Morning, I’m wondering if people are weighing daily or once weekly?
I've started weighing daily in the morning… but I’m 2/3 pounds heavier by lunch time so I’m feeling like I’m not sure I believe my weight loss!
jab day tomorrow and can’t decide between 5th bonus dose or go straight to 5mg.
SW 12.2 st
CW 11st
GW 9ish st
i’m in slight disbelief does anyone else feel like that? Like I can’t imagine I’ll be 10st in another 4 weeks? Or will the weight loss plateau?
I've not been 10st since my 20s - feel uncertain about getting my hopes up it’s strange.
I'm wk4 day7

We started the same weight but I’m a week further on. I’ve found my weight loss has really slowed. 2lbs in last 2 weeks. I’m 11.4 at the moment. So you’ve lost more than me in a shorter time, can I ask what you are typically eating?

As you’ve lost well, I’d be tempted to give the bonus dose which is likely to be 3-3.5mg.

You’ll be in the 10s soon - amazing !

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 10:29

How much are people who are shopping around paying for 5mg pens?

I haven't shopped around at all. £140 delivered from Ouskh for 5mg. I've stuck with them because I cba, DPD is super reliable and I can choose my delivery date/get a one hour window notification.

cherrycherryblossom · 16/02/2025 10:34

@Upperroom I hop on the scales first thing every morning (bad habit I just can’t get out of) but I take the weight on the morning of the 8th day as my final weight, so after seven full days.

I listened to this podcast this week whilst doing my walks. I follow Dr Hyman and like to take on things. Two guest doctors with different views. So much about other health benefits from the drugs. Long but interesting. Lots on benefits of the lower doses, which interests me as I’m keen to stick to 2.5 if it keeps working. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-dr-hyman-show/id1382804627?i=1000680750613

Listening to this now! Thank you!

I'm a habitual daily weigher, and my weigh in day is Saturday, even if my Friday weight was less. You just need to pick a system that works for you and stick with it - mine is always as soon as I get up, after a pee, naked. Consistency helps with tracking.

DGonMJ · 16/02/2025 10:07

Thanks for this, will have a listen on my commute this week 🤓
I was hoping to stay at 2.5 and I may well go back to it, but keen to see if going to 5 helps boost my energy levels and combats procrastination in the same way I had in the early weeks of 2.5.

This is exactly why I think I’m tempted to go straight to 5mg rather than faffing around with breaking the pen. I felt amazing on week 1,2 of 2.5mg - loads of energy!

Upperroom · 16/02/2025 10:42

How do you shop around though? Because I’d be worried if i went to a new provider I wouldn’t be eligible as I’m probably not bmi 27 anymore if that makes sense?

BlueLimes · 16/02/2025 10:45

I use Voy who are more expensive but I am finding the app, meal analysis and checks in good, not intrusive either.

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 10:45

I don't know @Upperroom , Ouskh have been very reliable and were supportive when I felt poorly. My BMI (33) would qualify elsewhere but it seems faffy.

BlueLimes · 16/02/2025 10:50

Ive decided not to shop around for the ease tbh Might once I’ve got to maintenance.

Thank you although it’s honestly been easy…
I’m a classic adhd emotional binge eater.
I've gone off bread, chocolate, crisps and I can’t drink as much red wine anymore. I don’t fancy anything greasy.

food I feel like eating and have been eating:
salmon fillets
cheese omelettes
avacado, spinach, banana, fresh ginger & apple juice in the nutrabullet.
oh and oddly I’ve craved ryvitas with hard boiled eggs on top!

I can even go out for coffee and be happy with just a latte - I don’t really fancy an almond croissant. And I feel so much better - I realise I’ve not eaten refined sugar since I’ve started!

I’ve never been a breakfast person so it’s 2 meals a day but with no snacking.

Me too.
I log my weight every day on shotsy, but only officially count it for loss purposes on jab day.
I just love to see the shots graph. And the up and down fluctuations are fascinating.

From what I've been looking at, most providers will accept proof of your previous prescription from another supplier (photo of the box or screenshot) and will continue your treatment even though you are a new customer to them.

