What do you think caused it @IBloodyLoveMyBlanket ?

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 15/02/2025 18:10

Having had a read of an article on the Juniper site, I think it's from the red meat and onions I had in a meal last night. Bugger.

MananaMananaPenelope · 15/02/2025 18:15

Oh 😮, that's surprising isn't it. Has anything like that happened before or is it the first time you've had that combination?

I've planned a light non-dairy stroganoff tomorrow with beef, onions, garlic, oat cream etc., I'll be having mine with green veg. I will let you know if it does the same to me.

TwinklyUmberTurtle · 15/02/2025 19:45

I went up to 5mg yesterday and noticed I was cold and very tired today. I also couldn’t finish my small steak dinner either and I was able to on 2.5mg

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 15/02/2025 19:58

I had the awful burps with diarrhoea last week, so at least it’s only burps this time. Both times I went out to eat, rather than keeping it simple at home, so I think I’ve been pushing my luck.

sociallydistained · 15/02/2025 20:15

I'm on week 7, second dose of 5mg. First week of 5 went well for me I lost 3.5. After the 5th dose of 2.5 I only lost half a pound. I felt 2.5 only worked for a couple of weeks for me so I was definitely ready to go up!

No obvious side effects. A little nausea in the mornings but I have found my sleep very restless especially in the early hours. I'm more tired but that feels like a knock on effect from the nights. Feeling quite motivated otherwise which is great!

ReginaaPhalangee · 15/02/2025 20:21

Up to 5mg yesterday and everything I have eaten has been thrown up :( I feel so so ill on this that my husband binned my pen.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 15/02/2025 20:26

Oh no @ReginaaPhalangee , that sounds awful. What did you eat? Are you able to drink water?

MananaMananaPenelope · 15/02/2025 20:34

@ReginaaPhalangee 🙁that sounds really tough. I hope you feel better very soon. Can you try sipping water, maybe with electrolytes if you've got any?

@IBloodyLoveMyBlanket I guess it is good that you've worked out what's made the difference. We're on a shopping trip next week, I've scrutinised the restaurant menu to the nth degree. Then I'll have to deal with a lush breakfast menu that I'll have to navigate very carefully.

ReginaaPhalangee · 15/02/2025 20:50

Honestly hardly anything. Yesterday was a light lunch of salmon and salad, today we had afternoon tea but I only managed half a finger sandwich, half a scone and a tiny pavlova. Felt so full. Driving home I had to ask DH to pull over and I was violently sick. In bed now and still feel so sick, he's trying to get me to eat toast but I can't face it.

Drinking plenty of water though

Saggyknickers · 15/02/2025 21:32

ReginaaPhalangee

How do you feel about your dh throwing your pen away? Seems a bit extreme! You could always just go back down to 2.5mg, no need to waste all that money.

Id be going and fishing it back out of the bin!

Therealmetherealme · 08/02/2025 15:24

Found you! So I ordered from MedExpress yesterday and sent a price match request (2.5mg Chemist 4 U) and today I've received an email and credit heading to my account. I just filled in a form and sent a screen shot. Easy.

Hi Therealmetherealme

Would you mind helping me understand how you requested a price match with MedExpress? About to order a 7.5mg pen and I think Chemist4u might be cheaper.

Thanks for any help you can give.

meatyryvita · 15/02/2025 22:09

W3 D3 and the suppression is strong! I’m having to push myself to eat to get to 900 calories and I worked out this morning. I finally feel like one of those people who says ‘I forgot to eat this morning’ 🤣

sociallydistained · 16/02/2025 08:49

I have never had suppression like this. I can always eat 😂 wondering if I'll get that on a higher dose at some point?

DGonMJ · 16/02/2025 09:01

W7 D1 3.33mg

SW 79.6kg
CW 71.1kg
GW 60-65kg

I’ve added 20 clicks to my 2.5mg dose - as I figured I could split the bonus dose in 3 for the next 3 weeks.
Have ordered a 5mg pen for my next one - this time from Oushk - but I’ll see how I get on with this slightly higher dose. Despite complaining on Thursday and Friday that my appetite suppression had gone I had it quite high yesterday after eating a high fat lunch (fat from smoked mackerel). Meant I couldn’t get up to my new higher calorie limit.

