently LOVE18 gives you £18 off, but there might be a bigger discount for new people.

I was impressed with their support when I felt really ill. It really is no hassle, pick your date for delivery and DPD is an option.

Upperroom · 17/02/2025 17:21

I paid 141.99 for the 7.5mg pen with delivery.
They have a £30 off code.
But no referrals which is awesome! They've got so tedious with medex.
Oushk seem really flexible with maintenance, you can titrate down, stay on the lowest dose that helps you maintain, do a month on, month off, or come off completely but pay £15 a month to restart any time you need to even at a lower BMI than 30.
Personally I'd like to stay on a low dose for a fair while and take it from there.

ETA I think when you are on maintenance you get 15% off each pen too.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 17/02/2025 17:40

God I sound like a salesperson 🙄

DGonMJ · 17/02/2025 17:41

@Upperroom I’ve just switched to Oushk and I got a 30% discount code off the monj.co.uk price comparison website.

First day skiing done! I think that this week is going to be challenging- I struggle to get enough in me to stay fuelled! I struggled to eat enough lunch, and I'm worried I'll just slump at one point. But I'm just so not hungry, to the point I don't really want to put anything in my mouth. I still can't get over how this link between looking at food and finding it so appetising that you just want to eat has disappeared. Or finding something appetising while you eat it, so that you want more, that's not there anymore either.

The choice here while out and about on the mountain is very limited! It's all carbs and fat, very little protein to be had. We always carry 'hill food' ie sweets/chocolate for the sugar hit, but I don't eat to eat those.

Having said all that, I felt fine today Smile Maybe I just don't need as much food for skiing as I thought 🤷🏼‍♀️