I started with Juniper, so I have two pen boxes with my name, dose and prescribing date on it. Oushk’s consultation form (online bot) asks for a photo of your prescription or medication boxes if you’re mid-treatment. My bmi is 26.4 and they’ve taken my money! But this is might be because I’ve got mixed SE Asian heritage so NHS guidelines for BMI are lower ie 27+ is obese, 23-27 is still overweight. MedExpress online bot wouldn’t accept on my bmi alone, I’ve emailed them to say I’m mid-treatment and if they agree I may use them for my fourth pen.
I felt happy with Juniper to start with, lots of support, useful articles and videos. But I’ve done so much research now on nutrition, protein, have a good exercise routine and a PT to support my strength goals, that I don’t feel I need to pay for the online coaches (who’ve stopped contacting me anyway).

BlueLimes · 16/02/2025 11:19

@Upperroom thanks for your reply 🙂

Really interesting. I’m still snacking and have been hungry but going up to 5mg this week so hopefully that will do the trick.

Big fan of almond croissants too, hopefully I won’t fancy one soon. Although I’ve cut back a lot, I’ve still had some chocolate, handful of crisps the past 2 weeks, hopefully the 5mg has even more magic powers!

ReginaaPhalangee · 16/02/2025 11:35

Still feeling sick. Had a latte this morning and it's just sitting in my stomach like I'm going to be sick again.

I've kept the pen in the bin. I can't hack feeling like this.

If I'm sick again today I might call the doctor tomorrow....

Upperroom · 16/02/2025 11:37

@BlueLimes it could be your menstrual cycle at play if you’ve had a slight plateau?

BlueLimes · 16/02/2025 11:46

@Upperroom I’m peri and not had a period for 3 months but I do feel hormonal - joy!!

I’m aiming for 1400 calories a day, sometimes it’s less. My TEE is 2000 ish and I’m quite active.
I need to cut out the snacking, first 2 weeks on 2.5mg was good, amazing to have the urge to eat switched off, so hoping the 5mg makes a difference, it’s really reinforced how hard it is for me to lose weight on my own, I’m prepared to be on this long term if need be.

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 11:46

@ReginaaPhalangee sorry you are still unwell, MJ has a half life of 5 days so technically should be out of your system in 11 days.

I'd phone your prescriber, Ouskh were very reassuring when I felt poorly.

Same - it’s life changing. I’m thinking of staying on 2.5mg maybe twice monthly or something.

I’ve had an email from Numan suggesting my weight loss might be too fast but one of the other diets I’ve tried is MM fast 800 (sadly no longer with us) and he said there was nothing wrong with fast weight loss and it can be beneficial to keep up the enthusiasm for loosing weight iyswim?

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 12:11

I’d also avoid dairy for the time being @ReginaaPhalangee . Dairy wouldn’t suit me very well generally, I never order milky coffee as it makes me feel a bit nauseous 🤢.

I think it must be the fat content. One of my DC doesn’t eat dairy and I’ve just embraced it at home as it’s easier. Oatily barista is nice in coffee, low fat, they do a pouring and a whipping cream. 👍🏻

BlueLimes · 16/02/2025 12:12

@Upperroom absolutely, fast 800 works really well for me too. MM such a huge loss, very inspiring man who managed to be supportive and really empathetic.

Have you decided re dose? I got the bonus dose out using needle/syringe- was about 3mg.

Thanks for your messages, very supportive 🙂

KhakiCat · 16/02/2025 12:17

W5D3 5mg
Lost to date: 5.4kg (11.9 lbs)

I had my first 5mg dose 3 days ago and I have had zero side effects, so I think the tapering through 2.5mg worked perfectly for me.

I did have a stye in my eye last week and have heard of several people who had the same, which is really weird!

Suppression is good and I have no hunger at all, though I am able to eat (I truly struggled to when I had my first 2.5mg shot!) - I am making healthy eating choices and have pushed past the loss plateau I had hit a week ago.

Feeling really positive about 5mg so far! I hope it continues!

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 12:18

He was a huge loss @BlueLimes . I like a bit of fasting/ eating window myself but I’ve not managed fast 800 on the occasions I’ve tried.

I’ve just eaten for the first time today. No1 truffle hummus from Waitrose is divine, I weighed it as I’m calorie counting. Had one of the DC’s wraps with it, and this is why I need nutracheck. 1 toasted whole meal wrap 172 cals - whoever knew, I wouldn’t have had a clue without checking.