Also, tiredness wasn’t as bad yesterday compared to in the week. My PT wondered if it was actually my body fighting an illness. I’ve had several people in my team at work all get ill the last couple of weeks, so there could be something in that.

GrumpyMuleFan · 16/02/2025 09:06

Morning all. Well done on all the weight loss and commiserations to those feeling side effects.

I have just finished 4 weeks and so happy that I’m 10.1lbs down. It’s just under a third of what I want to loose. I stayed on 2.5 and hope that last weeks food digestive issues don’t come back 🤞🤞

US travel was easier than I expected and I lost 2lbs that week. This weekend travelling in Scotland and interestingly, less easy to navigate menus. everything is more fussy, or in batter. In US I could find protein + veg/salad. Here a lot more is fried, in batter or just more of a composite dish. Spent ages choosing last nights dinner and when it came, I could hardly eat it. It was unhealthy looking and it just didn’t appeal. My family polished it off for me, so not wasted! I’m really impressed with myself. Also did a famous bakery visit yesterday and family all stocked up on treats but I was v happy to say no. I may have a bite of someone else’s, but we’ll see.

I listened to this podcast this week whilst doing my walks. I follow Dr Hyman and like to take on things. Two guest doctors with different views. So much about other health benefits from the drugs. Long but interesting. Lots on benefits of the lower doses, which interests me as I’m keen to stick to 2.5 if it keeps working. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-dr-hyman-show/id1382804627?i=1000680750613

Genuine question. Why are people buying their 2nd pens onwards from med express and price matching. Wouldn’t it just be easier to buy from the other cheaper provider?
thank you. - need to put my 2nd order in this weekend.

Therealmetherealme · 16/02/2025 09:25

@FuzzyFeelingFairy

Hi! So to price match with MedExpress, (IMO it's not quite price matching really).

Buy the item as normal

Contact them within 7 days (the normal contact form on the website) with a screen shot of the cheaper price.

They will credit your account with the difference and an extra £5.

They don't refund you, so it only helps if you're planning to order from them again. They've been great though and it's always been quick service so I'll stick to them.

Prices go up and down so sometimes ME is comparable, especially for the 5mg pen, if you're not sure to do 2/3.75/5.

It's also less faf as already accepted, delivery is really quick and potentially someone's used your code so you get money off.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I've found the below comparison list and there are some providers who are cheaper. Need to check if MedExpress price match with them.

I agree it's not really price matching. Why don't companies just stay aligned (obviously at the cheapest price!) rather then us filling in forms?

However, I've had a great experience with MedExpress and don't really want the faff of changing. It feels easier to complete a price match form then send photos of my jelly belly and iD to a new company.

I'm off to order my new pen now. 7.5mg here I come. Bit nervous for the jump so might count 6.25mg clicks for a while 😁

Morning, I’m wondering if people are weighing daily or once weekly?
I've started weighing daily in the morning… but I’m 2/3 pounds heavier by lunch time so I’m feeling like I’m not sure I believe my weight loss!
jab day tomorrow and can’t decide between 5th bonus dose or go straight to 5mg.
SW 12.2 st
CW 11st
GW 9ish st
i’m in slight disbelief does anyone else feel like that? Like I can’t imagine I’ll be 10st in another 4 weeks? Or will the weight loss plateau?
I've not been 10st since my 20s - feel uncertain about getting my hopes up it’s strange.
I'm wk4 day7

Thanks for this, will have a listen on my commute this week 🤓
I was hoping to stay at 2.5 and I may well go back to it, but keen to see if going to 5 helps boost my energy levels and combats procrastination in the same way I had in the early weeks of 2.5.

I weigh whenever I feel hopeful there’s been downward movement. Grin That’s working out at twice a week but not on specific days.

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 10:22

I have downloaded that too @GrumpyMuleFan 🙏.

Hope @ReginaaPhalangee is feeling better today.

I'm trying not to weigh daily @Upperroom as my weight fluctuates so much it is a bit pointless.

I'm going to inject tomorrow, I did it on Tuesday morning last week as I had such a hectic day on Monday and it was the first jab after a bit of a delay because I was unwell. I'm staying on 2.5mg for another pen.
